Ruby: "Is anyone else starving?" She asked looking to her teammates while clutching her stomach.

All four had just trudged back to the fairground after their victory over Team ABRN, they were shattered from the fight but more so hungry.

Blake: "I may have worked up an appetite." She said coolly only for her stomach to growl angrily, much to her embarrassment.

Weiss: "Gee, if only there was somewhere on campus to get food around here." She then gestured to the surrounding fairground and the various stalls of games and food stands. "Oh, wait."

Ruby: "Don't worry Weiss, I forgot about the fairgrounds as well." She said, patting her shoulder.

Weiss: "I was being facetious?" She said slightly dumbfounded.

Ruby: "Well if you were hungry why didn't you say?!"

Yang: "Come on, I know a great place!"

As the team began following Yang, Weiss's scroll began ringing. Pulling it out, she scoffed when she saw 'Father' in bold, she muted the device and tucked it away again, just waiting for it to ring out.

Before they could get any further they were stopped by Emerald, who was holding a red wallet with some Lien.

Emerald: "It's gonna be difficult without this." She dangled the wallet before chucking it back to Ruby, who swiftly caught it, after a minor freak out, and stuffed it into her back pocket again. "Good to see you Ruby."

Ruby: "Thanks Emerald! Ugh, girl pockets are the worst."

Yang: "What's up Em?"

Emerald: "Oh, just got back from your awesome fight! You were all amazing!" Ruby started mumbling incoherently while tapping her fingers together.

Blake: "I heard your team won your fight as well."

Yang: "How'd you all do in the fight?"

Emerald stopped for a moment, recalling the 'fight' her team had won. She had to fight to keep the grin off her face as they had easily kicked all of them around, literally.

Emerald: "Really well."

Ruby: "That's great! We should all get some victory food!"

Emerald: "You're too kind! But the rest of my team is..." She looked behind her and pointed out Mercury sniffing a boot before looking at it in disgust. "Really socially awkward."

Yang: "Oooh, yea, I get that." She said, trying not to glance at Ruby when saying it.

Emerald: "Oh yeah, looks like Merc and I are going to move on to the doubles round. What about you guys?" She asked, folding her arms and tilting her head.

Ruby: "Well, as the leader of this team, I thought long and hard about this decision." She announced proudly only for Weiss to lean in front of her.

Weiss: "We put it to a vote." Ruby quickly pushed Weiss away to correct herself.

Ruby: "Yes, so, but I decided that we should put it to a vote."

Blake: "We voted for Weiss and Yang." She said with a smile and rolling her eyes.

Weiss: "I will happily represent Team RWBY."

Yang: "Yeah, we're going to kick some butt!" She smirked with an air of confidence.

Emerald: "Well, if Mercury and I see you down the line, don't think we'll go down easy." She smirked back.

Yang: "Wouldn't have it any other way."

Emerald: "Alright, well we're going to catch some more fights." She said pointing her thumb back towards Mercury.

Ruby: "Have fun!" She cheered.

Emerald: "See you later!" She said happily before returning to Mercury. "I hate them."

Mercury: "I didn't ask."

Emerald: "I just- how can they be so happy all the time?!" She gestured wildly.

Mercury: "Orders are orders, especially from Cinder~" He teased.

Emerald: "Oh, shut up." She said, punching his shoulder.

Mercury: "Did you at least get what she wanted?"

Emerald: "It's the heiress and the bimbo."

Mercury: "Easy enough, let's give her the good news." He said as the two began heading towards the academy dorms.

Meanwhile, Team RWBY were at a lovely and quaint noodle shop, each sat on a stool as they ordered.

Yang: "I'll have a bowl of the regular please." She smiled as a bowl the size of her head was placed in front of her, filled to the brim of noodles.

Ruby: "Oooh, I'll have the same please." She said while staring at her sister's food, until her own was placed in front of her and she let out a joyful noise.

Looking at the oversized bowls and noodles her teammates had gotten, Weiss looked at the shop keeper.

Weiss: "Do you have anything with a low salt-" She started before getting interrupted, the same size bowl getting placed down on her board. She let out a small groan but didn't complain further.

Blake looked at the shop-keep before nodding with a small smile, one that the keeper returned before racing into the back of the stall. A clatter of pots and pans sounded out before one bowl of noodles was placed before Blake, a lone fish casually placed on the top as a sacrifice. Weiss could swear she could see stars in her eyes as she handed over her card.

Weiss: "How did you order... without speaking?"

Blake: "Yang, Pyrrha and I came here the other day."

