Fairy Godgirlfriend (Fairytale AU) (16)

It was the next day at Hope's Peak Academy, the day before the Friday night school dance. Kokichi and Himiko were on their way to lunch.

"Hey, Himiko? I'll be right back. I gotta go use the bathroom, okay?" Kokichi said, pointing to the boys bathroom.

"What exactly do you do in there?" Himiko asked. Kokichi chuckled and shook his head before putting his hand on Himiko's shoulder.

"We are not having this conversation," he said. "Here, just wait for me next to the bathroom door. I'll be right out, 'kay?" Himiko smiled and nodded.

"Nyeh...okay," she replied. Kokichi reached out and stroked her cheek, which made Himiko smile and scrunch her shoulders with glee. Kokichi then chuckled before heading into the bathroom. As Himiko waited, Tenko fervently walked up to her.

"Hi, Himiko!" she exclaimed enthusiastically. Himiko's smile faltered a bit.

"Nyeh...hello," she replied with a polite nod.

"Do you remember me?" Tenko asked hopefully. Himiko nodded hesitantly, wondering why Tenko would ask that.

"Yeees...I met you in the classroom of the numbers, and we share the same bedroom," Himiko replied.

"OH, MY GOSH!! YOU DO REMEMBER ME!!!" Tenko squealed. "See? This is why we should be best friends, Himiko! We know each other so well!"

   "Um...I don't think that's true," Himiko mumbled.

"Of course it's true!" Tenko said. "I know your hair color, your height, and that you're a girl! I basically know everything about you!"

"Nyeh...that's not all there is to know about me," Himiko replied. Tenko gasped with delight.

"You mean, there's more to you than that?!" she squealed. "Wow, Himiko! You're a totally cool mysterious girl! You should show me your magic powers!" Himiko raised her eyebrows in surprise.

"Nyeh...how did you know I have magic powers?" she asked with a smile.

"Well, you're the Ultimate Magician, right? Of course you'd have magical powers!" Tenko answered.

"Oh...oh! Oh, yes...you're right," Himiko replied, silently cursing herself. She had forgotten that she was supposed to have kept quiet about her magic. But if Tenko thought that Himiko had magic powers because she was a magician and not a fairy, then she supposed it was okay, so long as she didn't reveal her actual magic to Tenko.

"Anyway, you have to leave, now," Himiko continued. "I'm waiting for Koki-"

"Actually, Himiko...I don't mean to interrupt you, but I wanted to ask you something important," Tenko said. She started nervously fiddling with her pigtail.

"Nyeh? What is it?" Himiko asked.

"Well...you know about the school dance tomorrow, right?" Tenko asked. Himiko turned her head away and gave Tenko the side eye.

"What about it?" she asked with suspicion.

"I was wondering if you...wanted to hang out with me?" Tenko asked hopefully. "You know, since we're BFFs."

"I never said we were," Himiko replied firmly. "And besides, I'm going with Kokichi."

"Oh, Himiko! Can't you see that Kokichi is bad for you?" Tenko cried.

"He is not really bad," Himiko countered. "You would see that he is nice if you took the time to get to know him."

"But, he's a liar, remember?" Tenko said. "He could be pretending to be nice to you!" Himiko turned to Tenko and began wagging her finger at her.

"Nyeh...I will have you know, Troika, that I don't appreciate you calling him bad and a liar, especially since you're a liar, too!" Himiko said.

"Me?! B-But...I'm not a liar!" Tenko exclaimed with a hurt expression.

"You say that we are...'BFFs,' and you claim that you know everything about me, but you don't! You're a liar!" Himiko explained. "If you really knew me well, you'd know that you make me scared and uncomfortable every time you talk to me! But you don't even seem to care! Not only that, your first instinct is to resort to violence when someone makes you angry. If you're going to call Kokichi bad, you should realize that you're just as bad! Hmph!" Himiko turned away from Tenko.

"Himiko...I...I'm so sorry," Tenko said softly. "I-I'm not trying to make you uncomfortable. I just...really admire you."

"Why?" Himiko asked with a frown. "What is it about me that you admire?"

"Well...you're a magician," Tenko replied. "I admire girls who perform. Plus, you're just really adorable!"

"Nyeh...those aren't very good reasons to like someone," Himiko said. "You don't know my personality. What if I was a very mean girl?"

"But, you can't be! I know that's not what you are!" Tenko said. Himiko took a deep breath and stared Tenko in the eye.

"Remember when you were chasing Leon around yesterday?" she asked.

"Yeah, I was mad at him because he dug his face into my butt!" Tenko growled, remembering the incident.

"No, it's because I tripped him and made him fall on you," Himiko said. Tenko's eyes bugged out of her skull.

"Himiko, why would you do that?!" she exclaimed incredulously.

"It was to get back at Leon for tripping me before," Himiko answered.

"Did Kokichi put you up to that?" Tenko asked. Himiko opened her mouth, but thought of her answer.

"It was both of our decision," she replied. "He planned to make Leon trip all over Sayaka at first, but I said that we should choose you, instead."

"Himiko..." Tenko gasped with a hurt expression. "Why?"

"Because you're very violent. And since you were going to throw Kokichi the other day just for saying mean things to you, I figured you'd do the same to Leon," Himiko replied.

"You have a devious brain! Just like Kokichi!" Tenko exclaimed in horror.

"You're probably right, but it goes to show that you don't know me very well after all," Himiko replied with a firm nod. At that moment, Kokichi came out of the bathroom. Himiko smiled at him.

"Ready to go?" he asked her, holding his hand out to her. Himiko nodded and took his hand.

"Nyeh...yes, I am," she replied. With one last stern glance at Tenko, she turned and walked away with Kokichi. Tenko gaped as she watched them walk away. Then, she clenched her fists.

"Don't worry, Himiko," she muttered to herself, glaring daggers at Kokichi. "I'll rescue you from Kokichi's evil clutches." Then, she turned and stomped the other way. Little did she know that a certain someone had been watching them the entire time.
