first day at U.A

Sans pov

As I open my eyes and sit up, I feel as though I'm forgetting something...then the realization hits me.

"It's the first day at U.A, I'm gonna be late!!" I say, basically falling out of my bed and hurrying to get ready.

-----------------------------------------------------------
7 minutes later
-----------------------------------------------------------
Swiftly grabbing my bag off the countertop, I put it on my back and shortcut to the U.A.. I begin to walk when I see a familiar scruffy mess of green hair, I jog up beside him.

"hey, midoriya, i see you got in."  I say, Midoriya jumps a little but smiles when he notices it's just me.

"Oh uh, yeah. It's good to see you, Sans, what class are you in?" He asks.

"i'm in 1a, how bout you?" I question as we continue towards the school

"Me too," Midoriya says with a hopeful smile.

"we should be getting to class otherwise, we might be late. follow me, i know a shortcut." I say, Midoriya follows me behind a tree, I grab his wrist and shortcut to the front of our class. Midoriya looks a bit dizzy, but then he snaps out of it and looks at the 1A door.

"Why is the door so big?" He looks confused.

"no idea, but we should probably head in." I say.

"Y-yeah, ok." He says, then opens the door. We walk in, and I take my seat, but Midoriya is stopped at the door by a boy with blue-ish hair and a girl with brown hair. They talk for a little bit but then-

"Go somewhere else if you want to play at being friends." Everyone turns their attention to the door, wait, i know that voice, is Aizawa, our teacher? "This is the hero course." Everyone in the class except me looks stunned. "Okay, it took eight seconds before you were quiet, time is limited. You kids are not rational enough." Everyone stares at him silently, "I am your homeroom teacher Shota Aizawa, nice to meet you." 'Silence' "It's kind of sudden but put this on and go out onto the field." He holds out a blue sports uniform and places them on his desk. I shortcut to the front then to the change room. I quickly change and shortcut out to the field, unsurprisingly, I'm the first one ready, so I take the time to talk to Aizawa.

"why didn't you tell me you were my homeroom teacher?" I say with a lazy smile

"Eh, it was a surprise." He says, giving a tiny smile.

-----------------------------------------------------------
After everyone's on the field
-----------------------------------------------------------

"A Quirk assessment test?!" Everyone says together.

"What about the entrance ceremony? The orientation?" The girl with brown hair asks.

"If you're going to become a hero, you don't have time for such leisurely events," Aizawa replies. "U.A's selling point is how unrestricted its school traditions are, that's also how the teachers run their classes. You kids have been doing these ever since junior high, too, right? Physical fitness test where you weren't allowed to use your quirks. The country still uses averages taken from results from students not using their Quirks, it's not rational. Well, the ministry of education is procrastinating...Bakugo, you finished at the top of the practical exam, right?" The class looked at the blond haired boy, his hair, along with the glare on his face, made him look like an angry pomeranian. "In junior high, what was your best result for the softball throw?" Aizawa questioned.
"67 meters." Bakugo replied

"Then try doing it with your Quirk." Aizawa says handing Bakugo the ball.  Bakugo walks to the throwing area and stands inside the circle. "You can do whatever you want as long as you stay inside the circle." Aizawa explains. "Hurry up, give it all you've got."

"Then well..." Bakugo says, stretching his arms. As he's about to let go of the ball, an explosion erupts from his hand as he yells, "DIE!!!" The ball goes flying through the air.

"Knowing your own maximum first...that's the most rational way to form the foundation of a hero." Aizawa says, turning to use, showing Bakugo's score of  705.2m. Jez, that throw must have had some real firepower behind it. The entire class gasps in surprise.

"This looks like fun!" a girl with pink hair says.

"It looks like fun, huh? You have three years to become a hero. Will you have an attitude like that the whole time? All right, whoever comes in last place in all eight tests will be judged to have no potential and will be punished with expulsion." Aizawa says with an evil smile on his face.

"Huh?!" The whole class yelled together.

"We're free to what we want about the circumstances of our students. Welcome to U.A's hero course." Aizawa says with a weird smile plastered on his face.

