{37} Tang Yin possessing Feng Jiu's mind

It was morning. Dong Hua walked into Feng Jiu's room and tried to wake her up but every time she would unconsciously shove him away. Eventually, he shook his head and drew the blinds. But Feng Jiu buried herself in her blanket. Smiling a bit Dong Hua left the room.

When he came back Feng Jiu was sitting up. Her eyes were closed tightly. The sun shone on her skin. Her hair was a little messed up. She still looked pretty. His eyes were fixed on her as he sat beside her and handed her the cup of tea.

"Hmm?" she groaned.

"Tea," he said softly. She extended her hand. Her eyes still closed. But she was still half asleep. She retrieved her hand and did the action of drinking although she had only grabbed air. Dong Hua couldn't help but chuckle. It was a genuine and wide smile with a bit of amusement which was something you'd probably never see on his face. But here it was. He grabbed her hand and she seemed to wake up and this time he made sure she actually grabbed the cup.

The tea went into her system and she finally woke up. She gazed at Dong Hua with sleepy eyes and a cute smile. "I'm missing Qing Que. But I like it here."

"I bet you don't miss your servant though. Because it's me taking care of you," he said concealing his smile.

"Hey. Oh, please I don't need care. I'm fully grown up. Even back home I only had one housekeeper Mi Gu. Ask him If he had to take care of me or not. I might be a princess but..."

"Shh. I like taking care of you, Xiao Bai. You can be you in front of me. You don't need to hide from me." he said hushing her. She blinked her eyes dramatically.

"You too. You can be you in front of me too," she then said. He smiled inwardly.

Feng Jiu was trying to make homemade pancakes. It was one thing that she had come to love after coming to the mortal realm.

"Whoop Finally!" She looked excitedly over the pancake and then gave it to Dong Hua. It was the first pancake she made. She smiled at him sweetly.

"Why does he get the first one? we're all here." Lian Song said with a pout. Cheng Yu shook her head exactly seeing through her bestie who was blinded by love. Those sweet smiles, how could she not detect that yet again Feng Jiu had let hope reach out to her. But in the end she smiled. As long as she was happy, that was all that mattered.

"More?" she asked while she was pouring honey over his pancake totally ignoring third prince. Dong Hua nodded and said, "I like sweets."

"Then I'll make a lot of sweets for you from now on." she said winking. She said and went back to cooking. Dong Hua smirked while looking at Lian Song and he just gaped at the whole situation.

"Si Ming man, You're missing on this. I can't believe you're missing this. My gossip mate." He murmured. Cheng Yu rolled her eyes. In that moment Fang Lei stepped in, somewhat dispirited than before but he smiled bitterly as he saw Feng Jiu smiling and humming while she was cooking.

Behind from Fang Lei a slender figure approached. She was a beautiful girl yet pale-faced. But even then her beauty was rather amplified. As they came in further, everyone's eyes began to linger on her. They gasped in surprise.

"Ji Heng?" Cheng Yu stared at her wide-eyed. Ji Heng bit her lip and clasped hands. Ignoring most of them. Her focus was on Dong Hua who slightly turned his head to look at her and nodded.

"Yan found her?" Lian Song asked.

"No, Yan Chiwu is missing."

"What?" It was Feng Jiu. She frowned. Upon looking at Ji Heng her good mood was replaced with an unprecedented feeling. Perhaps jealousy. She quickly overcame that though. Her main concern was Yan Chiwu now. "What do you mean he's missing? What could possibly harm him here?" Feng Jiu freaked out. After all Yan Chiwu had been nothing but a great friend all this time.

"Calm down Feng Jiu. I'm sure he's just looking for Ji Heng. I'm tyring to track him down okay?" Fang Lei said. Seeing Feng jiu's frown deepen he proceeded towards her and said, "It's not a big deal perhaps he's playing a prank." Then he bent towards Feng Jiu's ear and whispered. "When he discovers that I found Ji Heng earlier than him, now that would be worth it."

Feng Jiu giggled. "Yes." she said mischievously. "Perhaps we can surprise him," she whispered back. Ji heng's gaze lingered on Feng Jiu, who clasped her hands and introduced herself. Lian Song looked at Dong Hua, whose eyes seemed to be drilling a hole on Fang Lei's face.

