Chapter 10

The drone had been destroyed and God's Eye was back in Ramsey's hands; Katrina had enough.

She was going back for Deckard because sure enough, with God's Eye back, they'd all be heading back for Toretto.

And she was even more thirsty for blood when she saw the missile fired at Shaw and Toretto from Jakande's helicopter.

The bastard was screwing them over!

But by the time she'd arrived, getting out of her car to see the sight, her heart shattered. Because half the parking garage that Deckard and Toretto had been fighting on had caved in, with no sign of Deckard as Toretto faced down the helicopter, Hobbs' firing at it with the Gatling gun he stole from the drone.

Anger flooded Katrina's features as she raced for the boot, her knee-high wedged boots soundless on the pavement as she assembled the weapon she always had stashed in her trunk.

Gunfire was still loud in her ears as the married woman ducked for cover as Jakande took control of the Gatling gun aboard the helicopter, his aim terrible as he fired at the streets, hitting the crashed car with Letty and Ramsey inside.

The weapon Katrina hefted was heavy as she walked into the street, staying close to her car so she wouldn't be too close to Hobbs who'd likely shoot at her with the Gatling gun if he saw her.

The RPG rested on her shoulder as she lined up the shot, waiting for missile lock on the helicopter as it chased Dom who'd gotten into his car and was driving down to the ground level from the roof of the parking garage.

Who knows where Deckard was.

Hobbs eventually hit the tailfin of the helicopter, the vehicle beginning to spin out of control as the Gatling gun ran out of ammunition.

And though the parking garage was half gone, Dom launched his car off the rubble and into the air, aiming for the chopper that moved out of the way as his car scraped along the side of it.

The rest of Dom's crew had arrived just in time to watch the horrific crash that would've likely resulted in his death, what Katrina hoped resulted in Dom's death as they all raced over to him.

But just as her screen beeped with a confirmed missile lock, Hobbs noticed what the point of flying the car out there was, as a backpack of Deckard's grenades hung from the landing skids.

But before Hobbs could shoot at it with his sidearm, the RPG surface-to-air missile launched itself past him, the force knocking him to the floor.

He watched as it hit the copter and in combination with the grenades, resulted in a massive explosion that sent the pieces of the chopper to the ground.

Katrina threw the missile launcher to the ground as Hobbs turned to face her and she scowled at him, strands of hair that fell from her braid flowing in her face.

"You won't find me, not even with God's eye. You won't see it coming when I come for Deckard."

She didn't give Hobbs the chance to reply as she got back in her car and sped away, the steady heartbeat of her husband calming her down as it echoed from her phone which lay on the passenger seat.

But it didn't stop the tears that fell down her face.

She would get her husband back but first, she just needed a moment to be broken.
