Archer: Okay so I messed up on my last chapter at the very end due to sleepiness it's nothing major though I just wanted to address it. Also forgot to mention your character wears your coat on top of the school uniform, much like Ruby wears her hood over it. That should be all so see ya.

Your POV
You were sat just behind team RWBY in class. The lesson had just begun and you were bored out of your mind.

Port: "Monsters, demons, prowlers of the night, yes the creatures of Grimm have many names, but I just refer to them as prey. Haha!" This laugh was enough to wake Ruby from the sleep she had fallen into fairly quickly when class started. "Uhh and you shall to upon graduating from this prestigious academy. Now as I was saying, Vale as well as the other three kingdoms are safe havens in an otherwise treacherous world, our planet is absolutely teaming with creatures that would love nothing more than to tear you to pieces and that's where we come in, huntsmen, huntresses." Port clicked his tongue while pointing at Yang who just rolled her eyes and laughed awkwardly. "Individuals who have sworn to protect those who cannot protect themselves, from what you ask? Why the very world."

Guy: Standing from his seat he shouted. "Ayyyy yea!" After a number of looks from fellow students, you included, he sat back down.

Port: "That is what you are training to become but first a story of a young, handsome man, me. Blah blah blah blah." You tuned him out at this point and instead focused on something much more interesting. The annoyance of Weiss.

You watched as Ruby drew a poor rendition of Port with stink lines around him and then laughed when she blew a raspberry.

Port: "The moral of this story a true huntsman must be honourable..." Ruby rather impressively balanced a book and an apple on a pencil with one finger, Weiss however had a scowl on her face. "A true huntsman must be dependable..." Ruby was asleep again in the first class of the year as Weiss's scowl grew. "A true huntsman must be strategic, well educated and wise..." Ruby was not so discreetly picking her nose while Weiss looked as if she was gonna blow a gasket. "So who among you believe themselves to be the embodiment of these traits?"

Weiss: "I do sir!"

(Y/N): "Pff! Ahaha" Your outburst earned a menacing glare from Weiss "Oh I'm sorry you were serious, no sorry carry on."

Port: "Well then get changed then be ready to face your opponent."

It had been about five minutes until Weiss finally came back, moving quickly to the front she stood prim and proper, rapier at the ready. To you she looked more ready for some sort of music recital.

Yang: "Go Weiss!"

Blake: "Fight well." She was waving around a tiny banner that said RWBY which left you wondering where she got it.

Ruby: "Yea represent team RWBY!"She seemed very excited which brought a smile too your face, that was all too quickly crushed by Weiss.

Weiss: "Ruby I'm trying to concentrate."

Ruby: "Oh sorry."

Port: "Let the match begin!" He cut open the cage to reveal a Boarbatusk which charged straight at Weiss.

Weiss swiftly dodged out of the way while striking at the creatures armour the strike had no effect and might've enraged the creature further. Landing on her feet she faced the creature which turned around and got ready to charge again.

Ruby: "Hang in there Weiss." Weiss shot an undeserving glare at Ruby for this comment.

Weiss jumped at the creature and tried to land an arial strike, the creature however blocked the attack with its tusks and managed to trap her rapier in between them.

Ruby: "Come on Weiss show it who's boss!" Weiss glared taking her attention off the Grimm which allowed it to throw her rapier away.

Port: "What will you do without your weapon?"

Weiss flipped over the Grimm and rushed for her rapier, sliding across the floor while turning around she grabbed her weapon and got ready to defend as the Boarbatusk prepared a spin attack.

Ruby: "Go for it's belly it doesn't have armour there!" You found this sound advice on her part, while Weiss shouted back a response.

Weiss: "Stop telling me what to do!"

The Grimm came rolling towards her and she threw up a glyph, knocking it onto its back. She then jumped up and bounced off a glyph stabbing the Grimm killing it.

Port: "Bravo, bravo! It seems we are indeed in the presence of a true huntress in training! I'm afraid that's all the time we have for today, be sure to cover the assigned readings and remain vigilant. Class dismissed."

