Future Plans

Sonny finished his tour very successfully and dived head first into his Jack Ü project with Wes. Both of them were beyond excited to start banging out tracks. Excited was probably an understatement. They acted like long lost brothers finally reunited or something. They released Take You There after teasing it at all their shows for so long and Sonny has never been happier. He was home for a few days and had one show in LA while he was home which I was excited for.

Wes was around a lot now which I didn't mind all that much but he was taking away time I had with Sonny which somewhat bugged me. Like, Wes was a clippers fan and he would take Sonny with him to sit court side or up in someones box which was great and all except for the fact that Sonny couldn't give two shits about anything basketball related so why even go?

So imagine my surprise when I was sitting on the couch clicking around on the internet when Sonny came home from some stupid basketball game and plopped himself right next to me, resting his head on my shoulder.

"Hello." I turned my head and kissed his before going back to the article I was reading.

"What are you doing?" He asked.

"Nothing important. Trolling the internet." I replied.

"Are you tired?" He asked and I smirked.

"Not particularly. Why?" I asked in a flirty tone.

"I thought maybe we could start talking about us." He said and I was completely shocked. Not where I thought that was going...

"What about us?" I asked him.

"Us getting married." He reached over and grabbed my thigh. I closed my laptop and turned to face him, forcing his head off my shoulder.

"You're serious?" I asked him and searched his face for a sign of doubt or something that said he wasn't ready for this but I found nothing.

"Yes I'm serious, Bay." He smirked and I tried again to find something in his gaze that said he wasn't.

"You're not drunk or something." I tried to confirm and he frowned a little.

"I have had nothing to drink." He said and half glared at me.

"I'm just asking! I only want you to talk about this if you are fully committed." I said and he nodded.

"I am fully committed. You have my full and undivided attention." He said and I felt like crying all of a sudden. I took a deep breath and smiled.

"Okay then." I smirked and grabbed my laptop before standing up. "Let's start then." I looked down at him and he just smiled at me.

"I told Wes I would be in the studio with him tomorrow afternoon but you have my whole morning too." He said and I smirked at him. "Assuming you're not going to keep me up all night with this." I was glad he was making an effort. I set my computer down on the coffee table and stood up to grab a notebook and pen. He hadn't moved when I returned and I plopped back down on the couch next to him.

"So, where do we start?" I asked, letting him have the ball in his court. In reality, I had been thinking about this a lot and knew exactly what I wanted and everything but I had no idea what he had in mind and I had to compromise.

"I don't even know where to begin. I figured you had all of this planned out or something. You are the planner of all events, after all." He said and leaned his head back on the back of the couch. I snickered, not surprised at all that he was already overwhelmed.

"I guess we could start with a venue." I told him and he just looked at me, still lost. "Indoor or outdoor?" I questioned and he opened his mouth but then closed it and just kept staring at me with the same expression that I couldn't read. "What?" I asked.

"What if I'm indifferent?" He questioned and I sighed.

"So you have zero preference?" I asked him and he shrugged.

"I really don't care if it's indoor or outdoor." He said and I gave him a skeptical look. He had to have some preference even if it was small.

"Okay, well I was thinking indoors because that leaves more options as far as a date goes and leaves less room for error since we wouldn't have to worry about weather or anything. That and my hair gets frizzy when I'm outside for too long." I told him and he let out a loud laugh.

"Of course. Indoors then." I started a list just like I did for any event I was planning which probably made zero sense to anyone else but was perfectly organized and readable to me.

"So then we need to come up with an estimated guest count because that'll effect venue sizes." I told him and he started laughing.

"What? What's so funny?" I asked him seriously and he just shook his head and kept laughing. I glared at him until he calmed down.

"It's just, I imagine that this is what I'm like when I'm talking about music. It's like you flipped a switch and went completely into work mode. I've never really been apart of it." He smiled and I just gave him a confused look.

"I've planned so much shit for you! I'm in the middle of planning a birthday party for you, for christs sake." I told him.

"Hey, it's the label's birthday! Not mine." He corrected and I rolled my eyes. "But I've never actually helped you plan then, you know? I always just gave you free reign because everything you do is a banger." He said and I wanted to flip my hair and puff my chest out a little.

