Chapter 18

Harry decides that after ten minutes it's time to go to Louis' room. The boy is starving and he really wants pizza. He softly knocks on the door next to his.

"Stan if that's you I will smash your face." Louis snaps.

"It's me." Harry says softly, carefully opening the door.

Louis' face expression softens and looks at the boy with a small smile.

"Hey Harry, I didn't expect for you to be back already. I was only joking when I said you have to be home at ten." the smaller boys laughs and Harry joins in.

"I know, don't worry. I was just wondering if you would like to eat pizza? I'm going to order some."

"I'd love to get pizza but didn't you eat already on your date?"

"Let me tell you that story when I ordered. Now I just really crave food. Which pizza do you want, Louis?"

"I'll take a vegetarian one."

Harry raises his eyebrow.

"A vegetarian one?"

Louis nods.

"Yeah, I'm not that hungry and you honestly sound like you are starving. You can finish my pizza ass well then."

Harry feels his body tingling and his heart beating like crazy. He bites his lip, but the corners of his mouth are curling up too much. He is not able to hide the smile.

"Thanks, that's actually really nice. You don't have to, Lou. You can choose whatever you like."

"And that's a veggie pizza. Stop fighting me and order my food, curly." Louis winks at Harry, showing he is just joking and not being mean.

"Fine, I'll order the pizzas and then I'll help you to get downstairs."

--

"I can't believe he took you to a fucking steakhouse, dick!" Louis says full unbelief, his mouth stuffed with pizza.

"The waiter really looked at me like 'wtf dude wrong restaurant' when I asked for the vegetarian options." Harry laughs.

"He is such a jerk."

"Tell me about it, when I rejected his kiss he was being so horrible about it. Then he just told me he wanted to get into my pants."

Louis' jaw drops.

"You can't be serious, did he actually say that?"

Harry nods, taking a bite off his pizza.

"Yup, before he drove away. I'm so glad I never did something with him on the party or after."

"I bet his dick is small and full of scum."

"Louis! I'm still eating! Please let me enjoy one meal!" Harry moans. "I really don't want the image of that."

"Here, you can have the rest of mine. I'm full." Louis pushes his pizza box towards Harry, giving the boy 3 extra pieces.

"Are you sure you don't to eat more, Lou?"

Louis shakes his head.

"I finished a pack of cookies this afternoon."

Harry takes the piece of pizza from Louis' box and takes a bite.

"I heard you talking to Stan and Jonathan." Harry admits after a bit of silence.

Louis' heart starts beating fast.

"Did you? What did you hear?"

"You blowing off the bet. Thank you, Louis. It means a lot to me that you didn't accept that."

"It's really no big deal. I would never do that to someone. I'm not a bad person, Harry. I know I acted like one since you've arrived here but I swear I'm not. I'll show you."

Harry smiles at Louis, looking into his ocean blue eyes. They are so beautiful.

"I know you are not. You already proved that when you defended me in front of your friends."

"Please don't call them my friends. Stan is a dick and I won't talk to him after the shit he said today. I'm not hanging around with people like that. And by the way, friends don't betray each other and they have each other's back. We are friends, right Harry?"

Harry can see the hope in Louis' eyes, covered by fear.

Louis would understand if Harry starts to laugh now, shaking his head and tell Louis that he is an idiot. That's probably how Louis would react if someone that has been treating him like shit for the past two weeks implied that they were friends.

But Harry is different. Harry believes in second chances and forgiving. Harry believes in the boy that is sitting on the couch next to him that just ordered a veggie pizza so Harry can have his leftovers. He doesn't know why, but he has a weak spot for Louis, even after all the hurtful things the smaller boy has said and done.

"Yeah, yeah we are friends."

--

After Harry cleaned up the empty pizza boxes and brought a glass of water with a painkiller for Louis, both boys are watching some tv. It's Britain's got talent and right now a boy is singing.

"He is really good. I wish I could sing like that." Louis says. His head is on Harry's lap so his bad foot can rest on a high pillow at the end of the couch.

"You can sing like that, Louis."

"Nope."

"You can. When you are in LA you should totally apply for the singer-songwriter program of the school. I think they would even teach you more there and you can actually become really good."

"How do you know I write songs?"

"I can hear you sing in the shower Louis. I know a lot of songs, but the ones that you are singing are totally unknown to me so I just assumed and you confirmed it for me." Harry smiles smugly at Louis, making the other boy roll his eyes.

"Stop being so smart."

"What can I say? My mom just made me big in general. My length, my brain, my hands, my di..."

"Enough information, Styles!" Louis giggles, slapping Harry's thigh lightly. Louis really enjoys spending time with Harry. The boy is funny and nice to be around.

Harry wants to answer, but his phone is ringing.

"Hey Steph!" Harry says with a cheerful voice. Louis immediately pushes himself up, removing his head from Harry's lap.

Harry gives the boy a painful look when he moves to the other side of the couch.

"The date was horrible! But I'll tell you tomorrow at school. I don't really have time to talk now. See you tomorrow, girl."

Harry finishes his phone call and scoots over to Louis. He really needs to talk about Louis' reactions towards Stephanie, because that's the thing that keeps ruining their friendship.

"Louis, look at me please."

Louis doesn't listen, eyes glued on the tv.

"Louis, why are you always reacting like that when I talk to Steph?"

"You always choose her over me." Louis says honestly, not wanting to hide it.

"What do you mean? Louis we are doing alright now and I really want to keep it that way. You just told me we are friends so talk."

Louis sighs, looking down at his lap.

"It's just... Every time I suggested something, you chose Stephanie over me. I wanted to go to the library together, you go to Stephanie, I wanted you on my team during volleyball, you go to Stephanie, I accidently hit Stephanie on her head, you pick her side."

Harry's brain is taking in the information that Louis just gave him.

"Okay, first of all, I'm sorry if that made you hurt Louis. I didn't intend on hurting you. Second of all, that hit was not an accident."

Louis can't hide his smirk and also Harry has to laugh a little, but turns serious within seconds.

"You have to tell me such a things. I don't want us to fight. But I'm going to be honest with you, I'm not going to give up on Stephanie. She has been my friend since day one when you didn't want to be, Lou..." Harry's voice is soft and careful. He doesn't want to ruin his friendship.

"I understand. She was there when I was being a dick. I'm not angry at you, it just stings I guess."

Harry nods understandingly.

"I'm glad you told me, and I'll take care about your feelings more now that I know what the problem is. There is no way that you and Steph can become friends?"

Louis shakes his head.

"That's not going to happen, Harry. Only you can befriend the one person that I literally hate."

Harry chuckles lightly.

"I'm sorry, Lou. If you want we can have lunch together tomorrow?"

Louis shakes his head.

"No, it's fine. You can hang out with Liam and Stephanie at school. I don't want you to have problems with them. You'll have me at home."

Harry's heart is beating faster. He'll have Louis at home...