"Mighty Di Jun are you afraid that the mermaid prince would take your fox away?" he whispered teasingly. Upon hearing that Cheng Yu almost spit her tea out. Dong Hua narrowed his eyes at Lian Song and ignoring him he stood up. Ji Heng Immediately ran towards him and clasped her hands.

"Why does everyone ignore me?" Lian Song said as if he was on a verge of breakdown. Although he was exaggerating of course.

"Greetings Di Jun. But may I ask why are you guys looking for me? Did my brother..."

"Yan Chiwu wanted to find you. As for you I think you're doing well here." Dong Hua said, not even bothering to look at Ji Heng properly.

"That demon lord again?" Ji Heng huffed. "It's all thanks to you Di Jun. But unfortunately, she died..." Ji Heng said grief visible in her eyes. It wasn't grief of losing love but also a great friendship.

"I can treat your poison for you once and for all. That way the debt that I owe your father will be paid. So no need for thanks. I'm only doing this for your father." he said coldly as ever. Ji Heng looked at him for a moment and then nodded. Feng Jiu looked at them biting her lip. Seeing that Dong Hua her heart calmed.

Soon everybody left. Even Fang Lei. He left to look for Yan Chiwu. Feng Jiu walked in after closing the doors behind her. She shivered.

"I should really tell Dong Hua to remove these seals. It's too cold sometimes," she murmured as she shivered yet again. A few moments later a light came from Dong Hua's room. Feng Jiu went in through the opened door.

Di Jun is using his powers to help Ji Heng...It wouldn't injure him would it? He might be a great god who fears no pain but I do. I fear his pain.

She sighed as she slowly stepped in. "Dong Hua." she murmured softly, not loud enough. But Dong Hua's eyes opened. Ji Heng also frowned. She was being treated and was at a critical juncture. Her face paled as the cold toxin was extracted out. Suddenly a strange energy appeared around Feng Jiu and she shivered again. When she looked back at Dong Hua he was staring at her. But with anger. Actually he wasn't exactly looking at her but the strange fluctuations around her. But it seemed like he was indeed glaring at her. Feng Jiu froze. She looked down.

"Sorry to disturb you." she said quietly and turned to leave. She ran outside and ran until she was back in her room. She jumped into her bed.

Di Jun...

She felt nothing more than an urge to cry. Perhaps Ji Heng really was more important than Feng Jiu in Dong Hua's heart. Perhaps he had been swayed upon finding Ji Heng. Perhaps it was all an act and he didn't want to reveal his feelings in front of everyone. That upon her arrival he was afraid that it would harm the process and she would be injured again because of her. Is that why he glared at her? Perhaps she was really nothing more than a wild fox to him. All thoughts swirled around in her head, finally causing a tear to role down her cheek. She wiped it away quickly but then another tear roled down her cheek.

Back in Dong Hua's room. Dong Hua quickly finished the process and stood up.

"Go back to the cave to meditate," he said and quickly ran behind Feng Jiu. Before Ji Heng could even open her mouth he was gone. He knocked on her door but got no reply. He tried to step in but the door was locked. Although he could just teleport in, he didn't.

"I'm tired." her faint voice reached his ears. His heart trembled.

"Are you okay?"

"Yes." she replied. He sighed in relief and let out his divine sense. This time he found nothing unusual around her. Still his face was somber.

"Tang Yin..." he murmured to himself. "Don't you dare." Then he silently left after giving the closed door a glance. His only worry right now was Feng Jiu. Whatever ambitions Tang Yin had didn't matter. They would be solved when they returned but regarding Feng Jiu his anxiety deepened. That was partly because he knew of the crazy personality Tang Yin had half because she used dark magics. If she became any crazier it would be out of hand. Because of this reason it was hard to detect her moves. They might not be intelligent moves but whatever she did was definitely diabolical.

-----------

Feng Jiu was drinking the last bits of wine she had brought from QingQue. They were all inside a small cozy restaurant. They weren't specifically trying to drink like last time she got drunk. In Qing que as a child, that too mischievous one she obviously stole wine from Zhe Yan's Peach blossoms many times. At first, she would be so drunk that she would be out for three-four days. Her aunt was the same. But since she was much much older she could now be considered a good drinker. But even after drinking with her aunt for so many years she still couldn't hold it well.

