THE NEXT MORNING

Celeste and Narcissa were sitting together on a big armchair while Draco sat opposite of them on his own. Narcissa kept playing with the ends of Celeste's long blonde locks and swirled them in her fingers while Celeste was fast a sleep in her arms. Narcissa looked at her daughter in adoration, she was so beautiful and so sweet. She couldn't take her eyes from the girl, she didn't dare. She thought that the second she looks away, her daughter will be gone and that last night was just a dream. She kept smoothing her daughter's hair when her eyelids started to flutter.

Celeste opened her eyes slowly and the first person she noticed was her mother. She rubbed her eyes gently and pulled herself up to sit. "Hi," she whispered.

Narcissa chuckled. "Hey you," she smiled and caressed her cheek. "Did you sleep well?"

Celeste nodded but stayed quiet, making Narcissa worry. "Celeste, is everything all right?" Narcissa asked carefully, not wanting to scare the girl.

"W-when we first met at the bookstore, did you think that I could've been...?" Celeste asked quickly but instead of looking at Narcissa she just stared at the floor.

"I had suspicions yes, but I had so many over the years so I think I just didn't want to give myself false hope," Narcissa sighed. "But believe me if I'd really knew that it was you, I would've taken you with me right away," she said.

"O-okay," Celeste said and finally decided to look at her mother again. "What happens now?" she asked with her beautiful eyes filled with wonder and worry.

"Well first of all I am never going to let you go," Narcissa chuckled and wiped some of her own tears away. "But if you don't mind, I'd really like to get to know you. Unless it's too early for you?"

"Oh well I suppose it's okay," Celeste said and gave her mother a shy smile. "What do you want to know?"

Narcissa cleared her throat. "Umm what about your family?" She swallowed hard on the word 'family'.

"Mom and dad are dead," Celeste said quietly. "They adopted me when I was four and died when I was six," she explained and tears started to pour down her face.

"Oh," Narcissa said and was stunned by the answer. "I-I'm so sorry..." she said and held her daughter's head near to her chest. "I'm so sorry for everything," she whispered and smoothed Celeste's hair.

Celeste sniffed. "It was a long time ago," she sighed and pulled herself from Narcissa's embrace. "I-I just don't like to talk about it that much.."

"Of course," Narcissa nodded and thought about her next question. "So I presume you were raised by your aunt then? You two seemed very close when I saw her with you."

"Well yes and now. I was raised by my uncle, he was dad's brother and when Olivia came to picture, I was eight. So she wasn't there from the beginning. Uncle Will took me in right after mom and dad died, " Celeste said. She noticed a flicker of pain in Narcissa's eyes when she called the couple who adopted her 'mom' and 'dad'. "Oh I-I'm sorry. I didn't mean to..."

"There's nothing to be sorry for dear," Narcissa assured her. "They were your parents when we couldn't."

Celeste gave her mother a small smile. "Yeah..."

They stayed quiet for a moment.ย

Narcissa was looking at Celeste, not wanting to let the girl leave of her sight. While she was thrilled beyond words that her daughter was now there, Narcissa couldn't help but feel guilty for everything that has happened or hasn't.ย

She didn't get to see Celeste grow up, Lucius didn't get to spoil their little girl.ย

Draco didn't get to have his sister.

"You are staring," said Celeste with a smirk that screamed Lucius and Draco.

"I-I'm sorry. I didn't mean to..." sighed Narcissa, worrying that she might make the girl uncomfortable.

The girl, her daughter.

"I was just making a joke. Or at least I was trying to," said Celeste.

Narcissa chuckled softly.

Before Celeste could had said anything else, she heard Draco waking up. She turned to look at his brother who yawned and rubbed the back of his neck. There was many similarities between the twins, look wise, but they acted completely different. Celeste thought that maybe she would act a lot more like Draco, if she wasn't taken away.

"Hey," Draco said to Celeste, who awkwardly waved her hand to him.

"Hi," The blonde girl said.

NATHAN AND BETH RAN

to the infirmary. They were so excited to hear everything about Celeste's reunion with her mother. They opened the door but for their surprise, Celeste and Draco's mother was still there. Nathan and Beth observed them from the far distance, they indeed looked alike, all three of them.ย

Celeste was sitting next to her mother on a tiny armchair, while Draco had switched to sit on Celeste's bed. Celeste kept listening to her brother who told stories of their childhood, when she noticed her friends.

"Nate, Beth!" she smiled and got up to hug them.

Narcissa immediately furrowed when her daughter hugged the tall boy, who seemed to be just couple of years older than her.

"Cele," Nathan smiled and kissed her cheek, making Draco groan.

