Chapter 57 - Trouble in paradise

Charlotte's POV

I rolled my eyes and let him hug me. "So... When will you fulfill his last condition? " I asked seductively as I wrapped my arms around his neck.

He raised his eyebrow. "You want it?" He gave me a hopeful look while feeling excited.

"I promised to help you with your inheritance. I always keep my promises as I told you before." I reminded him mischievously and winked at him.

A wide grin appeared on his face. "Are you sure? I don't want you to feel obliged." He asked softly, caressing my cheek affectionately.

"I am sure. I wouldn't mind having a mini you in our house." I confessed, giving him a bright smile.

He grinned happily. "Or mini you. As beautiful as her mother." He winked at me. I nodded, smiling, and placed a chaste kiss on his lips. "Then let's start." He said, excited and scooped me up in his arms in a swift movement. I chuckled in amusement and kissed him while he carried me towards our bedroom.

Once we finished shooting the ad video, I went towards my room to change my clothes.

"Charlotte."

I stopped, turning around as someone called me. The assistant waved at me, walking towards me with a brunette woman.

"I want to introduce you to my friend. She works for a famous jewelry company in Paris." The assistant informed me.

"Hello." I gave the woman a polite smile, extending my hand towards her.

"I looked forward to meeting you. I heard a lot about you." She said, shaking my hand. "I am Lia."

"Nice to meet you. I am Charlotte." I smiled.

After chatting for a while, Lia left after giving me her number and suggested to had dinner together to discuss the details of the project which she wanted me to take part in. She seemed like a good girl. We talked about each other's lives as well. I was surprised when she told me she was Greek. What a coincidence! After I had told her that my husband was Greek too, we talked about Greece, her childhood memories there.

Once I changed my clothes, I went to the agency to see Alex. The last few days he had been grumpy because he had to use condoms when we were having sex. I stopped taking pills after we decided to have a baby, but last week I got an invitation from Victoria Secret to walk on a catwalk for their new collection next month. I was so ecstatic and excited. However, I couldn't say the same for Alexis. When he heard about it, he asked me not to accept it, saying that he didn't want hungry men gawking at his wife. Moreover, when I told him that we should postpone our plans about the baby for about more than a month, and he had to use condoms because I stopped drinking my pills, his mood totally changed.

As much as I told him that it would be my last catwalk before dropping modeling, he didn't want to understand me. I planned to launch my cosmetic brand next year and just focus on it. So walking for Victoria Secret was a golden opportunity for me. Despite the fact his attitude tempted me not to drop modeling and accept all swimwear and lingerie photoshoots and catwalks' invitations I would receive because his over jealous and over possessive attitude irritated me, it would be my last catwalk.

Once I arrived at the agency, I went to my office to check my schedule with my assistant. Then I went to see my moody husband.

When I was about to reach his office, I saw Lia leaving his office, looking angry. I looked behind her, confused as she walked into the elevator.

What was she doing in Alex's office?

Do they know each other?

I frowned and approached Alex's office. I knocked on the door and walked into his office after hearing Alex's angry voice.

Alexis' POV

I was examining my paperwork which my grandpa sent me this morning when my phone rang.

"Yes?" I snapped as soon as I picked up my phone.

"Sir, you have a visitor... Thalia Antoniou." My assistant informed me.

I gulped nervously, trying to remember when Charlotte would be at the agency.

"Let her in. And don't let anyone else in." I demanded after hanging up the phone.

"Hi, Alex." Thalia gave me a seductive look, approaching me after closing the door behind her.

"What are you doing here? Wasn't it clear that I didn't want to see you again when you wanted to attend my wedding uninvited?" I reminded her firmly, trying to hold my anger as much as possible.

"Why shouldn't I attend your wedding? Don't be rude, moro mou." She commented sarcastically.

"Don't call me moro mou." I demanded, irritated.

"Why? Are you afraid of your model girlfriend?" She mocked, smirking.

I gritted my teeth in annoyance. "I don't want to see you. That is all. And Charlotte is my wife, not my girlfriend." I stated firmly as I stood up.

