Kokichi and Himiko's Great Penguin Rescue (12)

"Welp...we're stranded," Two said, plopping himself down onto the ice.

"What do we do now, Kokichi?" Three asked worriedly. Kokichi uttered a pensive grunt as he looked around for anything to drag them to shore.

"I know what we can do!" Four said, kneeling down next to the edge of the ice sheet. He reached his gloved hand for the water.

"Ichiro, I wouldn't-" Kokichi began, but Four wasn't listening. He stuck his hand into the water, and yanked it back out, screeching in surprise.

"THAT WATER IS SO COLD!!!" he yelped, jumping to his feet and shaking the water off his hand.

"No dip, you freak!" Six exclaimed. "We're at the bottom of the world! What did you expect?!" Four glared at him.

"I expect you to stop breathing down my neck with your hot-ass breath," he growled in annoyance. Six immediately fell quiet and clamped his lips shut tighter.

"Hahahahaha...your breath is hot!" Ten laughed. Three giggled, as well, and pointed to Six.

"If you were on Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, the song they'd choose for you towards the end of the show would go, 'Hot breath, hot breath, hot diggity breath! ' Hahahaha!!"

"Shut up," Six growled, blushing with anger and embarrassment.

"Better not breathe too hard while we're here, Rikuto," Five snickered. "You're going to melt all the ice and cause a flood!"

"We're in danger just standing on this little block of ice!" Two laughed.

   "Grrrr...I said sh-" Six started.

"SHAAAARK!!!" Five shrieked in fear. Everyone turned to see a tall, black dorsal fin protruding from the water and whizzing straight towards them. Suddenly, the fin submerged under the water, leaving everyone in stunned, fearful silence.

"I don't think that was a shark, Emi," Kokichi said. He quickly slid Pinkwin into his coat.

"W-What...what was it, then?" Five breathed with fear. Suddenly, the finned creature burst out of the water, its black and white skin glinting in the sunlight, right before crashing back down into the water. Another fin emerged from the other side of the ice sheet. Soon, the two creatures began circling around the surprised youngsters.

"They're killer whales!!" Four yelled excitedly. "I've seen these things on Happy Feet!!" Five crouched to the ground in terror.

"Aaah! I thought whales were gentle creatures!!" she screamed. "Why do they wanna kill us?!"

"Actually, killer whales aren't really whales," Seven pointed out. "They're dolphins."

"THEN WHY AREN'T THEY CALLED KILLER DOLPHINS?! I'M SO CONFUSED...AND SCARED!!" Five cried, clutching her head tightly with her hands.

"A-Are they going to eat us?" Nine asked as the killer whales continued to swim around the sheet of ice, causing the ice to rock back nd forth.

"I don't think so," Kokichi said. "Killer whales are pretty smart. I don't think they recognize us as prey. They're probably just curious."

"WELL, MAKE THEM GO AWAY, ALREADY!!!" Five shrieked fearfully.

"Rikuto, breathe on them!!" Four joked.

"SHUT UP!!!" Six shouted, glaring at Four.

"Maybe we should make ourselves look bigger," Two suggested. "That usually makes animals go away."

"I think that works on a bear, not an orca," Nine said.

"Okay, well, do you have a better idea?" Two asked.

    "Well...no..." Nine replied sheepishly.

"I DON'T CARE WHO COMES UP WITH WHAT!! JUST MAKE THE NIGHTMARE DOLPHINS GO AWAY!!!" Five screamed.

"Yeah, screaming will definitely work, Emi," Three said sarcastically. "They're not even doing anything!" As Kokichi's cohorts argued amongst themselves, Kokichi knelt next to Himiko.

"Nyeh...are you going to make them stop arguing?" Himiko asked weakly. Kokichi looked back at his associates.

"No," he replied, keeping his voice low. "They're distracted right now, which is actually good. Himiko, do you feel drained of your magic whenever you to talk to animals?"

   "No..." Himiko replied. "Why?"

"I'll make sure the others stay distracted," Kokichi answered. "I need you to talk to the killer whales and ask them to help push us ashore. Can you do that?"

   "Okay..." Himiko replied sleepily.