"Last place will be expelled?! But it's the first day of school?! No, even if it wasn't the first day of school, this is too unfair!" The brown haired girl protests.

"Natural disasters, big accidents and selfish villains. Calamities, whose time or place can't be predicted. Japan is covered in unfairness. Heroes are the ones who reverse those situations. If you wanted to go talk with your friends at Mickey D's after school, too bad. For the next three years, U.A will do all it can to give you one hardship after another. Go beyond, Plus Ultra. Overcome it with all you've got...." Everyone looks so determined"Alright, demonstrations over, the real thing starts next."

~test 1. 50 meter dash~

I'm lined up at the starting line next to the brown haired girl and a boy with a tail.
"On your mark... Get set...*bang*" the second the gunshot, I shortcut to the end of the track "0.05 seconds!" Everyone stares at me in amazement.

~test 2. Grip test~
I am trying, but I only get average since I can't really use my Quirk in this situation.

~test 3. Standing long jump~
I Shortcut a few meters past the jump area.

~test 4. Repeated side steps~
I Shortcut side to side as fast as I can.

~ test 5. Ball through~
It's my turn, Midoriya got an impressive score of 705.3m. I throw the ball, just before it comes off my fingertip, I shortcut it quite far away and high in the sky, as it falls, I try to estimate how far away it is, I say roughly 809 meters. "809.3m impressive," Aizawa says, monotoned.

~ test 6. Long distance run~
I Shortcut to the end again
"0.07 seconds".

~ test 7.sit ups~
I got a score just a little above average.

~test 8. Toe touches~
I got an average again

Finally, it was the end, now time to see what I placed. Aizawa presses a button on a remote that brings up the scores. I look through and see I came 2nd. Honestly, I'm surprised. I keep looking down the list and see Midoriya is in last place, I walk over to him. He's looking at the ground, I could see he was on the verge of crying.

"By the way, I was lying about the expulsion. It was a rational deception to draw out upper limits of your Quirks." Aizawa says with a smile

"What?!" Everyone yelled, Midoriya looked like he was about to faint.

"With that, we're done here. There are handouts with the curriculum and such in the classroom, so when you get back, look over them," Aizawa said, walking away. "Midoriya--, have the old lady fix you in the nurse's office, tomorrow will be packed with even more rigorous tests. Prepare yourself."

-----------------------------------------------------------
After class
-----------------------------------------------------------

After class, I caught up with Midoriya, as we walked, someone put their hand on Midoriya's shoulder, I turned to see the blue haired kid.

"Iida?!" Midoriya says, so that's his name.

"Is your finger healed?" He asks.

"Yeah, thanks to Recovery Girl". We continue walking with Iida.

"I was really taken in by Mr Aizawa. I even though this is the best of the best and such. I didn't think a teacher would encourage us with a lie."

"i mean, it worked, didn't it? everyone pushed themselves so they could do their best." I shrug.

"Hey, you three! Going to the station? Wait for me!" Said the brown haired girl.

"Uraraka?!" Midoriya said in surprise.

"You're the infinity girl," Iida said.

"I'm Ochaco Uraraka, umm you're Tenya Iida, you're Sans Gaster, and you're Deku Midoriya, right? She said.

"Deku?!" Midoriya said, surprised.

"Huh, but during the fitness test, the boy named Bakugo said---Deku, you bastard!---right?" Uraraka asked, looking confused.

"Uh..my real name is Izuku, but D-Deku is what Kacchan calls me to make fun of me..." Midoriya explains.

"An insult?" Iida questions.

"honestly, what I expected," I mutter, it goes unnoticed.

"Oh, is that right? Sorry! But 'Deku' sounds like the Japanese word for 'you can do it', so I kinda like it."

"I'm Deku!" He says, looking flustered

"Midoriya, you're excepting it too easily! Wasn't it an insult?" Iida says.

"it's a good thing, changing an insult to a positive thing." I say, I mean, sometimes it's hard to change a name into something good when it's something like smiley trash bag, but I can't complain...

"It's like a Copernican Revolution..." Midoriya looks like a tomato right now it's hilarious.

"Co-pe?" Uraraka says, confused.
