Homewrecker

Sleeping with a two year old was not ideal. I was being kicked all night. I got up at about five in the morning because I couldn't take it anymore. I checked my phone to see a text from Todd saying they were probably heading back tonight because Kristen's aunt early last night. I went downstairs and started cleaning the whole joint. I brought all the empty boxes upstairs and pushed them against a wall just so they were out of the way. I started cleaning the whole kitchen from ceiling to floor too. I was just trying to give myself busy work since I was feeling nervous. Not only was I still looking after a two year old but now I had to meet Sonny's parents for the first time. My nerves were completely shot.

I texted Mason asking how Philadelphia was since he was there with Wes. I ran out of things to distract myself with and I was just sitting at the table tapping my fingers on the table. I texted Cara hoping she would be awake since she was way ahead of me, time wise. I just asked how her drive back to Vermont was after New York.

I played some music on my computer and tried to calm myself down. I heard footsteps coming down the stairs so I turned around to look. I saw Lilly taking the stairs one at a time and an exhausted Sonny standing at the top, yawning.

"It is seven in the morning." He said groggily and I just paused the music and stood up to grab Lilly who finally made it down the stairs.

"Good morning, munchkin." She smiled and she handed me her stuffed pony that she was clutching.

"Baby is hungry." She pointed to the stuffed animal and I smiled.

"What does baby want?"

"Toast!" She cheered. Can two year olds eat toast? I looked over at Sonny who had his glasses in his hand and was rubbing his face.

"I can already tell you need to go back to sleep." I told him and he yawned, proving my point. I set Lilly down in the chair and went to go make toast. "Do you want anything?" I asked while grabbing the loaf of bread. He came up behind me and put his arms around me.

"Whatever you're making." He mumbled and rested his chin on my shoulder.

"Hey!" Lilly shouted and Sonny let go to lean against the counter.

"What?" I turned to look at her. She was waving her pony around in the air.

"I wanna watch cartoons!" She shouted and I walked over to my laptop and googled tv shows for her. I logged onto Todd's netflix and let her pick what she wanted. Really freaked me out that a two year old knew how to navigate Netflix.

"I'm going to buy a TV." I told Sonny, putting toast on a plate and bringing it over to Lilly.

"You can do whatever your heart desires." He yawned again and pushed off the counter to grab my head. He kissed my forehead and went to go grab his laptop. He was sitting on the couch going through some things on his computer. I brought him some toast too.

"Will you do me a favor and watch her while I take a shower?" I asked and he nodded. "Also, Todd texted me and said they would be back sometime tonight so we'll get the night to ourselves." He stopped what he was doing to look up at me. I winked at him before heading upstairs.

I showered and got dressed before heading back downstairs. I saw Sonny laying on the couch with his laptop on his stomach and Lilly sat on the ground in front of him with my laptop on the coffee table playing cartoons.

Sonny got ready for the day after I came back down. Lilly literally just sat there, ennamored by the cartoon show she was watching so I just sat there and played out all the possible situations that could happen with his parents. Either they like me or they don't. I distracted myself by answering a text from Cara.

Sonny stayed upstairs to work on some music while I stayed and watched Lilly watch cartoons. When I looked at the clock again it was almost noon. I could feel my heart rate pick up.

"Buggie. Let's go get you dressed." I told her and closed my laptop.

"Hey! I was watching that!" She cried.

"You can watch it again after you get dressed." I told her and stood up from the couch. "Let's go upstairs." I told her and she got up and raced for the stairs. Sonny was coming down the stairs on the phone. He stepped aside to let Lilly pass him.

"No no. It's the last one. Yeah, just follow the path to the last door." He sighed and rolled his eyes. "No. No. I'll just come get you." He chuckled and I instantly knew he was talking to his parents. He smiled at me and bounced down the stairs, heading for the door. I went up and grabbed Lilly's little bag of clothes. Halfway through changing her I could hear voices downstairs. I tried not to panic and finish dressing her.

"Want a bow in your hair?" I asked after noticing a bow clip in the bag.

"Yeah!" She cheered. I put her thin hair into a litle pony tail and put the clip in her hair.

"Oh, you so pretty!" I smiled at her and she pulled at her shirt, giggling. "Alright, let's go." I told her and she ran out of the room, eager to get back to the cartoons. I was such a good god mother. I followed behind her only to see her sitting about three stairs from the bottom, staring out into the kitchen.

"Not my personal taste but I guess it's not really my say." I heard a lady say. I stopped the stare above Lilly and looked down at her before looking over. I saw a man and woman standing in the kitchen looking around.

"And you must be Baylee!" The woman cheered.

"Here I am." I said but I'm sure I sounded like a dork. I stepped past Lilly who was watching everything happen behind the rail and into the room. I was immediately pulled into a hug.

