Chapter 13

Harry and Louis are sitting next to each other on the couch, enough space for a whole football team to sit between the two of them. In front of them are Jay and James, looking at the pair. James had already informed his half sister about the incident that happened in class.

"I don't understand it, boys. What's going on between the two of you? What happened? I thought we settled everything after uno-night. Everything was going great. What happened between the two of you that this is the outcome? I'm not blaming anyone, but Louis what did you say that made Harry literally leave class?" Jay looks at her son, dark circles under her eyes from the lack of sleep. She has been worrying about Louis a lot those past two weeks. She has no clue what's happening to her boy but this is not the son she raised.

"Nothing."

"Oh, suggesting to hand in my 'pink hello kitty diary' for our project about gay rights you call nothing? Please." Harry rolls his eyes, not caring anymore that the smaller boy gets in trouble.

"Jesus, Harry it was just a joke. Learn to take some jokes. Get some sense of humour, princess."

"Louis!" James gives his nephew a warning tone.

"And so are the other insults and things you do, right? All just jokes?"

"Harry." Louis has a warning tone.

"No, you can' intimidate me anymore. What are you going to do? Bully me more? The whole school is already against me thanks to you."

"You really do enjoy seeing me punished, right? Where do you want to go with this? Having me grounded again so your sorry ass is not alone in the house?"

"How narcistic can you be thinking I want your company. You are a complete jerk and I honestly hate you. I'm happy you didn't want to be friends, I don't need to be friends with someone as narcistic as you are."

And those words sting. Louis can't believe he really drove Harry to that point where he hates him. Knowing that Harry hates him makes him feel weird and for some reason also very sad. Louis doesn't argue back, he just stares at the floor, playing with his fingernails.

"Boys, there are only two weeks that passed. You will have to spend a lot more time with each other and if you want to complete the assignment successfully, you will both have to make amends."

James is kneeling in front of the two boys.

"Look, talk to each other. You don't have to be best friends, but at least try to get along."

"I don't have time for this now. Stan is having a party at his place and I need to get ready."

Louis stands up, stretching himself. Even though he is really not in the mood to party after hearing Harry says he hates him, he can use some drinks and distraction, maybe let Eleanor blow him.

"You can only go if Harry comes with you." He hears his mother's voice.

Both Harry and Louis turn around, facing the older woman.

"What?" both boys say in synch.

"You heard me. You are going to that party together. It will be good for the two of you to go out and have fun."

"We won't have fun, mom. Also, Stan didn't invite him."

"I'll call Lorena to inform her that Harry will join you." Jay suggests to call Stan's mother.

Louis rolls his eyes.

"This is not a stupid birthday party, mother. You don't need to inform his mother about an extra person coming, we are not five. Ugh fine, he can come. Just don't expect me to spend every single second with him."

"I really don't have to go, Jay. Louis can go with his friends. He hasn't been out in two weeks I'm fine staying at home! I started to follow this really nice series on Netflix. I was thinking about a lazy night in."

Harry panics. He really doesn't want to be at this party. Those people are all Louis' friends and hate his guts. Just imagine all the people that hate you drunk and on drugs. No, Harry really doesn't want to go.

"You are going, Harry." Jay's voice is the sternest Harry has heard it towards him. She has always been really sweet.

"Okay, I'll get ready I guess." Also Harry stands up and both boys move to their room. When Harry is about to enter his room, the other boy informs him the time they are leaving.

"Zayn is picking us up in an hour. Be ready and don't embarrass me." Louis closes his door with force, making Harry roll his eyes. This boy has so many issues.

Harry takes a quick shower, blow dries his hair and picks a nice outfit, but not too bold. He really doesn't want drunk people insulting him all night because he 'dresses gay'. He goes for a simple dark blue skinny jeans and a plain white shirt. He does decide to wear a bandana, but a simple black one, to control his curls. Harry looks in the mirror. He doesn't see himself, he sees another version, a sadder one.

The taller lad is waiting in the living room for Louis to arrive. He is still thinking about excuses to stay home. Stomach cramps? Should he pretend to fall and say he hurt his ankle? Fake a death from someone back home?

His thoughts get interrupted by the smaller boy coming down. His hair looks like he just had sex but it suits him and it's fucking hot. He is wearing a tight pair of black ripped skinny jeans, rolled up on the ankles to show off his red vans, a dark grey Rolling Stones shirt and his oversized jean jacket. Harry hates the boy with all his heart, but he has to admit he looks good, really good.

Louis feels the pair of green eyes burning on his body, making him feel good in some kind of way. He has a smirk on his face, enjoying the attention of the curly lad. The last time Harry had checked him out was during gym and he really missed this for some weird kind of reason. Probably because it boosts Louis' self-confidence. But as much Louis likes the fact that Harry only has eyes on him, he does give him a snappy remark.

"I'd rather have my girlfriend checking me out."

"I wasn't checking you out." Harry snaps. If Louis can lie all the time, he can as well.

"Sure you weren't, Curly. Now get up, Zayn is waiting for us."

Harry sighs and follows the boy. This night is going to be hell.
