Hiyoko's Infatuation Complication (3)

Hiyoko made it to Art class just in time. She noticed Himiko sitting towards the back. How would she get the chance to befriend her? The teacher, Ms. Koshigi, stood in front of the class to make an announcement.

"Class, we're going to do an art project about feelings and emotion," she said. "You pick an emotion and I want you to create a work of art that represents that emotion. Since there aren't enough emotions for each of you, I want you guys to pair up. So...get to it!" The students began to separate into pairs. Hiyoko saw Sonia walking towards Himiko. Hiyoko zoomed towards Himiko before Sonia could sit in the seat next to Himiko.

"Hiiiii, Himiko," Hiyoko said with a seemingly innocent grin.

   "Nyeh?!" Himiko exclaimed in confusion.

"Oh...are you going to be Himiko's partner, Hiyoko?" Sonia asked.

"Yeah, yeah! So beat it, already!" Hiyoko spat, waving her hand dismissively at Sonia.

"Um...okay," Sonia mumbled before walking away. Hiyoko turned to Himiko.

"Y-You wanna be...my partner?!" Himiko asked incredulously.

"Hee-hee...I think we should be more than partners," Hiyoko giggled cheerfully.

   "M-More than partners?!" Himiko gasped.

"I think you know what I'm getting at," Hiyoko said.

"You wanna be...my girlfriend?! " Himiko gasped in horror.

"Ugh...no, you stupi-...I mean...hee-hee...no, silly! I just meant that I wanna be your friend!" Hiyoko answered.

   "Oh...why?" Himiko asked.

"Well, cuz...why not?" Hiyoko replied with a shrug.

"Well, for one, you hate and insult me all the time," Himiko pointed out. "Nyeeeh...you even threw green paint all over me that one time!"

  "Well...sorry," Hiyoko mumbled.

"No, you're not," Himiko said. "I think I'm gonna go find someone else to work with." She stood up to leave, but Hiyoko grabbed her arm.

"Wait!" she shouted. Himiko turned to her in surprise. Hiyoko backed off a little. "The truth is...I...I..." Himiko folded her arms expectantly.

"Yes?" she asked, raising a brow.

I'm gonna hate myself for this! Hiyoko grumbled in her mind. She tried her best to give Himiko a friendly, cheerful smile. "The truth is...I've always wanted to be like you! You're so b-b...b-b...b-beau...ti...fuuuul! Yes! Beautiful! Hee-hee! And you're so good at what you do!" She felt like rubbing a bar of soap across her tongue after saying all that.

"Nyeh...that's gotta be a lie!" Himiko said. "Kokichi taught me how to spot other people's lies, and I'm pretty sure you're-"

"Oh! Speaking of which, you know about the thing in the girls' bathroom, right?" Hiyoko asked, trying to change the subject.

"Nyeh? Yeah...what about it?" Himiko asked.

"You're not worried about it at all?" Hiyoko asked.

   "Um...no...not really," Himiko mumbled.

"Well...you should be," Hiyoko said. She lowered her head, as well as her voice. "I know who did it." Himiko eyed Hiyoko with suspicion, but she was overcome with curiosity. She sat down.

   "Who did it?" she asked.

Haha...gotcha! Hiyoko thought triumphantly. "Um...I can't say. All I can say is...it's someone in this room." Himiko's eyes widened. She looked around the room. Sonia, Mikan, Hina, Tsumugi, Maki, Celeste, Kyoko, and Sayaka were the only girls there besides her and Hiyoko.

"Nyeh...I can't really see any of them doing it," Himiko whispered. "Are you sure it was one of them?"

"Um...duh! I was in the bathroom when they wrote it," Hiyoko said. "They just didn't see me."

"Well, which one was it?" Himiko pressed.

"I'll tell you after school," Hiyoko said. "We'll have more time then to talk about it, since we're working on this art project together." Himiko reluctantly sighed and nodded.

"Okay," she said. "Well, what emotion should we choose for our project?"

"We'll go with happy! How about that?" Hiyoko suggested. Himiko shrugged.

   "It's whatever," she muttered.

"Okay! I'll go tell Ms. Koshigi!" Hiyoko stood up and walked over to Ms. Koshigi's desk. "Ms. Koshigi? Himiko and I have decided to choose happy for our project!"

"Ooo...sorry, Hiyoko, but Sonia and Sayaka have already chosen happy," Ms. Koshigi replied apologetically. "But...there is one emotion that hasn't been chosen, yet!"

   "Oh, well...which one?" Hiyoko asked.

"Jealousy," Ms. Koshigi replied. Hiyoko felt a weird feeling creeping over her at that very moment. She looked back at Himiko, who was looking back at her. Hiyoko fidgeted uncomfortably before turning back to Ms. Koshigi.

"Um...sure. Might as well," she mumbled.

"Good!" Ms. Koshigi replied with a smile. Hiyoko sat back down next to Himiko.

   "Nyeh...what happened?" Himiko asked.

"There was only one emotion left, and...we're stuck with jealousy," Hiyoko answered.

"That's too bad," Himiko sighed. "Well, we might as well get started. What do you think represents jealousy?"

"Apparently mirrors and writing someone's boyfriend's name on it," Hiyoko replied with a crooked smile. She tried to turn the subject on Kokichi.

"I thought you said we weren't gonna talk about that until after school," Himiko hissed.

"Oops! You're right! I forgot!" Hiyoko said cheerfully. Himiko gave her a strange look. "Hey, speaking of which, what's it even like dating that loser?"

"Nyeh...he's not a loser!" Himiko growled.

"Okay! Okay, jeez! sorry!" Hiyoko said.

"Why do you even wanna know?" Himiko asked.

"I dunno," Hiyoko shrugged. "I just thought it was weird to see him all lovey-dovey with you this morning. I thought an alien might have replaced him, or something."

"He wasn't replaced," Himiko said, rolling her eyes. "He spoils me because I'm his Supreme Lady."

"He spoils you?" Hiyoko asked, trying to sound surprised, yet hide her intrigue and excitement at the same time. "How?"

"Well, he buys me things that I want," Himiko began. "He pampers me sometimes, he also lets me take naps in his bed while he does homework or plays video games, he's really protective of me, but best of all, he's very flirty and he kisses me a lot." Hiyoko stared at her in amazement. She began to smile as she pictured Kokichi buying her things, pampering her, holding her in his arms and giving her a ki-

"Pffft...I can't believe he does all that!" she scoffed out loud, snapping out of her daydream.

"Well, he does, so get over it," Himiko replied. "Can we talk about the project, now?"

"Yeah, yeah, fine!" Hiyoko huffed. "You go get the green paint, or paper, or whatever. I'll jot down some ideas."

"Nyeh...whatever," Himiko mumbled. She stood up and headed towards the table with the art supplies. Now that she was alone, Hiyoko smiled to herself and sighed dreamily as she finished her thought about Kokichi giving her a passionate kiss on the lips.
