{8} Found my little fox

Bold - Dong Hua's thought bubble

Bold Italic - XiaoBai (Little Bai)

---

Dong Hua was meditating early in the morning midst of the woods. That's when the jade necklace illuminated. He opened his eyes and took it out. Xiao Huli (Little fox) is it nearby?

He stood up and started to go through the forest. The jade necklace kept on blinking and then it became completely illuminated. That's when he saw a little fox playing with a butterfly. It looked so blissful. He stared and furrowed his brows. But it was a nine-tailed fox. The Mufeng butterfly sat on its nose and its nine red tails danced in the air. It was a sight that blessed the eyes. After all, the true form of Feng Jiu could be resisted by a few.

Dong Hua still stared at her. Then a huge spider appeared and ate the Mufeng butterfly which hovered over the foxes' head. Feng Jiu changed back into her human form and gasped. It was all too sudden.

"Mufeng..." she murmured. The spider had purple eyes and was huge. Its front legs were sharp and poisonous. It threw its poison web on Feng Jiu. Dong Hua extended his hand but before he could use his powers Feng Jiu had dodged the web. Honestly, he was impressed, just like the first time he had seen the fox fight off the ghosts.

You're so dead. She jumped into the air and stabbed the spider in the eye. It writhed in pain and threw Feng Jiu away with his front legs and released its poison blindly. But the next moment she was in a man's arms. The man with the silver hair. She froze. They made a whirl in the air and landed on the ground. Dong Hua put her down but her arms were still wrapped around his neck. She couldn't tear her eyes away from Dong Hua. More so she was extremely surprised.

Is it a dream? Di Jun? Di jun...

//(Lyrics from elod ost)

We reunite again like meeting for the first time

When your concern strings my heart

The sea of flowers softly swaying

When the endless loneliness touches your eyes

"When do you plan to let me go?" He asked raising an eyebrow. She was stunned. He looked so beautiful and when he raised his eyebrows, so cute. He removed her hands himself. His soft touch tingled her skin. She turned her head away from him embarrassed. She took a step back and greeted him cupping her hands. Her head was Bowed but she looked at him though her lashes.

"Forgive me for being rude just now." she blurted out.

"Forget it." He said turning sideways and putting his hands on his back. Feng Jiu adjusted her hair and breathed. Dong Hua looked at her from the corner of his eyes and saw a familiar item on her wrist.

This bell. I can't be mistaken, I carved it myself.

She was Bai Feng Jiu from Qingque. How could she be his little fox? But she was without a doubt. The bell created a soft jingle. She noticed dong Hua's eyes on her wrist and she covered it immediately.

He won't recognize it right? There must be similar bells.

"You are Bai Feng Jiu?"

"Yes," She replied. She was surprised Dong Hua remembered her. And it was strange that he was talking to her. The Di jun she knew would have walked away by now. And if she had been the previous Feng Jiu she would have followed him endlessly. She smiled at him. She really smiled like a fool like she would in the past.

"Do you know that spider released its poison on you?" He said.

"It did?" she asked as if he asked her about some Buddhist scriptures and looked upwards trying to remember and gasped.

Wait it threw its poison on me. But it's not on my skin. Don't tell me I swallowed it. I did.

She deliberately coughed. Then she remembered the time Dong Hua had fooled her into believing she was pregnant. Such a respected god, fooling a fairy like me? Di Jun I am stupid but not even that much. She coughed once more.

"Turn around."

"Thank you Di Jun but I don't think I swallowed its venom."

"Swallowed?" Di jun asked. There was a hint of a smile on Di jun's face he slightly pouted and raised his eyebrows.

"What?" she asked when she saw Di Jun didn't move his eyes away. She was the only one to talk to Di Jun like that. Even the Heavenly lord couldn't enquire Di Jun's actions.

She summoned her sword immediately as she saw the spider rising up again from behind Dong Hua. But before she could attack, the spider was already in flames of a light blue fire.

"Wow, the fire is blue!" Her eyes shined.

"Don't you know the blue flame is the most powerful?" He said and leaned into Feng jiu when she was busy admiring the great god's powers. He did a move with his fingers on her neck and she fell into his arms unconscious. Her neck area was already a shade of purple.

How careless. She doesn't even realize she's been poisoned.

He carried her to the place where he was meditating and ensconced her near a tree. He sat behind her and treated her using his powers. She trembled a little and her eyes were closed tightly creating a crease on her forehead. When he was done he used lethargic formula on her and she fell asleep, otherwise, she would have to bear the pain even if the poison was cured.

Meanwhile in Nine Heavens

Cheng yu was collecting the flowers of the sorrowless cakes early in the morning, Recently she had been very bored. She thought she'd give those to Feng Jiu so that she could make cakes and also gossip. Then she came across Lian Song. He was trying a new magical weapon that looked weird rather than useful.

"That Dong Hua told me he'd help me make this and now he ditched me." He murmured.

"Third Prince, what are you doing?" She asked. He turned towards her immediately.

"Cheng Yu." he smiled. "Oh, I... just made a new weapon. Would you like to try it?" he walked closer to her.

"I'd rather not." she said crossing her arms. "Is it even useful?"

"Come with me." He said, diminishing the size of his magic weapon and taking out his fan instead. She pouted. "Just come..." he took her hand and lead her somewhere. She opened her mouth to say something but then closed it.

"Ayy, where are you taking me all of a sudden?"

"You'll know...just come...and don't kick me." Cheng Yu reluctantly followed him.

He grinned to himself.

"Ayy...you better leave my hand. hey!"
