Personality: Eunkyung is a very calm and relaxed person, as she is very cautious of what people think of her. Her calm nature makes her a great person to be around when you need to vent or just want to relax yourself; she's not one to judge and will wait for you to finish getting everything you need to say out before giving her input. She rarely gets angry but when she does, she's probab;y gonna hurt your feelings without a care.

Background: Eunkyung was born in Sidney, Australia and is the oldest of three kids. Growing up, she and her siblings were met with constant bullying, as they were the only asian kids in their school. When the school refused to do anything about the treatment the Kang children were receiving, Jiyong and Eunjung thought it was best to move back to Korea.

Upon moving back to Korea, Eunkyung was happier, more or less; she was glad to be less of a target for bullies but was sad that she had to start over and make new friends. With busier school days, it seemed impossible to really get to know anyone.

It took her a few years to finally do so, making her first real friend when she was 16; during an after school music program, she met Joo Minhee. The two clicked immediately, going about their days having to meet up at least once a day. This didn't last long, however, as Minhee went on to debut as a member of Stellar. They kept in contact but Eunkyung couldn't help but feel alone with Minhee being busy.

Seeing her friend onstage, peaked Eunkyung's interests, leading her to audition for Paramount Music in 2011. She quickly improved her vocal skills, catching the company's attention. When the company announced they were starting a new girl group project, she wasn't surprised when she was recommended by trainers.

August 17th, 2011, Eunkyung made her debut as the main vocalist of Chocolate with title track, "Syndrome." Despite having various performing opportunities, she and the other members noticed right away that Paramount wasn't doing what needed to be done; aside from their cameo on "Mr. Idol" they received little attention.

Over the next two years, the group released two more singles before going on hiatus. As they didn't know what was going on with Paramount, Eunkyung moved back home with her family, assisting her father with the care of her brothers, as her mother's health had started to decline.

After 4 years of inactivity, it was finally announced to the public that Chocolat had disbanded. Despite the sour taste Paramount left in her mouth, she still wanted to be a singer and after company shopping, Eunkyung decided to audition for Galaxy Entertainment.
