Your POV

You were all back in class as Oobleck ran about the place pumped up on coffee.

Oobleck: "Yes! Yes, prior to the Faunus Rights Revolution, more popularly know as the Faunus war, humankind was quite, quite adamant about centralising the Faunus population in Menagerie." He paused to drink. "Now! I know this might seem like ancient history to many of you, it is imperative to remember that these are relatively recent events! Why the repercussions of the uprising can still be seen to this day!" He paused again to drink what must be liquid cocaine. "Now! Have any among you been subjugated or discriminated because of your Faunus heritage?" Looking around you saw a couple people raise there hands but you noticed Velvet raise hers weakly. "Dreadful, simply dreadful! Remember, students, it is precisely this kind of ignorance that breeds violence!" He again drank from his seemingly endless cup of coffee which reminded you of Qrows equally endless flask of alcohol. "I mean, I mean, I mean just look at what happened to the White Fang! Now which one of you can tell me what theorists believe to be the turning point in the war? Yes?"

Weiss: "The battle at Fort Castle."

[Archer: May I stop right here? That is such a stupid name. Alright continue.]

Oobleck: "Precisely! And who can tell me the advantage the Faunus had over the general and his forces?" Jaune made some sort of startled sound. "Ah Mr Arc finally contributing in class this excellent! What is the answer?"

After a poor game of charades with Pyrrha, who as try as she might couldn't help him, Jaune answered binoculars which got a stir out of most of the class but no more than Cardin.

Oobleck: "Very funny Mr Arc. Mr Winchester perhaps you would like to share your thoughts on the subject."

Cardin: "Well I know it's a lot easier to train an animal than a solider."

Pyrrha was about to say something when you slammed your boot on the table catching everyone's attention.

(Y/N): "How's my boot look Cardin? Since you're going to be crushed underneath it soon enough I want you to at least admire the view." This got laughter as well as a few Ooos. You brought your boot back off the table.

Oobleck: "Well Mr (L/N) since your so eager to talk what is the answer?"

(Y/N): "It's night vision. I know enough about Faunus biology to know that." 'Qrow certainly made sure of that.' A smirk graced your face at your hidden add on.

Blake: "The general was inexperienced and attacked the Faunus at night. The Faunus were alerted and his massive army was outmatched. Maybe if he had paid attention in class he wouldn't have gone down in history as a failure." This got a few more laughs as Cardin growled and stood fists ready.

Oobleck: "Mr Winchester please take your seat." Jaune started sniggering which caught the attention of Oobleck. "You and Mr Arc can both stay behind after class for additional readings. Now moving on."

{Timeskip brought to you by Yangs huge, amazing, stunning, personality.}

You wondered down the halls trying to find a place to access the roof. Pyrrha has asked you to come quickly after class but had failed to tell you how to get up there. After a few more minutes of wondering you found a stairwell that led to the roof. Getting to the top you were met by an impressive view of Beacon academy. You realised you were alone at that moment as Pyrrha was not there, but you trusted her and so decided to wait and wait until finally the door reopened and outcome Pyrrha accompanied by Jaune.

Pyrrha: "I hope we didn't keep you waiting."

(Y/N): "Well you did but there's nothing we can do about that now."

Jaune: "Uhhh listen Pyrrha I know I'm going through a tough time but I'm not that depressed." You both turned to Jaune who was looking over the edge, Pyrrha very quickly pulled Jaune back.

Pyrrha: "No that's not why I brought you both up here. Jaune, I know you're having a difficult time in class and that you're not the strongest of fighters so I want to help you."

Jaune: "What?" You looked at Jaune he seemed nervous and afraid like a deer caught in headlights.

Pyrrha: "We can train up here where no one could bother us and (Y/N) could help as well." She turned to you. "If that's alright of course." You simply nodded still focused on Jaune and his demeanour change.

Jaune: "You think I need help?"

(Y/N): "Everyone does time to time but I don't think she means it in the way you think."

Jaune: "But she just said it."

Pyrrha: "No (Y/N) is right, I think you just need a push in the right direction, I mean you already got into Beacon and that speaks volumes about what you're capable of!"

There was a twinge in Jaune a shift so minuscule it was almost unnoticeable and it was that moment you took a proper look at Jaune. His mood had changed, slouched, frown on his face, his eyes danced with a thousand different moods all pooling into a pit of shame. It clicked. Jaune wasn't good in a fight and he wasn't in this school for
academical achievements, he didn't fit in he stood out and you think you have the reason.

(Y/N): "Do you remember what your transcripts said then? Or didn't you look." Jaune turned to you an anger rising within him. Yet you pushed. "Maybe it was easier that way, not knowing what it said. Not having the guilt of knowing your achievements forced someone else out of the school. Or maybe you did and you were impressed with the victory's you had so rightfully clai-" Jaune punched you across the face but it reeked of inexperience as it merely left a stinging.

Pyrrha: "Jaune!... What's he talking about?"

Jaune: "I didn't earn my spot at this academy. I got my hand on some fake transcripts and I lied."

Pyrrha: "What why?"

Jaune: "Because this was my dream! To be the hero! A slayer of monsters! Like my family before me! I was just never good enough."

Pyrrha: "Then let us help you."

Jaune: "I don't want your help, either of you! I'm sick of being the lovable idiot in the tree while his friends fight for their lives! Don't you understand if I can't do this alone... then what good am I?"

(Y/N): "You'd be a good friend and that is something you are straying away from. So I'd think carefully about what you do next as lone wolfing is not as fun as it seems." With that you left the two and headed back to your dorm where you quickly went to sleep.
