Setting The Board (Chapter 53)

Welcome to Volume 4.

---------------------------------

Yang turned her head from the window as she heard a soft knock at the door, the sound was so faint, almost hesitant. With a sigh she looked back out the window, a single raven taking flight from the branch, moving away from the house and towards the expansive woods.

Yang: "Come in."

The bedroom door slowly creaked open, Ruby slowly leaning past the door to look inside the room. Looking towards her despondent sister, she stepped inside and over towards the bed fumbling with her hands as she tried to find the right words to say.

Ruby: "Hey Yang... so I just wanted to check that you still didn't want to come with us?" She rubbed the back of her head as Yang didn't respond. "It's a long journey, we would all love the company-"

Yang: "Then why don't you go find Blake?!" She whipped her head around, annoyed. "Or Weiss?! Or why not...!" She cut herself off, the anger quickly fading into more sorrow, rageful red eyes fading to dulled violet. "What's the point? What are you even trying to do?" She sighed, looking back out the window.

Ruby: "We're just trying to help..." She moved closer, reaching out a hand towards her sister.

Yang: "Then go help. I'll be here when you're done." She went quiet again, signalling the conversation was over.

Ruby: "Okay... Bye Yang... I love you..." Ruby dragged her feet as she left, hoping to hear the same words repeated back to her. But there was nought but silence, and after a moment of hanging by the door she closed it.

Yang sighed as she leaned back into her pillows, her eyes slowly drifting down to what was left of her right arm. In the end she just lay down and curled up, forcing herself to sleep.

With Yang's refusal once more, Ruby walked back outside to re-join Pyrrha, Nora, and Ren, all of whom were geared up with bags and their weapons. As the three looked towards her, Ruby managed a smile.

Ruby: "Right. Are we ready to go?" She asked, picking up her own rucksack that she had left with Pyrrha.

Pyrrha: "Yep! All packed and ready." Pyrrha smiled as she pulled on her own rucksack, stuffed to the brim with supplies.

Nora: "This is so exciting! Chasing bad guys across the world! We're like professional Huntsmen! Nono! Superheros!" Nora cheered, striking a heroic pose.

Ren: "It will be nice to revisit Mistral after all this time." He nodded with a small smile seeing Nora's antics.

Ruby: "Well Qrow's last letter said that he is going to visit the Headmaster of Haven, so we have a lot of travelling to do." Ruby sighed slightly recalling the letter.

Pyrrha: "Did you say goodbye to Mr. Xiao Long?" She asked snapping Ruby back to reality.

Ruby: "He's said you can call him Tai y'know. But yea, he wished us luck and told us to stay safe and so on." She waved her hand dismissively.

Pyrrha: "And Yang?" Pyrrha looked concerned and Ruby's smile almost faltered.

Ruby: "She said... to go help people. And that she'll be there when we're back." She walked past the others and began down the road. "Well team, let's go."

Nora: "Speaking of the team, we need to talk about the name-" Nora began, catching up to Ruby.

Ren: "RRNN is not a colour-"

Nora: "But it's better than Team PRR-" A bag hitting her cut off the last syllable as Ren shook his head disapprovingly.

Ruby: "I don't think the name matters all that much." She laughed, shrugging and looking back at Nora.

Pyrrha: "Say's the one whose Team name was their own name." Pyrrha remarked with a slight smirk.

Ruby: "To be fair, it got really confusing sometimes." She laughed slightly as if remembering some embarrassing events.

Nora: "Speaking of confusing, how are we getting to Mistral again?"

Pyrrha: "A captain at the port town of Taxidi owes me a favour, it's only a week or so to get there." The three all looked at Pyrrha, as if awaiting an explanation. "I was passing through on my way to a tournament, turned out he was a fan and wanted me to christen his new vessel." She went slightly red, embarrassed. "I couldn't really say no."

Ruby: "Well it's nice he's agreed to take us!" She beamed.

Pyrrha: "Yes, well, seeing as all the communication towers are down... I haven't asked him yet..." Pyrrha looked away while Ruby's eyes widened.

Ruby: "Pyrrha!" She said, beginning to laugh.

Pyrrha: "I'm Sorry!"

{Le Timeskip brought to you by not taking a full year to update... only a number of months? Hehe}

Ruby watched as the port they departed from shrunk into the distance, a deep feeling of melancholy weighing down on her like an anchor. She had always liked the idea of travelling as a Huntress, going to distant kingdoms to help people, but the circumstances surrounding it left much to be desired. A small sigh escaped her lips, almost automatically, as the port town completely left her view.

