Ruby, for once in her life, struggled to keep up with someone as Weiss raced ahead of her, barging through people, much to their annoyance, to try and reach the courtyard as fast as possible.

Ruby: "Weiiiss! Slow down!" To her surprise that worked and Weiss stopped, allowing for Ruby to catch her breath next to her. "What is the big deal?! Who is she?!"

Weiss looked at Ruby with a giddy smile, something that looked somewhat out of place on her, before she pointed at the opening airship that had landed. Once the ramp touched the ground, several figures departed from it, four Atlas soldiers, two Atlesian Knights, and one white haired woman leading from the front who struck a remarkable resemblance to-

Weiss: "Winter!" She shouted, rushing forward causing Ruby's eyes to widen.

Ruby: "Wait! Your Sister?!" She asked, following after her partner.

Winter looked towards the noise and almost smiled at seeing her sister, it, however, caused her to have a look of indifference at the reunion. She held her arm up, signalling her escorts to stop from advancing further as she waited for her sister.

Weiss: "Winter! I'm so happy to see you! Oh..." She stopped and curtsied with Ruby raising an eyebrow. "Your presence honours us."

Winter: "Beacon... It's been a long time. The air feels... different." She said looking around, now stood next to the two partners.

Ruby: "I mean it is fall, so it's probably colder?" She nodded, almost thoughtfully, while Weiss was mortified and Winter peaked an eyebrow.

Winter: "You must be Ruby Rose, how appropriate..." She said, looking to Weiss who was biting her lip at the comment.

Ruby: "Umm, thank you? I think?"

Weiss: "So... what are you doing here?" Weiss failed to stop a smile creeping onto her face, while Winter just frowned.

Winter: "Classified."

Weiss: "Oh, right. Well, how long will you be staying?"

Winter: "Also classified." She narrowed her eyes at her sister.

Weiss: "Of course." She smiled and nodded while Ruby looked at the sisters in confusion.

Ruby: "This is nice... I think?"

It was silent for a few moments, Weiss clearly enamoured with her sister's presence while the elder, successfully, hid her amusement at Weiss's actions. Ruby kicked her partner's foot and, with a slight jump, Weiss rebooted.

Weiss: "You're going to love it here! I know you travel a lot, but so much of Beacon is different from Atlas!" She then dropped to a whisper. "Vale, too." She spoke almost as if it was a secret from the general population. "The government and school are completely separate! Can you believe it?! I-"

Winter: "I'm more than familiar with how this kingdom handles its... bureaucracy. That is not why I came." Her tone was disdainful and dismissive, almost like telling off a kid.

Weiss: "Right! I'm sorry!"

Winter: "Nor did I come here to watch my own blood fail so miserably in battle. But it appears that I have no choice in the matter." Both Ruby and Weiss were taken aback at this comment, having thought the fight went well.

Weiss: "But, we won?!"

Winter: "Only a novice would refer to that as a victory. I counted at least three strikes missed." She turned to her guards and gestured to the soldiers. "Leave us." The soldiers saluted and went back to the airship while the robots took 2 steps backwards. She then looked back towards her sister with a softer look. "How have you been?"

Weiss: "Oh, splendid! Thank you for asking. I'm actually in the very top ranking of our sparring class! And the rest of my studies are going wonderfully, too! I'm-"

Winter: "Silence, you dolt! I don't recall asking about your ranking, I'm asking how you've been. Are you eating properly? Have you taken up any hobbies? Are you making new friends?" She said with a side glance at Ruby. "Any other friends?"

Ruby: "Heh, you're definitely sisters..." She laughed much to the two's personal confusion.

Weiss: "Well, there's Yang Xiao Long and Blake Belladonna, my other teammates." She said thinking of who she should mention that would impress her sister. "There is also Pyrrha Nikos!" At the names, Winter nodded almost impressed before a thought occurred to her.

Winter: "Hold on, Belladonna... Any relation to Ghira Belladonna, the ex-White Fang leader?" Ruby and Weiss shared a look of astonishment.

Weiss: "How did-"

Winter: "Ah, you were probably too young to remember. Nevermind." She dismissed the topic. "I have business with the General and your Headmaster, but seeing as I'm early, why don't you take me to your quarters?"

Weiss: "Really?"

Ruby shook her head at Weiss as a warning, knowing how much of a state the room was currently in. This went unnoticed however as Ruby's warning went unheeded.

Winter: "Yes. I wish to inspect them and make sure that they are up to my personal standards." The two began towards the main building, the two Atlesian Knights following.

Weiss: "Of course! Just so you're aware, the bunk beds only look unstable." She said trying to pre-empt any comments.

