Electrocution

Barry POV

You know, you would think, having lightning coursing through your body would make it so you aren't susceptible to electrocution. Or that it would at least hurt less.

Wrong!

In fact, the lightning coursing through your body makes getting electrocuted a million times worse.

You're probably wondering how I figured this out. Or not. You might be smart and use common sense. But Imma tell you anyway.

It was just another normal January day....

***** JANUARY 12 *****

I was working on a case. There were multiple homicides where the target had been electrocuted. It was looking a lot like when we dealt with power outage guy (forgot his name), but I knew he was dead so it wasn't him.

I was about to head downstairs when my phone rang. It was Cisco.

"Hey man, what's up?"

"There's a meta attack at the docks. I think it's your electric dude."

"Great." I said, then raced away.

Turns out, it was an electric girl.

She looked to be in her twenties, and she had electricity bouncing off her skin. Her hair was white and stood out everywhere. She was like a young, female Albert Einstein. But a whole lot scarier.

Currently, Female Einstein was stalking towards a man who was attempting to crawl away.

"Hey!" I shouted.

The girl turned her head, "Flash," she sneered, "I see you've come to try and spoil my fun."

"Yeah, must be shocking that I'm here."

She gave me an unimpressed look while Cisco laughed in my ear.

The man took the opportunity to scramble away. When Miss Einstein noticed, she turned on me with a rather frightening glare.

"Now look what you've done." She said, "You let him get away."

"Well, that was the plan," I muttered.

I failed to notice that I was standing in water, and I was kinda confused when all Miss Einstein did was bend down. Then she tapped the water and a jolt of electricity ran through me.

Ouch.

It really didn't hurt much worse than being tazed, but it distracted me enough for her to shoot me with a much lager blast of electricity.

You know, you would think, having lightning coursing through your body would make it so you aren't susceptible to electrocution. Or that it would at least hurt less.

Wrong!

In fact, the lightning coursing through your body makes getting electrocuted a million times worse.

And it didn't help that the air was so dry with it being winter and all.

I screamed in pain and collapsed on the ground. I tried to get my com out as quickly as I could, since it was fried and trying to cook the insides of my ear. I went to get up, but Miss Einstein blasted me again.

Her electricity combined with mine made it feel like... honestly I can't describe it in any way other than extremely painful. But that's a MAJOR understatement.

I couldn't move.

I couldn't feel anything.

I just laid in the puddle, crying.

Then there was more pain.

Can't she see I'm not going anywhere! Can't she just leave me alone?

I faintly heard yelling in the distance. But then the world faded away.

I heard someone call my name.

And the I was totally unconscious.

***** LINE BREAK *****

That familiar sound of a heart monitor was what finally woke me up. That really shouldn't be a familiar sound.

I groaned and flopped my head to the side.

Upon hearing my groan, Caitlin rushed in.

"Damn it Barry." She said.

"Everything is tingling." I said thickly.

"And it's going to until you're healed."

"This sucks."

Caitlin put her hands on her hips, "Well don't get electrocuted."

I smiled lightly, "Thanks for the advice. I'll be sure to follow it."

***** LINE BREAK *****

So that's how I found out that getting electrocuted when you're a speedster sucks. A lot.

You all could probably care less.

Don't get electrocuted!

**********

A/N- If you couldn't tell, I had absolutely no clue what I was doing. I kinda just wrote whatever came to my brain. Sorry that this one sorta sucks. The next one should be better. It is.... "Stay".

Oh that's probably gonna be angsty.

Love y'all! :)
