Personality: Hikaru is the type of person who tries to smile no matter how many hardships he could be going through. His bright and bubbly attitude is used to hide all his inner turmoil. Originally really gullible, Hikaru's now extremely guarded and does not let anyone get close to him unless he's positive that they aren't a threat to him. Despite all of this, he really tries to be a positive person, hoping that one day his positivity will come back to him.

Background: As far as Hikaru knows, he's been alone since he was born. Well that's what his foster parents always told him. Growing up, his foster parents treated him and the other children like burdens, doing everything and anything to make them feel unwanted. If it wasn't telling them how they'll never be adopted, they didn't think twice about physically hurting them, especially with the older they got.

To keep out of their way, Hikaru joined every after school club he could, once he was old enough and eventually he spent all his time in dance and choir. A day didn't pass without Hikaru staying at school until after dark, sneaking into the house just before midnight. He doesn't know how he was never caught but knowing his foster parents, they probably didn't care if he came back or not.

It was the night before his 15th birthday when he realized he was gay; starting when he was 13, his first 3 relationships with girls just didn't work out. At first he thought they just weren't compatible but when Matsumoto Kazuya moved into the foster home, it was the first time he was truly attracted to someone. To make sure that it wasn't all in his head, he "tested" it. What he didn't expect during his "test" was his foster mother walking in on them. Her anger couldn't be put in words but before he could even attempt to explain himself, he and Kazuya were out on the street. Kazuya was pissed to say the least, leaving Hikaru in front of the house. He wandered around Tokyo that night before settling on a park bench, falling asleep minutes after sitting down.

Hikaru woke up a few hours later, drenched in sweat and not knowing where he was. He knew he was in a bedroom, judging by the mattress he was laying on but didn't know who the room belonged to. When he tried to leave, a person stopped him, their arm tightening around him.

"Where are you going?" they asked.

"Home..." Hikaru's voice wavered, hoping they wouldn't see through his lie.

"You were sleeping on a bench. It won't take a rocket scientist to realize you have nowhere to go. Plus you're in heat, you're safer here." When Hikaru stayed quiet, the man opened his eyes, looking back at the young omega. "Did you not know?" Hikaru blushed as he shook his head. The alpha smiled a smile that Hikaru would come to hate. "Don't worry, I'll take care of you."

And that's what he did. He helped Hikaru through his heat and invited Hikaru to stay with him after. The alpha, Suzuki Sora, treated Hikaru like he knew the boy for years; he made sure he had clothes, had food, and was back in school. He even went as far as introducing Hikaru to the head of King Records Japan, the company that he was working for, when he learned that Hikaru dreams of being a singer. Sora had given Hikaru everything he could ever want and he didn't know how to repay him. It was because of this that when Sora started getting possessive over him, he thought he couldn't say anything.

Hikaru made his debut as a soloist when he was 17 and immediately Sora started dictating to Hikaru's manager what shows he could appear on and what time he could be out until. Although uncomfortable, he stayed quiet because without Sora, he wouldn't be here.

It didn't take long for Hikaru to realize that Sora was hindering his career. He soon started going behind his back, with his manager, and started booking show appearances. After his 19th birthday, Hikaru missed curfew one night and tried to sneak in. Sora was sitting in the living room facing the door, red eyes piercing through the dark.

"Where were you, Hikaru?"

"My schedule ran late." Hikaru stood at the door with his head hung low, too scared to make eye contact.

"What time were you supposed to be home?"

"10..." Hikaru's voice was barely above a whisper. Sora stood from his seat, crossing the room. Hikaru stood still as Sora caressed his face.

"Now you should have known better than that." Hikaru could barely react when Sora slapped him.

He doesn't remember much from that night, blacking out after he was thrown into the fridge.

He woke up in bed with Sora wrapped around him. He pried the alpha off of him, sliding off to the bathroom. He winced at the pain that riddled his body.

His reflection was no better.

Hikaru's once pale skin was covered in black and blues but that wasn't what caught his attention; on the crook of his neck was Sora's mark.

"We're going to be together forever now. No one will take you from me now."

And so it continued. Hikaru did everything as Sora said, fearing being beaten again. There was hope that Sora would be gentler with Hikaru after he marked him but it only got worse from there. Every little thing that Hikaru did wrong would result in a beating. His scars were noticed by his staff of course and he tried his best to lie every time; his common excuse was he "fell down the stairs" but they saw right through it. None other than his manager knew that he was in a "relationship" with Sora so there was no way that he could really explain his consistent bruising.

It wasn't until one evening in early April, when Sora invited a few coworkers over for dinner. Despite their initial shock of seeing Hikaru in the kitchen, Sora didn't hesitate in announcing that they were together. They left Hikaru to cook, Sora entertaining in the living room. Hikaru was making more finger foods for the group to snack on, not paying the chicken attention. He was bringing out the food when the chicken caught.

He and one of the guests hurried to turn off the stove and air out the smoke from the apartment. Once the mess was cleared, Sora excused himself from the room, calling Hikaru to follow. The door barely closed when Hikaru backhanded into the door. He didn't hold his anger back, not caring that his co-workers were just outside the door.

"I ask so little of you and you can't even do that!" He drove his foot into the younger's stomach. Hikaru could only lay there and accept his punishment, silently wishing that this would be the one that would kill him. He didn't hear when the door opened but he felt himself being dragged from the room and yelling.

He came to in the hospital, the heart monitor beeping somewhat obnoxiously. His manager was by his side as he opened his eyes, telling him that the CEO came to see him. When he came in, he assured Hikaru that Sora had been relieved of his position.

"I know this is not a good time to ask this but given the circumstances, I would understand completely. Do you want to continue?" Hikaru immediately shook his head.

"I'm grateful for the opportunities you gave me but I probably wouldn't have gotten any of them without Sora and I don't want him to have anything to try and hold over my head." the older man nodded.

"Take care of yourself, Hikaru and if you ever want to sing again, give this company a try. It's out of the country so you don't have to worry about Sora showing up." he hands Hikaru a business card for Nebula Records. "Please consider this seriously. I would hate for your talent to go to waste over something like Sora."
