{43}The unicorn medallion

Tang Yin's smile would send shivers down a normal cultivator. Dong Hua remained calm as her soft and beautiful facade was shed. Her eyes went from blue to red, Her white and golden tail popped out. It had a few new features. Her face was more bright but not a sliver of warmth was found. Her expression went from cold to dark. Maybe it was an illusion but her face went a little ugly.

"I need blood." She muttered under her breath and a smirk formed on her face. Her nails became as big as her fingers and sharp at the edges. The combination of a snake and a devil beast was indeed weird yet terrifying. She reached towards Dong Hua as her tail wrapped around him. He didn't try to break through and rather kept noticing her changes. Her nails reached his neck and dug into his skin. Her mouth opened a little to reveal her snake tongue and Fangs.

"Blood," she repeated with greed.

"Tang Yin." Dong Hua called. But her eyes didn't move from his neck. He pushed her away with a swift punch. She fell back and gave him a malevolent glare.

"Get me out of here," she screamed. "I need blood," she repeated. He finally understood what had happened. Tang Yin had lost her remaining consciousness to a new beast that had appeared in her. A devil.

She didn't look at Dong Hua like she knew him well. She viewed him as nothing but a person who trapped her in a place without living beings. It was hell for a bloodthirsty devil. All previous emotions were severed. Her previous Daos were severed. You could say that even the Tang Yin was severed. And a devil was born. But that was the difference. It was born and needed to be baptized by blood.

"Your blood smells good," she said as if dazed in a daydream. He snorted. Canghe appeared in his hand and pure sword Qi danced around it ready any moment to slash into her.

"How dare you," he said. Tang Yin froze as a momentary emotion passed through her face but she soon recovered.

"You'll be my food for now," she said and more death aura congealed together to enter her body. Suddenly black smoke covered the surroundings. Dong Hua sealed his senses and attacked her with his consciousness. His body felt like constant knives were stabbing through him although all was visible was black smoke. He didn't say a single word and neither did she.

He quickly overcame the smoke and appeared above it covered in wounds that grew dark with each passing second. It was indeed malevolent. But none of the dark energy could enter his blood because his golden blood was enough to fight over it and win it.

"You are destined to die in my hands." she slashed her nails towards his skin crazily. His sword fought through with the devil's chains. Her nails managed to dig out a little blood which she gulped crazily. Dong Hua was hard-pressed. The black smoke could congeal into anything and it almost never dispersed. He had to continuously fight it and also avoid Tang Yin's crazy ass from taking his blood.

To his benefit, Tang Yin discovered that his golden blood had harmed her devil aura instead. She breathed heavily and screamed in anger. Dong Hua had mulled over the possibility that his blood could counter Tang Yin's newly formed Devil foundation but he hadn't been entirely sure.

Still, the effect allowed him a moment of weakness from Tang Yin. That was all he needed. He decided to use the medaliion he got from the cave to try and seal Tang Yin. Even if she couldn't die, at least she would be sealed if this worked. Although Dong Hua knew of Feng Jiu's jade necklace, he still had his doubts. Plus he had discovered that the necklace had exceptional healing and protection capabilities which could really help its master. That's why he decided that it was better if Xiao Bai had that necklace.

As expected Tang Yin called upon the death aura to attack Dong Hua again. But Dong Hua had already summoned Canghe, which formed thousands of swords. The pure sword Qi danced around the whole area, forming and multiplying every second. Dong Hua had summoned his flowers to cleanse some of the death aurae. It couldn't harm him too much, but if he were to use the seal it would take the enormous sacrifice of his inner energy and might even need some life force. Then the death aura would be very harmful to him. It would only solidify his wounds then.

Tang Yin's blood was boiling and her violent roar could be heard from miles away. She straight away headed for Dong Hua as she changed her form into a gigantic python. Her enormous snake tongue slashed towards Dong Hua. At the same time, all the swords headed towards her head. Thousands of them congealed together to form hundred, hundred formed back ten and ten formed a single mighty sword Canghe. It headed with ferocious momentum. Tang Yin's tail tried to conquer it but still ended up writhing in pain as it stabbed into her tail. She transformed back into her human form and glared at him.

The medallion rose up in the air. At that moment, Tang Yin froze. At first, she couldn't move her legs. She looked at Dong Hua with anger, then madness, and at the end a sliver of fear.

"Dong Hua..." she whispered. Her eyes turning blue again. Her temperament changed into that of a noble lady. Dong Hua was shocked. But only for a second. He knew it was a trap.

