43-more than worth it

Dinner went off very smoothly. The cooking process had a couple of rough patches. Lacey and Micah almost burned down the whole kitchen when they convinced Catherine and Jade to let me try their hand at cooking. It didn't go too well. But the good news is Lacey and Micah didn't kill each other, the two just laughed it off. That I was thankful for. Those two still butt heads once in a while, but here lately they have been getting along pretty good.

My desert which was a chocolate cake - yes chocolate- was loved by everyone. They all felt bad that I couldn't have any but I did make me my own little strawberry cheesecake. Although I can't say it was just for me because Nick ate most of it. I wanted to be mad but he looked adorable stealing bites off of my plate. I knew the reason for it too, he didn't want to eat any chocolate, if he did then he wouldn't be able to kiss me later and that would make us both mad.

Since us girls cooked dinner we also cleaned up. The rule we came up was that if you cooked it you clean it up. It made things easier and saved us all from arguing over it. While I was clearing the table I noticed that Nick pulled Charlie into a different room and closed the door. I went over to try to figure out what it was about but the voices were too muffled for me to hear. I wanted to ask one of the other guys what it was all about but I refrained.

Probably just guy stuff.

Maybe Nick was asking Charlie if he got the pond smell off of him and if he did, he would want to know his secret?

Yes, Nick still smelled like the pond but it wasn't as bad as before. I could tolerate it now.

I was heading up to mine and Nicks room when I see the two coming out from the other room. Charlie was smirking and Nick was shaking his head and rolling his eyes at Charlie's facial expression. Now I was really curious.

Nick notices me standing on the stairs and comes up to me. "Come on." He simply says. I go to question him but he just nods for me to follow me.

Once we are in our room he gives me a kiss. "Uhh...what is going on?" I ask.

"Change your clothes and wait for my text." He softly demands and gives me a kiss on the forehead. Next he grabs some of his clothes, gives me another toe curling kiss then leaves the room.

What the hell just happened?

I could stand here and stow at the fact that I don't have a clue to what is going on but I decide against it. I groan loudly then go over to the dresser to get some clothes. I choose a sweatshirt and a pair of leggings then move into the bathroom to hop in the shower. After I am finished I check my phone but see no text from my boyfriend. I was growing very impatient.

I go back to the bathroom and decide to put a little bit of make up on and redo my ponytail. He didn't tell me to dress up or down, to look presentable or not. I also spray a tiny bit of perfume on just incase. I took the chance to look out the window when I walk back into the room. It was very late winter, no leaves on the trees and everything was still that disgusting brown color. The temperature on my phone said 41 degrees, so there was a chill in the air.

I'm pacing the room when I hear my phone ding.

Meet me in the foyer - Batman

I frown. What in the world was he planning?

I grab a blanket and wrap it around me because I'm kind of cold and slip on my UGG boots. I make my way downstairs to see only Nick standing there in a long sleeve shirt and black pj pants. I look around for our friends but they are no where in sight, I do, however, hear their laughter coming from the living room.

"Nick...what's going on?" I ask carefully.

"We are going camping." He says with a smile.

I furrow my brows, "We didn't bring your camping gear, babe."

"True. But Charlie looked around and found something that worked. So come on." He explains and holds his hand out for me to take. I sigh and put my hand in his which causes him to intertwine our fingers. A satisfied smile forms on both of our faces.

Nick leads me through the front door and across the yard. Not once do either of complain about the cold. Even though I have a blanket around us there is still a warmth enveloping us.

We make our way through a little forest and right in the middle there sits nothing. Huh. I was expecting a tent.

I look around, "Where's the tent?"

"We are going to set it up. You practically drooled over watching me set up my tent on my birthday so I figured why not let you drool again." Nick says with a wink.

"Okay, I was not drooling. Yes, I did discreetly check you out but I kept my saliva in my mouth." I correct.

"Sure you did. Anyways, help me." He laughs.

I lay the blanket on a stump and start helping him set up the tent. I couldn't ignore the excitement of watching him set this thing up and helping him. I enjoyed helping him the first time and have wanted to do it again ever since. So this was a real treat for me. This tent wasn't as upscale or as big as Nicks but it would do for the night. I've come to the conclusion that if Nick was going to be with me while I sleep on the ground then I was happy to participate.

"Not bad." Nick nods his head. He then goes off to the left of the forest and comes back with blankets and a ton of pillows.

"Wow you came prepared." I say as I grab some of the blankets from him.

"Don't need my cheerleader getting cold, now do we." Nick says.

We both enter the tent and start laying down blankets to make the ground softer. Next are the pillows which I recognize are from random places in the house. A few more heavier blankets go on top so we have something to cover ourselves up with. There are also two lanterns to give us some light.

"I think that will do." Nick looks at our work in appreciation.

I lay down to test out the comfiness and I have to say it actually isn't bad. Not the pillow top bed we've been sleeping on but this will do for the night.

"Is this the reason you and Charlie left after dinner?" I ask when that thought hits me.

"Yep. I texted him and asked if he had anything like this lying around. He told me he would look, turns out there was some old camping gear in the garage. Charlie told me I could take whatever I needed from the house to help." Nick confirms laying down next to me.