Winter: "Bunk beds?" At this, Ruby decided it might be best not to be in the room when she sees them.

Ruby: "I'll catch up- Actually... I mean, I will reconvene with you both.... At a later... juncture!" Ruby exclaimed while Weiss looked back and waved with an awkward smile. "At a juncture, yeah, nailed it." She walked off, beginning back towards the fair with a smile.

As the two sisters were walking ahead of the two knights, a drunken man stumbled after them. With a dizzy lurch forward, he grabbed a hold of both robots and, with a speed that seemed impossible for someone in his state, he broke them both and kicked one of the heads towards the Schnee's. At the commotion both sister's turned around to face the man, Winter glaring harshly while Weiss was astonished at the idiocy and insult. The man smirked and pulled himself up straight, almost as if he was getting a round of applause for just his appearance.

Qrow: "Hey!, Yeah, I'm talking to you, Ice Queen!" He said, throwing down the two robots to either side, broken.

With a look towards Winter, who was standing just glaring at Qrow, Weiss decided to speak up and stomped angrily towards the man. He, however, did not give a shit and just grabbed her face and pushed her to the side, making her stumble.

Qrow: "Shhhhh, not you... " He pointed at Winter. "You." He smirked and stalked forward slightly. "Saw that gaudy ship of yours in town. I guessed you were here too."

Winter: "I'm standing right before you, aren't I?" She said gesturing to herself slightly.

Qrow: With a squint, he laughed. "So it would seem."

Winter: "You realise you just destroyed Atlas Military property." She gestured to the two mutilated robots.

Qrow jumped as if he had just reconsidered his life, he looked back to the robots concerned before looking at Winter with a smirk.

Qrow: "Oh, oh, I'm sorry. See, I mistook this for some sort of... sentient garbage." He said with a charming flair he did not deserve.

Winter: "I don't have time for your immature games, Qrow." She said while stalking forward which caused Qrow to take a few steps back.

Weiss: "Wait, you two know each other?" She asked, looking between the two.

Qrow: "Jeez, you Atlas Specialists think you're so special, don't you?"

Winter: "It's in the title." She said confidently, Qrow was getting to her.

Qrow: "Well, you know what you really are? A bunch of sellouts. Just like your boss." A harsh glare was his response, harsher than when he had just shown up.

Winter: "I'm not sure what you think you're implying, but I've heard enough."

Qrow: "Oh I heard, too. I heard ol' Ironwood finally turned his back on Ozpin."

Weiss: "Ozpin?" Weiss asked confused and Winter snapped out of her anger.

Winter: "Weiss, it's time for you to go." She said gesturing for her to leave, not wanting her wrapped up in this any further.

Weiss: "What-"

Qrow: "Listen to big sister, Weiss. She'll protect you. Just like Atlas is going to protect all of us, huh?" Qrow interrupted, preaching to the small crowd that was gathering. Weiss had seen this type of bolstering before, but couldn't place where.

Winter: "If you won't hold your tongue, then I will gladly remove it for you!" Winter declared, entrapped in her rage again while drawing her sword.

Qrow: "Alright then..." He smirked, slicking his hair back, now he had what he wanted. "Come take it."

Meanwhile, you were in your dorm room waiting for JNPR to show up after their battle. You wanted to celebrate with them and also find out what their plan was for the next rounds, Ozpin said you couldn't take part in the competition, not that you couldn't assist another team with planning. That's when you heard your scroll ping on Pyrrha's bed, and with a swift jump onto her bed you opened the message to see it was from said girl.

Pyrrha: "We're gonna be another 20 minutes, need to shower and get changed. The fighting was a lot more intense than we thought!"

(Y/N): "Ah ok" You smirked. "Course you coulda just changed here..."

Pyrrha: "(Y/N)! Nora is right there!" It was quite funny how quickly worked up she could get.

(Y/N): "Hey I'm not asking for nothin! See you later ;)"

Believing that would keep her thoughts for a while, you sat up only to duck instinctively when you heard an explosion. When you realised you had in fact not been blown up again, you jumped from the bed and looked out the window, seeing two figures fighting in the courtyard. Recognising one of the fighters you grinned and grabbed your weapon rushing out the door and pulling up your music player, completely missing the message Pyrrha had sent back.

Back with Qrow he had just landed on the path and was now being barraged by a series of flying glowing birds. With a grunt of annoyance he slashed his weapon, a chambered dust crystal activating, sending a tangible wave of air at Winter, which hit her and broke her concentration.

With a glare, Winter stood up, a large glyph appearing behind her as she powered up. It spun in an almost hypnotic pattern as dust and dirt began to rise, the power growing in intensity. Qrow in turn began his weapons transformation, the blade separating and beginning to curve in a whir of pistons and gears. That was until he smirked and suddenly reverted the change, allowing it to return it to its normal state, only pissing Winter off further.