Celeste just chuckled and took Nathan and Beth's hands and moved closer to her family with her friends. She was very nervous to introduce them, she didn't even think it would happened this soon but she just couldn't ignore the fact that her best friends were there now with her family.ย

Beth was the first one to walk over to Narcissa. "It's a pleasure to meet you. I'm your daughter's sister," Beth smiled and extended her arm towards Narcissa, who seemed to be very confused.

"S-sister?" She frowned as shook the eager girl's hand. She turned her to Celeste who had the most sweetest smile on her face. The furrow of Narcissa's brows immediately faded by the look on her daughter's face.

Celeste smiled brightly. "Beth's my best friend but she's like a sister to me," she explained proudly and wrapped her arm around Beth's shoulder to give her a side hug.

"And I'm Nathan," Nathan said and shook Narcissa's hand. "I can clearly see where Cele gets her looks from," he smiled and winked at Celeste.

The wink made Narcissa very uncomfortable; first she hasn't seen her daughter in twelve years and now there's a boy in her life. Narcissa narrowed her eyes and took a good look at the boy. "So you are Celeste's...?" She started but stopped before she could finish.

"Oh, I'm not her boyfriend," laughed Nathan and shook his head when he noticed Narcissa's concern. "I'm her best friend as well."

"I've known Nate ever since my parents brought me home. He's my neighbor and then we went to Ilvermorny together, where we met Beth," Celeste explained to Narcissa. "He's like my brother."

Draco flinched when he heard Celeste calling Nathan her brother. He knew that the two were close but he didn't like the idea that she had another 'brother'. And Narcissa felt the same way. She was relieved that the boy wasn't Celeste's boyfriend but she wasn't sure was she happy or not that her daughter has these two in her life and that she considers them as her family.ย

Actually, she knew that she was happy, because she wanted Celeste to be happy and loved but she was jealous, very jealous that there are people in the world who have had spend more time and years with her daughter than she has.ย

Suddenly Madame Pomfrey walked into the room, interrupting the meeting. "Now Miss Starling, you're free to go," she said and patted the girl's hand. "Just remember to take it easy."

"I will, thank you Madame Pomfrey," Celeste thanked the woman before she left the room again. Celeste turned to her friends. "I guess we can get to our class. Which class is first?"

"Charms," Beth answered.

"Great," Celeste smiled and turned to Narcissa. "I think I need to get to my class."

Narcissa immediately took a step closer to her daughter, she didn't want to let her out of her sight.

"A-are you sure? I'm certain that the school could grant you more days off."

"I'm sure," Celeste said but noticed the worry on the older woman's face. "But are you sure?"

"Am I what?" Narcissa asked, trying to hide her distress.ย

"You don't want me to go," Celeste stated and gave her mother a sympathetic smile.

Narcissa sighed and gently rubbed Celeste's upper arm, unsure should she hug the girl. She wasn't sure was Celeste really ready for all the physical contact.ย

"I don't want you to go," Narcissa admitted.

"I'll be fine, don't worry," Celeste assured her. "Beth, Nate and Draco will look after me. Yes?" She asked and glanced at her friends and brother who all agreed.ย

"Plus, I have Olivia here. She won't let anything happen, not that there would even be a reason for something to happen."

Narcissa bit her lower lip. She knew that nothing would happen, but then again that's what she thought the day Celeste was taken.ย

Celeste looked at the scared woman and took a step closer to her, before she pulled her into a hug.

"Don't worry," Celeste sighed when her mother clenched tighter onto her. "What if I'll come and see you during the weekend?" She asked softly, she realized how scared the woman was to loose her again.

Narcissa nodded against the girl's shoulder, stroking her hair lovingly, not wanting to let her go already. "I would love that very much," Narcissa said when she unwillingly pulled away from the hug.ย

he looked straight into her daughter's eyes and placed a stray her behind her hair. "I love you," she whispered to her and kissed her cheek

Celeste smiled at her but felt terrible, because she wasn't able to say back to her. She knew that she loved her mother when she was a child and was sure that the love she had for her, was still there. But right now, she just felt too confused to say anything. She then looked at the grandfather clock on the wall, realizing she needed to get to her class.

"I'll see you on Friday evening then?" Celeste asked.

"Most definitely," Narcissa smiled softly and caressed her cheek.ย

"Good," Celeste nodded and bit her lip. "I-I have to go now."ย

Narcissa sighed and nodded her head approvingly. "Go, learn," she chuckled lightly and watched as her daughter ran off with her friends and her brother.ย

Narcissa felt a wave of worry and nausea hitting her the moment she lost the sight of her daughter. She fell on the armchair behind her and tried to even her rapid breathing but instead of getting her breathing to even, she finally broke down in tears.ย