Weiss walked off with a scowl on her face refusing to acknowledge anyone.

Jaune: "Sheesh what's with her?"

You were following Ruby, who in turn was following Weiss. Ruby ran up behind her turning the corner while you hid in the shadows sneaking more towards the balcony while listening in.

Ruby: "Weiss!"

Weiss: "What?!"

Ruby: "What's wrong with you? Why are you act-"

Weiss: "What's wrong with me? What's wrong with you?! Your supposed to be a leader and all you've been is a nuisance!"

Ruby: "What did I do?"

Weiss: "That's just it! You've done nothing to earn your position! Back in the forest you acted like a child and you've only continued to do so." Ruby seemed hurt by this.

Ruby: "Weiss where is this coming from? What about all the talk about working together? I thought you believed about working as a team."

Weiss: "Not a team led by you. I've studied and trained and frankly I deserve better." Weiss turned her back on Ruby, who tried to reach out to her. "Ozpin made a mistake."

And with that Weiss walked off leaving a disheartened Ruby alone, you were going to comfort her when you saw Ozpin signal you to go after Weiss. Nodding you turned and walked in the other direction.

After walking out onto the balcony you saw Weiss leaning on the railing looking out over the courtyard. Suppressing all your snark towards the Schnees as best you could, you approached her.

(Y/N): "Quite the show you put on in the classroom there Weiss." She turned to face you.

Weiss: "Hmm oh yeah." To you she seemed troubled.

(Y/N): "Is something troubling you?"

Weiss: "It's just, I think I should've been the leader of team RWBY."

(Y/N): "No."

Weiss: "What?"

(Y/N): "No you shouldn't have. I've met Ozpin a handful of times but I trust him and fully believe he made the right choice."

Weiss: "So you would blindly accept his decision even after seeing how exceptional I am?"

(Y/N): "With all the respect I can muster right now, that 'fight' was a travesty. You were unfocused and sloppy but I'm sure you could've done better-"

Weiss: "I could've if Ruby hadn't been distracting me!"

(Y/N): "It may have been a distraction to you, but to me it was her trying to be a leader and you refusing to listen due to jealousy."

Weiss: "I would never be jealous of her!"

(Y/N): "Your jealous that she was elected as the leader." She looked down. "Back in the forest while we all stood around, Ruby was brave enough to try something, granted it didn't turn out well but no one else attempted to do anything before that. I also believe she came up with the plan to defeat that Nevermore. Now I'm not saying she's perfect, no one is. What I'm saying is she has proven herself, you are just ignoring it because you want it your way as you have had it most of your life."

Weiss: "That is not remotely true!" You raised an eyebrow. "Ok not entirely."

(Y/N): "So do you think acting like an entitled princess is going to cause Ozpin to reconsider?"

Weiss: "I suppose not."

(Y/N): "So instead of acting out because of what you don't have, act upon what you do have. Your not happy with the way Ruby leads? Help her improve by acting as a better teammate. A leader can only lead those who will listen." Weiss nodded understanding your point of view. "And if you can do all that then I'll be able to change how I think of Schnees."

Weiss actually smiled and thanked you before leaving saying she had an idea on how to make it up to Ruby.

Yang: "Good work hot stuff." Turning around you saw Yang.

(Y/N): "Thank you, I guess."

Yang: "May I ask you a question?"

(Y/N): "Didn't you just do that?"

Yang: "Alright may I ask 3 questions?"

(Y/N): "No."

Yang: "What, why?"

(Y/N): "Because you already have."

Yang: "Eyyyyy."

(Y/N): "Eyyyy. Anyway what did you want to ask?"

Yang: "You barely know Ruby why did you do that for her?"

(Y/N): "I know how much a Schnee's words and actions can hurt someone and I don't think Ruby would suit being drunk all of the time."

Yang: "Well thanks it's good to know someone else is looking out for her."

With that Yang walked off leaving you to your thoughts.

(Y/N): 'That poor drunk bastard.'