Pyrrha: "You doing alright?"

Ruby: "Huh wha!" Ruby turned her head to see Pyrrha leaning on the railing next to her. "Oh uh yea. Just... I guess it hasn't fully sunk in yet."

Pyrrha: "That's understandable, a lot has happened, a lot has changed..."

Ruby: "It feels like just yesterday Weiss was chiding me for sleeping in."

Pyrrha: "You do have a tendency to do that."

Ruby: "So not my point." The two laughed cheerfully.

Pyrrha: "I do wonder how she's doing."

Ruby: "She's probably enjoying wonderful tea served by her tea butler with cake from her cake butler." Ruby mocked Weiss's aristocratic accent for a second before smiling softly. "It's Blake I'm more worried for..." Ruby's shoulders slumped as she stared out across the water.

Pyrrha: "Blake's smart, I have every confidence she's fine wherever she is... I just wish she had told us where that was. And she could've said goodbye." There was bitterness in her last words, wherever intentional or not.

Ruby: "I miss her too... I miss them all." Ruby felt a hand placed atop her own, Pyrrha moving closer.

Pyrrha: "I'm here for you, if you need to talk."

Ruby: "I'll be fine... just need a bit of time."

Pyrrha: "Well just try not to freeze out here! I think Nora and Ren are settling in for the night so I'll be in our room."

Ruby: "Thanks Pyrrha, I'll be in soon."

Pyrrha smiled and pulled away from Ruby, walking back inside of the ship and towards their small cabin room. Once inside, her smile faded as she looked towards her rucksack, the sounds of waves and the engine of the ship fading into an ear ringing silence. She soon found herself kneeling in front of the rucksack and pulling out some wrapped cloth, her arms moving as if puppeted by marionette strings.

The (F/C) cloth was unwrapped in her hands to show two objects, each being held so delicately, as if they would shatter in an instant. One was a closed scroll, the combination of which was a mystery, and the other was a bladed revolver with some scorch marks. Pyrrha wasn't aware of when she started crying, but she did wipe her eyes when the teardrops began staining the metal of the revolver.

Pyrrha's senses finally came back to her as she found herself placing the clothed items back into her rucksack, just as Ruby walked in. Ruby simply grabbed her pyjamas and went into the bathroom to change, not paying Pyrrha too much mind. With a soft sigh, Pyrrha pulled her own pyjamas out of her bag and waited for her turn in the bathroom.

Across the sea, on another, much larger boat, Blake Belladonna leaned on the railing at the bow of the ship, staring out across dark waters that glittered in the moonlight. It had been the first ship to Menagerie she could get from Vale. It was a week's journey and few rarely made the voyage, less so with the rise in Grimm activity since the Fall of Beacon.

It had been several weeks since Blake had left Beacon, left her friends, left everything behind. She had run away from her problems yet again, unable to bear the guilt. Unable to look into the faces of those she cared for, unable to cope with her failure to protect them.

Blake: 'If I just hadn't been there none of them would've gotten hurt.' Her knuckles were beginning to strain as she held the railing. 'It was my fault.'

Blake's thoughts were interrupted as she heard movement from behind, her now exposed Faunus ears twitching as they picked up footsteps. Spinning around, with her hand reaching for her weapon, she saw the Captain of the vessel who held up his hands with a chuckle.

Captain: "Jumpy thing aren't ya?"

Blake: "Ah, I'm sorry."

Captain Morgan: "Don't worry about it, I've been shot at plenty in my time." The man let out a hearty laugh. "I'm Captain Morgan, and you are?"

Blake: "Blake."

Cpt Morgan: "Well, Blake, what brings you out to the sea all alone?"

Blake: "Why is that relevant?"

Cpt Morgan: "Well, I tend to find that those who travel alone have the most interesting stories." He leaned against the railing, staring out across the sea. "It can be a lonely voyage out on the sea."

Blake : "Maybe it's just better for some people to be alone." Just after she said this, she darted her head to look towards a noise coming from the main cabin entrance, but saw nothing there.

Cpt Morgan: "With your paranoia, unlikely." Blake narrowed her eyes in a hard glare. "Apologies. Just, a few friendly faces might do you some good."

Blake: "Are you a Captain or a Life Coach?" She questioned, looking back out to the sea.