"Are you absolutely sure, Himiko?" Kokichi asked, eyeing her with concern. Himiko nodded. Kokichi sighed. "Okay." He stood up and headed to the others.

"We can ride the whales outta here," Two was saying.

"Didn't Tsukiko just get finished saying they're dolphins and not whales?!" Three exclaimed.

"Oh, well...tomato, to-mah-to," Two replied with a shrug.

"Ichiro, I need you to tell me everything you know about killer whales," Kokichi told Four.

"Uh...seriously, Kokichi?" Ten said incredulously. "This is hardly the time for a zoology lesson!"

"It's important to know everything about killer whales," Kokichi insisted, trying to create a distraction long enough for Himiko to communicate with the orcas. "That way, I'll know how to get us out of here."

"Okay! Well...killer whales are black and white!" Four began.

"Oh, really? Judging from this angle, they look like they're kinda pink and gree-...WE CAN SEE THAT THEY'RE BLACK AND WHITE!!!" Six replied sarcastically.

"Silence, Lava Breath! The expert is speaking," Four said, holding his hand up. "Anyways...invented in 1842, killer whales have been known to attack robots..." As Four spoke, Himiko leaned over the edge of the ice sheet. One of the killer whales popped his head out of the water to peek playfully at her.

"Um...hi," Himiko said in a low voice.

"Wow! I'm actually talking to a two-legger!" the killer whale exclaimed. Himiko smiled.

"Nyeh...that's right!" she replied. "Listen, my friends and I need your help with something...if that's okay."

"Sure!" the killer whale replied. "Besides, your friends seem like fun! They make a lot of noise, though."

"Well, they're a little scared," Himiko explained.

"Of what?" the killer whale asked.

"Well...of you and your friend," Himiko said. "They think you're going to eat us."

"Us eat two-leggers?" the killer whale exclaimed. "Ew! You're not part of our diet! We just wanted to know what was causing all the commotion, so we decided to check it out."

"Well...our boat sank, and now we're stranded on this sheet of ice," Himiko said. "I was wondering if you and your friend could help push us to shore?"

"Sure! No problem!" the killer whale answered enthusiastically. "It's not very often we get the chance to help out a talking two-legger!" The killer whale dove back into the water. The other killer whale rose out of the water in front of the bickering clowns, clapping its fins together.

"GO AWAY!!!" Five shrieked at it. As if responding to her, the killer whale dropped back into the water. The water was eerily calm.

"Emi! You scared him off!" Three huffed. "That was so rude of you!" Kokichi turned back to Himiko, who looked back at him with a slight nod. Kokichi nodded back.

   "Guys! Sit down!" he ordered.

"But...why?" Two asked. Ignoring Two, Kokichi sat down, pulling Himiko down next to him. The others followed suit with puzzled expressions.

"Ready?" the killer whale behind Himiko whispered. Himiko turned to see the killer whale and his friend waiting for Himiko's answer. She nodded in response. Together, both killer whales began pushing the ice sheet over to the snowy landscape.

"THEY'RE GOING TO RAM US ONTO THE SHORE!!!" Four screamed.

"I THOUGHT YOU SAID THEY WERE GENTLE CREATURES!!!" Five shouted.

"EVERYTHING I SAID ABOUT 'EM WAS ALL MADE UP!!!" Four shouted back. "I ONLY SAID ALL THAT STUFF TO MAKE MYSELF SEEM SMART!!"

"WELL, NEWS FLASH: YOU'RE AN IDIOT!!!" Six yelled, covering his eyes. As the killer whales neared the shoreline, they slowed down. They came to a slow and steady stop as they reached the shore.

"H-Hey....haha...we're alive!" Four exclaimed. They all hopped onto the dry, rocky shore. Four proudly placed his fists on his hips. "Ha! I knew it all along! They weren't gonna ram us into the-"

"Shut up, already!" Six snarled, smacking Four on the back of his head. The others giggled as they watched Four and Six start bickering again. Kokichi and Himiko turned to the killer whales.

"Thank you," Himiko whispered to them.  The killer whales nodded happily before swimming away. Kokichi and Himiko watched them until they disappeared completely from sight.
