Showdown

Mark Mardon escaped prison. Again.

And now, he was out for revenge. Again.

Barry grabbed the weather wand and raced away, Cisco and Caitlin in his ear, helping him try and locate Mardon.

"There's no abnormal weather activity." Cisco said.

"Yeah." Barry said, "I want to find him before he decides to get all homicidal."

"I think it's a little late for that." His friend replied.

Barry chuckled and continued running around. After ten minutes of finding absolutely nothing, he raced back to STAR labs in defeat.

"It's alright Barry, we'll find him," Caitlin reassured.

"Yeah, but how many people are going to get hurt or killed before we do?" Barry asked.

"He hasn't done anything yet," Cisco reminded.

"Which just makes me worry more," Barry said. "He's probably planning something big."

"Well there's no doubt about that." Cisco said, "The man likes attention and he's dramatic."

"No wonder he and the Trickster got along so well." Caitlin commented.

Barry's reply was cut off by the alarm. He sighed, "Looks like Mardon has decided to make an appearance."

Caitlin held out the weather wand, "Good luck."

Barry raced away, coming to a stop in the square, where Mardon was creating an electrical storm.

"Flash!" He shouted, "Good to see you."

"Yeah yeah," Barry said, then raced the two of them to an abandoned dock before Mardon even knew what was happening.

Mardon scowled, "Why did you do that."

"I'm not letting innocent people get in the crossfire this time." Barry said.

Mardon huffed, "But that's sucking all the fun out of it. Now I have to kill you with no one watching."

"You can't kill me," Barry said, raising the weather wand.

"That's what you think," Mardon said, smiling, "but I've gotten stronger."

And before Barry could use the wand, Mardon blasted him with a gust of wind, knocking him to the ground and the weapon out of reach. Mardon instantly then shot a bolt of lightning at the downed speedster, successfully frying all the electronics in it.

Meaning no coms and no vitals for the pair back at STAR labs who were currently panicking and racing towards the STAR labs van.

"See?" Mardon said. "Stronger."

Barry groaned and jumped to his feet, "Yeah, well, I've also gotten faster."

Then, an insane battle with a whole lot of lightning ensued.

Barry was racing around. Mardon was shooting lightning and wind and rain. Mardon threw another lightning bolt, and Barry planted his feet, reached out, and caught the bolt. Then he hurled it back at Mardon.

Mardon's eyes widened as the lightning came hurtling back at him. The lightning struck him and he collapsed to the ground, half on and half off the dock. He groaned.

Barry dusted his hands off and started walking towards Mardon.

"See?" Barry said. "Faster."

Mardon scowled and sent and electric pulse into the water beneath him. When Barry was right next to him, he shot a blast of wind.

He caught Barry off guard and Barry lost his balance, tumbling into the electric water.

Barry gasped in pain as he hit the water. The electricity burned and surged through him. When he gasped, he inhaled the sparky liquid. He quickly lost consciousness.

Mardon stood up and dusted his hands off with a smirk. He was about to electrocute the water again to make sure Barry would definitely be dead, when his hands lit up, it was instantly drawn back.

He felt the power leech out of him.

He cursed and turned around to see and angry Cisco holding the weather wand. Then, Caitlin hit him over the head with a pipe with all her strength.

"You son of a bitch." She said as he fell to the ground, unconscious. Then she raced to the water.

Cisco ran to a crane and tweaked a few wires to get the machine running. He maneuvered the crane under the water until he felt himself hit something. He carefully but quickly grabbed whatever it was he hit, praying it was Barry.

It was.

Cisco set him on the ground and then rushed over to Caitlin.

Caitlin felt for a pulse, cursed, and started doing CPR.

"Come on Barry. Come on. Don't you dare die on me." She said.

Barry gasped and came back to life.

"Oh thank god," she gasped.

Cisco let out a breath of relief.

"Don't ever do that again," Cisco said.

Barry nodded.

"Come on," Caitlin said, helping him up, "Let's get you back to STAR labs."

Barry nodded again.

Then he looked up and winked, "Happy Halloween."