"So I'm good at what I do. Now let's get back to this." I told him and he turned his body on the couch so he was facing me. "Give me a ballpark of how many guests you want." I told him and he shrugged.

"I don't even really know a ballpark range." He said and I tried not to huff in annoyance.

"Do you want a lot of people or no people?" I simplified it.

"Well what do you want? Why do you keep asking me all these things? What about you?" He asked. I already had an idea of everything in my head, I just needed his answers to figure out how to compramise and things.

"Less than thirty." I told him and he looked surprised.

"Oh wow. Okay."

"Like I said, I don't want a big wedding. I want something private with only close family and friends. Which also ties into the indoor venue. Privacy." I told him and he nodded.

"Makes sense." He said and I realized he never gave me an idea of what he was thinking.

"So I want thirty guests max. What do you want?" I asked him and he just shrugged again. He was really testing my patience right now.

"I like the privacy idea. I don't know. I can think of thirty people off the top of my head right now and that's not even including anyone that would fall under your family or guests." He said and I sighed.

"I don't want your whole team there. I'm sorry, I love them all and they have been nothing but nice to me but I don't want this to feel like one of your shows. I want this to feel like our wedding." I told him and waited for his expression to change so I could get an idea of where we were at.  He just nodded.

"Yeah, that makes sense, I guess." He said.

"If it's really going to be an issue I guess I would be willing to bump it up to forty or fifty but I refuse to go anything more than that." I tried to compromise but I really didn't want that many people there.

"Well let's start putting some names together and just see where to go from there." He said and it was the first comment he made that wasn't indecisive. I flipped a page and made a column with my name and column with his name.

"Okay, family first. I said writing down my parents and Cara." I turned to look at him waiting for an answer.

"Four, I guess for me." He said.

"You're missing a sibling." I told him as I wrote down the names of his parents and then his sister. I didn't know which brother he was leaving out.

"Actually just three." He corrected himself and I looked over at him.

"Are you sure?" I asked and he just nodded.

"If it's going to be private then I want privacy too. It would be pointless to invite them when I know they don't really care." He explained and I just nodded and left it at three.

"Alright then. So start spitting names off for me." I said and he started listing people. Obviously he wanted his managment there since they've been with him since he was sixteen. We went though my list of people which consisted of Todd and maybe Kristen depending on if they get their shit together and then Maggie with Mason and Luke.

We made a busted up rough draft of a guest list and we actually could make it fit to around thirty people. I could tell he was exhausted so I decided to wrap it up for now despite the fact that my inner worker side wanted to plan this whole thing before I went to sleep. I followed behind him up the stairs. He unzipped his jacket and threw it on the chair in his studio before heading into the bedroom. He just fell face first straight onto the bed with a sigh. He sat up and started to change. I had spent most of the day in my pajamas so I just crawled in bed under the covers.

He climbed in after changing and brought his laptop with him. He leaned back and put the laptop in his lap opening it. I watched him for a few seconds before sitting up and then standing up on the bed.

"What are you doing?" He asked and I stepped over him and he scooted forward to move out of my way. I plopped myself down behind him, sandwiching myself between the pillows and him. I put my legs on either side of him and reached forward to wrap my arms around his chest, pulling him back. He leaned back and made himself comfortable. I was half being squished but it wasn't to the point of uncomfortable.

"I feel like I'm squishing you." He said. I just squeezed him and giggled.

"I like being squished by you." I told him and he reached over and rubbed one of my legs that was next to his body. "What were you going to do?" I asked.

"I don't know. I can't even remember the last time that I just dicked around online. Let's troll." He said and I snickered. He opened up the internet and went to twitter instantly. He scrolled through and made commentary about some people's tweets. Once he was finished with that he went to tumblr.

"This will be dangerous." I said and he chuckled. I watched him log onto his official account and scrolled through everything he was tagged in.

"It's freaking me out how much shit is on here about me and Joel." He said as he quickly scrolled past most of that. He came across a picture of us from one of his shows that I thought was cute. He had an arm around my waist and we were both holding a drink and smiling. "Skrilee." He said pointing to one of the tags on the photo. He clicked on it and the page was redirected to a bunch of pictures of us together.

"Why are people so interested?" He asked rhetorically as he scrolled through them.