With a blast of air, Winter rushed towards the drunk, the air splitting and chasing up after her as her pointed sword aimed for his throat. Once the gap between the fighters was too close another figure burst from the crowd and blocked Winter's attack by redirecting it upwards, the resulting clang of metal disrupting the focus of everyone for a second. The wind then caught up, blasting past her, Qrow, and the newcomer, all their coats or capes flapping wildly.

Qrow: "Took you long enough." Qrow said, looking at you while putting his weapon away.

(Y/N): "Says you, would it kill you to hit the send button?" You asked, eliciting a laugh from both of you.

Winter: "Excuse me! We were in the middle of a fight!" Winter yelled, having retreated slightly, however she was shocked when she got a proper look at you. "(Y/N) (L/N)..."

(Y/N): "You know me?" You asked, confused as hell.

Qrow: "You know him?" He didn't know either it seemed.

Weiss: "How do you know him too?!" She yelled, making you realise Ruby and Weiss were watching

Winter: "He's in the criminal database, and is to be taken into custody." She stated, getting into a combat stance, throwing Ruby and Weiss for a loop.

Looking between Winter, Qrow, and a quick glance at Weiss, gave you all the context you needed. You raised your weapon to defend yourself, while letting off a slight laugh.

(Y/N): "This is Winter? From the Atlas Military?" You asked, looking at Qrow with a grin who merely nodded with a confident smirk. Winter however did not seem happy, furious more accurately.

Winter: "What did you tell him?"

(Y/N): "He didn't need to tell me anything, I could hear..." Winter's eyes widened as her grip on her weapons tightened. You pressed play on your scroll and tucked it away. "All. Night. Long."

The music started up but Winter didn't pay much attention, instead rushing in, only for you to parry her blow with a simple movement. She then started a series of strikes that slowly synced in time with the music, only for you to parry them for the clanging metal to ring out.

Weiss: "Winter, don't hurt him he-!"

Winter: "I am well aware of his abilities!" She yelled back, only for you to take advantage and kick her backwards, Winter letting out a grunt as a response.

You ran at Winter to take advantage of your kick, jumping over her, you sliced at her from above, which she blocked while spinning around. Landing on the other side you blocked a strike at your back, sword held behind you, before thrusting her weapon away to the left and landing a blow into Winter's right side, all in the swift movement of a spin.

You then stepped back as her blade carved through the air where your head was seconds ago, only to step forwards again to strike. This caused Winter to go on the defensive while back stepping, as you commanded a flurry of steel towards her, a mix of thrusts and swipes.

Winter found her footing and threw one of your strikes wide, before following it up with a thrust, forcing you to roll to the side. She began stabbing at the ground, clangs of stone and steel ringing as you moved from where you were, she repeated this only for you to roll again and again out of the way.

Transforming your weapon to it's revolver form you charged a fire bullet and shot at Winter, who noticed just in time to throw up a glyph, the resulting explosion sending you both a distance back, relatively unharmed. You climbed to your feet as she brandished both her blades at you, already running closer.

After deflecting her long-sword, you stepped closer on her secondary strike with the short-sword, your cheek cutting in the process as the blade ripped past it, she had expected you to step to the left instead of forward.

Seizing the moment, you continued forward, breaking her rhythm and knocking her off balance, allowing you to get on even footing. You were both now making your own strikes, while jumping away from others, rushing around the duelling circle that had been made.

Winter parried you backwards with both blades and stuck them into the ground, after which you suddenly became aware you couldn't move, a black glyph at your feet. Before you could even wonder why she had done this you got your answer in the form of two white glowing Beowolves arising and immediately running at you.

That's when behind Winter you saw a familiar asshole trundling up the courtyard, alongside Penny. With a smirk you shot down one of the Beowolves and got ready for the other.

The Beowolf clawed at you, only for you to grapple at its paw and force it to spin around, letting go as it did which launched you towards Winter. Seeing you hurtling towards her, sword at the ready, she dismissed her semblance and stood to meet where you would land, ready to decapitate you. The air got tenser as you got closer.

You landed just before her, bringing your blade down towards her neck like an executioner, while she brought her own sword up towards your neck, just as fast.

Ironwood: "SCHNEE!" Yelled the General, freezing you both, blades at your throats.

Winter and you shared a stare, yours a smug victory, while Winter's held a bitter hatred, the world seeming to freeze as you both expressed the emotions vividly. Then, with all the will she could muster, sheathed her blades and stood to attention, saluting as she did.

Winter: "General Ironwood, Sir!"