"I'm still Tang Yin." she said as if experiencing great sorrow. Dong Hua could only shake his head internally. He frowned at her. She was on the brink of crying as she looked at Dong Hua. Dong Hua narrowed his eyes and performed several incantations to formulate the seal.

Tenacious desire to conquer the devil. The unicorn immortal is indomitable with his jade.

He recited these lines again. But he lacked the jade so obviously, the medallion was only half useful. But without it, he would have to but heads with Tang Yin for who knows how long. Their fight might have even escalated to the point where both of them lost their lives. With such experts, if they were on equal footing the fights may last even a hundred years. After all, they were powerhouses of energy. No one would be willing to use a lot of energy while exchanging moves if they weren't sure that they would win. That was the primary reason fights would drag on. Of course, he didn't have that much time plus he knew Xiao Bai was waiting.

Tang Yin was vicious to the core. Even as her lower body had frozen. She hadn't dropped the fake act. But her tricks still didn't go unnoticed by Dong Hua. A strong death aura was walking towards him. It was so dense that he felt that the entire place was now free of it. So that was what the act was for?

He couldn't spare his consciousness to it. He had to focus on the seal. As expected Tang Yin laughed viciosuly.

"That's not all," she said.

Bai Feng Jiu had been trying to break through into the mortal world. It had been seven days. Her anxiety had grown so much that whenever she tried to think of how Dong Hua was she ended up crying. She wasn't sure what was happening. She was angry at Cheng Yu. She had visited Tai Chen Palace and asked Si Ming. He seemed to be somewhat unsure himself. She was stubborn but Si Ming really didn't have a proper idea of the situation plus deep down he knew whatever Dong Hua was doing he didn't want Feng Jiu to know. She waited while sitting on a step of stairs completely lost in thought when Si Ming appeared.

"Si Ming, please tell me," she begged, her eyes glistening with tears. "Why isn't he back yet? And why is Cheng Yu acting so weird? I've fought with her every day but she wouldn't budge."

"Your highness, If Di Jun has promised you, he will eventually return."

"And he couldn't have told me if he had something to do? And why am I the only one back. Fang Lei and yan and Ji Heng are also in the mortal realm." She couldn't help but feel angry at him.

"Your highness, Di Jun might have his reasons. As for why he hasn't returned that's probably because the gap between the heavenly realm and the mortal realm has been closed. You saw that yourself," he tried to console Feng Jiu. She nodded. She didn't believe one bit that Dong Hua couldn't come back because of that. Or how would she have come back? But it comforted her a little anyways.

"Si Ming, Did Di Jun know about my fate?" she asked, her lips quivering slightly. It had been eating her up the past few days. Maybe Di Jun is avoiding me because of it. Si Ming was speechless. After all, he didn't tell her anything.

"Your highness..."

"Tell me," she demanded.

"No, he doesn't know but your fate, it changed in the past few days. I can't tell you much but you are no longer destined to be with any other person right now. Maybe your fated partner has perished early. It might be because of other things too. I'm not really sure." he commented a little lost in thought.

"What?" she was shocked. Although it did seem sad that someone had perished. The one she was destined to meet. But a little bit of happiness crept inside her anyway. At least she wasn't bound now.

"Your highness I suggest you wait a few days and don't worry too much. Di Jun is true to his words. And I've witnessed myself that he cares for you."

"I don't doubt him, Si Ming. I never did. I just...I'm disappointed that he didn't involve me in his decision." she said with a frown.

Am I immature? Would I have stopped him if he said he had something to do? Is the thing so dangerous that he sent me back here alone?

"Your highness this matter may be related to Tang Yin, But I'm not sure. I've only received a few clues from Lord Cheng Yu. You don't know but she was a great princess once. She admired Di Jun and Di Jun also admired her talent. But she slaughtered many people and Di Jun crippled her himself. Now that she is back she might have vengeance " Si Ming sighed knowing full well that he had eventually told Feng Jiu everything.

"That python?" Feng Jiu shook. Was Dong Hua really in danger? No, he was the most powerful god. She reminded herself. Her man was powerful beyond everyone. But she wasn't blind. She knew Tang Yin had some sort of history with Dong Hua. She also knew that Dong Hua might not be completely well because he had treated her in the mortal realm. What if it backfired him?

"Yes, You highness Feng Jiu, Di Jun prefers you to be safe. Knowing your personality if he were to fight Tang Yin alone you would've joined him regardless."

Feng Jiu felt her throat grow dry. Even after listening to Si Ming's words, she wanted nothing more than going straight to Dong Hua.
