Charlotte's POV

"Don't ruin my happiness with your presumptions." I frowned, annoyed.

"I don't. I am just enlightening you." He said cockily.

I rolled my eyes and heaved a loud sigh without managing to stop myself from thinking what Alexis told me.

"Did he ask you to get back together with him? No. Am I right?" He asked, looking into my eyes. I bit my lower lip and nodded. He gave me a self-satisfied smirk. "When a man loves you, he will do everything to be with you and show his love to you. So you will not doubt his feelings for a second, thinking if he has feelings towards you or not." He winked at me.

I looked at him without saying anything and ruffled my hair, lost in my thoughts.

"You think you two will get back if you let him stay with you whenever he wants. No, you are wrong, koukla mou." He leaned towards me and added sarcastically. "This way, you only will get a few nights with him, nothing more."

"How dare you!" I exclaimed, frustrated and gave him a dirty look.

"But I can help you." He commented arrogantly and leaned against the back of his chair, giving me a devilish look.

I raised my eyebrow, intrigued. "How?"

"Be my fake girlfriend." He suggested firmly.

I burst out laughing. "You are funny." I commented between laughs. Meanwhile, he was staring at me with a serious expression. "You weren't joking?!" I asked, dumbfounded.

"No. I am super serious." He stated nonchalantly.

"No. Never. Are you crazy?" I stood up and started pacing back and forth, shaking my head in disbelief.

Alexis sighed, standing up, and grabbed my arm, stopping me. "Let me explain."

I heaved a loud sigh and nodded, folding my arms over my chest. "I am all ears." I said sarcastically. He gave me a dirty look before starting to explain.

"So we will help each other. As a result, you will get your ex back, and I will get my inheritance. It will be a win-win situation." He stated firmly.

"No." I refused, determined. He furrowed his eyebrows, looking surprised. "I don't need to play a game to be with Nathan." I added confidently and left the conference room without letting him say anything.

I was sipping my red wine while thinking about what Alexis told me today. I heaved a loud sigh, ruffling my hair, and grabbed my phone. I decided to call Nathan because I had to know if he changed his mind about our breakup or not.

"Hey! How are you?" I asked cheerfully as soon as I heard Nathan's voice.

"Fine. You?"

"Good. Would you like to hang out together tonight?" I asked hopefully and bit my lower lip, waiting for his answer nervously.

He breathed deeply and replied. "I am tired, Lottie. Besides, my schedule for tomorrow is hectic. So I want to rest tonight."

"I wanted to cheer you up. I am worried about you." I commented sadly.

"I am sorry, Lottie. I shouldn't have come to you and made you worry. Especially after saying to you that I wanted to break up." He said apologetically.

I pursed my lips together as my heart flooded with sadness. Alexis was right...

I cleared my throat and replied nonchalantly, trying to control my voice. "Fine. Good night!"

"Good night, Lottie."

I threw my phone onto the couch angrily and let my tears run down.

I was signing the documents absently in my office while Alexis was waiting for me to finish it.

As soon as my assistant left my office, he asked curiously, looking into my eyes. "Have you heard from Nathan?"

I pursed my lips together and ruffled my hair, leaning back against the seat. "You can be happy; you were right about Nathan. I am such a fool." I replied dryly and tried to hold my tears back.

He sighed and said firmly. "You aren't a fool, Charlotte. The real fool is him." I looked at him surprised. He gave me a sympathetic look and continued. "Let's give him a lesson. He doesn't care because you are always there for him. Make him think that he can lose you. So he will understand your worth. If you accept my proposal, both of us will win." He gave me a hopeful look.

I bit my lower lip, thinking while he was waiting for my answer patiently. I breathed deeply and nodded. "Fine. I am in." I stated, determined.

Alexis gave me a wide grin and extended his hand towards me to shake my hand.

"Why me? Why didn't you ask anyone else? I am sure there are plenty of women ready to be your girlfriend. Real or fake, it doesn't matter." I asked, intrigued.

"Didn't you tell me one time that you are the only woman who can bear me for a long time?!" He chuckled.

I grinned as I remembered our fight which he was talking about. It was a month ago. As always, this man managed to get me mad.

"Yes. I have a lot of patience." I said mockingly.

He grinned in amusement. "So? Will you be my girlfriend? By the way, I don't think you can find a better boyfriend than me." He said arrogantly and winked at me.

I rolled my eyes and replied smugly. "Yes, I can find a better one than you easily."

"Ouch!" He exclaimed, resting his hands on his heart, and gave me a mischievous smile. "So will you be my girlfriend?" He asked hopefully.

"Yes, I will." I said firmly. He gave me a charming smile. "By the way, a fake girlfriend, not a girlfriend." I corrected.

"Great!" He exclaimed happily.

"But I have conditions." I stated in an authoritative tone.

"I accept them." He agreed instantly.

"Are you sure? You haven't even heard what I would want." I commented, puzzled.

"I am sure you won't ask anything ridiculous from me. So I accept." He said confidently.

I raised my eyebrow. "So you are even ready to sell your shares to me?" I gave him a devilish look.

He chuckled. "You can't ask such a big thing from me, koukla mou." He gave me an arrogant look.

"Why not?" I frowned, rubbing my chin.

"Because like you will help me with my problem, I will help you with your problem as well. So you can't ask me to sell my shares to you in return for our deal." He stated cockily and gave me a self-satisfied smirk.

I gritted my teeth, giving him a dirty look, and rolled my eyes. "Fine. But I have other conditions."

"I am sure." He teased me. "By the way, I have conditions too." He added, giving me a devilish look.

"What are your conditions?" I asked warily, raising my eyebrow.

"Ladies first." He said slyly.

"We will not get intimate or share a bed together. You can't kiss me either." I stated firmly, folding my arms over my chest.

He frowned. "Who will believe us if I don't kiss my girlfriend?"

"Fine. You can just kiss me and touch me when there are others beside us, but when we are alone, you can't do it." I said in an authoritative tone.

"Okay." He mumbled.

"And you can't go to see Rebecca while our agreement is valid. I don't want people to talk behind my back, saying my boyfriend cheats on me." I warned him firmly.

Alexis grinned, amused. "Fine. Do you have more conditions?"

"No."

"Great! Now my condition. You can't get close to Nathan and do anything which can make me look like a fool." He stated in a bossy tone.

"But I try to win him back. How can I stay away from him?" I furrowed my eyes in confusion.

"Yes, but you will be patient, keeping your distance, and make him put a lot of effort in trying to get you back." He stated firmly.

"Fine." I sighed.

After looking at myself in the mirror, I grabbed my clutch and left my penthouse. Alexis and I were having dinner this evening. Today we were going to announce our relationship. Alexis had already handled the paparazzi part. When we were at the restaurant, they would receive anonymous information that Alexis and I started having a relationship and we were having dinner together. Moreover, I especially chose that restaurant because I found out that Nathan would have a dinner meeting there this evening.

When we arrived at our destination, Alexis held my hand and led me towards the entrance. As soon as we walked in, almost all the eyes were on us.

I searched for Nathan discreetly while holding Alexis's hand. I found him sitting next to the window with some man while staring at me in shock.

"Don't forget what I told you." Alexis warned me as he brought our entwined hands towards his lips and placed a soft kiss on top of my hand.

I gave him a bright smile, leaning towards him, and stated softly. "Don't worry, love."