Yang: "Funny story actu-"

She was cut off as Weiss's card was thrown like a dagger into the counter, embedding itself. Eyes trailing up all four saw 'Declined' printed in large flashing red letters. Blake's eyes widened and she started sliding the bowl closer to her, only for it to be snatched away.

Weiss: "But I was hardly into my monthly allowance..."

(Y/N): "I dread to think how high that could be." You commented while walking over, alongside team JNPR. Blake looked at you hopefully while you just shrugged. "Don't have my wallet, can't bail you out this time." Blake's head face planted the counter.

Pyrrha: "Perhaps I can be of assistance?" She said, holding up her own wallet.

Yang: "Aww, you don't have to."

Blake: "But she could!" Blake exclaimed quickly, her hope rekindled.

Pyrrha: "Well, you all deserve it after that well fought battle!"

Jaune: "Mind if we join you?"

Ruby gestured to the accompanying stools which all five quickly took. Soon enough all of them were finished with their meals, all stuffed, even Nora.

(Y/N): "I'm gonna explode... and that's okay..." You groaned, head down on the counter.

Pyrrha: "Maybe eating two bowls was a bad idea..." She asked, amusement evident in her voice.

(Y/N): "Haha..." You grumbled.

Jaune: "I'm gonna hurl..."

Nora: "Oh, aim it at the enemy!"

Ren: "Are you sure it was wise to eat before a fight?" He asked, glancing at Jaune in slight concern.

Pyrrha: "Of course! It will give us energy!" She gave a brilliant smile.

Ruby: "So you all think you're ready?"

Nora stood up and brought her fists down onto the bar, making the cutlery jump slightly.

Nora: "Of course, you've seen us in action! We've got a world-renowned fighter on our team, one who is basically ninja, I can bench five of me, Jaune, we trained all year, our weapons are awesome, Glynda barely yells at us anymore, and uh... Jaune!"

Ren: "Are you gonna take that?" He asked bringing everyone's attention to Jaune.

Jaune: "She's not wrong."

Nora: "I'm kidding, he knows I'm kidding." Nora began speeding up and slumping further with each word. "Don't be so nervous! The worst that can happen is we lose! Then is just a few more years of walking around school with everyone knowing we're failures, our friends will slowly abandon us to preserve their social status, we won't be able to show our faces in class, no one will sit with us in the cafeteria, Ren and I have no parents so we have no home left to go to, and we'll be officially renamed Team Lose-iper!" She slammed her head against the counter causing you to sit up in surprise.

Ren: "So, yeah, we're feeling pretty good." He said while rubbing Nora's back.

(Y/N): "Oh, you guys will be fine, y'know, probably."

Pyrrha: "Ignore him. If anything, we should be looking forward to a fight with actual guidelines, and not, well, ...murderers."

Yang: "Yeah, don't sweat it, we've all faced way worse before."

Blake: "Let's see. Grimm invasions, violent extremists, a destructive sociopath..."

Ruby: "And that's all while we're still in training! Imagine what it would be like to graduate!"

(Y/N): "It's more or less the same to be honest." You flashed a grin.

Before anyone could call your bullshit, you were saved by Port and Dr. Oobleck blaring out of the intercom.

Port: "Would Team JNPR please report to the battlegrounds immediately!"

Dr. Oobleck: "Yes! Like they were scheduled to, several minutes ago!"

Pyrrha: "Well, it looks like this is it." She smiled and nodded at RWBY before turning and walking towards the colosseum, shortly followed by the rest of JNPR.

Ruby: "Go get 'em!" She yelled after them.

Blake: "We should probably set off as well, if we want to watch the fight."

(Y/N): "I'll see you later then, Ozpin barred me from going to the colosseum."

Yang: "Really, why?"

(Y/N): "Something, something, responsibility." You stood up with a smile.

Weiss: "And suddenly it all made sense."

(Y/N): "Watch it Ice Queen,"

Weiss: "Because you won't watch it yourself?" Her teammates looked between you two before bursting into laughter, your mouth hung agape, impressed.

(Y/N): "I'm gonna... go cry. I'll get you back for that." You walked away shaking your head while hiding your laughter.

Ruby: "I think you killed him." She grinned at her bestie.

Team RWBY entered the Coliseum through one of its tunnels into a sprawling set of stands. Making their way to their seats they all settled in and prepared to cheer on JNPR.

Mercury, Cinder, and Emerald had walked in behind them and chose to sit at a different stand, all sitting together. Mercury was happily stuffing his face on popcorn before he gestured to the fighters

Mercury: "I wonder who's gonna win." He said, narrowly avoiding everything spilling out.

