Moments

I followed Sonny around Europe for about a week and a half. I flew straight from here to Chicago to visit with my dad for a bit. I was staying in Chicago for a few days before flying back to LA to help Mason wrap up everything he was doing for OWSLA. Maggie was currently in Miami again helping out a Mad Decent Block Party. I felt bad that I wasn't all that involved recently but I was home now and trying not to stress over anything.

Cara and I had gotten over our spat and went back to being normal human beings but it was mostly for dad's sake than anyone else. My parent's house sat on a lot of land so we had this golf cart thing to get around the yard. It was about seven at night and was getting pretty dark out when it started storming like crazy. Mom was bitching that the golf cart was left out, literally at the edge of their property. Usually her bitching would make dad go get it but since we were supposed to be de-stressing his life she left him alone in his den to watch whatever game was on.

She kept bitching at me or Cara to go get it but both of us were dressed in our pajamas which consisted of tank tops and shorts so neither of us were budging on the matter. She wouldn't stop bitching about it though and I knew Cara wasn't going to budge so when she threatened to go get dad to do it, I let out a large huff and rolled my eyes.

"Fine. I'll do it if you stop bitching." I said annoyed.

"Don't speak to me like that." She shot back but I ignored it and opened the back door. I was instantly hit with rain. I left the door open, on purpose, and sprinted out into the pouring rain. By the time I made it to the little cart I was absolutely soaked and freezing. I drove it up the yard and brought it around to the garage. I went into the house through the garage and just left a trail of water where ever I went. I made it to the kitchen table where my mom and Cara sat. Cara instantly burst out laughing and my mom gave me an annoyed look.

"You could have brought an umbrella or something. Or at least put shoes on!" She gestured and Cara pulled out her phone to take a picture of me soaking wet. I flipped her off and stood behind her.

"Let me see." I said and she held out her phone. I sent the picture to myself because it was actually kind of funny and then went to go take a shower and change. I went back downstairs to the couch and I pulled out my phone. I posted the picture on instagram with the caption "Why did I come home again?" Seconds after posting it, it was getting likes. I went back to my page and notcied I had way more followers than I had prior. The picture was getting comments now too, so I went back to it.

"R U Skrillexs gf???" Was one of them followed by "Skrilee" and a few other similar ones. What the hell.

I thought it was weird that so many random people were now so invested in my life but I ignored it. I got up and spent some time with my dad watching some football game I could care less about. I spent the rest of the night bonding with him since I was leaving the next day. I was flying into LA in the afternoon and Sonny was flying in at night so I was glad about that.

The next morning I woke up feeling kind of crappy. My throat hurt and my head felt like it weighed a thousand times. Let me tell you, traveling when you feel like crap is the absolute worst. In fact, it made it worse. By the time I made it to LAX I had developed a cough. Mason came to pick me up so I didn't have to take a cab.

"You look like hell, honey." He said and hugged me.

"I feel like I've been dragged through hell." I said back as we walked to his car. We were going to my place to drop all my shit off and I could change into something more work related and then we were heading over to OWSLA to get ready for tonight which was going to be like an opening event type party. Joel was flying in and so were a bunch of Sonny's friends from all over.

I put on a printed flowey dress that went to my knees and sandals. We made our way over to make sure everything was set up and ready. The logo was all over the place and there was a whole lotta black.

We went over everything together and eventually people started coming. I kept coughing all day and I wasn't feeling very social so I stayed around the edges of the growing party. Everyone cheered and went insane when Sonny walked in.

He socialized and made his way through the crowd. I sat down at a chair in the corner against the wall and pulled my phone out.

"Bay." I heard Sonny say and I looked up to see him walking up to me.

"Hi." I smiled at him but was too tired to stand up.

"You doing okay?" He asked and squatted down so he was more at my level. I had a mini cough attack at that exact moment, proving that I wasn't really okay.

"No." I said.

"What's wrong?" He asked and he put a hand on my leg and squeezed a little.

"I'm getting sick or something." I told him. He stood up and unzipped his sweater that had the OWSLA logo on the front. He draped it over my shoulders.

"You shouldn't be here if you're feeling sick." He told me and I gained the energy to stand up.

"Like I'm not going to attend my own party." I said and flipped my hair. He chucked and rolled his eyes and I took the oppotunity to put my arms through the sleeves in the sweater he gave me but left it unzipped.

"Sonny!" Joel shouted and made his way over. They did that little cliche bro shake thing and and I took the opportunity to dip since I wasn't Joel's biggest fan.

I found Mason talking to Luke and some other person so I made my way over to them.

"Hey babygirl." Luke said and hugged me. He looked at my face when we pulled apart. "You look like shit." He then said and I sighed.