"I have heard so much about you!" She smiled at me. Sonny's dad stuck his hand out for me.

"Nice to meet you finally. I'm Scott." I shook his hand and smiled at him.

"Want to go see my pride and joy?" Sonny asked and I swear he looked like kid on Christmas. I was surprised he wasn't jumping up and down.

"Yeah, let's go see it." His dad said and Sonny scooted around me and was about to start bouncing up the stairs but stopped when he saw Lilly.

"Excuse me, cutie." He smiled down at her. She just sat there before holding her arms up.

"And who's this little one?" His dad asked. Lilly just reached out for Sonny to pick her up even more, clearly traumatized.

"This is Lilly." He picked her up and balanced her on his hip. She just buried her head in his neck and nibbled on her own thumb. "She's Baylee's god daughter."

"She's a cutie." Sonny's mom said standing next to me.

"Yeah. Come check out my studio, mom." He continued to bound up the stairs and I rolled my eyes at his eagerness. Men and their toys.

"Where's aunt Baylee?" I heard Lilly ask.

"I'm right here baby." I called after her and headed up behind Sonny's mom. Sonny was explaining everything, mostly to his dad. All I saw was Lilly reaching behind Sonny for me. I grabbed her from him and bounced her around. I kind of stepped off to the side to try and calm her down. She started giggling at me bouncing her around.

"You're so cute." I told her and she pushed her forehead into my face.

"No you're cute." She giggled and then poked my face.

"No." I corrected her and she started giggling. "You're cuter." I smiled at her and she kept giggling. I grabbed her head with my free hand and kissed her cheek. She only giggled even more. It was hard not to smile at a giggling two year old. Especially an adorable one. I looked over to see Mrs. Moore smiling at me. I just nervously smiled back and tried to pay attention to whatever Sonny was talking about.

He showed his parents around up here before we went back down stairs. When we got downstairs I put Lilly down and she raced over to the couch to grab her stuffed ponies that were sitting there.

"Can I get you guys anything to drink? Water, beer, wine, juice box?" I started nervously laughing at my own joke.

"I'll take a beer." His dad said. I was so happy he said beer, which meant I could have a glass of wine.

"Ditto." Sonny said and sat down at the kitchen table.

"Here, I'll help you." His mom smiled at me and took the two beers from my hands.

"What would you like?" I asked her.

"Oh, a water, if you don't mind." She was so freaking sweet.

"No problem. I grabbed her a glass of water and brought it over before finally pouring myself a glass of white wine.

"What is that?" Lilly appeared at my feet pointing up.

"It's juice." I panicked.

"I want some." She pulled at my pants.

"It's not for you. You want a juice box?" I asked and she shook her head and pointed up.

"I want that juice."

"How old are you?" I asked.

"Two!" She smiled up at me.

"You have to wait twenty more years before you can drink this juice." I pointed to the bottle and her face looked baffled.

"I have to wait twenty years for juice?" She damn near shouted. She threw her pony on the ground. "I'll be dead by then!" She shouted and I started laughing.

"You'll be twenty two in twenty years." I corrected.

"Yeah, dead. That's so old!" She shouted and me and I couldn't stop laughing. Even Sonny and his parents started laughing.

"Hey, that's the rules kid." I patted the top of her head and pushed the bottle to the back of the counter so she couldn't reach it.

"Do I have to wait twenty years for a juice box too?" She asked and I shook my head.

"Nope! Want one?"

"Yes! Now!" She said like it was a hassle for her or something. I kept laughing as I opened the fridge and pulled one out for her.

"Oh the terrible two's. I don't miss that." Sonny's dad chuckled and took a sip of his beer.

"Careful!" I called after her as she trotted away with the juice box but was squeezing it so hard there was a trail behind her. I sighed and grabbed a towel throwing it on the ground and following her with the towel on my foot. Thankfully it was concrete and nothing stuck to it.

"Little monster." I muttered under my breath.

"Aunt Baylee!" She shouted at me from the living room. I walked over and set my wine glass down at my spot.

"I can't catch a break." I mumbled and headed over to the living room. Lilly sat on the couch pointing to the closed laptop. I sighed and set up Netflix for her to entertain herself with. I came back over and sat down.

"She is absolutely adorable." His mom smiled at me.

"So cute." I smiled back and looked over at Lilly who was getting comfortable with her ponies. We started talking about Sonny and his music. His mom kept giving him shit for being on the road so much. Then she started giving him shit for smoking still.

Sorry Mrs. Moore but he's been smoking since he was fourteen. I don't think he's just going to quit over night. I kept my thoughts to myself and tried not to smirk. They both were so sweet. After about an hour, Lilly crawled under the table and her she popped up between my legs.