Emerald: "As if we didn't already know."

Cinder: "Come now Emerald. Even if you think you know how the story ends, that doesn't make the journey any less interesting." Stuffing her hand into Mercury's popcorn bucket she pulled out a number of kernels. Using a fraction of her Maiden power they quietly popped to life allowing her to chow down before offering Emerald some.

Ports voiced jumped to life on the intercom, announcing the fight.

Port: "Welcome one and all to the next match of the tournament! Team JNPR of Beacon versus Team BRNZ of Shade!"

Both sides got their weapons primed and into battle stances, then a circle of holographic roulette's started spinning frantically through various symbols before BRNZ's side landed on a green pine tree and JNPR's a gray thunderstruck mountain.

With a mechanical whir that roared throughout the stadium, the two chosen battlegrounds appeared either side, a towering mountain and a dense forest.

Upon their appearance Port began a countdown, quickly joined by all the audience who shouted the numbers

Port: "Three, two, one, begin!"

May Zedong of BRNZ quickly turned and ran to the forest, hooking onto a branch with her weapon and pulling herself up into a tree, while the rest of her team charged forward only to be met by JNPR. Aiming down the sights of her sniper rifle she sought who she could assist quickly.

Brawnz Ni and Pyrrha quickly collided in the centre, being the first to the fray. Blocking a sudden jerk upwards from his knee with her shield, Pyrrha stepped back a fraction to strike with her sword, only for Brawnz to bring his fist down upon it from the air, a reverb of clanging metal audibly showing no damage had been done due to the claw like weapon on his fist. Pyrrha quickly followed this attack by bashing him in the jaw with her shield, causing him to stumble, before swinging tightly with her sword. He narrowly rolled to the side while holding his jaw .

Ren and Nolan Porfirio were staring each other down, weapons at the ready, neither going in for the first attack. This allowed Nora to be the ninja for once, a part she was over eager to play, and sneak up on Nolan. It was only at the last second he noticed the oversized hammer barreling through the air at him. Inelegantly, he bent backwards, the hammer sailing over, and ended up in a roll away from the two before springing up and swinging at Nora who just about avoided the attack.

Finally taking her first shot, May's bullet ripped through the air and exploded the ground at Ren's feet, who had been running to help Nora, causing him to hesitate enough for Nolan to knock Nora back. Cocking her weapon again she switched target and aimed at Jaune who had just deflected Roy Stallion's buzzsaws. A bullet soared past Jaune's head causing him to look to the trees and notice the glint of a gun. Evaluating their open position he laid the beginnings of a plan.

Jaune: "Retreat!" He yelled with new found command, his team nodding at him and pulling back.

Locking shields, Pyrrha and Jaune defended Nora and Ren as they dove behind some rocks, narrowly avoiding a more rapid fire of bullets, before the former pair joined them. The three looked to Jaune as suppressive fire soared overhead and the other team regrouped.

Pyrrha: "What do we do?"

Jaune: "Uh, hmm." He stuttered, braving a look at the three melee fighters beginning to approach their position. "Spread out, make yourselves harder targets, stay in front of them!" He ordered, just before having to bring up his shield as Brawnz brought his fist down on him.

All of JNPR quickly scattered, following the advice of their leader, not giving May many chances to mark them. Scowling she jumped higher in the tree and finally had sight on the enemy fighters and let loose a few shots, mainly to distract or panic.

Brawnz had switched to be going after Pyrrha again, the two duelling like they had before, only she was being slightly more defensive in her movements to prevent May an opportunity.

While this happened Nolan and Ren were engaged in a high speed dance of dodging and swiping with their weapons, neither able to connect with the other. Ren had just flipped back to avoid an attack from Nolan only for the ground he was landing on to explode as a fire infused bullet smashed into the ground. This distracted Ren enough for Nolan to thrust his cattle prod into his chest, electricity surging through him as he tumbled backwards. Unfortunately for the victorious man, Nora just so happened to see this.

Nora: "Ren!" She exclaimed, pushing away from Roy who she had been fighting, and running at Nolan.

Bringing her hammer down with a mighty swing, Nolan managed to side step, the attack cracking the ground at their feet. The young man then took the opportunity to electrocute Nora in much the same way as Ren. However, when the ginger began to grin evilly he tried to pull away, only for her to grip his arm keeping it in place like a vice.