"Good thing you're gay because you really don't know how to make a girl feel special." I said and he threw his head back and laughed. Mason and the other person chuckled too and continued talking about whatever it was they were talking about previously.

"Come on. Let's get you some water or something." He put an arm around my shouler and we eventually found a water bottle for me.

"I feel like death." I said and I put my head into his chest since I was starting to get a headache. He rubbed my back for a bit before I straightened up again.

"You need to lay down or something." He said and I coughed like ten times but waved him off.

"Baylee!" I turned my head to see Penny bounce up to me. I smiled and hugged her.

"Hey! I've missed you!" I told her as enthusiastically as I could.

"Same goes to you. You look like you're sick." She said and rubbed my arm.

"Everyone keeps telling me this!" I laughed. "I get it, I look like shit." I said gesturing to myself and she laughed and shook her head.

"That's not what I meant!" She defended. "Who's your friend?" She then asked eyeing Luke.

"He's gay." I told her and she huffed out.

"Of course he is. All the good ones are these days." She laughed and stuck her hand out to greet him. "I'm Penny."

"Luke." He said back and I left the two of them to talk while I moseyed around with my water bottle. I was more concerned with making sure everything ran smoothly than actually mingling with people. I just wanted this all to be perfect for Sonny. After all, he deserved it.

I was making sure the little bar that was set up was all stocked up with Mason when I felt a pair of arms wrap around my waist.

"I've been looking for you." Sonny said in my ear and I turned around in his embrace.

"Well you found me." He smiled and kissed my cheek.

"Please let me take a picture of this." Mason said and pulled out his phone.

"Why? I look like hell." I said even though I would never turn down a picture.

"No, you don't." Sonny said and turned back to Mason and nodded at him. He smiled and opened the camera on his phone. He snapped a picture and "aww"d at his screen after.

"I'll send it to you both." He said and looked down at his phone, lost in his own world.

Sonny turned back to me. He moved one of his arms and dug in the pocket of the sweater I was wearing pulling out a box of cigarettes and a red plastic lighter. I rolled my eyes. "You weren't looking for me. You were looking to feed your addiction." I said and he kissed my cheek again.

"I was actually hoping you would accompany me." He put the box back in the pocket of the sweater.

"Are you ditching your own party?" I asked and he winked at me and grabbed my hand. He pulled me around the edges of everyone socializing and slightly dancing to the music playing. We went out an exit door in the back that led to some small weird alleyway. He put the cigarette in his lips and lit it, putting the lighter in his back pocket when he was done.

"You're ditching the party that I so graciously threw for you." I told him and zipped the jacket up a little since the air was getting a little more chilly. He took a step towards me and grabbed my chin with one hand and kissed me. I smiled into it before remembering I was sick so I put both my hands on his chest and pushed him back.

"I'm sick. Don't do that." I said taking the sleeve of my sweater and wiping his mouth. He turned his head to avoid it and laughed.

"I don't give a shit." He said and grabbed my arm pulling me towards him, carefull to keep the hand holding the cigarette away from me.

"No!" I said and twisted away from him. He laughed and pulled me back and I was obviously losing the battle. He got me so he could put an arm around my shoulders and I couldn't break away. I didn't have the energy to fight anymore. He kissed me again and this time I didn't push him away. When we pulled apart he smiled at me before taking a drag.

"Was that so bad?" He said while smoke poured out of his mouth.

"If you get sick, I'm going to hate myself. I hope you know that." I told him, being totally honest. He gave me an annoyed look.

"It's not like I've never been sick before. Besides, what better way to get sick than kissing you?" He said taking another drag and I rolled my eyes. "If you keep rolling your eyes, they're going to get stuck in the back of your head." He said and reached out to touch my hair.

"Yeah, right." I sarcastically replied and I stepped towards him putting both my arms around his waist and putting my head in his chest as I coughed. He chuckled as he rubbed my back.

"Thanks for coughing all over me." He grabbed my hair and pulled it all to one side so when he took a drag he wasn't lighting my hair on fire.

"I feel like shit." I mumbled into his shirt and he blew all the smoke to the side so it wasn't all over me. I felt him kiss the top of my head.

"Thank you for the party, Baylee." He was playing with my hair now. I leaned back, but kept my arms still around him.

"Anything for you." I told him, completely serious. He threw the cigarette on the ground, despite over half of it remaining unsmoked.

"Seriously, Baylee. I can't thank you enough for all you've done for me." He said and I was slightly confused.

"What have I done?" I asked.

"You've been supporting me since the very beginning. I can't even count how many times I've randomly asked you to fly to wherever I am because I can't stand not having you around and you always say yes. You are one of the only constant things in my life and I love you for it."

I blinked. Oh my god.