"Because we're hot." I said and he started laughing. "Oh, click that one!" I pointed and he stopped scrolling to click on one. "I haven't seen this before." I told him. It was a picture of both of us and Maggie with me being sandwiched in the middle.

"Do you just google pictures of us all the time or something?" He joked.

"Actually yes I do." I told him and he stoped chuckling.

"Really?"

"Yes. Why are you so surprised that I enjoy looking at photos? I'm a picture whore." I said and he started chuckling again. He kept scrolling and I pointed to another one. It was a picture of the two of us from a distance sitting across from each other at a restaurant. Whoever posted it said "Spotted in Hollywood for diner!" Sonny was on his phone while I looked at a menu.

"Accurate depiction of us." I said and he snorted. He opened a new tab and started reading articles about the label and people he had signed for a bit. I played with his hair while he read the articles he was interested in while he absentmindedly rubbed my leg.

"Can I braid your hair tomorrow?" I asked him.

"You can do whatever you want with it." He replied.

"Can I bleach it blonde?" I asked.

"Anything but that." He corrected which made me laugh. "I was actually planning on shaving it tomorrow. It's getting past the point of fuzzy." He commented and reached up touching the shorter half of his hair.

"No!" I said maybe a little to hastily.

"What? Why?" He chuckled.

"I like it fuzzy." I said. "At least wait to do it before you leave." I told him and he started laughing.

"You've never told me this before." He said while closing the internet on his computer.

"You've never asked." I squeezed him. "If you can comment on my hair then I can do the same to yours!" I told him.

He closed his laptop and sat up off me. He got up and set it down on a dresser before turning the lights off and getting back in bed. I had scooted off to my normal side of the bed. He reached over and practically rolled on top of me, completely squishing me.

"Ugh!" I groaned and he laughed and lifted himself off of me. He leaned over with his face just above mine.

"I love you." He smiled goofily down at me and I couldn't help but giggle.

"I love you too." I reached up and pecked his lips. Then I gathered the strength to shove him off me. "Now get off me." I said and he started laughing.

"I feel the love." He snickered and got comfortable.

The next morning I got up before him which was no surprise. I took a shower and got ready for the day before making my way downstairs. I was sitting at the table eating toast with eggs working on sending emails off on my computer. I noticed the notebook sitting on the coffee table with our wedding stuff in it and got up to grab that. I looked at everything that we had written down so far and decided to start looking at venue ideas just to get a sense of where we were at.

All of the ads that were popping up on my computer were all wedding ones since that was all I had been googling lately and I started to stare at the dresses in them.

Fuck the venue. I was going to look at dresses. Besides, Sonny wasn't even awake yet so now was the perfect time. Just as I pulled up google my phone started ringing. Could I catch a break? I saw Todd's name appear on my screen and answered it with a sigh.

"What's up?" I answered.

"What are you doing?" He asked and he sounded upset.

"Uh, sitting at home. Why?" I asked. "Are you good?" I could tell he wasn't.

"Can I come over with Lilly for a bit?" He avoided my question.

"Yeah, of course!" I told him.

"Cool, we'll be over soon." He hung up and I just stared at my phone with a frown. Something wasn't right but I guess I would find out soon. I turned around when I heard someone coming down the stairs. Sonny walked over yawning.

"I woke up and you were already out of bed." He said coming to stand behind me and leaned over me, kissing the top of my head. "It was very dissapointing." He finished and I smiled.

"Sorry to disappoint, Romeo." I giggled and he sat down next to me. "Todd is coming over with Lilly." I told him.

"Now?" He asked fighting back another yawn.

"Yes. He sounded really upset on the phone so I'm assuming something happened with Kristen." I told him and he nodded and reached over to grab the notebook. "Also, I started looking at venue places if you're still up for some planning this morning. Or at least until Todd gets here." I told him and he just nodded.

"Yeah, sure. Throw some places my way." He smiled.

"Yay! Okay!" I turned my laptop towards him and started pulling up places.

"No." He instantly said to the first one and I frowned.

"What why?" I asked looking at the pictures of the place. It was a cute little country club type joint and I thought it looked pretty.

"I just don't like it." He simply stated and I frowned at him. "What? You asked my opinion and I'm giving it to you!" He defended himself.

