Chapter 48

"I can't believe you fell again!" Louis laughs loudly when Harry is sitting on the ice, trying his best to get up again.

"Instead of laughing with me, help me." He pouts.

Louis chuckles and his heart warms from the cuteness of the boy. He gives his hand, helping him up.

"Okay, now Hazza. Try it again. There is literally a little child that manages to skate with one of those pinguin holders, babe. You should be able to do it as well."

Harry grabs the holder again and tries to skate but every time he wants to move, the holder in a shape of a pinguin goes to the front and Harry slides to the back. And there he is lying on the cold ice again.

"I really don't get why people like this shit. It hurts and I'm freezing!" the curly lad complains.

"If you can actually skate it's nice, Hazza." Maybe we should put this aside." Louis says pointing at the holder. "Grab my hands, I will lead you."

"Should I trust you? You have been laughing in my face for the past thirty minutes Tomlinson." Harry jokes but still laying his hands into Louis'.

"I don't think you have another option. Now follow my lead." Louis is skating backwards, carefully leading Harry on the ice and never letting go of his hands. Louis gives some explanation about how Harry should keep his feet and what he has to do when he wants to stop or turn.

"This is actually fun." Harry admits. "It really is."

"You are doing great. You are a quick learner. I thought you were a desperate case when I saw you with that pinguin but just seems that you only need me." Louis winks, making Harry blush.

"Can I try by myself?" Harry asks.

Sad to let go of Harry's hands, Louis nods. "Sure, Hazza. Just take care."

Harry lets go of Louis and carefully starts to skate.

"Aaaaah! Lou look at me!" Harry smiles proudly.

"You are doing great! Don't go too fast though, Haz. This is your first time skating!"

"No worries, Lou. I'm a natural. Look, I can even turn around! Do you think I can turn around on one leg like those professional ones?" Harry already lifts one leg.

"Haz if I were you I shouldn't..."

Louis doesn't get to finish his sentence. He is interrupted by a scream in pain. Harry is crying, holding onto his ankle as he is sitting on the ice.

"Hazza!" Louis kneels down and it doesn't take long for a crowd to gather around them.

"I can't get up, Lou. It hurts." Harry sobs.

"Take my hand, Haz. I'm going to try to lift you up, okay?"

"Hey, need any help?" A man from around 45 who was skating with his wife and children comes towards the pair.

"Yes, please. It's hard to lift him up alone on the ice."

The man nods, lifting Harry up on the left and Louis on the right. Harry screams out in pain.

"Don't worry, kiddo. I'll carry you off the rank." The man carries Harry and Louis follows behind. He is really thankful that the man is helping him because honestly he wouldn't have been able himself to carry Harry while being on skates.

"Thank you so much for your help, sir." Louis says to the man when Harry is put on a chair.

"You are welcome. My wife already called an ambulance for you guys. Take care of your boyfriend."

"I will." Louis says, not even bothering to correct the man.

"Louis focusses on Harry again. He already took off his skates but taking of Harry's skate on his painful foot is a challenge.

"Baby I am going to hurt you but we can't go to the hospital with skates on. I'm counting to three and I'm taking it off, okay?"

Harry only nods, more tears filling his eyes when Louis takes of the skate.

"Sh, it's okay. I'm here. You'll be fine." Louis strokes Harry's hair until the ambulance arrives, doing his best to take as much from Harry's pain away as possible.

--

Louis is sitting in the waiting room while some doctor is looking at Harry's foot. He is still pissed that he couldn't come with him.

"Louis!" Jay and Lottie storm into the hospital. "Baby, what happened?"

"Harry fell down during ice skating. He hurt his foot." Louis explains, worried about the American boy.

"That sucks." Lottie says, getting a glare from her mother.

"Hey..." a soft voice speaks. Immediately three heads turn to the boy that is now walking on crutches.

"Hazza! Omg! Are you okay? What's wrong? Can I do something for you?" Louis fires a billion questions that only make Harry smile. He loves the feeling of the other boy caring about him.

"It's just a sprained ankle, nothing bad. The cold made it feel worse than it is. I have to walk on crutches though for a while till I'm feeling better and they gave me a cream and pain killers."

A sigh of relief leaves Louis' lips. "Not broken?" he asks just to be sure.

"Just a sprained ankle, boo. Everything will be okay."

Louis carefully puts his arms around Harry.

"You made me worry, you idiot." He mumbles, tightening his grip.

"Let's go home now then. I'll go drive the car to entrance. Louis do you stay with Harry?" Louis nods and slowly both boys walk to the entrance of the building where Jay is waiting for them.

"You can go in the front, Lottie." Louis says when he opens the door for Harry.

"What? Really? That's a first time! YES!" Lottie happily jumps out of the car and moves to the front seat. Louis takes

Harry crutches and puts them in the backseat after he helped Harry carefully in the car.

"Do you want to put your foot on my lap? To put it up? Maybe I can put your cream already on it? Do you want to take your painkiller? Should I go grab a bottle of water quickly before we leave so you can take on?"

"Thank you, Lou but I'm alright. I am a bit tired though, can I maybe use your shoulder to sleep on?" Harry is hiding his blush and it only makes Louis smile harder.

"Of course. Come here." Louis grabs Harry's head and puts it down on his own shoulder. He starts to play with his hair and looks down at the boy fondly. Harry immediately closes his eyes and it doesn't take long for the curly lad to fall asleep. Atter a while Louis feels himself getting tired as well. He rests his own head against Harry and he falls asleep like this, grabbing the younger boys' hand before travelling to dreamland.

"Are they together already?" Lottie asks her mother. "Like did I miss an update?"

Jay shakes her head as she is watching the two boys from the mirror with a proud smile.

"Not yet, Lottie. Your brother needs a bit of time. It's his first time in love."
