A few hours later,The doctors were operating on me in the ICU and the head doctor shortly came out and gave the shocking news..

Doctor Rey:Mace..London's..

Mace:What?..What is it..

Damien:What?..Is El ok?..

Jenila:How is London doing doctor?..

There was a dead silence in the room as everyone patiently waited for the doctor to speak..

Doctor Rey:London has suffered a deep skull injury..Her skull got cracked open on the side badly and it affected her prefrontal cortex..

Mace almost collapsed hearing the news while Jenila held her stomach and sobbed and Damien just stood there shocked..Garry shortly arrived after discussing with some press outside and he immediately noticed everyone's shocked reaction and tears rolled down his face feeling a cold fear all over his body..

Garry:Wait..Mace..Damien..Is London ok?..

Mace and Damien remained silent and unresponsive still reeling in shock at the news and then Garry slowly turned to Jenila while shaking a bit and as he asked her the question she rushed to him and hugged him tight sobbing hard..

Garry hugged her back and requested her to calm down and take a deep breath and she did so hesitantly..

Then Garry asked the doctor to explain what happened to me..

Doctor Rey:She suffered a deep injury to her prefrontal cortex and right now..she's..

Garry:She's..she's what?..

Garry's voice trembled a bit as he asked the question and Doctor Rey swallowed hard and then spoke..

Doctor Rey:She's half dead..

Mace fell to the ground and Damien rushed to help him up in tears and requested him to steady himself for me..Mace started hyperventilating and he was taken to a nurse and Damien accompanied him..

Jenila continued to sob till her eyes were bright red like fresh blood and she started shaking uncontrollably due to shock and Garry decided to stay and comfort her till she fell asleep..

In that silent and tense moment,Armando arrived and asked to see how I was doing but Doctor Rey said that the operation wasn't completed yet and that until it's done no one can enter the ICU..

Damien on the other hand,wanted to call aunt paloma but hesitated because the shock would be too much for her to handle so he got rid of the thought and stayed with Mace..

Garry slowly stood up and walked towards Armando with an angry and emotional look on his face..

Garry:First Mr James's accident..Now London's..And yet you show no true compassion for either of them..

Armando looked at Garry with a pissed expression..

Garry:My sister who I know is not guilty got arrested and you didn't ponder on her case because you want to look good in the eyes of those who look up to you huh..You suprised me Mr De la cruz really..all this time I only thought you were arrogant..but you turned out to be heartless as well..

Armando:Garry!..

Armando raised his voice at Garry and unknowingly to Armando the press had heard Garry's statement and started questioning Armando about why he allowed his employees get harmed and then pretend to care when he's in a tight spot..

And indeed he is in a tight spot..For years Armando never feared being exposed for who he truly is simply because there was no one capable enough to do it..and karma finally decided to turn the tables on him..

Armando suddenly turned pale as the press fired harsh questions at him and criticized him strongly about being a corrupt businessman and due to the humiliation he left in nervous sweat..

Later on,Mace regained consciousness and coincidentally I felt his heartbeat and I opened my eyes abruptly while breathing in from my mouth heavily with my eyes wide open..

The machine started beeping more and it caught Doctor Rey's attention and Jenila stood up instantly feeling overjoyed by the miracle..

Doctor Rey rushed back into the ICU and saw that the rest of the doctors were stunned at the miracle and then he gave me an injection to steady my breathing and heartbeat and I instantly felt calm..

Jenila rushed to where Mace and Damien were and told them the good news that I survived and was conscious and they both beamed in joy thanking the heavens for my speedy recovery..

A while later,Mace could finally stand straight and asked Doctor Rey if he could see me.Doctor Rey instantly agreed seeing the extreme concern on Mace's face..

Damien,Jenila and Garry followed as Mace entered the ICU.Mace stood abruptly and stared at me with tears in his eyes..

He slowly walked towards me and kissed my forehead as I was in deep sleep..He rubbed my hair slowly with tears flowing down from his eyes..

Due to his touch,I slowly opened my eyes and stared at him and whispered his name..

Mace hugged me seeing that I was finally awake and the others joined..

Damien hugged me once more feeling happy that I was finally awake and then Mace spoke..

Mace:Mami..you scared all of us..you know that..

I smiled faintly as I still tried to keep my eyes open..

London:I had no idea..that would happen..

Jenila:But London..what were you doing at the top of your window balcony?..

I smirked and came up with a lie..

London:I caught a bird and I wanted to free it..that's how I slipped..

Jenila sighed in relief..

Jenila:Please don't do that again London please..your life is more valuable than you think..

London:Life..

I grinned and chuckled a bit laughing at what the word life implied figuratively..

Mace:Mami..If something happened to you I won't be able to survive it..you're way too important to me..

Mace got down on his knees and kissed my hand in both his hands while staring at me with teary eyes...

Damien and Garry smiled at the both of us and Jenila cried happy tears and surprisingly seeing Mace on his knees reminded me of when my Dad proposed to my mom on their anniversary which marked the last moment of their love..and remembering that memory vividly made my blood boil and I shoved Mace away and vibrated as white liquid foam came out of my mouth..

I groaned in pain and Mace held me trying to help me to relax then Jenila rushed to call the doctor and Garry followed..Then Damien decided to press my chest up and down to resuscitate me but it didn't work..

Mace tried it as well but it didn't work and I continued to vibrate..then Doctor Rey came and I shortly lost my breath and fainted..

Blood gushed out of my nose and mouth as I laid on the bed lifeless then Doctor Rey sent for the other doctors and then requested Mace,Damien,Jenila and Garry to leave the room while they do their work..

Mace sat down devastated and confused as of why I had reacted that way and Damien sat next to him and comforted him..

Doctor Rey came out and said that I had a seizure due to the shock of the injury and I had just slipped into a minor coma..

Mace held his forehead feeling extremely devastated and Jenila hugged Garry feeling extremely emotional..

Damien's eyes welled up with tears and he hugged Mace and surprisingly Mace hugged Damien back and they both confided in each other..