"Well what don't you like about it so I know what to avoid when I'm looking at places." I said and grabbed my computer bringing it to the edge of the table to look at the pictures again.

"I don't know. I'm just not getting good vibes from it. It looks too stuffy or something." He said and I wanted to bang my head against the table.

"Okay, I can't really work with bad vibes and stuffy. I'm going to need something a little more descriptive." I said.

"It just looks like a place where everyone would have a stick up their ass or something." He said and I snorted.

"You are just a man of words." I shook my head and he smiled.

"Yeah, well I managed to talk you into dating me and look where we are now." He pushed my laptop back to me and I started laughing.

"You're a real charmer, Skrilly." I smirked at him and pulled up the other venue I was looking at. "Okay, this one." I pushed the laptop in his face. He scrolled through photos but I could tell he wasn't all that excited about this one either. "You're killing me." I told him.

"What? I haven't said anything yet!"

"You don't need to. I can read you like a book." I said and he just shrugged.

"I don't know. It's too...white or something." He continued to scroll through the photos.

"Too white...wow. Okay, so no really white places." I narrowed it down.

"Well it's just the walls are white and then there are these white pillar things and then the white on the tables and it's just a lot of white."

"I'm sorry. I forgot you're favorite color is black. Maybe we should get married in a hot topic or something." I joked and he reached over and shoved my head playfully.

We were interrupted by someone knocking at the door. "That was fast." I mumbled and got up to answer it. "Hey!" I said and he just had this deep set frown on his face.

"Hi aunt Baylee." Lilly said but she raced past me.

"Uncle Skrilly!!" She shouted and raced towards him. He was clearly surprised and she practically launched herself into this lap. I was surprised she said "uncle" because she's never said that before.

"She just watched Wreck It Ralph." He said and I nodded.

"You were in the movie!" She shouted in his face and he just laughed.

"I was!" He smiled at her.

"Were you busy?" Todd asked me and I just shrugged.

"We were looking at venues. You're good though. Come sit. Want a late breakfast or something?" I asked and he just shook his head. He sat down across from Sonny.

"What's up dude?" Sonny said and Todd just gave him and half assed smile before frowning again.

"Is it bad?" I asked vaguely and sat back down in my original spot. I didn't want to say anything in from of Lilly.

"Yeah." He said and I frowned. "Lilly stop pestering him."

"Don't worry about it." Sonny waved him off and just bounced Lilly a little who started giggling.

"We almost broke it off. In fact, I wanted to. It's not healthy to live like this and then all this crud is going down in front of her and I just can't deal with it." He said nodding towards Lilly. "She said if it ended then she'd go after full custody." He said and I could feel my eyes widen.

"What the fu-heck!" I stopped myself.

"Yeah. Now she wants to go to counseling and I'm just so over all of it. It's not worth it anymore. I don't think any amount of counseling is going to fix this." He said and I felt bad for him.

"And as far as the whole custody thing goes I make almost double what she does and then my name is the one on the house and everything but I know she would win because she's the madre."

"I like the Spanish twist." I tried to lighten the mood. He just shook his head. "I can abuse the system and get you a top dog lawyer." I told him. He sighed and rubbed his face and then started chuckling.

"If it's Cara in a pencil skirt and glasses then I'll agree to that." He smirked and Sonny started laughing.

"That's disgusting." I told him but I was glad he was able to crack jokes.

"I might hit you up on that though in the future." He sighed.

"So what are you doing about the whole living together situation?"

"Oh I'm on the couch. Gladly." He said.

"Ouch!" Sonny said and we both looked over to see him half bent over while Lilly pulled at his guages.

"Hey!" Todd said loudly and Lilly instantly dropped her hand and looked like a kid who just got caught with their hand in the cookie jar. I almost laughed out loud at her expression. "Knock it off." He told her firmly and she just looked down and away from him. "Anyways, I'm going to try out the stupid counseling deal just because the thought of going to court right now makes me want to vomit."

"I don't blame you." I told him. "But like I said, my parents would be more than willing to help and you know it wouldn't be an issue."

"Speaking of, your mom called me a few days ago." He smirked at me and I just frowned.

"I'm sorry." I apologized and he started laughing.

"I actually enjoy talking to your mom, unlike you."

"Because she doesn't criticize everything you do or say." I told him and he smirked.

