{42} The unicorn immortal's cave

Long ago, there were two great sects. But it was so long ago that only a few ancient books would contain any information about them. One was the Good luck jade sect and another Dark Blood Clan. The person who passed the few tricks of the clan to Tang Yin back then was the devilishness of the elder she met later in the ruins. It had been severed by the owner but still managed to plant a seed of the devil in Tang Yin. Although the dark magic he passed was not really that powerful. He had hinted to her about the ruins before. And all this time she had been waiting for the legacy which had finally come into her hands.

The elder had been a big variable in the war. Everyone was shocked when he revealed his techniques. People called it an evil technique with fear evident in their eyes as thousands of souls were sucked and became the foundation of the great power. But he became so lost, that he lost himself. The devil overtook him and he even took the lives of his own clan, his sense of rationality gone. Not even flesh and blood remained on the several hundred thousand skeletons around him. When he killed them all and his power was at its peak he seemed to remember something. But when he looked around his heart bled. What had he done? He wanted to save his clan...but ended up taking their lives that also so viciously.

He looked up into the sky which wasn't blue but a shade of red. He laughed, laughed in the face of heavens. What had he done? He screamed and cried but no one came back. He sat there for days, blood thrumming in his veins. Countless screams in his head which never died down. He growled and roared in madness. He didn't feel good anymore, neither did he feel sad. He just felt like a beast who had no human emotions left.

A slender figure in a green robe stood in the sky, taking in the scene, he sighed. The elder was sitting on his knees covering his ears.

"Do you want to be free of the screams in your head?" he asked in a mellow voice. The elder looked up viciously like a mad animal. He nodded and growled.

"Sever your devilishness," he said calmly. The maddened elder seemed to reminisce and howl as tears flowed down his cheeks. He severed his devilishness which vanished without a trace. The noises in his ears died down and sorrow overcame him. Everything became deathly silent. The man in a green robe vanished with a rainbow streak with a last look of pity. The world spun and he was locked in the ruins forever which moved to the mortal world.

Ji Heng and the others reached near a waterfall. A barely perceptible formation was in place. There were no weird creatures here and the formation looked like a door. They had come to the conclusion that there was still no way to open the formation even if they wanted to. Ji Heng sighed while yan Chiwu didn't care. As long as he was with Ji Heng he didn't care. Actually, he was happy. Fang Lei was the one who was a little frustrated and resigned. He often thought about Feng Jiu in these few hours.

Yes, because time here was the same as the heavenly realm. He came to the conclusion that there was a possibility they would be locked here. If that was the case he wished that Dong Hua would be good to Feng Jiu. But it also angered him. He had pictured moving on.

He had thought numerous fairies surround him. He would play with them until he forgot about Feng Jiu. But there was no fairy here. Of course, Ji Heng couldn't be considered. There were only virgin ghosts here who would even fall for his charms.

He shivered at the thought then he internally smacked himself. Because he himself found it ridiculous. He knew he had changed. He was no longer interested in having meaningless relationships. Actually, his reputation as a playboy was a bit exaggerated.

Ji Heng threw herself on the grass near the waterfall in listlessness. It was apparent that they had seen all sorts of weird things here. On the way here to the waterfall which had been a hope to them, there were countless wild beasts. Although they didn't have a big level, they were still ferocious considering they were from ancient bloodlines. They were already lucky enough to not disturb any king of these beats or they would all be dead.

Yan Chiwu sat next to her with their backs touching.

"You can lean on me," he told her. She was too tired to make an annoyed and disgusted face at him or tell him to get lost so she just leaned back resting her head on his back. She closed her eyes as she felt comfortable in her current position. Yan Chiwu was on guard with his sword in his hand. He put on a smug expression as he felt the Ji heng's hair brushed against his neck slightly tickling him. It made him happy that she was accepting him little by little. Fang Lei chuckled at the sight slightly jealous.

Just as they settled a strange phenomenon occurred. The formation seemed to be opening on its own. Fang Lei was the first to notice. He nudged Yan Chiwu to see. He was also wide-eyed. Ji Heng rubbed her eyes and also looked up. A silver head came into sight.