"I'm hungry." She announced. Her announcement sparked a debate about lunch. We all decided to order out since we had little to no feed to feed all of us in the house since both Sonny and I were on the road so much. Sonny's dad agreed to go pick it all up once we ordered.

"Gotta wait like twenty minutes, buggie." I told her and she groaned and plopped back down on the ground under the table. She kept hitting my ankles. I could tell she was getting cranky but I didn't want to put her down for a nap until after she had eaten. She must have moved on from my ankles to Sonny's.

"Hey." He pushed back and looked under the table. She just scooted out and kept attacking his ankles. "I'm being attacked." He snickered and reached down to pick her up. My phone buzzed and I looked down to see a text from Todd saying they'd be about five hours.

"So this is your niece?" His mom asked me and I shook my head.

"She's my best friend's kid. Him and I have been friends for a long time. She calls me aunt because it's easier." I told her and she nodded.

"You look like an alien when you do that." Sonny teased her since she was making faces at him.

"You still look weird." She pointed to his head. "You're bald." She pointed and I giggled. "And you're ears are broken."

"Got to love children. Always so blunt." Sonny's mom giggled. Lilly was getting really cranky just in time for Sonny's dad to return with lunch. After lunch I decided to put Lilly down for a nap which took some time. When I came back down stairs, they grew silent which I thought was weird. Clearly I was being talked about.

"Why do children hate naps? I would kill for someone to stop my day and go "hey, why don't you go lay down for a few hours?"" I sighed and sat back down.

"Cara called you while you were upstairs." Sonny said and I picked my phone up to see a missed call and a text telling me to call her back because she had news to tell me and she was dying to get it out. I ignored it because I thought it would be rude to call her now.

"You never used to want to nap either." Sonny's mom smiled.

"Yeah, got to the point where your mother here would just stop trying." His dad chuckled.

"Your sister used to knock out as soon as I'd put her down. I don't know why you were so difficult." She shook her head.

Everything was going great. His parents asked me about everything under the sun, from my childhood to high school to college and everything. After an hour and a half I heard Lilly calling my name from the top of the stairs.

"What buggie?" I called back.

"When's mommy get back?" She asked but she wouldn't come down the stairs.

"Tonight." I told her. She climbed down the stairs slowly and moseyed into the living room where one of her stuffed ponies sat on the ground. She busied herself with the coloring book that was sitting on the coffee table.

Sonny's mom told me a bunch of cute stories about Sonny when he was younger. I was enjoying myself and I was getting the vibe that she liked me and that's all that mattered.

"Hey. Hey. Hey." Lilly appeared between Sonny and I with the coloring book and red crayon in hand. "Draw me a monster." She shoved the coloring book in his leg.

"She really likes you." Sonny's mom commented. Sonny took the coloring book and crayon and drew one of his little doodles on it before handing it back to her. She was satisfied and went back to coloring. We continued to talk for almost another two hours before his parents decided to leave. They both gave me a hug and his mom gave me her phone number, insisting that I call anytime for anything. I thought it was a very sweet gesture.

I was pleasantly surprised that Lilly managed to entertain herself for hours. Not long after his parents left I got a text from Todd saying he should be here within the hour and asked for the address.

"Buggie. Daddy's coming to pick you up soon!" I told her and she cheered. I probably shouldn't have said anything since she was getting hyper now.

"That was nice." Sonny said. I made us both a cup of coffee and we just stayed at the table talking. It was beyond comforting. I felt like I was home. I was making this place my home. Looking down at my phone reminded me to text Cara back and ask what she was freaking out about.

We talked about his new album that he was working on and after some time before there was a knock at the door.

"Who's that, buggie?" I asked her and she started jumping. Sonny got the door since he was closest to it.

"What's up man?" Todd patted him on the shoulder and came in.

"Daddy!" Lilly screamed and raced over. He scooped her up like she weighed nothing and kissed her cheek a bunch. "Where's mommy?" She asked.

"She's at home." He told her and set her back down.

"Want a cup of coffee?" I asked him. "I just made some."

"Oh my god yes please." He groaned. "And if you want to make it a hard coffee I wouldn't complain." He mumbled as he sat down next to Sonny.

"Long trip?" I asked from the kitchen.

"Long is an understatement. It's a miracle I didn't run the car off the road. Kristen was being a real b-i-t-c-h." He spelled out.

"Daddy daddy! Look what I got!" Lilly held up the two ponies.

"Oh wow!" Todd pretended to be interested. I set the cup in front of Todd.

"Sorry, it's just coffee." I teased and sat back down across from Sonny. Lilly kept shoving the ponies at Todd who looked more and more annoyed by the second.

"Lilly bug, go draw me something." He told her.

"But I've been drawing all day!" She whined.

"Come on!" He pleaded and she looked mad but sulked away quietly.

"She's very well mannered." I commented and he just shrugged.