"Yeah she asked about Lilly and all the drama going on and such. She asked me if I had met Cara's new guy yet which I thought was funny."

"Joel is in for a treat." Sonny commented which both of us laugh.

"They aren't dating, apparently." I told them.

"Hasn't she been with this guy since the whole engagement thing? I read an article about it and then that thing he posted on Facebook or whatever explaining himself. I think it's all hysterical. I always thought Cara needed to loosen up a little and here she is breaking up an engagment."

"That engagement was doomed from the start. Anyone who gets engaged via Twitter is doomed." I commented.

"Well not everyone is going to make it a big production." Todd said and then turned to look at Sonny with a knowing look. Sonny just smirked back.

"You think she would have accepted anything that wasn't a big production?" Sonny asked pointing at me and Todd threw his head back laughing while I glared at him and tried not to smile because it was actually very accurate and very funny.

"Daddy I'm bored." Lilly whined from Sonny's lap. Todd sighed and went to go open his mouth.

"Want to go help me make a song?" Sonny asked her and she smiled.

"There you go!" Todd smirked and Sonny set her down and stood up.

"Two birds, one stone." He smirked and looked down at Lilly. "Let's go!" She followed him up the stairs. Todd reached over and grabbed my notebook and flipped through it.

"So you've started planning, I see." He tossed the notebook back in my direction and leaned back in his chair, crossing his arms.

"I have. I'm currently looking at venues." I told him and he nodded.

"Glad you worked it out. Wish I could do the same." He smirked and I gave him a sad smile.

"Hey, when did Lilly learn uncle?" I asked him.

"I don't know. Recently. She realized that mom goes with dad just like grandma goes with grandpa. Uncle goes with Aunt and she's always known you as aunt. I didn't really think twice about correcting her now that you're getting married and everything." He explained and I nodded.

"I don't mind it. I don't think he does either, I was just wondering." We both heard music coming from upstairs. Todd and I caught up for a bit and he went into further detail about all this shit going down with Kristen now that Lilly wasn't in the room with us.

"Babe!" I heard from upstairs.

"What?" I called back.

"Wes is coming over." He said.

"I thought you were leaving soon." I said looking at the clock.

"Change of plans." Was all he said and then the music started again.

"Is Wes Diplo?" Todd asked and I nodded. "I can never keep up. They should all just legally change their name to their stage names." He said and I smirked.

"That would make me Mrs. Skrillex Moore." I told him and he laughed.

"That's just not right." He smiled. "Is Wes the weird one?"

"They're all weird as hell, Todd. You're going to have to narrow it down." I told him.

"He's the one with the dancing girls and shit right? We've talked about this once before but I don't remember nor do I follow this whole scene." He said.

"Yeah, he's a character. He's got a three or four year old too."

"How's that work?" Todd asked.

"I think he only sees the kid every now and then. I don't know and I don't really ask. I just know he writes me big fat checks and that's all that matters." He laughed.

"I don't think I've ever been upstairs before." He said standing up.

"Sure just make yourself at home." I replied sarcastically and he snorted before heading upstairs. I decided to continue to try and look for venue's while he checked out all of Sonny's stuff.

I must have lost track of time because there was a knock at the door again and I jumped. It was then that I realized Todd never came back downstairs. I got up to answer the door to see Wes standing there.

"Hello beautiful." He smiled at me and I rolled my eyes.

"Save it." I said and he laughed. I let him in and decided to go upstairs with them to see what they were doing.

"Play the lion king song again!" I heard Lilly whine and I snickered.

"Again?" I heard Sonny ask.

"Yeah, ready for kids yet?" Todd laughed and I tried to push the wave of sadness out of my body.

"What's up, dog!" Sonny said as he sat in front of his equipment. Todd sat in the chair in the corner.

"Hey! It's a party up here now!" Wes laughed and sat down in the other chair and I leaned against the rail and watched. "Who's this cutie?" He asked when he saw Lilly who just hid behind Sonny's chair, obviously not keen to strangers.

"This is Lilly." He spun around and grabbed her before she could take off. "She's Todd's kid. Oh! Duh. Todd this is Wes. Wes this is Todd." Sonny pointed over and they both got up and shook each others hands.