"Di Jun." she whispered. A smile formed on her face as she stood up hastily. All of them ran near the formation to find it was indeed him. Ji Heng's eyes watered as she ran a little near Dong Hua. Dong Hua cast her a look of indifference that halted her. She lowered her head in embarrassment. Dong Hua was a taken man alright.

Not that he ever allowed girls to say a single finger on him. He had seen numerous ladies in his life and resisted countless temptations. Part of the reason he was called a saint. Some tried to seduce him and some shyly admired him. It was not different that Ji Heng also did. But the only one Dong Hua allowed to trickle in his heart little by little was none other than his little fox.

"Ice Face, you could break the formation?" Yan voiced his thoughts. Dong Hua stood there calm and gave a leisurely shrug. He wasn't as cold as before but actually seemed to have accepted Yan Chiwu. Ji Heng could only stare blankly at the scene. Dong Hua naturally had his own ways. He was way older than any of these people and he had cultivation far above any entity in the three realms. It had been so for a long time. Accept Tang Yin. Her case was a whole different story.

"Go on outside. You'll find Lian Song."

---
Dong Hua sped further into the heart of the ruins. On the other hand, Tang Yin sat calmly on a rock. She was expressionless. More like soulless. Her emotions were heightened in fact. She was just expressionless because she found this weird energy in her which was far stronger than it ever was.

There was a thing inside her madly telling her to consume souls, flesh and blood, cultivation, everything she could find. She had already cleared all the spirit beasts in the area. Only bones remained. She was just going to leave when she felt something. The desire inside her exploded. She felt like if she didn't succumb to the hunger she felt she would most probably die. Her body was like a deep abyss now which demanded a continuous supply of power.

"My stone is here. It can satiate my hunger. Yes, it can." She mumbled.

She flew through the air desperately. Dong Hua was clear. Today Tang Yin had to be subdued. Too much had happened. Although world peace was not broken it was not a distant possibility. Moreover, his Xiao Bai has suffered. The only thing he felt bad about was promising Feng Jiu a date. Although if he could battle Tang Yin and win he could return in time, but nonetheless he knew Xiao Bai would be hurt. But it was better than her being involved in this battle. Dong Hua wasn't the type to fear anything, but he did fear his little fox getting hurt in the slightest.

The place was strange overall. He scanned the place with his eye technique. The area he was in was not the Dark Blood sect's previous territory but the ancient good luck jades. There were massive pagodas that probably shone brightly in their time. But now they were smashed. The aura of death still wasn't cleansed, as if someone had locked the whole place down and thrown it away in the mortal realm with ease. If that was the case who was this entity? But Dong Hua didn't have time to worry about these unnecessary things at the time. He quickly moved forward in search of Tang Yin.

Ji Heng and others were lucky not to run into Tang Yin who had gone berserk with the desire of blood. It was because they were in a different territory. They were now out of the cave. Lian Song was there with a solemn face.

"Greetings, third prince." Ji Heng and Fang Lei cupped their hands. While the Demon lord walked with a slightly arrogant face as always. He quickly placed himself beside Ji Heng.

"Ji Heng, do you wish to go back home? If not I can take you anywhere in the other two realms." Yan whispered softly. Ji Heng frowned at the thought of home. How could she return now? She hated her brother to the core. She slightly smiled at him and shook her head.

"Green Demon lord, you can't return now. There is a strange barrier between the mortal realm and the heavenly realm now. I don't think other realms are open either. We can only wait for Di Jun to come to even slightly break this barrier." he sighed.

"Huh? Where is Feng Jiu?" Fang Lei asked. Yan and Ji Heng were equally stunned.

"She is back in Qing Que with Cheng Yu and has gone to inform Si Ming about the matters..."

"Third prince what exactly is going on?" Ji Heng voiced everyone's thoughts. Lian Song sighed again and shook his head. Then he briefly explained everything that was going on.