I find his hand and hold it in mine. I can't believe he did all of this for me. "This is really sweet of you."

I see a light blush appear on his cheeks, "We were both bummed we couldn't bring my camping gear. And I wanted some real alone time with you. If we stayed in the house, they would never leave us alone."

He had a point. Ever since we got here we've been interrupted every time we get a chance to be alone. It's either someone wanting or needing something from us. And even though the house was exceptionally large you could still hear things in your rooms so we had to be quite with our make out sessions. That isn't fun at all. And don't even get me started on our friends who were doing the deed. Yeah, that was awkward.

I look at my phone to see it's only after ten. I'm not the least bit tired at the moment. "What do we do now?" I ask softly.

"I don't know." Nick replies. "We could ask each other questions." He suggests.

I turn to lay on my side and Nick does the same so we are facing each other. He also doesn't let go of my hand.

"You go first. Ask me anything." I tell him.

Nick thinks about his question for moment. We already know a lot about one another but you can always learn something new. "Okay. Who was your first kiss with?"

"That's what you are starting with?" I ask confused. Nick nods his head yes. "I was in the sixth grade and it was with a boy named Keith. He and a few of his other friends were playing truth or dare and he got dared to kiss me in the school hallway. It was mortifying." I cringe at the memory. "I remember Lacey punching him and getting detention for it."

Nick laughs. "Go Lacey! Does this boy still go to our school?"

I roll my eyes, "Nope. He moved that summer."

"Good." He mutters under his breath.

I chuckle at his jealousy and protective side. "My turn. Hmm...when was your first kiss?"

"I knew you would ask that." Now it's his turn to roll his eyes at me. "I was in third grade. The girl was my partner in science class. Her name was Quinn and she asked me if I wanted to try her new cherry flavored chapstick. I said yes and instead of letting me use the actual chapstick she kissed me. Thankfully the teacher didn't see us." He explains.

I crack up laughing. "Is that why you hate cherries and their scent?"

"Yes! She literally grabbed a hold of my shirt and kissed me! I went home that afternoon and told my dad about it. He said I was a little player and that more girls will do that to me. I was convinced girls had cooties until I got my first crush in seventh grade." He says laughing.

We both laugh for a good ten minutes before finally cooling down. Our first kisses were awful.

"Ask me something else. It can't be funny otherwise I'll have to go pee in the woods." I tell him wiping a tear from my eye.

"Fine. What was your first impression of me?" He asks.

"Wow, that doesn't have a funny answer." I mumble. "I'd seen you in the halls, heard all of the rumors but I wasn't convinced any of them were true. After what happened to Emily I knew it was stupid to listen to what high school kids said. I will admit I was afraid of you but when you saved me I was intrigued. I always wondered why you never befriended anyone." I confess.

"People asked me to hang out but I said no. I had my own set of friends who are pretty great. I always felt like an outsider." Nick said.

"Now that I've gotten to know you oh so well, I'm glad I didn't listen to those idiots. If I did then I wouldn't be here with you." I whisper leaning in to give him a kiss.

Nick kisses me back then pulls back. We look at each in the eyes for moment. I still can't believe this is the same guy who roamed the halls by himself for a year and half. He didn't let anyone get to him. Even now that we are dating he ignores all of the gossip and the girls who suddenly want him. He walks me into the school, walks me to and from my classes all while holding my hand. Nick will give me a random little kiss when we are standing at my or his locker, he doesn't care who is looking. He hangs out with my brothers and I hang out with his sisters. He's kind to my parents and to my bestie.

He truly is the best boyfriend a girl can ask for.

"I love you." I say.

Nicks features soften at my words. "I love you too."

I move closer so I can give him another kiss. A kiss that is full of passion, promise and love. I've never opened up with someone the way I have with him. He makes it so easy for me to tell him things. Even if it's something so small, he sits there holding my hand and listens to me. Nick does so much for me and I try my best to reciprocate each time.

"We should kind of take it slow." Nick mumbles against my lips.

"I don't want too. I want you. All of you. Tonight." I say each word carefully and looking him in the eyes so he knows I'm being one hundred percent sure.

"We don't have to." He says.

I don't reply. I sit up on my knees and removed my shirt. I didn't pack anything special but I did pack a bra and underwear set that will hopefully work. I don't remove my leggings, that's a task I prefer him to do. Nick sits up and looks at me, well my bra covered chest. I went back and forth between the color but judging by the look on his face I think I nailed it. I chose a blush colored set, it wasn't anything special, just a push up bra and thong set.

Nick puts his hands on my waist and pulls me as close as he can get me. Keeping those warm hazel eyes on my face, I know he's searching for any regret I may have but there isn't any. I love him and I want to do this with him. I have been saving myself for someone worth it and he is more than worth it.

I place my hands and the back of his neck run them up through his hair. Nick takes a deep breath and closes his eyes. I then move my hands down to the hem of his long sleeve and pull it up off of him revealing that sexy chest of his. Nicks breathing has gotten faster as has mine. We knew this was happening.

He looks at me one last time before crashing his lips down on mine. This was happening. I was ready and so was he. Clothes were leaving our bodies. Moans were being released and we were connected in a whole new way.

I don't regret for one second.
