Personality: Gemma is an extrovert, hands down. She is rarely ever quiet, always having something to say in a situation. Honestly, this girl has nothing to hide. She's very open about many things, which can be very dangerous in a lot of situations. Gemma also jokes around a lot, saying dumb things to make others laugh. Sometimes though, she doesn't know the difference between joking and just being plain mean. To people she cares about, she never wants to hurt them, or make them feel bad about themselves. Gemma is a kind girl, she'll love and support and will cherish the people she loves. She just uses jokes as a defense mechanism, due to past events that occurred in her life. Honestly, on the inside, Gemma is quite insecure, but she would never let anyone know that. It's probably one of the only things she never tells about herself. She hates feeling "weak", and has the perception that all of her insecurities, and only her's, are insignificant. Anyone else she'll encourage, and try to help, but will refuse anything for herself.

Background: Gemma was born in London, England, and only lived there for two years until her family moved to China. She was born into quite a rich family. They had a lot of money, and as a child, Gemma was definitely spoiled. She always thought of herself as superior to other kids, and honestly was pretty nasty as a child. This was an ongoing occurrence until Gemma was 8, when her family went completely bankrupt. They lost millions of dollars, and everything they had made was gone. They were forced to move into a tiny one bedroom house that they could barely afford, and worked so many hours to be able to support the family. Gemma couldn't do anything to help, and whenever she went to school, she got made fun of for being poor, and people would call it karma quite often. When she was 15, she decided she needed to do something to make money. Her family was desperate, it had been seven years since the bankruptcy and they've barely gotten anywhere. Gemma started selling herself out to random guys, as an act of desperation and need. Though she was underage, there were many guys who wanted her. This did not sit well with her friend Yixing, who was the only person who knew Gemma was doing this. There were many attempts to try and stop her, but she was so adamant on helping her family. It wasn't until the day after her birthday when she had to stop, after a man tried to keep going with her. Gemma had made rules, and for 3 years those rules were followed. The men only wanted her once, though. This guy was very adamant on doing whatever he wanted, and it was quite a scary situation for Gemma. That night, right after, she deleted every trace she had of anything that had to do with her "job", and stopped. Yixing helped her get back on her feet after that, even though he had already debuted at that point. Over the years, Gemma had really gotten her life together. She had a full time job as a retail salesperson, and had an associates degree in social work. Still, she wanted to do something more than that. When she found out Yixing was the CEO of Nebula Records, this made her want to audition. She was really good at singing, and thought that it was probably her only chance. So she auditioned, was accepted, and left her life behind in China to start fresh.
