{47} Whenever wherever you are

"I love you Xiao Bai" The words that seemingly Feng Jiu had wanted to hear ever since she first set her eyes on Dong Hua were spoken so easily by the man next to her. The words, the man she'd longed for was there seemingly pulling her into a dream itself. A dream which would last an eternity. A dream containing both of them alone never to be separated again. Isolated from the world, here in this eternal dream.

Although Feng Jiu felt overwhelmed there was something at the back of her mind told her to run away. Something reminding her that the picture of love she'd painted wasn't that ridiculously simple. That she was being fooled by her own imagination.

The dreamy man in silver hair held her hand and led her somewhere whilst she was still in a daze. His gentleness made Feng Jiu even more muddleheaded. There were silence and something in the place or in the man's honey words or mellow voice or just his eyes which made Feng Jiu sleepy. Almost as if a glittery world was beckoning to her, waiting for her to open the door and forever fall into a beautiful space.

She found herself picturing a world where there was Dong Hua was lying in her lap for a moment. The next moment they were playing around. She was running away from him while looking back at him with a coquettish smile when the man just waved his hand and she was magically there, in his arms once again.

"Di Jun..." she murmured when her heart started to beat wildly. Blood rushed into her head and she bit her lips, only to spit out a mouthful of blood. It was then that she regained her will and looked at her injuries and carefully at the man whose silhouette was just barely visible. It was like it would disappear any moment.

"No," she whispered, almost to herself. But then a voice at the back of her mind reminded. Snap!

Di Jun is in the mortal realm. This can't be. This...this place...Di Jun I have to go to him.

Feng Jiu quickly looked for the exit as the place started to fade. The next moment Gunsha Jade glowed and Feng Jiu was out of the space back into the entrance of the pagoda after going to the turbulence of space.

She was still in shock that she might have just lost herself just now if her injuries hadn't acted up. She might have lost herself deeper and deeper into that mysterious space without finding the exit to the point of no return. This legacy had been a tough trial for Feng Jiu. Yes, she had caused trouble unlimited amounts of time and had been in dangerous situations in the past. But never was the experience so dramatic, bone-chilling, and decisive. She could do it because of Dong Hua.

She finally smiled as she was back in Qinque.

"The formation had become weaker on its own master. It will break in a few days anyway." A voice startled Feng Jiu.

"Is it you?" she asked holding the jade necklace with wide eyes.

"Of course. You received the legacy and awakened me. So you're my master." The little jade replied in a voice that sounded rather childish. "Your legacy is with me and you can visit the nine pagodas anytime. They contain nine different techniques. But according to your level, you can only practice the first technique."

"Oh...But what about this formation. The senior told me I can go to the mortal realm once I receive the legacy."

"Of course. You don't need to bother with formation. I am a magical item that can also tear through space. I can teleport you wherever you want."

"Huh...Really, without restrictions?" Feng Jiu asked excitedly.

"Of course," the little jade replied in a smug voice. There was finally a wide smile on Feng Jiu's face.

"How many things can you do..." she murmured. "Take me to the mortal realm."

By now the death aura was cleansed by Dong Hua or absorbed by Tang Yin. Her body seemed to emit a red glow changing with every second. Dong Hua's eyes narrowed. He thought the devil is the devil. She gazed at her own hands laughing.

"I just need some blood. Ah, I should massacre Qingque first. Qing Que...I'll kill the queen first. Your beloved Bai Feng Jiu...prepare for her to die Dong Hua."

"That will never happen Tang Yin" Dong Hua said as if stating an irrefutable truth.

"That's me, Dong Hua. I lost myself for some time. Hahaha but this feeling...it's worth it. I finally have something to live for. I'll make the heavens cower under my feat Dong Hua. I want the land of the heavens to be spilled with blood that won't dry for thousands of years. I'll wrest away the souls of those close to you and your Feng Jiu and make them my puppets. Wait, maybe I should make Feng Jiu my puppet and order her to do lewd things under men." She sneered violently.

Dong Hua's eyes blazed with cold. The temperature instantly dropped around the surroundings. "Do.you.think.you.can.get.out of here?" Dong Hua said and emphasized each word.

Tang Yin laughed malevolently. She was healing at a rate faster than Dong Hua due to the transformation. She had also regained her senses to an extent. A red tornado spun towards Dong Hua and Cang He dissolved it in one strike. However, at the same time, Tang Yin attacked the formation Dong Hua had prepared. Dong Hua finally realized, why the tornado had subsided. It absorbed his attack and the same was used to stab the formation.

Strangely Tang Yin could absorb everything. Blood, cultivation, souls, death auras, and it all made her stronger and madder. Dong Hua immediately headed towards Tang Yin, prepared to throw a lethal attack. But because Dong Hua's magic was used in the formation, it was different. There was a huge hole in the trapping formation now. Tang Yin laughed and ran towards the exit.

Dong Hua managed to drag her tail with him and threw her away in time. The gap also started to repair itself but at that moment a voice came.

"Your Majesty (Di Jun)" a whisper-soft voice came through the gap and a face came into view. A deep red phoenix flower mark and soft eyes staring at his haggard and tired face. Dried blood still remained at the corners of Feng Jiu's mouth.

