Nathan's POV:

I just finished brushing my teeth when I heard a knock on my door. I went to the door to se who it was. I opened the door and saw Jacob.

Me: "Hi, Jacob."

Jacob: "I need to talk to you."

Me: "Ok. Come in." He went to the bed and petted Eve who had just curled up to go to sleep. "I actually wanted to talk to you too."

Jacob: "Oh? About what?"

Me: "About what Maia said on the way here. She said she couldn't find a way back to our world correct?"

Jacob: "That's what I heard."

Me: "If she couldn't find out how to get back then how did Pit, Link, and the others get there?"

Jacob: He put his hand on his chin. "Your right."

Me: "Also I've been noticing all of the villains have been acting harsher than usual."

Jacob: "That's what I wanted to talk to you about." He rolled up his sleeve and revealed a large scar on his arm.

Me: I gasped "Is-Is that a-a-?"

Jacob: "Yes, it's a scar. They did it to me when I was in the crock."

Me: "Why?"

Jacob: "They said they needed my blood to free their master. I'm guessing they meant Master Head."

Me: I put my hands on my head. "This doesn't add up. Nintendo characters never go for blood."

Jacob: "I know. I was just as supervised as you are. But then again, this isn't the game, this is real life."

Me: I sat on the bed. "Yeah, I guess you're right. But I still can't believe they did that to you. What if they hurt, or even kill, me?"

Jacob: He put a hand on my shoulder. "Don't worry, I won't let them hurt you." He got up to leave. "We will tell Maia about my cut in the morning." He went towards the door but then stopped and turned around. "Oh, how are your parents?"

I instantly looked up. I almost forgot about them. I pulled my phone out and turned it on. There were no new messages. I let out a sigh.

Me: "I haven't heard from them."

Jacob: "I'm sorry." And with that he left the room.

I let out another sigh before putting my phone back in my pocket. I laid down on the bed. None of this made sense. All the Nintendo characters I knew and loved were no longer what I thought they were. I always dreamed of being in the Nintendo universe but I never imagined it would be like this. This world was a darker place than I had hoped it would be. Even my dreams were dark. Why was it this way?

I looked over at Eve. She was already asleep. I petted her softly and let out another sigh. 'I'll ask Susan,' I thought. 'I'll ask her what's going on and why it's this way. And she isn't going to confuse me with any weird questions like who I am this time.' With that on my mind I turned off the light and went to bed.