Cpt Morgan: "You got me there!" He laughed again. "But a fair warning, these trips can be pretty boring."

Blake: "I think I've had enough excitement for the last month." Her head drooped slightly, as did her ears, as if recalling several bad memories.

Cpt Morgan: "Oh is that so? Do tell..." Blake fixed him with another glare, to which he just chuckled. "Well, I can see when I'm doing more harm than good, I'll leave you be. But if you ever wanna spill yer guts, I'll be around!"

Blake watched the Captain walk away, he appeared to be more amused than anything else. That was when she saw something move in the cabin doorway again, seeing a figure obscured by shadow walking away. With narrow eyes she followed the figure, only to lose them below deck rather quickly. With a defeated sigh she ended up retreating to her room, barring the door with a chair that she unceremoniously slumped down onto.

Pulling out her scroll Blake began to scroll through her photos, looking at them as if they happened a lifetime ago. There were several of herself with her Team, photos of the Vytal fights they had fought, the occasional whiteboard full of notes. She then came to a stop on a photo of herself, Yang, & (Y/N) out on a date, the two either side of her face, each kissing a cheek. Yang had stopped a passer-by to get the photo, (Y/N) had taken her scroll to get the photo, Blake had died of embarrassment

Blake: "I miss you... I miss you all..." Hugging her knees Blake let the scroll autoplay, shifting photo to photo, as she drifted into unconsciousness, weapon all the while at the ready.

Morning had come too soon for the Faunus, a large klaxon's blare having been her wake up call, her ears flattening atop her head failing to block the sound. So now she found herself wandering atop the deck, bored out of her mind.

Blake: "The Captain was right, this is boring." She complained to herself with a sigh, there was only so many times one could do a lap of the main deck. "I should've bought a book."

Blake's musing stopped when she noticed something out of the corner of her eye, the same figure that had been watching her the previous night. They were wearing a cloak and on the higher deck, but were definitely facing her direction, the face just shadowed.

Using her semblance, Blake quickly made a shadow copy of herself, managing to dart into the stairwell leading up without being seen. Drawing her weapon, she held the gun in almost trembling hands, slowly stalking towards the unsuspecting figure. Taking a deep breath she straightened up and aimed her weapon towards them and spoke.

Blake: "Why have you been watching me?!"

The figure snapped their attention to Blake, putting their hands up in surrender quickly thus revealing a set of... abs. They then drew their hood back to reveal the awkwardly smiling face of Sun Wukong.

Sun: "I was, uh, just monkeying around?" He laughed sheepishly, while Blake stared in disbelief.

Blake: "Sun?!"

Sun: "Digging the new outfit by the way! Was glad to see you ditch the bow."

Blake: "Have you been following me this whole time?!"

Sun: "Well, hey, not the whole time! Just since you left the evacuation camp!... Which, yea, is the whole time..." He rubbed the back of his head.

Blake: "You're unbelievable!"

Sun: "Me? You're the one who up and left in the middle of the night. I was lucky I managed to get on your trail as fast as I did."

Blake: "You wouldn't understand. I had to."

Sun: "No, I get it! I figured out exactly what you were doing. You're going on a one woman rampage against the White Fang!"

Blake: "What?"

Sun: "You've always felt that the Fang was your fight. Then they show up, trash your school, hurt your friends? It makes perfect sense!" Blake facepalmed. "But there is no way I'm letting you take em on alone! It's an honourable approach, but you need someone watching your back! And that's where I come in!" He grinned, pulling Blake in for a side hug while gesturing to the distance. "I had planned this whole 'reveal myself at the moment you needed help thing', but this works as well!"

Blake: "You're wrong Sun, you're so so wrong..." She said, pushing the blonde away as she began to walk.

Sun: "What are you-"

Blake: "I'm not going anywhere near the White Fang, I'm going home."

Sun: "Seriously?"

Blake: "The White Fang won't attack Menagerie, best place to hide."

Sun: "So what, you're giving up?"

Blake: "I'm running away. It's what I'm best at."

Sun: "What about your team, your friends?"

Blake: "You're one to talk! I don't imagine Neptune, Sage, and Scarlet are hiding below deck?"

Sun: "You really think I could get Neptune on the ocean?" He laughed. "They flew back to Mistral, I told them I'd catch up. Ain't even the first time I've left them to take a boat."