"Xiao Bai..." Dong Hua was shocked, frozen. He wanted to punish Lian Song, Si Ming, Cheng Yu. All of them didn't stop his stubborn Xiao Bai. Even the barrier. And she was injured so badly. Her eyes were moist and demanding. His heart ached for her.

She tried to barge in but he blocked her. "Don't come in," he said coldly. Feng Jiu shook her head. He knew if she came it would only give Tang Yin a chance to get stronger. She could hurt Feng Jiu with countless tricks. She was talking about wresting her soul away, and Dong Hua knew she could.

But seeing his Xiao Bai this way he wanted nothing more than to pull her in and kiss her. But he also wanted to hide her away from all this. Xiao Bai looked down at him in horror her eyes filled with new tears. Dong Hua's robe was blood red socked with blood occasionally shining with a golden light. But his wounds were a deep black. His whole left arm was bleeding non-stop with each second it was darkening. It couldn't heal that quickly because Dong Hua had lost much blood. His eyes were red.

"Don't push me away Di jun." This Is all she said when she barged in. Gunsha glowed and teleported her in despite the gap which was now closed. She landed in front of Dong Hua and threw the dagger at Tang Yin who was right behind both of them. Tang Yin's smile didn't waver and the dagger didn't affect her. Dong Hua finally woke up and carried Feng Jiu away swiftly in his arms. She struggled to free herself but Dong Hua used spiritual power to block her attacks. He didn't know how she came but he had to make sure she would be safe. Tang Yin didn't give them chase but rather laughed viciously.

"How lucky...I am," she said and laughed more.

Feng Jiu screamed, "Di Jun let me fight with you." Dong Hua looked down at her and replied with a 'no'.

"You're injured." she fought back and struggled in his arms.

"So are you," he said frowning deeply. He so wanted to yell at her for the first time ever. Anger was coursing through his veins yet a small feeling of joy in his heart upon seeing her was irrefutable.

Dong Hua landed in front of the immortal cave but it had disappeared already. He frowned deeper. In a moment of thought, Feng Jiu slipped from his grip. He caught her wrist but she hadn't run away into danger. She was hugging him instead. He then realized that his wounds were healing as well.

"Gunsha...heal him please, please" she whispered in a tired voice. Then Dong Hua looked at the jade in her neck.

"Master, I am. I can't go any faster I just used my energy to tear you through space. Plus don't you want me to seal that devil brat." A childish voice whined but still sent a warm current through both of them.

"I'm fine Xiao Bai." he heard himself console his little Xiao Bai whose eyes were red with worry for him. "I am not dying," he said after a while

"Who knows...You lied to me. You didn't even take me to the Qing Que festival. Who knows if you're dying or not. You won't say it. Do you want to leave me so bad Dong Hua? Do you want that Tang Yin..." She sobbed in his chest, accused him, said all she wanted to and more.

"I love you Di Jun. Please don't leave me alone. Whether you go to a battlefield or hell. I'll go with you everywhere. I want to be wherever you are. Always. Please..." she said. Her angry words just now had turned into sorrow and reluctance to let go.

"I won't," he said finally in a low voice. What do I do with you, Xiao Bai? He thought as his gaze once again lingered on the jade.

"This jade is specially made for catching those who use dark magic?" he murmured to himself while hugging Feng Jiu tightly who was still in a daze.

"Yes, One of my functions. See master how helpful I am. You have to reward me later." It said. Feng Jiu looked down at it and then at Dong Hua.

"How...how can I reward you..." she mumbled in confusion.

"Ah, do you know to block that girl I will have to use my previous master's half essence? It won't ever recover and I'd be asleep for thousands of years. However, if you feed me lots of infernal spirit grass, I can still wake up and perform basic functions for you and talk to you. And also I will heal faster as long as your cultivation increases and you can use the techniques in Nine Pagodas." it replied. Feng Jiu didn't know what it was but she replied with an okay. Dong Hua looked down at the little buddy thoughtfully and pulled away,

"You haven't healed," she said and hugged him again.

"She's here Xiao Bai. Be good, I can handle her now." he coaxed her staring into her eyes, but before she could let go a gust of red wind blew at very high speed and stabbed into Feng Jiu.

Dong Hua panicked. Feng Jiu seemed to be having an internal conflict as she fell to the ground and Tang Yin appeared just behind her.

"Xiao Bai!" Dong Hua froze. What he was fearing finally happened. Tang Yin was absorbing Feng Jiu cultivation and Lifeforce.

"I won't take her soul and body just yet. Leave a little life force to do what I promised you."  Tang Yin smirked. Dong Hua bent down to touch Feng Jiu. Her body was repelling Tang Yin's force but it was too late. It was inside her pushing her to let go of her life. But Feng Jiu was holding on. That's why she was suffering even more. She was trembling violently. The only thing to be done was to kill Tang Yin. But Dong Hua was so struck by fear, he couldn't move. His system just stopped working when Feng Jiu fell in his embrace and groaned in pain. His hands trembled. Gunsha glowed again and again and flew towards him.

Dong Hua's eyes became cold and he finally stood up with the medallion. Gunsha hurriedly pounced on it and became one with the medallion. Tang Yin frowned and something clicked to her. But Dong Hua was fast enough not to let her go. The jade immediately froze her in the same space and time. She became a realistic statue and nothing more in just a breath. But nonetheless, Cang He cut straight through her and shattered her into million pieces. Gunsha also fainted and fell in Dong Hua's palm.
