The Ultimate Supreme Lady (6)

Later that day, Himiko was on her way to the cafeteria for lunch. On her way, she saw Leon, and one of her opponents, Junko, conversing.

"Don't even worry about it, Junko, you already have my vote!" Leon said.

"Great!" Junko replied, handing him a "Junko For Prez" button, and shaking his hand. "With me as your president, I'll  make sure your dream to be the Ultimate Musician will come true!" Himiko let out a sharp gasp. That was Ibuki's talent! Was Leon trying to steal it? Himiko was unable to learn anymore because the two heard her gasp.

"Well, look who it is," Junko said haughtily. "It's the little wannabe Kokichi."

"Just because you dress like him doesn't make you smart," Leon sneered.

"Right? Why does she even bother?" Junko agreed. "She doesn't even come close when it comes to his intelligence. And that dress is super tacky! Dumb and unfashionable...it should be a crime! You should be locked up tight and have the key thrown away." Junko and Leon laughed at her. Himiko turned red with anger and embarrassment. She felt tears sting her eyes, but forced them to not roll down her cheeks. Wordlessly, she marched on, trying her best to ignore them. As she walked by, Leon stuck his foot out, causing her to trip. Kokichi's hat skidded across the floor. As she reached to grab it, Leon stepped on it and, with his foot, slid it to a dirty corner of the hallway.

"No!" Himiko cried out, reaching towards Kokichi's hat. Junko and Leon merely laughed at her as they walked past.

"Pfft...stupid, ugly bitch," Leon muttered. Junko snickered as they rounded the corner, disappearing from Himiko's sight. Himiko stood up and rushed over to Kokichi's hat. It was full of dust, and a wad of gum had stuck to it. To see something belonging to the person she admired so much filthy and treated with disrespect made her feel sad. But she also felt something even stronger: rage. With her magic, she made Kokichi's hat good as new as the filth disappeared immediately from it. She placed it back on her head with a determination stronger than ever alongside a feeling of unrelenting rage and hatred. How she despised Leon and Junko! How she wanted so badly for them to suffer just as they made her suffer. At that moment, she decided that she was going to win this election, no matter what.

She marched her way to the cafeteria, once again, scanning the room for someone else who she knew would vote for her. She remembered what Kokichi had told her the night before about Kaito being dumb, yet charismatic and had a sudden idea. She looked around for him until she spied him eating with Maki and Shuichi. She was disappointed to see Maki and Shuichi, but she was determined not to give up. She headed over to them and could see that they were already wearing Kaede's buttons, but she decided not to let that sway her, either.

"Kaito, is it alright if I talk to you?" Himiko asked with a smile. She was trying her best to appear friendly and optimistic.

"Well, of course!" Kaito replied. "Oh! Congrats on runnin' for president, Himiko!"

   "Thanks," Himiko replied.

"If you're here to get us to vote for you, you're too late," Maki said. "We've already made up our minds to vote for Kaede."

"Sorry, Himiko," Shuichi apologized with a sheepish shrug. "But, I'm sure you'll have other opportunities to run!"

"My soul bro is right!" Kaito said. "Don't give up!" Himiko's brain was working furiously. She had to execute this just right. She knew that Kaito's influence, especially on Maki and Shuichi, was strong. She knew Kaito was a source of inspiration, so if she could sway Kaito to vote for her, perhaps Maki and Shuichi would, right?

"Hey, why are you dressed like Kokichi, anyway?" Maki asked.

"Nyeh...it just helps me feel more confident," Himiko simply replied. "He's my inspiration, after all!"

"I'd say that's stupidly cute, but...this is Kokichi we're talking about," Maki said.

"Yeah, Himiko, I know he's your boyfriend, but being inspired by him probably isn't the best idea," Shuichi agreed. Himiko felt anger rising inside of her, but forced herself to quell it.

"Nyeh...he's a great leader, though," she countered.

"Kokichi?! A great leader?! " Kaito exclaimed. "No offense, Himiko, but...not really!" Himiko eyed Kaito intensely as she calculated her next move. Then, she smiled at him.

"Yeah...I guess you're right," she said with a bittersweet sigh.

"Huh? Really?" Shuichi asked, raising his eyebrows in surprise.

"Yeah, as much as I wanna believe that Kokichi's a great leader, it's just...not true," Himiko answered.

"Well, as long as you admit it," Maki said.

"But, you're an amazing leader, Kaito!" Himiko continued, looking Kaito straight in the eye. She gave him a sad smile. "That's why I came to you in the first place, to fill me with inspiration like you do with everyone else. Nobody else thinks I can do this, but you...you say that the impossible is possible. But...I guess you really don't believe that if you wanna vote for Kaede."

"Of course I believe the impossible is possible!" Kaito said. "Why would you say otherwise?"

"Because you think that it's it's impossible for me to win this election, don't you?" Himiko replied.

   "W-Well...n-no?" Kaito stammered.

"It's okay," Himiko said. "You don't have to lie. I see it written all over your face. I guess it was wrong of me to think that you'd believe in me. You're not the guy who believes in everyone like you say you are." She stood up dejectedly from her chair, and turned to leave.

"Wait! Himiko! Sit back down," Kaito said. Himiko felt her heart skip a beat. Her plan was working!

"Nyeh...what is it?" she asked, forcing herself to hide her excitement.