Blake: "Well I hope you got a return ticket." She said coldly, beginning to make her way inside and through the halls, Sun quickly giving chase.

Sun: "Hey woah, where are you going?"

Blake: "What part of leaving in the middle of the night made you think I wanted to be around anyone? Just leave me alone!"

Sun: "Come on now, you can't really mean that!" Sun ran past Blake, giving a half-attempt to block her path and keep the conversation going. "Listen, I know what happened at Beacon was terrible, but it wasn't your fault!"

Blake: "Wasn't it? Yang lost her arm trying to protect me from Adam!" She pushed past him, tears threatening to spill at this point.

Sun: "But it would've been her life if you hadn't saved her, that's gotta mean something!" The two arrived at her cabin door, Blake's back to him.

Blake: "It means that had I not been there, neither would she." Blake turned back to face Sun, having now stepped inside her room.

Sun: "Or that she would've died too!" Blake glared as Sun bit his tongue, regretting his words almost instantly. "No one wants to see you wallow in grief alone, you can't shut us out." He pleaded as Blake stared back at him.

Blake: "On the contrary."

Sun watched as Blake slammed the door in his face, a curt click of a lock flicking for good measure. The two Faunus stared at either side of the heavyset wooden door, which completely cut them off from one another, as the two let out sighs of frustration.

Weiss Schnee had never realised how large her bedroom was until she had returned from Beacon. It was probably three to four times the size of her Beacon dorm room, of which she had shared with the rest of her team. The room at Beacon was cramped, you could barely take three steps without bumping into something or someone, but she would be hard pressed to call it terrible. So why was it now that she found her much larger, much more grandiose, bedroom so suffocating?

The answer was obvious, she didn't want to be there.

What should be one's private escape, a place to retreat and recuperate, had been twisted into a form of prison.

Weiss had returned to Atlas with her Father a mere week after the Fall of Beacon, just before restrictions had been put in place for all Atlas air traffic. This uprooting had prevented Weiss from being there for Ruby, who at the time had still not awoken. Or from looking for Blake who had just disappeared in the middle of the night. Yang had barely spoken to Weiss despite the latters attempts to console and assist her.

She did lend a hand along with Pyrrha, Ren, and Nora, as they all tried to help as best they could with the evacuation. But at that point there was little more to do than count the dead and grieve.

(Y/N) & Jaune.

Pyrrha had been the one to deliver the news to them all, and no one wanted to believe her. Everyone had wished to see both friends stroll into camp as if nothing had happened and laugh off everyone's concerns. But then Blake and Sun left, and days had passed, and those fantasies dissipated.

Weiss: "Well now I'm just being dramatic..." Weiss muttered to herself, looking down at the last few paragraphs she had written into her new diary.

Her original diary was still at Beacon Academy, underneath her pillow with a sticky note that said "Stop Stealing This Dolt". Well, she presumed it was, unless the building had just so happened to collapse directly on her bed.

Closing the new leather bound book, having decided she had enough melodrama for the time being, Weiss rose from her desk and looked towards her weapon case. Her rapier had sat there for a few weeks without use, despite being cleaned and repaired by Klein. She had no real reason to practise the weapon here, but she still couldn't shake the feeling of her skills dulling and diminishing with each passing day. She was slightly ashamed, having spent so long drilling in the idea of practice makes perfect into Ruby here she was now ignoring her own training.

Just as Weiss went to open the casing she was interrupted by a curt knock at the door. It wasn't Klein, each of his personalities had a distinct knock and this matched none of them, and it wasn't any of the rest of the staff either. Curious, Weiss wandered towards the door and opened it wide, only to slouch slightly upon seeing her brother Whitley.

Whitley: "Good afternoon sister" Her younger brother said in a too good mood, at least for him.

Weiss: "Hello Whitley, you seem awful chipper today." She said, with a reasonable amount of suspicion in her voice.

Whitley: "Klein made crepes for breakfast." He continued, unperturbed by her tone.

Weiss: "I wasn't aware you had a sweet tooth?" Weiss asked, raising an eyebrow at the revelation.

Whitley: "I always have, but how could you have known?" He shrugged casually.

Weiss: "What do you want?" She asked finally, deciding to cut to the point.

Whitley: "Father asked to speak with you, in his office." Weiss grimaced slightly while Whitley looked away. "I heard him shouting at someone earlier."

Weiss: "Mother?"

