"After you," Tim said, gesturing for Lucy to enter the elevator.

"Thanks," she mumbled, looking up at him.

There was an awkward moment of silence as they began their descent into the parking garage.

"You uh, saved my life back there," Tim finally said.

Lucy shrugged, "You had him."

Tim chuckled, turning back to look at her. "No, I didn't, I was wedged between the seat and the dashboard while a guy was swinging a knife at my face."

"Okay," Lucy smiled smugly. "Maybe I did save your life."

The silence after that was at least ten times more awkward than the first.

"Look," Tim said. "I know that I...ruined everything."

"What do you mean?" Lucy asked.

"Us. I ruined us,"

Lucy shook her head, "No you didn't."

"Yes, I did. I pushed you away when all you wanted was to be there for me. And I'm an idiot for not realizing how much you've done for me."

"You're not an idiot, Tim,"

"I am. And...if there is any way that I could ever repay you for even half of what you've ever done for me, I will. Little by little."

Lucy smiled. "You don't owe me anything."

The elevator dinged as the doors opened.

"I do, Luce. I really do. And I really hope that you'll one day realize how special you are," Tim said. "Night."

Lucy watched as he walked out of the elevator.

"Tim," she said, trying to catch up with his long strides.

He turned around, looking down at her.

"I miss you," she admitted. "And I miss us."

Shocked, Tim wasn't quite sure what to say.

"I miss our late-night conversations in the dark, our secret phone calls while I'm undercover, and our little date nights in my living room."

"I miss those things too," Tim said.

"But," Lucy sighed. "Things can't go back to the way they were. Not right now."

"I know," 

"But maybe...they will. One day,"

"I really hope so,"

"Can we just talk? Like, for real. Like adults. And maybe...I don't know,"

"Take things slow?" Tim offered.

"Yeah," Lucy nodded. "Maybe."