"Okay, then, Himiko! If it's that important to you, I'll do it!" Kaito said.

   "D-Do what?!" Shuichi exclaimed.

"Vote for Himiko, of course!" Kaito responded. "I believe in her! I believe that she'll make the impossible possible!"

"But we promised Kaede that we'd vote for her!" Shuichi countered.

"Himiko, do you even have an agenda?" Maki asked.

"My agenda...is all of you," Himiko replied.

"What?" Shuichi asked. "What do you mean, Himiko?"

"Nyeh...this isn't all about me, y'know," Himiko explained. "It's about all of you. My job as class president is to serve everyone else. So whatever plan you have to make the school a better place, that's my plan, as well."

"Haha, sounds good to me!" Kaito said, giving Himiko a thumbs-up.

"So, in other words, you don't have a plan to improve our school life here," Shuichi said to Himiko.

"Let me ask you this, Shuichi," Himiko said, now focusing on him. "What was Kaede's plan? Hmm?"

"Ah, w-well...she was planning on turning the cafeteria into some kind of fancy restaurant-type setting where we can listen to her play the grand piano live," Shuichi said. Himiko waited in silence for him to finish.

"What else?" she asked, motioning with her hand for him to continue. Shuichi blushed.

   "Ah...um...that's it," he mumbled sheepishly.

   "I see," Himiko replied.

"She said she wanted everyone to have a nice, relaxing environment here at school," Shuichi said.

"It sounds to me like an excuse for her to play the piano," Himiko said. "Did she ask what you guys wanted?"

    "Well...no," Shuichi answered.

"Well, that's what I'm here for," Himiko said. "I'm here for you guys."

"Sounds like a bunch of promises you can't keep," Maki said.

"Nyeh...don't worry so much about it, Maki Roll," Himiko assured. She made three roses appear from her sleeves. She handed Maki a red one, a black one to Shuichi, and the last one to Kaito, a rose with petals made to look like a glittering galaxy.

   "WHOA!!" Kaito exclaimed with delight.

"Just tell me what you guys want, and I will make it happen...like magiiiic!" Himiko said with an impish grin.

Later that evening, back home in her room, Himiko felt excitement coursing through her veins. She was able to dupe Kaito! She wasn't exactly sure she convinced Maki and Shuichi, but she was happy enough to have manipulated Kaito, at least.

"Now for my next phase of the plan!" she said in a low mischievous voice as she hid in her closet where she kept her Kokichi shrine. She was speaking to the Kokichi wax effigy that Angie had sculpted for her a while back. "I have the two most important people in my clutches: Kaito and Gonta! They'll get the others to vote for me, and soon, I'll be class president! Mwa-hahahahahaaaaaa!!!" She sighed longingly as she stared at the wax effigy. "Oh, Kokichi...if only you were here to see me. I hope you'll be proud of me. The plan is going well." She suddenly felt the anger from before rising in her again. "Nobody believes I can do this," she growled. "They all think I'm stupid and incompetent...but I'll show them! I'll show them all! And then they have the audacity to mock and disrespect you! I'll make sure they pay for that, too! And you...my Panta Bear...you'll be so proud of me! Eeeeee!! I can't wait!" She wrapped her arms lovingly around the wax effigy's neck, and twirled the purple strands of hair.

"Nyeh...I miss you, Panta Bear," she whispered. "So much that I'm going crazy, talking to a wax effigy of you and all. But, who cares, right?! A-hahahahaha! Besides, it's my duty as supreme lady to take after you when you're gone, so that you'll never be forgotten!" She caught her breath and widened her eyes in surprise. "Nyeh...I sound like a creepy fangirl right now. I really need to get out of here." She threw on her magician cape before exiting her closet and headed downstairs, knocking on both Gonta and Kaito's doors.

"Hello, Himiko!" Gonta said with a cheerful smile.

   "Yeah, what's up?" Kaito asked.

"Follow me outside, please. I need to talk to you," Himiko answered. Gonta and Kaito followed her outside.

"So, what's the problem, Himiko?" Kaito asked.

"I can't do this alone," Himiko said. "I need you two to help me get more votes."

"Huh? Why do we gotta do that?" Kaito asked.

"Because everyone loves you two," Himiko replied. "Kaito, you're an inspirational guy! Not to mention, everyone loves the hero! And Gonta, you're a gentleman that nobody can resist! With your guys' help, I'll be class president for suresies!"

"Well, I can't argue with that!" Kaito replied. "I am the Luminary of the Stars! Don't worry, Himiko! I'll spread the word!" With that, Kaito left to the other houses.

"Nyeh...you, too, Gonta," Himiko said. "Oh! And make sure you tell everyone about your bughouse dream! That's what you want, riiiight?"

"Yes! Gonta will let everyone know!" Gonta replied excitedly.

"Excellent!" Himiko said. She pulled a rose out from her sleeve and handed it to Gonta. Then, she folded her cape and opened it again with a dramatic flourish as dozens of butterflies flew out and fluttered around Gonta. Gonta marveled at the magical butterflies.

"Himiko! They are beautiful!" he gushed.

"They're all yours!" Himiko said with an elegant bow. "Now...off you go!" She waved him off, and Gonta rushed off to spread the word. Himiko smiled deviously to herself. "Nee-heehee...I got 'em right where I want 'em."
