Chapter 54 - Loving him

Charlotte's POV

His jaw clenched as soon as I confessed. "Great! Now there is another fucking bastard!" He muttered between his gritted teeth. "So I was entertaining you till you get together with your new lover."

I gave him a dirty look. "Yes, he is a bastard, but love is blind." I commented nonchalantly, shrugging my shoulders as I decided to torture him because he thought I could act like that. Sometimes Alexis made me want to strangle him, but what I could do; I love this annoying jerk.

He stood up angrily and threw his napkin onto the table. "I am tired. Sweet dreams!" He said dryly without looking at me.

"Won't you ask me who the man I am in love with is?" I asked, raising my eyebrow as I stood up and approached him when he wanted to go upstairs.

"No, it is none of my business. As long as it doesn't affect our agreement, you are allowed to love who you want." He replied icily.

I sighed, shaking my head. "You know he is a real jerk who often makes me strangle him, but I love that damn blue-eyed Greek." I commented and gave him a mischievous grin.

Alexis narrowed his eyebrows in confusion. "What?"

"I am in love with you, Alex, and yes, you called yourself a bastard a few minutes ago." I stated, amused and winked at him playfully.

After getting rid of his surprise, Alex wrapped his arms around my waist, pulling me into his chest as a wide grin appeared on his face and he spun me around happily. I laughed, squeezing his shoulders tightly.

"I love you, koukla mou." He gave me a wide smile, cupping my cheeks as he put me down carefully.

"I love you too, agapi mou." I winked at him. He grinned happily and placed a chaste kiss on my lips before dragging me with him to our bedroom.

I was looking at my engagement ring while smiling ear-to-ear in my office. Alex surprised me and asked me to marry him two days ago. He told me that he wouldn't ask me to marry him with another ring because when he gave me my engagement ring, deep down in his heart he knew I was the one for him, and he wished this ring would always stay on my finger despite the fact it started fake.

Alexis admitted that he wouldn't have been able to get me out off his head since he laid his eyes on me for the first time in Mykonos. Moreover, he confessed that the main reason why he bought the agency was me. I was surprised when I heard about it.

When I asked why he was against being a co-partner with me then, Alex replied that even if it was me, he never wanted any co-partners in business because he didn't like when his decisions were questioned or objected to. Especially 50/50 business partnerships. Because they often caused problems between partners.

Alexis revealed that when we started dating after our agreement, he enjoyed spending time with me, and he didn't want this agreement to end.

I took a sip from my coffee and went to see my fiancé. When I approached his door, it was ajar, and his secretary wasn't in her place. I frowned as I heard a woman's voice coming inside the room. It looked familiar, but I couldn't remember who she was.

When I pushed the door open and walked in, I saw a brunette wrapping her arms around Alex's neck. I gritted my teeth in irritation and gave them a death glare. Alex gulped nervously and pushed the woman away by grabbing her arms.

"Charlotte..." He mumbled, rubbing the back of his neck anxiously as he approached me.

"Won't you introduce us to each other, Alex?" The woman asked wickedly, walking towards us.

"There is no need. We finished talking, you may leave now." Alexis told the brunette firmly.

"I don't think so. And don't be impolite, Alex." The woman gave him a sly smirk. Then she turned her gaze from my nervous fiancé to me. "I am Rebecca. Nice to meet you." She introduced herself, giving me a devilish look.

I clenched my fist as soon as she told me who she was.

"Charlotte Wright. Alex's fiancée." I said arrogantly as I held Alex's hand and leaned against him, giving him a warm smile. Alex smiled at me back, squeezing my hand.

"Actually, we know each other. We talked on the phone when you called Alex. I picked up his phone because he was taking a shower." She reminded, giving me a cunning smirk.

"Reb..."

"I don't remember." I said nonchalantly, cutting off Alex while trying to hold myself from killing this bitch. Meanwhile, I dug my nails into Alex's palm in anger. He pursed his lips together in pain and tried to pull his hand away, but I didn't release it. "Now if you don't mind, my fiancé and I have something important to talk about. You know he is a busy man; he doesn't have a lot of time to spend with his old conquest who entertained him before he found true love." I added, giving her a cocky look, and caressed Alex's arm without releasing his hand.

Her expression hardened instantly, and she shot daggers at us. Meanwhile, Alex pursed his lips together, trying to hold his smile, and gave me an amused look.

"We won't keep you anymore. Goodbye." I stated firmly and gestured to the door, giving her a haughty smile.

"We will talk later." She told Alex between gritted teeth and stormed out, slamming the door behind her.

I released Alex's hand instantly and folded my arms over my chest.

"Char..."

"Do you still see this woman?" I asked angrily, cutting him off.

"No, of course not." He replied, panicked and cupped my cheeks.

"Don't touch me." I demanded as I pulled back.

He looked at me, offended. "Charlotte, I would never cheat on you. I love you." He stated firmly, looking me in the eyes.

"Then what was your mistress doing here?" I asked bitterly.

He heaved a loud sigh. "She saw the news about us in the magazine and came here to ask for an explanation as to why we are getting married next month." He replied, running his hand through his hair.

"So she can still ask for explanations from you?! Very well!" I commented sarcastically, rolling my eyes.

"Charlotte! Enough! I haven't met up with her. As you know I told her we wouldn't see each other till my agreement with you was valid. Then when we got real, I didn't inform her. So she came here to ask for an explanation, thinking that we would get together after I got my inheritance." Alex stated, annoyed. "And today I told her that it won't happen because I really love you, and we are getting married for real."

"It didn't look like she accepted."

"I don't care. But..." He breathed deeply and continued. "She threatened me that she would tell my grandpa that we tried to fool him because we weren't dating. It was a lie." Alex informed me.

"Could she?" I asked, raising my eyebrow. He nodded. "What are we going to do now?" I asked nervously.

"Nothing. I warned her that if she tells anyone about this, I will make her regret it. However, if she tells them about it, we will deny it." Alex stated firmly. I nodded, sighing. "Now can I hug my fiancée?" He asked, giving me a hopeful look. I smiled, amused and nodded. He grinned happily and hugged me tightly. "I love you, koukla mou. You are my only one."

"I love you too, Alex." I said and placed a tender kiss on his lips. When I wanted to pull back, he tightened his grip around my waist, deepening the kiss and pulled me towards the couch, moving his hand down to my derrière.

Today I and Alex were getting married at Markos' hotel in Mykonos. Alexis suggested this place because he saw me for the first time here. I accepted it gladly; it was so romantic. The day after tomorrow we were going to Bali for our honeymoon.

When Alex saw me in my wedding gown for the first time while I was walking down the aisle with my father, he looked so emotional, and he was barely holding himself from crying.

For our first dance, we chose the song which we danced for the first time at the gala.

"Where is your hubby?" Sienna asked cheerfully as she approached me, holding a glass of champagne in her hand.

"I don't know. I was looking for him, but he is nowhere." I replied and looked around, still trying to find him.

"Don't worry. No one could kidnap your husband. There are dozens of securities everywhere." Sienna commented, gesturing to the bodyguards in the place.

"Alex hired them because of the paparazzi. He doesn't want them to take photos of the wedding or disturb the guests." I explained.

"He doesn't want the world to see his bride. Your hubby is slightly paranoid about it. Huh? Even when Kate and William got married, there weren't many securities." She commented mischievously and winked at me.