Ironwood: "What do you think you're doing?" He asked, stepping closer while looking at the onlookers.

Winter: "He started the altercation Sir." She gestured to you, having just put away your revolver, you gave a 'really bitch' look.

Qrow: "That's actually not true, she attacked first, both times." He said smugly, while Winter mentally cited every curse under the sun, she had fallen for the same trick, twice.

Ironwood: "Of course it's you two, it always is." He gave a disdainful look towards yourself and Qrow.

Before things could escalate further, Ozpin and Glynda intervened, drawing everyone's attention.

Ozpin: "Now, now everyone. There is a sanctioned fight happening in the coliseum, which I assure you has better seats, and popcorn." His patience was teetering on the edge, it was subtle but you could tell, only because you had pushed it there and past before.

Glynda: "Break it up everyone!" She was just mad, that was obvious. "We will take care of this mess!" The crowd dispersed, if only to not draw more ire.

Ironwood: "Let's go." He said to Winter, the two leaving, followed by Penny and some robots.

Ruby and Weiss finally managed to push past the other students, the younger of the two jumping and latching onto Qrow's arm, who was seemingly unfazed, much to your confusion.

Ruby: "UNCLE QROW! Did you miss me?! Did you miss me?!" She asked excitedly while your eyes widened.

Qrow: "Nope." He laughed as he dropped Ruby off his arm, making her hit the floor.

(Y/N): "Hold up, Uncle?!"

Ruby looked at you confused while standing back up, Qrow looking between the two of you barely holding his sniggering.

Ruby: "Yea, course! Wait, how do you know him?"

(Y/N): "He was my mentor..."

Qrow began laughing loudly while you and Ruby processed this, Ruby began laughing too. You, however, weren't as you realised you were going to have to explain the fact that you were dating not one but both of Qrow's nieces to him.

Ruby: "That actually makes too much sense!" She finally said, having calmed down somewhat.

Weiss: "It does explain your two's recklessness, I mean taking on my sister?!" She chided you, while you simply rolled your eyes, drawing Weiss's attention to your cheek.

Weiss absentmindedly pulled out a handkerchief and stepped towards you, wiping away the blood on your cheek, making you jump slightly. You tried to dismiss her and push away her hands, only making her press harder against the cut until the blood was gone, Qrow looking at this with a smirk.

Qrow: "Oh, so that's what you got up to at Beacon then, despite my warnings?" You looked at his telling smile, eyes widening.

(Y/N): "Oh nononon-"

Qrow: "No it's fine, I get it." He laughed, this caused Weiss to catch on.

Weiss: "Wait no that isn-!"

Ozpin: "Qrow, (Y/N), a word!" The headmaster yelled after you both, cutting off Weiss mid sentence.

Qrow: "Come on, we can talk with your girlfriend later..." He teased while walking off, you chasing after him to try and explain.

Ruby: "Speak to you later then!" Ruby yelled after the two who were out of earshot by now. "I wonder how he knew that quickly about (Y/N) and me..." She questioned while Weiss just facepalmed. "What, mad that my Uncle and (Y/N) kicked your sisters butt?"

Weiss: "Firstly, those were draws at best-"

Ruby: "I counted at least three missed strikes-" She mimicked Winter, much to Weiss's ire.

Weiss: "Secondly! Do you really not see what happened there?" She asked, wondering how truly oblivious her teammate was.

Ruby: "See what?" She asked, seemingly confused.

Weiss: "He thinks (Y/N) and I are dating?" She said in a loud whisper, clearly embarrassed going by the blush.

Ruby: "Well, from the way you were babying him, I can see why..." She teased, much to her partner's shock. "Yea I've picked up a few things..." She said proudly, crossing her arms triumphantly.

Weiss: "Manners clearly wasn't one." Ruby faked hurt, while Weiss laughed after a moment.

Ruby: "Speaking of manners, Winter was, let's say, strict. I see where you get it from."

Weiss: "That's just how she cares." She said wistfully and a tad defensively.

Ruby: "Yea well, she's checking on the dorm later isn't she?"

Weiss nodded before realising the state the dorm had been left in when they left for their tournament fight, she was lucky Winter was interrupted.

Weiss: "It's a total mess! We need to fix this, come on!"

Ruby: "Wait, no!" Before she could voice further protests Ruby was dragged towards her dorm, where she would be forced to clean her own mess.

Jack: "But why, you swore this off?"

Archer: "A few reasons; I found creativity again, I realised I enjoyed writing, I wanted to change RWBY lore for myself again, the JPDE fan game revived my love of RWBY... Also, when I temporarily revived my account, I found this..."

Archer: "I miss him, and it would be a disservice to not see this through."

Jack: "That means..."