Meanwhile, in JNPR's dorm room, you were watching the fight on a projected screen against the wall. During the fight you had been 'coaching' them, all the while bouncing from foot to foot. After 'praising' Jaune for going to engage Roy, you couldn't help a childish grin emerging as Nora began to power up.

(Y/N): "Go on Nora! Rip him a new one!" You yelled, still pretending they could hear you, engrossed in the fight.

That she did as, after the electricity abruptly cut from Nolan's weapon and Port had explained her semblance, she pushed him a step away and swung her mighty hammer like one might a pillow, it crashing into him and sending him literally bouncing across the ground.

A crackle of more lighting drew Jaune's attention and he ordered Nora to go power up further, of which she was happy to comply with.

Jaune: "Ren, keep the sniper off her." He said while running past him.

Ren: "Sure... why not." He replied sarcastically, no one hearing it, before running towards the treeline.

As Nora ascended the mountain, jumping from rock to rock in a hurry, the remaining three in JPR assaulted their opponents. Ren kept May's sights on him, taking the odd hit and run attack on one of the opponents, narrowly avoiding shots by the increasingly frustrated sniper.

Roy narrowly dodged a swipe from Jaune's blade, the attack going slightly wider than it should've, before launching his saws from his wrists. The saws ripped through the air only to be blocked by the blondes shield, causing him to stumble back slightly as the saws bounced back to Roy. Jaune quickly recovered however and rushed back at him, delivering a number of cuts and thrusts that Roy had to block or avoid.

Meanwhile up in the stands Team RWBY were watching the fight, their leader happily cheering for her friend.

Ruby: "Yea! Get em Jaune!"

Weiss: "Well he's certainly improved." She commented, somewhat impressed.

Yang: "He's good, but he has nothing on Pyrrha." She said pointing out the redhead.

Following the blonde's gaze, Pyrrha could be seen taking on both Nolan and Brawnz, easily blocking and redirecting their attacks due to her semblance.

Raising her shield, Pyrrha stopped Brawnz leaping assault with his claws, before stepping backwards letting him crash to the floor, then swept at Nolan who quickly backed away. As she did this Brawnz had recovered and swiped Pyrrha's legs from under her with a spinning kick, while jumping to his own feet.

Tilting herself further, Pyrrha managed to catch herself on one hand and pushed, allowing her to go higher into the air in a back-flip. While in the air her sword transformed to it's spear mode just before she threw it at Brawnz, who just about brought his arms up to cover his face, sending him onto his back before rolling. She then threw her shield below her and brought it under her feet with her semblance while rocketing towards her next target.

Watching his teammate go down, Nolan only noticed Pyrrha's shield when it was inches from his face, at which point it was too late as he was sent to the ground from the impact of the redhead and her shield colliding with him, his aura shattering and him being declared as defeated. Pyrrha, in the immediate seconds of impact, back-flipped off the shield and landed gracefully on the ground, only for her weapons to fly back to her in a black hue.

Brawnz pulled back retreating to the woods before calling Roy over, the two getting cover behind the trees. Brawnz then poked his head out to see Nora ascending the mountain, aiming for the lightning at the top, something he did not want knowing what happened to Nolan.

Brawnz: "May! Mountain ginger!" He yelled to his teammate who almost instantly got his message, her sniper snapping towards Nora, who continued unaware.

Ren: "Nora!" He yelled, looking to Jaune who had wide eyes.

Jaune: "Pyrrha, up!"

Pyrrha instantly understood and ran towards the blonde, pushing herself to run faster as May locked her sights on Nora and inserted dust into her weapon. Muscles burning, Pyrrha jumped just as Jaune went to one knee and raised his shield in time for her to bounce off it again as a deafening shot fired out. Spinning around with barely any time remaining, the redhead raised her shield and hid herself behind it.

With a loud clang and a louder explosion, Pyrrha was sent hurtling towards the rocks, hitting them with a small cry of pain but having saved her teammate from a kill-shot. This resulted in Nora reaching the summit and raising her weapon, lighting striking it causing her to grin as both her and her hammer were powered up. She then collapsed the weapon into it's grenade launcher form revealing 6 primed grenades now supercharged. While kissing her hand and blowing it towards the trees she let loose the grenades, all hurtling towards the forest in the shape of a heart.

May only saw her impending doom once she raised her head from her sniper, having been reloading it for a second kill-shot, and at that point it was too late but too gawk. Once the grenades connected with the ground May was sent flying from the trees and off the platform, colliding with the invisible barrier in the stands and falling to the arena floor defeated in both aura and knockout. Her teammates were lucky enough to just emerge from the forest, only to be knocked onto their faces from the explosion, taking time to pull themselves up.