"I love you, Bay." He said and I felt like crying. In fact, I started to tear up so I looked up and blinked a few times to stop the tears from falling before smiling. I then started laughing, mostly at myself for getting to emotional over this.

"I love you too." I threw myself into his chest again and squeezed his waist. I ruined the moment though by coughing a bunch. He chuckled and kissed the top of my head.

"You should take something. Like a cold medicine or something." He ran a hand through my hair and I pulled back to look at him.

"I will when I get home." I told him and we both looked up when the door opened.

"Oh shit. Sorry." Joel said and I pulled away from Sonny.

"No, you're fine." Sonny told him.

"I was just looking for somewhere to smoke." He said and Sonny motioned for him to come out here. Joel pulled a cigarette out of the box and offered one to Sonny who gladly took one. He then offered one to me and I shook my head.

"Not a smoker?" He asked and again, I shook my head. "It doesn't bother you to be dating one?" He asked as he lit the one between his lips.

"Obviously not." No shit. We've been dating for almost a year now. I think if it bothered me I woudn't still be here.

I watched Sonny blow out smoke and turned towards Joel.

"How's the new girlfriend?" Sonny asked and I could tell Joel got somewhat annoyed. I raised an eyebrow at him.

"She's good." He answered shortly.

"What's her name?" I asked since I now had an interest in learning about Joel's life. Who could date this dick?

"Kat." He answered and Sonny put at arm around my shoulders.

"She's the tattoo artist. Kat Von D." He said and I instantly knew who he was talking about. I started laughing just picturing them together. It was literally a perfect relationship.

"What?" Joel asked moderately pissed at me for laughing.

"Nothing. I just think that the two of you make like, the perfect couple." I told him and I tried to imagine her doing a tattoo on him. Maybe another obnoxiously green one of the other half of his neck. Too funny.

"Where you living these days, man?" Sonny asked and I took the opportunity to slip out from his shoulders.

"I'm going to go find Mason." I said and walked past Joel and back into the building.

I found him eventually and we went over everything for probably the tenth time but that's what perfectionists do. He was a little buzzed too which made things go slower. Eventually Sonny and Joel came back in and mingled with everyone. Sonny even got up and did an impromtu set which everyone loved.

As the night went on, I found myself sitting against the wall watching everyone. I had zipped the sweater up almost all the way and my coughing got worse. I was literally about to fall asleep against the wall when Luke came over and squatted down and put his hands on my knees.

"You need to get out of here, short stuff." He said and he rubbed my knees a little. I shook my head. No way I was leaving the party I threw early. And I didn't want to leave Sonny. "Come on." He said again and he stood up and held his hand out. I shook my head again.

"No." I told him. "I'm fine."

"You are anything but fine." He said. He huffed and disappeared into the crowd of people. Minutes later he comes back with Sonny by his side and I glared at him. That's just playing dirty.

"Babe." Sonny said standing next to me and I looked up at him.

"Babe." I said back.

"Go home and get some sleep." He said and I rolled my eyes standing up.

"Fine. Since clearly nobody wants me here." I said crossing my arms fully aware I was acting like a brat.

"What are you? Five years old." Luke said throwing his hands up.

"Maybe I am. What's it to you?" I cocked my head and him. He reached out and flicked my nose causing me to jump and cover my nose.

"What the hell?" I shouted at him and he laughed.

"Go home! Tell her to go home." He yelled at me and then hit Sonny's arm.

"I'm leaving, okay?" I told them and I put my hands up in defense. "God damn." I mumbled under my breath.

"Here." Luke handed me a set of keys. "Take Mason's car since I drove here. I'll come pick it up tomorrow." He told me and I nodded.

"I'll walk you out." Sonny said and put a hand on the small of my back. We weaved out way through people before walking out into the now chillier air. We walked in silence to Masons car. I leaned against the driver door, crossing my arms and looked at him.

"Don't give me that look." He said and stepped closer to me.

"What look?" I asked.

"That pouty look. You need to go home." He said and I sighed. I started coughing wich just proved his point.

"I'll come over when this is done." He told me and grabbed my shoulders and pulled me into his body.

"Okay." I whispered and coughed again.

"I'll see you soon." He said and he kissed me. "I love you." I leaned up and kissed him again but I was smiling the whole time.

"I love you too." I said back.

"Drive safe." He kissed my cheek and pulled back.

I tiredly drove home. I dug through my medicine cabent at home but I didn't really have anything worth taking except for some aspirin. I took that and changed before passing out.

The room was still dark when I was woken up in a daze by someone else crawling into bed with me. I was still partially asleep though so I just put my head back down. I felt an arm across my back pull me closer and a kiss was placed on my forehead.

"I love you, Baylee." Was all I heard before falling back asleep.