"That's my little god baby." I cooed and smiled as Lilly buried herself in Sonny's shoulder.

"Alright buggie. Let's let the man get some work done!" Todd said standing up and she climbed off of Sonny's lap and ran into Todd's leg. He picked her up like she weighed nothing and carried her with ease. He followed me back down the stairs.

We fell back into ease and we both played with Lilly for a bit. Wes and Sonny were upstairs were working on their songs all day long. Todd actually helped me scim through venue places. I ended up making dinner for everyone since I was in a good mood.

We all sat around the table and ate and talked. I was so happy and it was the first time I had been feeling this great. I was assuming it all stemed from Sonny wanting to start planning but I wasn't going to let anything kill my mood. Todd and Lilly finally left and Wes wasn't far after them.

Sonny and I decided to be lazy and lay in bed while the TV played some boring movie. He was on his laptop looking at everything and anything and I was looking at venues on my laptop some more while our wedding notebook sat in between us.

"Have you started looking at dresses?" Sonny asked me out of the blue.

"Uhh, sort of." I said and he stopped whatever he was doing and looked at me.

"What's sort of mean. You either have or haven't." He smiled.

"I've only looked a little. I want to start though!"

"So start looking." He said and he completely disregarded his laptop and leaned over towards me. I just looked into his eyes trying to figure out what he was getting at. "Pull up google and start looking." He nudged my arm and I just blinked and looked at my computer. "We'll find a place later." He added.

"Why do you want me to look at a dress so bad?" I asked with a small smile.

"Because I know you. You're going to plan this whole thing and save the one thing that you get for yourself last. Do something for yourself before doing everything else." He said. I turned to my computer and pulled up a designer dress website.

"Have you thought about a dress yet?" He asked.

"Sonny, I've been thinking about my wedding dress since I was sixteen." I told him and he started laughing.

"Does every girl do that?" He asked and I just shrugged.

"I can't speak for every girl!" I smirked. "But so what? Weddings are a big deal!" I explained and he was just staring at me with a smile. "What?" I asked when he didn't say anything.

"Nothing." He smiled some more and I glared at him and flicked his nose.

"Hey!" He covered his face.

"Why are you just staring at me?" I asked again.

"Am I not allowed to stare?" He asked with a smile.

"No!" I giggled and he rolled his eyes with a smile. He picked that up from me, I noticed but it made me kind of happy.

"Why not? You're perfect." He smiled and I could feel myself blushing.

"We've been together for years and you have said every line in the book to me and you still have me blushing." I commented and his smile got bigger.

"Good." He sat up and little more and grabbed my face, kissing me on the cheek. I just smiled and looked back to my computer. If he wanted me to look for a dress then I was going to make it my mission to find one. "Do you already know what you want?" He asked and he was laying down more than I was but he was a lot closer this time.

"Of course. I want a lace long sleeves and-"

"You want a long sleeve wedding dress?" He sounded surprised.

"Yeah?" I was confused.

"You already blew my mind." He laughed. "That's not what I imagined. Go one. I'm sorry for interrupting." He said and reached over, placing a hand on my thigh.

"Okay, so sleeves and then I don't want anything cut because I'm somewhat busty and then-"

"I'm sorry but you've already lost me." He chuckled and I turned to give him an 'are you kidding me?' look. "What? I don't know shit about dresses. So far all I've heard is you want long sleeves and you have big boobs. I don't really know what that translates to!" He explained himself and I just sighed.

"Then why'd you ask?"

"Because as soon as I said dress your eyes lit up." He said and I could feel my face heating up again. "I notice everything." He said ominously and waved his fingers in my face. I just swat his hand away and smiled.

"You're just sooooooo attentive." I teased him and he just smiled. "I was going to actually ask my mom to come to help me try on dresses."

"You'll have a blast with that." He said sarcastially and then chuckled.

"I was actually thinking of inviting your mom too." I told him and he looked a little surprised.

"She'd love that." He said and I smiled.

"Good. I want it to be special. I was going to invite Cara too which I know I'm going to regret but it must be done."

"Just try not to give her a black eye." He joked and I let out a loud sigh.

"One time! And it was an accident and she deserved it!" I shouted.

"Hey! I'm just saying!" He laughed and I smiled back before leaning down and kissing him.