On the way to the Dark Blood sect, Dong Hua felt strange callings. There were fluctuations from a particular mountain. The stunning thing was the mountain seemed fully intact and there was no death aura. He descended down and found an entrance to a cave. Without giving much thought he walked in. He didn't feel strange but at ease. Like he had been hypnotized into walking here. A few miles later a lake was visible. This lake was exceedingly beautiful surrounding by a mist that changed colors every now and then. If one looked carefully an animal could be seen near the lake. It was white, almost like a horse. Dong Hua shook his head, as his consciousness was strong he snapped out of the illusion.

He instantly realized how far he had walked. When he looked back he saw how many traps and formations were in this place, but had nothing touched him. It was as if he hadn't made it here on his own, but the owner of this place had allowed him to come. He looked back and felt a presence.

Although he couldn't see far back he was sure someone strong was outside the small mountain range, trying to break in. But it was apparent that the formations didn't allow the person to. He understood that he was in here for a purpose. Suddenly he had an idea. He took out the sacred stone that Tang Yin wanted so much and decided to hide it in this cave. At first, he wanted to give it to Tang Ruru but Tang Yin would've taken it from her for sure. He also knew that no one could enter this place easily. After that he walked around.

A while later he found a stone tablet on which various words were engraved.

Tenacious desire to conquer the devil. The unicorn immortal is indomitable with his jade.

There was also a brown box on it. He removed all the restrictions before picking it up. There was a sign of a unicorn on it. He went back in his memory lane. The symbol was the same which appeared on Feng Jiu's hand. He opened the box to find a medallion. It seemed to be missing a stone. He took it out and studied it for a while. Then he looked back to the stone engraving. A thought struck him. He had a feeling that they weren't just engravings but a hint or even a technique was hidden in them.

Jade? It took Xiao Bai as a master. It seems to be related to this unicorn immortal. I already sealed the place with the Nine flags formation. She can't get out for a few months. The death aura is strong here, but I still can't leave her here.

Seven days went by. He remained in the cave and kept sensing the ripples of energy outside the cave. They didn't move for a whole week. He was sure it was Tang Yin. He could sense her madness and nervousness, at one point. He also sensed her growing weak. He could sense her bloodthirstiness. Letting her out of these ruins will only mean one thing, a vast massacre of citizens. He could sense her new power but it was weird. He briefly understood something. She was weak right now and would become weaker day by day. Maybe it's because of the death aura outside the mountain. After all only this region is somewhat fit for living.

He did gain a little from this cave. The energy around him was suitable for cultivation. But that for only for strong entities. If anyone came here, they were likely to explode under the pressure of the rich spiritual energy. This made Dong Hua feel on guard against the owner of this place.

After a few hours, he decided to come out. He couldn't sense her clearly anymore. But he had an intense feeling that something was wrong. He had healed his previous injuries so he was more confident. He frowned and came down the mountain range and found that all the death aura of the place had congealed into a remote corner. And it had become terrifyingly dense. Tang Yin had absorbed the death aura itself.

She was standing there calm and composed, dressed in a white robe and a fur coat. She didn't look much different from the past Tang Yin. But the difference was indeed huge. She almost reminded Dong Hua of the past Tang Yin who liked to work hard and train. He had even given her pointers in past. Who knew they would come to this stage. But he didn't have any hate or negative feelings for her, only pity at this moment.

Her beautiful eyes lingered on his face and their gazes locked. She came closer to him in a second. Extreme speed. He narrowed his eyes. She smiled like a teenage girl and bit her lip in seduction when she saw Dong Hua didn't move. Her eyes never let his go.

"Old tricks." Dong Hua's voice mocked her. "Shed your innocent facade, Tang Yin. Your seduction poison can't harm me," he said leisurely. Although he seemed relaxed, he was on constant guard. If he hadn't have healed his injuries, he would have slightly fallen for her tactic. That was to say he barely saved himself. This indicated Tang Yin had become very strong.

It was a trap. The death aura didn't make her weaker. But something is still odd.
