Chengyu was having wine when Lian Song entered. She was a little drunk. She stood up and grinned at him in a silly way. The third Prince barely caught her when she lost her balance.

"Aww, you don't look like Xiao Jiu. You're a man!" She narrowed her eyes at him trying to focus.

"Jiu?" He said amazed. "I am the third prince."

"You!" Cheng yu pushed him away, feeling embarrassed. "How dare you...come here?" She blabbered. He smiled at her. He had been in love with her and almost everyone knew. He even wanted people to gossip about them, but sadly no one gossipped about them.

Bai Feng jiu, a child born in between a war with demons, no high immortal missed her first birthday. She disguised herself as a fairy maid in Tai Chen palace wanting to repay the favor of Dong Hua who had saved her from a wild beast in the forbidden land of demons when she was young. 

He also had to grant a wish to demons for that incident. The demon king wanted to wed his sister Ji Heng to Dong Hua.

 As she stayed in the palace she had to sleep with other maids regardless of her status of a princess and also got bullied by Dong Hua's foster sister who fancied him. Later he got trapped in Ten Evil lotus land while fighting the Green Demon lord Yan Chiwu. 

And although Di jun was more than capable she went inside to help him, but she was tricked by another demon lord who loved to collect fur and gave her fur away turning into an ordinary fox. He did give her his cultivation in return but that lasted half a day. 

Given it was Feng Jiu she jumped into the soul locking jade's ward without thinking much. 

Dong Hua was amazed to see the little fox. After they got out he took the fox with him to his palace in sky kingdom. Feng Jiu was happy to be near him, even as a fox. But as time went by she realized that to him she was just a pet. She was jealous of Ji heng who was going to marry Dong Hua and thus bit her. Dong Hua called Chong lin to lock her. But he let her go. She roamed around all sad when Ji heng's snow tiger almost killed her. It was Si Ming, the stars lord who saved her and took her to QingQue later. Si ming had always followed Dong Hua and was also friends with Feng Jiu. He cared about both of them. 

Coming to Tai Chen palace to visit Chengyu was a bad idea for Feng Jiu. The familiar feeling stirred her heart. And she was reminded of the time she spent running around and being petted by Di jun. How she ate his sweet and sour fish regardless of its auspicious taste. How she stamped her paws on his paintings, or how she listened to him talk his heart. She kept his company while he read Buddhist scriptures. How she secretly slept in his arms.

 She still remembered the little tricks he played on Si ming and Lian song, and how his smirk meant that someone had a hard time. She loved him too much and she loved him for too long. It's been a decade since she left the palace but it felt like yesterday. It was the same for Dong Hua, he still hoped to see the little fox again. 

She was at the gate when she met Si Ming.

"Your Highness." He greeted.

"Ayy, Si ming. How have you been?" she asked returning to her cheerful demeanor. 

"Very good, Feng Jiu highness."

"What about him?"

"Why don't you see for yourself?" He said, obviously joking. She shook her head no and smiled. 

She walked towards Cheng Yu's Palace with the pastries when she heard Lian Song scream. She was alarmed for a moment. But then laughed cutely to herself and ran towards her room to peek inside. Turned out Cheng Yu had stepped on Lian Song's feet after he said some love words which annoyed her. Another thing about Lian Song was that he was famous for being the sky kingdom's playboy. Although it was true he was good with words he only had Chengyu in his heart. 

He was holding his feet in pain.

"Cheng yu...you really..." he started to say when he sensed someone on the door. He used his magic arts and the door flew open. Feng Jiu was discovered eavesdropping. Her eyes went wide.

"Who are you?" 

"I'm the princess of Qing Que. I can come later if..." She cupped her hands and lowered her head unable to hide her smile.

"Feng jiu..." Cheng Yu laughed in a drunken way. 

"No, I'll take my leave." Lian Song said, cupping his hand. Feng Jiu returned his gesture. As he left, he raised an eyebrow to himself. 

Bai Feng Jiu placed the box of pastries on the table as she grinned at Cheng Yu. Cheng yu fell asleep almost immediately.

"Hey, Chengyu..." She tried to wake her up. She gave out a breath and sat down wrapping her hands around her knees.

"Chengyu, you once said that to move on I should love someone who loves me back right? But the thought of someone else except Di jun is so strange to me. I've been hurt but I keep wanting to steal a glance at him. He didn't marry but that doesn't mean we have fate with each other. Once I heard Si Ming say that...he and I don't have fate together. But..."

"Go see him then." Cheng yu murmured rubbing her eyes.

"Huh? Are you awake?"

"Mmm"

"Should I then? I'll just catch a glance...or a couple of glances without his knowledge." She stood up and giggled like a child. So simple-minded she was, little things could make her happy. But an even more deep sadness had surfaced in her cheerful eyes.

"I'll leave the pastries here." She announced and left energetically.
