Exhaustion

Barry POV

I am so tired.

But I couldn't sleep.

Not because of nightmares or anything, although they were still there.

But because I had way too much work to do.

I had work work. I had Flash work. I had to fix the city.

There was just no time for sleep.

Everyone kept telling me to rest. To take a breather.

I'm breathing just fine thank you.

Don't get me wrong, I would love  to sleep. But I can't.

I can't sleep knowing that there's people suffering for every second I'm not out there.

So I run. And run. And run.

And I am so tired.

I really want to cry.

I walked into work and was surprised to see Caitlin. I hadn't seen her much/ at all since... what happened. And the look Caitlin gave me when she saw me made me think I probably needed to rest. That was Caitlin's "You'd better be worried" look.

"Barry!" She said, "When was the last time you slept?"

I thought hard. Was it two weeks? No, three? Not sure. I just shrugged.

"Bartholomew Henry Allen." Caitlin scolded. "You need to sleep."

I shrugged again, "I have a nap scheduled for a week after Tuesday."

Caitlin scoffed. "I swear, if you don't sleep, I will sedate you."

"Sedative don't work on me. Remember?"

"Then so help me I will have Joe knock you out."

"Harsh," I muttered.

"You're exhausted Barry." Caitlin said quietly, "You can't save Central City is you're sleeping on your feet."

"Save Central City," I scoffed, plopping down at my desk. Wait, when did we get to my lab.

"Yes, Barry," Caitlin said to me, "weather you think so or not, you're Central City's hero."

"I'm not a hero."

"Regardless, you still need sleep." Caitlin folded her arms, "If you don't sleep tonight, I will see to it that Singh makes you take at least a week off and you will be put under house arrest. And I will be keeping an eye on you. And if you try and run, I will personally knock you out."

"But not if I sleep tonight." I said. I could just sleep tonight, and then go back to not sleeping. She did only say tonight.

"And tomorrow. And the day after. And so on."

Drat.

"Barry," she growled.

Shoot. I said that out loud.

"You said that out loud too."

I sighed, "Fine. I'll sleep."

"If you don't..."

"You'll find me and knock me out. I know."

Caitlin smiled gently, "Go home Barry."

I raced away.

I was out like a light as soon as my head hit the pillow.

A/N- Exhaustion. That's what I me! I haven't gotten to bed at a good time in a while. Probably should get on that. :P Tomorrow is Concussion. Fun fact, I have never had a concussion. My sister has had quite a few. She always gets hurt easier. Maybe it's because she actually tries and works out and moves around. I move though. I go for walks, and I sometimes get hurt when I trip over my feet cause I was focusing on my book and not my path.

There I go. Rambling. Whoops. Is it even possible to ramble in writing? Guess it is.

Have a good day/night! Love y'all! :)