Whitley: "No, she is already drinking in the garden. I believe it was a man." Whitley looked back at Weiss. "But I'm sure you'll be fine. You're strong, like Winter."

Weiss: "You never liked Winter."

Whitley: "...But her resolve is undeniable." Whitley hesitated for a moment.

Weiss: "You seem... different." His smile finally dropped, returning to a more neutral look.

Whitley: "Well, one doesn't stop growing, you just weren't around to see it." He turned and began to walk away. "Best of luck with Father!"

Weiss: "Thank you..."

Just a few minutes later Weiss found herself standing outside of her Fathers office, the sound of yelling evident from inside.

Jacques: "I'm not talking about the good of my company; I'm talking about the good of Atlas, our entire Kingdom!"

Ironwood: "That is a load of rubbish and you know it."

Weiss gently opened the door and peered inside, she saw General Ironwood and her Father sitting at the small table in front of the large bookcase. He was treating whatever was going on as a discussion rather than a proper meeting then.

Jacques: "I beg your pardon?!"

Ironwood: "Jacques, will you please, just hear me out?"

Jacques: "You are a trusted friend and ally to this family, James, but what you're suggesting is absurd!"

Ironwood: "You are blowing it out of proportion."

Jacques: "The council will never agree to it!"

Ironwood: "You forget, I hold two seats on the council."

Jacques: "I can promise you, I have not forgotten! Your Dust embargo has already cost me millions!"

Ironwood: "So this is about you."

Weiss walked into the room fully, watching the exchange awkwardly until the door suddenly closed with a large clang. Weiss jumped slightly as the two men turned to look at her with surprise.

Ironwood: "Miss Schnee! It's been some time, have you been recovering well?"

Weiss: "I have, although I wasn't gravely injured at the attack."

Ironwood: "That's good. I'm painfully aware of the devastation of that battle." He said, and Weiss noticed him clenching and unclenching what appeared to be a further upgraded artificial arm. "My apologies, but I should've been gone by now." He turned to look at Jacques. "We'll continue this at another time."

Jacques: "Indeed. Klein can show you out."

Ironwood: "Don't worry, I know the way."

Weiss steps aside so that Ironwood can reach the door. He turns and looks at her father.

Ironwood: "Until next time, Jacques."

Jacques solemnly nods back at Ironwood, who turns to Weiss.

Ironwood: "Please know, you'll always have a home at Atlas Academy, Miss Schnee. We'll be back in session before you know it. And if you ever need anything from me, please just ask."

Weiss: "Thank you." She smiled until he left, at which point it faded as Jacques cleared his throat.

Jacques: "Did you forget your manners while you were away?"

Weiss turned to see her Father already sat back at his desk, to his right was a clean holographic computer, but to his left in stark contrast was a large collection of folders and papers. They seemed older and had the markings of classified documents.

Weiss: "No, Father. I'm sorry."

Jacques: "Can you believe there are still people in the world that blame Atlas for what happened to Beacon? To Vale?"

Weiss: "Well, they weren't there." Weiss approached and stood before the desk, looking at her Father who instead looked off into space, pondering.

Jacques: "It's a wonder Ironwood wasn't stripped of his rank. I suppose the council trusts him, for better or worse."

Weiss: "I trust him." Jacques sighed and fixed her with an unamused stare.

Jacques: "Thanks to him, Atlas is forbidden from exporting Dust to other Kingdoms. 'A precautionary measure', as he puts it, 'until we're certain no one is going to declare war'. How anyone could possibly find that to be sound logic is beyond me."

Weiss: "Well, the attack was a confusing affair. Both Dust and Atlas weapons were used to harm instead of protect. Maybe he's just worried about public image?"

Jacques smiled at Weiss's words and a shiver ran down her spine, she had just voiced his sentiments exactly.

Jacques: "Which is why the Schnee Dust Company will be holding a charity concert in the coming weeks." Weiss's eyes widened with shock, much to her fathers bemusement. "We need to show the people of Remnant that we are on their side. That we are all victims of the fall of Beacon."

Weiss: "That's... wonderful news."

Jacques: "I know. And I think it would make a lot of people happy if you performed at the event."

Weiss: "Excuse me?"

Jacques: "Many forget that you were there. My own daughter, a Schnee, on the grounds, defending another Kingdom! We need to remind them! And we need to show them that the Schnee family is just as strong as ever!"

Weiss: "Are you asking me if I'd like to sing, or telling me?" She asked, slightly annoyed.

