A big universe, isn't it?

(Ok, quick note, I decided, 'why not write in third person today' so I did. Might change depending on things, but eh- Also, yes, I took a little longer to get this chapter out I forgot school was returning)

"...What do you mean this isn't your world?" Aizawa mutters.

"...i uh, mean exactly that. this isn't my world!" Sans says in a slightly hysteric voice. Sans continues to pace the room laughing to himself nervously. "and by world, I mean universe!" Sans added, his walking evolved into spinning around. Aizawa sits, unsure of what to do.  izawa stands and stops Sans mid-spin.

"Sans, I need you to relax, ok?" Aizawa said, Sans's smile sunk slightly. Sans brought his hand up to his head and combed through his hair.

"you think i'm insane, don't you." Sans says, then pauses. "just like them, the way you're looking at me. you don't believe me, do you?" Sans sighs.

"I do, but I need you to explain, what universe? How'd you get here? What happened?" Aizawa persists, Sans takes a deep breath.

"where do you want me to begin?" Sans mutters, Aizawa thinks for a second.

"What's the difference between your universe and this one?" Aizawa asks.

"gonna start with the broader one, alright then." Sans huffs, and he pulls his chair from his desk over and sits on it. "well, for starters, quirks don't exist, instead, we call it magic. instead of the main species being human like this world, in our world, there are two. humans and monsters, which is what i am." Aizawa nods, Sans continues. "one day war broke out between the two, yada yada yada, monsters lost, so we got locked underground by a magic barrier that can only be broken with seven human souls. fast-forward a few hundred years, we've collected six souls, and the final human falls down. frisk." Sans says the name bitterly like it were the vilest thing in existence.

"The villain?" Aizawa asks, Sans simply nods.

"this human, unlike the ones before, had a power, the power of determination. this power gave them the ability to SAVE, LOAD and RESET the timeline. no one remembered the resets... no one besides me and the damn flower." Sans pauses, taking a shaky breath. "at first, they went through our underground world peacefully, then they broke the barrier and set us free. but then they kept resetting, the days kept repeating and repeating, and i was the only one that knew. but then they changed something, they stopped being so kind, they became bored. at first, they killed one or two monsters to see what would happen, but then... they did a genocide run... they killed everyone. and i couldn't stop them." Sans paused again, making sure to push back the urge to throw something out the window. "there was a reason i couldn't stop them, a few actually. my hp, my job, and my ability." Sans glares down at the floor.

"What job?" Aizawa mutter urging Sans to continue.

"my job as the royal judge. my job was to judge anyone who wished to see the king, anyone who passed through the judgment hall. i wasn't allowed to stop them anytime before then. then they got there, we fought, the only reason i stood a chance is because i could dodge unlike the other monsters. that and my extra ability."

"Extra ability?" Aizawa asks curiously.

"karmic retribution. it's like a poison effect, the potency depends on the sins the person has committed. that's part of the reason i've been holding it back here." Sans explains.

"What do you mean?" Aizawa asks, confused.

"my world sorta works like a videogame, you have a certain amount of hp. as long as you don't lose all your hp, you won't die. that's also the reason i dodged, because my hp was really low.. but here there is no hp, so i'm not sure how kr would translate here. for all i know, someone could begin to decay from the inside and turn purple, or their bodily functions could just stop working." Sans shrugs. "point is, it's dangerous, and i don't want that blood on my hands in case it does kill someone." Sans says.

(Anyone get the reference?)

"anyway, after many attempts, they did kill me, then killed the king. then they reset and did it again. that continued over and over and over in a continuous loop until i ended up here." Sans says, through Sans' story Aizawa had grown noticeably paler. "yeah, it's a lot to take in, isn't it." Sans said, Aizawa's brows furrowed.

"Why were you the only one that could remember?" Aizawa asked.

"well, technically i wasn't, nobody besides me and flowey, but i consider him a nobody anyways." Sans chuckles, after seeing the look on Aizawa's face, Sans continues. "flowey is a soulless flower monster, he had the resets before frisk and used them in a similar way." Sans explained.

"so this power can be passed on through determination?" Aizawa asks, Sans nods. "so how could you remember? Flowey makes sense since he had the power before. Did you have the power before him?" Aizawa asks, he is really good at absorbing things, isn't he, jez.

"no, but i do have determination. it's a small amount but just enough for me to remember the resets... and bend time and space." Sans said, Aizawa gave Sans a 'Sorry, what-' face.

"Has there been a reset since you've been here?" Aizawa asks, paranoia slowly crawling into his mind.

"not that i know of." Sans sighs, leaning back on his chair, Aizawa nods.

"What is determination? And how do you get it?" Aizawa asks.

"it's a soul trait, you know, my blue magic and how it grabs onto a person's soul. well, souls come in different colours, which represent different trait the human shows. there are 7. cyan patience, orange bravery, blue integrity, purple perseverance, green kindness, yellow justice, and red determination. you're born with a specific one, humans used to be able to do magic, but it was forgotten over time." Sans explains.

"I see." Aizawa mutters, Sans raises his hand toward Aizawa's chest. A little yellow heart pops out.

"you have a soul of justice, suiting." Sans says, Aizawa had seen his soul before, but he'd only seen it when Sans was using blue magic on it. t was, in a way, memorizing. Seeing all that he was right in front of him. The yellow heart sunk back into his chest.

"What about your soul?" Aizawa asks.

"my soul is a monster soul." Sans pulls a white upside-down heart from his chest. His heart had scratches and gashes covering most of its surface. "the gashes aren't normal, but the rest is, I'm sure you can guess why." Sans says, Aizawa looks closely at the heart.

"Is the ooze normal?" Aizawa asks.

A/N:

Ello everyone! Hope you enjoyed the chapter!   have been doing lots of cliffhangers recently, and I have no idea why. Maybe I'm evil, who knows? Anyway, question of the chapter. What soul type would you assign to any of the characters?

Boi!
