Caregiver

"Joe," Barry whimpered, clutching his shirt weakly, "Joe please. I don't wanna die. Please Joe."

Joe stroked his son's hair lovingly while tears streamed down his face.

"It's going to be alright son. You'll be okay."

Blood poured from the large wound in Barry's chest. Barry had taken a knife for Joe, and now he was laying on the ground, bleeding out quickly. Barry knew he didn't have much longer. But that didn't mean he wanted to go.

"Please Joe. Please." He cried clutching Joe's shirt as tight as he could, like it was his life line. "I don't wanna go. I can't go."

"It'll be okay Bar. We'll be okay."

Barry sobbed harder, yet softer.

He could feel his strength being sapped away.

"I'm sorry. I'm sorry Joe. I'm sorry."

"You don't have anything to be sorry for." Joe said, hugging Barry closer.

"I'm sorry," Barry repeated, "I love you. Tell Cait and Cisco and Iris I love them. Tell them I'm sorry. I'm so sorry. Tell them to take care of Central City for me. Tell Felicity and Ollie that I love them too."

"I will," Joe whispered, squeezing his eyes shut as Barry's eyes fluttered shut.

"I love you dad."

"I love you son."