Jacques: "I think it would make a lot of people happy." He said softly, leaning forwards while maintaining eye contact.

Weiss: "I'll start practising." Weiss sighed as she looked away, while Jacques sat back up.

Jacques: "That's my girl. I've arranged for your former teacher to come to the manor later today. She will be waiting for you."

Weiss: "Understood..." Weiss' eyes trailed off to the folder atop the desk. The bright bold acronym 'A.I.P' standing out like it wanted to be seen. She stared at it, as if trying to recall a memory. "What's that?"

Jacques: "These? Just some old failed projects." Weiss watched him stand while grabbing the folder, before placing them seamlessly into his bookshelf. "I was just revisiting an old concept. But I believe you should begin practising." He gestured towards the door.

Weiss nodded and left without a further word, her mind still trying to recall the acronym. But she was once again distracted as she came face to face with Klein.

Klein: "Hot coffee, Miss Schnee? I always find he keeps his study dreadfully cold." Klein held up a tray that balanced a single teacup, the slight haze of heat rising from it.

Weiss: "Thank you, Klein." She said with a smile, pulling the cup to her lips and indulging in Klein's perfect blend.

Klein: "You know what I think?" Klein lifted the tray to cover his face before dropping it dramatically, leaning forward towards Weiss while making a less-than-formal face, his brown eyes now red. "I think it's to balance out all his hot air."

Weiss' eyes widen in delight and she turns and looks over her shoulder at the closed office door. She turns back to Klein with a giggle.

Weiss: "Klein!" Weiss' eyes widened and she turned to look at the closed office door. She then turned back to Klein with a giggle. "I think you're right..."

The two laughed a little together before he faked a sneeze, his eyes turning blue.

Klein: "Uh, apologies, madam." Klein pretended to sneeze again before wiggling his moustache and looking up, his eyes turning yellow. "Ah, there's my happy little snowflake."

Weiss: "Thank you, Klein." Weiss took another sip of her coffee, enjoying the warmth. "Oh, do you know when Evelyn will be arriving?"

Klein: "She already has." Klein said with a smile. "She was very pleased to hear her favourite student wanted her training again." His smile dropped a little as he saw Weiss's shoulders shrug slightly

Weiss: "Well... I wouldn't have wanted any other teacher." She said after a moment, trying to brush away her own hesitation.

Klein: "I'll take that from you..." He said, taking the now empty cup from Weiss. "And if you need anything, please let me know."

Weiss: "Thank you again Klein, I will speak to you later on." The two nodded to one another and Weiss made her way to the mansion music room.

As Weiss walked, her mind drifted back to her time with Evelyn in the past. While she had only ever seen her for concert practice, she recalled never feeling the immense pressure those concerts would put on her when her teacher was around. Evelyn just seemed to radiate warmth and comfort unlike anyone she had known at the time.

So as she walked into the room, she was slightly fearful that something may have changed. Perhaps something terrible had happened to her and she was now bitter and cold. Maybe her previous personality was a front just to please the little girl she had been back then. Weiss gulped down her apprehension and knocked on the wall, pulling the woman's attention away from some sheet music that was laid on the piano.

Evelyn: "Ohhh my dear Weiss how are you?!" Weiss found herself enveloped in a hug by the older woman and was happy to find she was just as warm and friendly as before. "I was so pleased when I heard you were doing another concert!"

Weiss: "Hello Evelyn!" She said with a little laugh. "I've been well! How have you been?"

Evelyn: "Oh same old same old, trying to inspire the musicians of the future!" She said with a triumphant cheer. "But now's not the time for reminiscing! Now's the time for rehearsing!" In a flash Evelyn had closed the door and moved to sit at the piano, ready to play. "Now, I hope you recall your vocal warm ups?"

Weiss: "Of course I do! But Ms. Evelyn, if I may make a request-"

Evelyn: "No need to be so formal my child, what is it?"

Weiss: "If possible, I would like to do some practice with a particular song... 'Anything You Can Do'?"

Evelyn: "Well of course we can, if that's what you would like. But may I ask why that one?" Evelyn raised an eyebrow and leaned forward curious.

Weiss: "It's just... it reminds me of someone." Weiss said, looking as if she was recalling a memory with a smile.

Evelyn: "Well of course we can, dear." She said with a knowing smile, before she gestured for Weiss to begin her warm ups.
