{19} The Connection with Tang Yin

15,000 years ago...

A small girl with a bright red phoenix flower birthmark fell into a snake pit. "Ayya." She stood up dusting herself and holding her butt.

"That stupid bird. I'll take revenge later. But first, how do I get out?"

She looked up at the bright afternoon sky. The bird had already flown away. She sighed. She didn't know what was the place first and as mischievous she was, a cunning smile played on her face. She walked in to see what the place exactly was. Not too long after walking into the dark place, she fell and slid down into a tunnel. It wasn't dark at all. There were small spiritual light insects all over the place. She went over the place avidly. A stone coffin and a memorial tablet sort of a thing were there. On that tablet laid a diamond that seemed to be rare. Finding it pretty and astonishing she giggled and picked it up.

The moment she picked it from its original place the stone coffin changed into that of wood. It was like the coffin had been shed of one layer. A frail lady laid in the coffin. Her eyes opened momentarily. The body had been soulless for lakhs of years. She was unable to move through. Her body was stiff and withered. She had almost no energy and fell into sleep again.

Feng Jiu was admiring the stone, but it flew in the air, and in a blink, it shot towards Feng jiu's head and sealed itself in her birthmark. Before she knew what was happening thousand of white snakes gathered around her and marched towards her. She gasped and shook her head in disbelief. She used her magic arts to push them away but then another lot came out. Terrified she ran out, after all, she was a small girl and didn't listen in class enough to know many tricks. She shoved them away as they came and ran in her original form. As soon as she came to the spot where she first fell into she saw a small bird which had been brought by her uncle a few months ago. She changed back to herself. It flew down to her and she grabbed onto its claws and they both flew away.

She sighed in relief. "What the hell was that?" She clutched at her heart.

"Hold tight." It said. The bird was no other than Jingwei. After that incident, they had become classmates.

"I know." She said arrogantly.

Present Nine heavens

Dong Hua stared at his scars which hadn't healed. Like the ones, he had lakhs of years ago. At first dark magic was first found out and researched by a snake charmer, Zhi Fan who had appeared from nowhere and had caused a huge wave.

Later he had been executed and it was also found that he had a disciple. That was Tang Yin. It was one of the reasons for her punishment as she used dark magic even though it had been forbidden by the previous heavenly lord which was also her husband to be.

Dong Hua had cultivated for an hour and they were almost healed but that dark scar it left seemed to take a longer time to go away. He got up and went into his main room. He picked up the Gunsha jade necklace and held it in his hands tight.

Suddenly it felt hot as if it had recognized the scars of the one holding it. He was shocked for a fleeting moment as the dark black scars started to go away. A black powder-like thing dissipated into the air from his body.

He was still thinking about everything when Chong Lin entered and cupped his hand to greet Dong Hua. He turned to him and sat down in his seat. Chong Lin served him tea and told him that the Second Prince of the mermaids had come to visit Dong Hua. Dong Hua slightly raised his eyebrows when Fang Lei walked in. Chong Lin left after bowing to both of them.

"Di Jun." He greeted Dong Hua.

"What brings you here Second prince. From what I know you stay away from official matters."

"I'm a prince and I shouldn't neglect my duties. As for coming here, I have another reason except delivering my father's message to you."

"What reason?" Di Jun asked. Fang Lei grinned slightly.

"I have a friend to meet." He answered witha faint smile.

"Oh." Dong Hua said siping his tea.

"Yes. My father has thanked you. In the past few days, everything has started to return to normal. As for the thing, we saw there I discussed it with father but he seemed to ignore it."

"He ignored it? Who told him that the riots were caused by the Five Vish Serpent clan?"

"I don't know Di Jun." He said. Dong Hua slightly nodded.

"No more riots and soul snatching you say?"

"Yes."

"I guessed this much. She already gained her powers through souls. It's gonna be the calm before the storm she brings."

"Who?"

He said nothing.

Feng Jiu was sitting in the open pavilion having walnuts. She broke them by smashing them on the table with her palm. Yan Chiwu saw her and smiled. She was so lost that she didn't notice him. He silently went towards her and screamed in her ear and she screamed back. Her shrilly voice made him cover his ears. She started hitting him with her eyes closed tight.

"Ayy Xiao Jiu It's me." He said. But she screamed and hit him anyway. Fang Lei also walked towards them when he saw and laughed. Feng Jiu finally opened her eyes and stared at Yan who was beaten up by her in shock while Fang Lei screamed from behind her.

"It's a snake!"

Feng Jiu jumped on the table almost immediately. "Where's the snake?" She asked panicking, and then she saw Fang Lei.

"Yan, you know I'm scared of snakes." She cried. Her eyes even started to water.

Fang Lei who saw the bold princess in the rumour so scared of snakes couldn't help but break into a smile.

"There are no snakes." Fang Lei clarified. She looked up at him and saw that there were really no snakes. Only a devilishly smiling man making fun of her right by her side.

She wanted to punch, but she was suddenly patted on the head. She slapped his hand away and gaped at him and then stepped downwards returning to her demeanor.

"You and you!" She looked at both of them furiously and walked away with her arms crossed. Both of them were already laughing their asses off and followed her while she turned and told them to piss off. They guffawed again.

"Xiao Jiu, I didn't know you'd be so easy to scare." Yan teased.

She pouted angrily and started to plan her revenge right away.

Dong Hua passed by the pavilion and heard their faint laughs. He seated himself where Feng Jiu was sitting before and rested his face in his palms looking at their images walking away. He seemed to pout imperceptibly.