"I'm so very happy." I smiled and he smiled back.

"Good. That's all I want to hear." He replied and I just wanted to start dancing or something. Absolutely nothing was killing my mood.

About a month had passed and today was the day I was absolutely dreading. My mother and Cara and both flown in the night before and I was going to go try dresses on. I knew this was either giong to end either really amazing for me or really really really bad. Especially since it was the first time our mothers would be meeting and let's be real. My mom had the personality of a fire breathing dragon. Pair that with Cara and they were like the Devil and his assistant.

"So nice to meet you!" My mom smiled and shook Sonny's mom, Fran's, hand. Cara, being Cara, went in for the hug which made me want to gag but I stayed quiet. Maggie was with us too, so she was my only saving grace. We drove to a dress place and I was feeling so giddy that I was about to start bouncing off the walls.

"Hello, I'm your consultant! I'm here to find you your dream dress." A lady smiled at us and I shook her hand. "We talked a bit on the phone so I'm excited that you're finally here!" She said extra perky.

"Me too!" I smiled.

"So what exactly are you looking for?" She asked with a smile.

"I want lace. I love lace." I told him trying not to jump up and down like a child but I was so happy! "And I adore long sleeves with-"

"No." My mother cut me off and I already wanted to kick her out. "You have such a gorgeous body! Go strapless with a sweetheart neckline." She explained and I just closed my eyes and took a deep breath.

"Anyways, I want long sleeve lace and then something not too revealing with a mermaid style body or maybe even sheath. I want a little bling but not an obnoxious amount, you know?"

"You should do a ballgown style." My mom piped in again.

"Okay so it seemes like we are working with a lot here." The lady looked at my mom and then back to me. "Give me a few minutes and I'll find some things for you to try on and then we'll go from there." She smiled before turning and disappearing.

"I'm so nervous." I said after a few seconds of silence.

"You'll look stunning, I'm sure." Fran smiled at me and I was starting to get giddy.

"When's bridezilla going to come out?" Maggie asked with a snicker.

"She's more bridezilla than I am." I said pointing to my mother who just scoffed.

"I am not!" She huffed.

"Okay Baylee, so I have a few options for you, if you'll follow me." The lady came back out and I got up following her. I followed her down a hallway and into a private room. "So I got you three dresses. One, is for your mother. This isn't my first rodeo so I know how moms can be." She smiled at me and I was hit with a wave of relief. "The first one I want you to try on is a ball gown style." She said and I just nodded. I knew a ballgown wasn't for me. I was too fucking short. I had a ballgown prom dress and I just drowned in it but I knew it was going to please my mother so I tried it on anyways. Just looking in the mirror I knew it wasn't for me.

"Just remember, you're dress is coming." The lady winked at me in the mirror and I walked out in it anyways.

"Oh!" I heard my mother gasp when I walked out in it.

"No." Was all I replied with.

"I don't like it." Maggie said straight up which almost made me want to smile. "It's not you." She added.

"I'm not a fan either. You get lost in it." Fran said which I was so thankful she was here. I looked over and Cara and my mom who both were staring at the dress.

"You do get lost in it." Cara finally said and my mom looked torn.

"Ball gown is not for me mom. Get over it." I finally just said and she sighed.

"So this is a no?" The lady asked me and I nodded.

"It's a no." I said and went back to go change. I tired on the other dress which was more my style but I wasn't really feeling it. I wasn't really feeling the third one either and I suddenly had a feeling I was never going to find the dress of my dreams. She came back with a fourth one and I completely shocked myself even.

As soon as I looked in the mirror I knew this was the dress for me. I started crying which I was not planning on doing today. I walked out to show everyone and as soon as I was walking out Cara opened her mouth.

"She's crying!" She said loudly and I just turned to face all of them.

"Yes!" Maggie instantly said.

"I agree." Fran said and I smiled at her before looking over at Cara and my mom. Cara looked over at my mom before looking at me.

"Yes." Was all she said and now all I was waiting on was my mom. Her eyes started watering which just made me want to cry. I just nodded at the lady who just smiled back. I covered my face because I hated crying in front of people just I was so happy it was ridiculous. I found my dress!