While they did this, Team JNPR gathered themselves all reuniting in the centre. Victory was in sight and all of them were determined to win. Jaune nodded to his team and pointed his sword towards the two, now standing, enemies.

Jaune: "Alright guy's, let's finish this with team attacks! Ren! Nora! Flower Power!" Ren and Nora nodded and rushed forward.

(Y/N): "That is still such a stupid name." You laughed while shaking your head, the live feed showing Jaune announce the 'Team Attack'.

Ren quickly circled around the Branwz and Roy, his weapons firing shot after shot to keep them pinned, trying to keep them distracted as Nora approached. However, they noticed just as she brought her hammer down, both jumping to either side to avoid the impact, causing Nora puff her cheeks in annoyance.

Jaune: "Arkos! Pincer them!" He yelled as Pyrrha and himself split up to run either side of Brawnz and Roy.

Jaune took on Roy, using his shield to push him backwards and keep himself safe, as the other man just launched attack after attack with his saws, slowly backing up. This was the same with Brawnz and Pyrrha as the latter forced him to backup, his claws not able to get through her defences. Quickly the two teammates were forced back to back while trying to take out Jaune and Pyrrha. They quickly realised their mistakes as Jaune, Pyrrha and Ren now had them encircled.

Brawnz: "Oh fuc-"

He was cut shot as Nora ran in on the last remaining side and nailed both of them with her hammer, the impact causing a shock-wave as both were sent soaring out of the arena and into the barrier before crashing to the floor.

Roars erupted around the stadium at JNPR's victory, RWBY and Yourself cheering loudly for your friends, despite you not being there to see it in person. As the deafening crowd went on, JNPR gathered in a team hug while laughing.

Meanwhile in Vale at the small 'Crow Bar' bar one lone patron could be seen with a small army of empty shot glasses, just before he took another drink. A small screen announced the victory of JNPR over BRNZ, although the grey-haired man clearly didn't care.

Bartender Joe: "Huh, those kids weren't half bad!" He said, trying again to strike up conversation with his patron of the last couple hours.

Drunky: "Meh." Was his only response as he waved off the fight before draining another shot.

The screen then flashed back to the announcement screen, showing a new fight about to occur between SSSN of Haven and NDGO of Shade.

After a shocking and eventful fight team SSSN was found to be the victors, much to many of the crowd's disappointment. The bartender appeared to thoroughly enjoy the fight however.

Bartender Joe: "Now that was a match, eh?" He said, adding a whistle in for good effect.

Drunky: "Heh, that was a mess!" He laughed, words slurring slightly.

Bartender Joe: " Come on man, you didn't like them, the Vale kids, or any of the rounds before that? What fight are you here for?" He asked, slightly amazed at the drunks disinterest.

As if the universe tried to answer his question, an Atlas aircraft with elegant ribbons trailing it flew past, just in view of the bar.

Drunky: "That one." He said, pointing towards the retreating aircraft. He then stood while chucking a few lien onto the counter as he downed one last shot. "Happy Vytal festival!" He then stumbled out of the bar, his world shaking.

As Bartender Joe picked up a glass and watched his only customer leave he couldn't help but shake his head. However, when he placed down a clean glass and went to pick up a dirty one he managed to knock off another clean one, causing it to shatter.

Bartender Joe: "Aww, gee darn it!"

Back at the Stadium RWBY were currently clapping at the surprise victory for Team SSSN, despite Weiss's insistence that NDGO kick their butts earlier.

Ruby: "That was so close!" She sighed, leaning back in her chair.

Yang: "But it looks like the dorks made it to the next round."

Blake: "Emphasis on dork." She said as they watched Sun and Neptune dance like idiots.

Dr. Oobleck: " That concludes the matches for today. Please leave the Coliseum IN A CALM AND ORDERLY FASHION!" He yelled over the intercom, taking everyone by surprise.

Yang: "Come on, we need to go congratulate them and JNPR!"

All four stood from their seats and began to leave, only for Weiss to suddenly stop, causing Ruby to bounce into her and the other two teammates to walk off leaving them.

Ruby: "Uh what are you looking at?" She said, following her gaze to see an elegant Atlas airship soar over the horizon and towards Beacon Academy.

Weiss: "She's here..." She said, a smile of joy and anxiety painting her face.

Archer: "Hope you all enjoyed! As you can guess the next chapter will deal with a particular drunk returning for at least a chapter. Can't wait to see how that pans out."

Jack: "Especially with (Y/N) dating both of Qrow's nieces."