"When will you introduce us to each other?" She asked, giving me a wicked smile.

"Why should I?" I asked in a sardonic tone.

"I would like to meet the woman who you are trying to replace me with." Thalia replied arrogantly.

I raised my eyebrow and burst out laughing. "Charlotte isn't a replacement; she is the love of my life and the woman who I want to spend the rest of my life with." I stated firmly.

"Did you really manage to forget me?" She asked provocatively, approaching me.

"Yes, a long time ago. Now leave! I have more important things to do than chatting with you." I commented dryly.

She smirked, leaning towards me as she placed her hands on my chest. When she wanted to kiss me, I pushed her back roughly, grabbing her arms.

"What the fuck are you doing?" I snapped angrily.

She smirked slyly. "See you later, moro mou." She winked at me and left, closing the door behind her.

"Fuck!" I exclaimed in frustration and kicked a chair beside my desk.

A few minutes later, someone knocked at the door.

"Come in!" I snapped angrily.

The door opened and Charlotte walked in. I breathed deeply, trying to calm down, and ran my hand through my hair nervously.

"What was Lia doing here?" She asked, confused.

"Lia?" I frowned, puzzled. "How do you know her?" I asked, worried.

"I met her at the photoshoot today. She wants me to pose for the campaign of the company where she works." She replied and gave me a puzzled look.

"Hell no! Stay away from her." I demanded authoritatively, clenching my fist.

Charlotte raised her eyebrow. "How do you know her? Did you meet in Greece? She told me she is Greek." She asked, puzzled.

"She is my ex-fiancée. Thalia." I replied and gritted my teeth, resting my hands on my hips.

How dare Thalia meet my wife!

"What?!" Charlotte exclaimed in shock. "This bitch! She pretended that she didn't know me." My wife commented, frustrated. "How stupid of me to think she was a good girl!" She added, clenching her fist.

"She is anything, but a good girl." I stated sarcastically and shook my head.

"What does she want from us?" Charlotte asked, annoyed, looking me in the eyes. I averted my gaze, rubbing the back of my neck. "Did you just see her here? Or?"

I heaved a deep sigh. "No... She started bothering me a few months ago. When we went to Athens for my cousin's wedding. Then... she wanted to sneak into our wedding venue." I confessed honestly.

"So you have been seeing your ex occasionally, but you didn't tell me anything about it." She said angrily.

"Don't talk like I meet up with her purposely." I commented, annoyed. "As much as I told her to stay away from us, she didn't listen to me." I added and heaved a loud sigh.

"Why didn't you tell me anything?... Oh my... Because of her, you put an army of security around our wedding venue..." She commented, flabbergasted.

I nodded. "I didn't want anyone to ruin our wedding day." I admitted it sincerely.

She sighed, approaching me, and cupped my cheeks. "Please don't hide anything from me anymore." I nodded, resting my hands on her sides. She smiled and placed a quick kiss on my lips. "What will you do now? What does she want from you?" She asked, resting her hands on my chest.

I bit my lower lip, running my hand through my hair. She sighed, folding her arms over her chest, looking irritated.

"Of course! She wants you!" She commented, rolling her eyes.

"It isn't important what she thinks. You are the only woman who I want in my life." I stated honestly, cupping her chin, looking her in the eyes. She smiled at me affectionately and kissed my lips.

I was pacing back and forth, thinking how I could get rid of Thalia while waiting for Charlotte to come downstairs. We were going to have dinner at the restaurant.

I lifted my head and looked towards the stairs as someone cleared her throat.

"How do I look? I bought this dress today." She asked, giving me her mesmerizing smile.

"Stunning! And your dress is so beautiful. I look forward to taking it off with my own hands." I replied huskily and bit my lower lip seductively.

She grinned, amused and walked towards me slowly. "You have to learn to be patient, my lovely hubby." She commented playfully and winked at me.

"Maybe yes, maybe no." I smirked devilishly and extended my hand towards her. She smiled, amused and held my hand.