Sonny's POV:

I was on the road for almost a month before I was finally back in LA. I was only home for a few days before jumping back on the tour bus and heading out of town. While I was home we were celebrating OWSLA's third birthday which made me happy. I wasn't exactly thrilled about only being home for a few days but you gotta do what you gotta do.

I know Baylee was totally hellbent on planning this wedding and I completely agreed so there was no backing out now. We had finally found a venue that we both agreed on and I let her take the lead from there. She was the perfect planner afterall.

While I was home I agreed to meet with my parents for dinner, mostly on my mom's behalf. They both drove out and I met them at a restaurant. Baylee was currently out of town with Wes and Major Lazer so it was weird coming home to an empty house. She was flying back tonight though to help with the birthday party and everything so I was glad about that. I did a walk through with Mason at the studio today so I wasn't totally unprepared.

My dad asked me a lot about the label and my new album and everything which I was more than happy to explain.

"How was meeting Baylee's mom?" I asked my mom because I was dying to know. The lady was a snake, but you'd never hear me say that out loud.

"She's...nice." My mom hesitated which just made me laugh.

"You can say it. She's a b-i-t-c-h." I spelled out and my mom sighed.

"Well she was polite." My mom shook her head. "She was very persistant that Baylee wear something she didn't want to."

"Sounds right." Was all I said.

"Are they close?" My mom asked me and I just shrugged.

"Not really. She gets along really well with her dad. She's always had issues with her mom. Here mom gets along more with her sister." I explained.

"I could tell." My mom nodded. "They were gossiping the whole time. Is her sister dating Joel as in Deadmau5 Joel?" My mom asked and I just laughed.

"Yeah! They talk about it?"

"A little. Her mom kept asking when she was going to get married."

"Again, sounds about right." I laughed and took a bite of my food.

"I was surprised she agreed to the dress Baylee liked." My mom said. "Oh Sonny, you should have seen her. She looked gorgeous." My mom cooed.

"She always looks gorgeous, mom." Was all I said and I swear my mom was glowing. I saw my dad smirk and raise an eyebrow.

"That is how you know he has it bad." My dad nudged my mom and I sighed. I smiled at them suddenly very regretful that I had wasted years hating them for not telling me the truth. They provided me with everything and I retaliated against them. Obviously I came to terms with where I was from and who I was but still.

"I can't believe you're getting married." My mom smiled at me and I suddenly felt like everyone was just staring at me. "She's a very sweet girl." My mom complimented. I knew she loved Baylee. That's all she ever wanted to talk about every time I talked to her. God bless they day Baylee asked her to come look at dresses, I swear she started crying she was so happy.

"Yes she is." Was all I said.

"How much did that ring cost you?" My dad asked with a smirk.

"Why does everyone keep asking me that?" I said.

"Because it is a rock and rocks ain't cheap. Now how much did it cost?" He asked again and I sighed.

"About thirty thousand." I answered and I watched both of them choke.

"Jesus Christ." My dad muttered under his breath.

"It's a gorgeous ring. Who cares about the price." My mom said but I could tell she was still in shock.

"Thank you." I replied with and went back to eating.

"When's the date?" My dad asked.

"She just sent invitations out, I think." I said. I actually wasn't completley sure if she did but we did set a date for the end of the year. "But end of the year. Early December." I told them. "I don't remember the exact date." I mumbled.

"Sonny John." My mom said and I just shrugged.

"She's the one who had a career in planning! I just go with the flow!" I defended myself. "You'll find out soon!" I said and my mom gave me a look.

"You don't know what your own wedding is?" She was staring at me and I just shrugged. Baylee threw so many dates at me it was hard to keep track of what she actually picked. "I can't believe you." My mom shook her head and my dad was fighting a smirk. "Where is she anyway? Why isn't she here?" My mom asked and I wanted to roll my eyes.

"She's working with Wes right now in Brazil, I think?" I answered.

"Doesn't know when his wedding is. Doesn't know where his fiancé is at. Are you sure you're ready to get married?" My mom said to my dad before looking at me.

"If I wasn't ready, I wouldn't have asked!" I said and she just shook her head but smirked.

"You're brain is everywhere. It's been like that since you were little." She smiled at me and I smiled back. "And now you're getting married." She gushed.

"Yes I am." I said proudly. I was marrying the girl of my fucking dreams.
