One last time

"that's about all of it." I say, Nedzu sits across from me, seeming deep in thought.

"I see..." He mutters, I honestly didn't know if I wanted to tell Nedzu in the first place, but Aizawa gave a few good reasons. This would be hard to pull off without question, and with Nedzu backing us, it would be a lot easier. "322 people." He pauses. "We'll have to construct buildings for them to stay in for an adjustment period."

"when i go back, if it works, there will be a select group i'll be able to tell what's actually happening. it won't work without them." I explain. "you know what my plan is. do you think there are any parts i should change?"

"It's very well thought out, I guess your time in the hospital was enough to sort it out. One hole is a question of if the ability Frisk mentioned actually exists. We'll have to send you in to question them with detective Tsukauchi, his Quirk will be highly useful." Nedzu says, "We'll likely also have to tell Tsukauchi the situation or at least part of it. If we can get the police to back us, this will be less troublesome in the future."

"You ready?" Tsukauchi asks as he glances at the one-way glass.

"yeah," I answer, he nods.

"bring them in." I say through the speaker, the door to the dimly lit interrogation room opens. Two people walk in, a police officer with a cat head, Sansa Tamakawa and the other a familiar killer. Frisk already had a pair of Quirk suppressing cuffs on, but they were locked onto the table anyway. Tamakawa sat next to Tsukauchi, both looking dead in Frisk's cold eyes. I could almost feel their red piercing eyes burning into me.
I glanced at the cameras; Frisk had a bored look on their face.

"What am I here for? I've already been arrested." Frisk spits.

"We're just here to ask a few questions about your fight with Karmic." Tsukauchi leads, Frisk scoffs with a smirk.

"And what makes you think I'll tell you anything?" Frisk rolls their eyes.

"If you comply, it could help shorten your sentence," Tamakawa says, Frisk glares at him suspiciously.

"Fine, what do you want to know?" Frisk sighs, with this situation, it's a chance not only to gather more information on Frisk but me too, but that wasn't a problem anymore.
Tsukauchi and I made a rough script earlier, to push questions we already knew the answer to. We couldn't just jump to the main questions, we needed to be patient for this to work.
The questions went on, Tsukauchi and Tamakawa kept themselves controlled and calm with practised ease. Tsukauchi gave me little hints indicating truths or lies, a tap of his fingers, a bite of his lip, a glance around the room, a nod. All hints that'd we'd prepared earlier for me to note.

"You said something to Karmic, taking him back to your world and resetting it. Can you actually take him back?" Tsukauchi asks, Frisk's smirk tightens slightly.

"No, it was an attempt to get him to give me my DT. He wasn't as desperate as I thought." Frisk smirks.

*Tap, tap*

...

I stare.

Eye sockets wide.

I can go home.

After a briefing with the staff of UA, most were aware of my situation, of course, some things were kept under wraps, but they had a basic knowledge of what would be happening and why.
Of course, there were lots of questions, a large handful of them aimed at me. There are many things that could go wrong, but we've been lucky so far.

"Of course, there are lots of unknown variables, but we do not have a way to test, so the dangers are something we have to work with." Nedzu had said, I knew this.

This could go wrong in so many ways.

Too many ways.

But it was a sacrifice I was willing to make.

A sacrifice I had to make.

So, when we found out how to get there, I didn't hesitate.

The process took weeks to figure out, I had to channel the Determination in my soul and push it out, it created a portal. A red, burning, portal.
The snow, I could see the snow.

"You did it." Aizawa mutters, surprise evident.

"home." I mutter, astonished. I glance back at Aizawa, nodding. We'd already planned this, if I got it to work, I wouldn't wait. So, I didn't. I step through, the snow engulfing my feet, the cool familiar breeze brushing against my bone.
A deep breath of the chilly air, the frosty taste.

I was home.

I walk through the trees, the snow crunching beneath my feet as I make my way through the familiar terrane. The wind was more violent than usual, showing that we were still in a genocide timeline. The question was, did time pause or carry on?
As I edge closer to snowdin, I can see a small group of people walking around, I didn't want their attention. Right now, I had one job, I needed to figure out how to reset.

The thought sounded disgusting in my mind. Me, resetting.

The word had burned a hole in my subconscious, reset.

But this was different.

I wasn't going to abuse my power.

I was going to use it once.

The final reset.

The yellow button appeared in front of me, the glowing word made my soul squirm in my chest. I didn't know what was going to happen. Would I remember? Would it give Frisk their DT back? Would it not work?
I shake the thoughts away, no point waiting. We're here, this is now. I wave it away, taking a shortcut to my bedroom.
If this works how I hope it works, then this is where I need to be. I smiled at the familiarity, everything was where it was supposed to be. The trash tornado was still wiring, my ball of rugs, I almost cried at the sight of my sock collection.

I reach my hand out, the button appears just below the tips of my fingers. It emits a warmth, humming quietly as the yellow light grows and fades. I take a deep breath.

One last time.

My hand presses against the button, an odd warmth runs up my arm, through my body, through my soul. The world darkens, everything fades.

Nothing exists.

Then it does.