She occasionally secretly glared at Dong Hua, which Cheng Yu noticed and she, in turn, glared at Dong Hua too. Lian Song occasionally made weird comments no one paid attention to.

The only one who wasn't drunk was Dong Hua. That was because he hadn't drunk at all. No one knew what level he was at drinking because he basically never drank alcohol. He seemed lost in thought not noticing the two glaring ladies. While Fang Lei was fully drunk even, murmuring a few words that absolutely didn't make a sentence but he would also laugh bitterly a few times. It was weird.

As for Feng Jiu, now she was knocked out on the table. Cheng Yu was busy carrying Lian Song into a Taxi. While the Taxi driver helped Fang Lei in. Cheng Yu's eyes were also half-closed but she was much more aware of her surroundings. She smiled and clasped hands at Dong Hua.

"Take care of Xiao Jiu for me," she said and turned away but then stopped. "And don't give her false hopes Di Jun. If you like her then go ahead. Otherwise just don't." she said almost as if she was angry. The lively atmosphere from a few hours ago when everyone was drinking and laughing was gone. Although Dong Hua had felt a little weird he felt that it wasn't that bad. But now that everyone was drunk and Cheng Yu's words caused him to frown then he simply nodded. Cheng Yu was the type to care a lot about friends. She was the kind of person who'd keep friendships above anything. An upright friend who'd stand up for you every time was a true blessing. Of course, Feng Jiu would do the same. Although she was sure that the third prince loved Cheng Yu very much.

Cheng Yu gave Dong Hua a last look and then left. Lian Song leaned against her shoulder and started talking about how much he loved her and how brutally she treated him. She felt like an entire headache was coming on as if the alcohol wasn't enough to make her head swirl.

"A vortex spun behind Feng Jiu inside the restaurant. It was visible to none. Yet it was stronger than before and emanated an aura of evil and madness it didn't before. Perhaps something in Feng Jiu was attracting it. Seeing Dong Hua was not around it grew bigger and then shrank and shrank and entered her mind. Suddenly she shivered and her eyes snapped open.

Listen, girl. Queen of Qingque. I'm also a former queen of a great sect. And you have something of mine. Transcend your immortal tribulation and the seal would be removed. Then give it back to me. A voice spoke in her head. Her mind trembled.

Who are you? She murmured.

Return it to me. The voice said as if a command was being transmitted. It was none other than Tang Yin. The words echoed out in Feng Jiu's mind. Suddenly tribulation clouds appeared in the sky. Although they weren't visible to humans.

Tang Yin smiled back in her cave. "Even if you intercept she will be harmed by my magic and you will be forced to heal her. Once you're injured it will be easier," she murmured and laughed evilly.

"The path of your return to the heavenly realm has been blocked. The world of the ruins of the great two sects has opened. I will acquire the rest of the legacy and turn you into ash Dong Hua. I won't even need the stone. The day I acquire the legacy completely shall be the day my past glory returns. I would be powerful than before. Then I will take it away from the stone and add it to my crown again. That way the Five Vish serpent clan will accept me again and their lives would be in my hand again. I will have an ancestral awakening. Your soul would be locked in this Five evil lotus land of this jade for eternity and I will unify all the clans and thus there will be only one clan. Five Vish Blood serpent clan. As for the nine-tailed foxes of Qingque. They shall be the subject of the blood sacrifice for activating the great spells of my clan. The queen of Qingque. Let's see how long he can protect you"

Tang Yin gritted her teeth. Her eyes were Asure blue but then turned red with a murderous aura. All the pythons which were surrounding her trembled and stepped backward. It was pitch black as she came out of the cave and saw the seashore. Her eyes lingered on an island that was far away into the sea. It was where the former clan used to be. Her expression was one of madness that couldn't vanish and there was also sadness which couldn't vanish either but was covered with an icy diabolical smile.

"It's my fault Ruru," she murmured looking off into the distance and then flew away heading to the same place where Yan had gone missing. The cavern.