"Yeah well want to know what a well mannered kid gets you? A girlfriend who wants more kids." He rolled his eyes and leaned back, crossing his arms.

"Whoa...what?" I asked.

"Yeah. So not only is she pressuring me about getting married but now she wants more fucking kids." He ran a hand through his hair and sighed. "That's what my last 48 hours have been. Her aunt just died and I'm getting pressured about not popping the question. How fucked up is that?" He commented.

"Yeah, that's strange."

"Whole fucking weekend. Then it turned into me being a terrible provider. Lost my shit at that comment. You know, I was actually looking at rings like two months ago," He kept ranting. "Then she starts the whole pressuring thing and it's like yeah, go buy your own fucking ring." He frowned. I just raised my eyebrows and let him keep ranting.

"And then like the few times that we've talked about settling down, she wants this big ass wedding. I don't. Because we have this thing called bills that she seems to forget about. We also have a child. Do you know how expensive babies are? They aren't fucking cheap." He complained. I glanced over at Sonny who just looked back at me with the same expression.

"Well, sounds like you had a good trip."

"Yeah. Fuck that. And fuck her." He bitched.

"Daddy stop swearing!" Lilly called from the living room.

"Sorry buggie." He called back. My phone vibrated so I pulled it out of my pocket.

"Can you just call me?" She asked. I sighed and rolled my eyes.

"Cara has been bugging me all day. Says she has some like do or die news to tell me."

"I haven't seen Cara around in a while." Todd commented taking a sip of his coffee. "Should bring her around more often and call me." He winked. I snorted and rolled my eyes. I hit call and put her on speaker, leaving the phone on the table.

"This should be good." I said sarcastically.

"Baylee, I've done a horrible thing." She answered with. I just laughed because the thought of her freaking out was funny.

"Oh no." I replied sarcastically. "What'd you do?" I asked with a smirk.

"While we were in New York I slept with Joel." She spit out and Sonny almost spit out the sip he just took.

"WHAT?" I screamed into my phone.

"You left early and then I went back to his hotel and I'm a terrible person! He's engaged!" She screamed at me and I felt like I was in shock. "I'm a fucking home wrecker!" She shouted at me and I didn't know if I wanted to laugh at how comical this all seemed or vomit at the thought of my sister sleeping with Joel.

"Baylee it gets worse! We're still fucking talking!" She sounded like she was about to cry.

"I'm speechless." I'm also really glad I decided to put this on speaker phone. Todd just sat there with a smirk and Sonny was staring at my phone.

"I just slept with someone who's about to get married! What the fuck is wrong with me!?" Actually I think she was crying.

"Well the real question is, was he wearing a ring?" I asked and I heard her sob.

"No!"

"Well that's good...I guess?" I tried to comfort her. "What are you guys doing? Texting?" I asked.

"Yes!" She kept screaming.

"Well, if it makes you feel better Todd was here and just made a comment about how he wishes you were around so he had something to stare at." I winked at him and he threw his hands in the air.

"Isn't he married too? Oh god. Does something about me just scream home wrecker?!" She kept screaming.

"It does now." I giggled.

"Baylee. This isn't funny!"

"It kind of is." I commented.

"No it's not! I'm freaking out just as much as when you found out your stupid boyfriend was texting other girls!" She shouted at me and I scrambled to pick my phone up and take it off speaker.

"Well this just got awkward." Todd said.

"Yeah, thanks for that." I told her into the phone.

"Baylee! Help me!"

"What the hell do you want me to do about it?" I asked.

"I don't know." She sighed. "I'm just freaking out. I've been freaking out all day." I watched Sonny get up from the table and Todd just shrugged.

"Listen, calm down. I've got to go." I told her and she sighed and let me go.

Sonny returned with his laptop and just sat down. "Well, looks like everybody's relationship is going to shit." Todd commented trying to be funny.

"My relatioship isn't going to shit." I glared at him.

"Whoa, it was a joke." He commented. It was just so awkward now. "So what's new in the life of Skrillex?" Todd asked trying to make it less awkward.

"Same as always. Working and touring." Sonny commented and I could tell he was pissed.

"Let's trade lives for a week." Todd smirked.

"I'm going to pass." Sonny commented.

"Well I suppose I should get back to the human dragan that I live with. Buggie you ready?"

"I'll go grab her stuff." I went upstairs and collected all her belongings. I brought them back down to see both Todd and Sonny standing.

"Thanks again man." Todd patted Sonny on the shoulder.

"Let's go!" Lilly cheered.

"Hey! I don't get a goodbye?" I frowned at her. She raced over and I picked her up. I gave her a bunch of kisses on her cheek and she kept giggling.

"Bye baby!" I set her back down. She raced over and hugged Sonny's leg before running back to Todd.

"Thanks again." He said before grabbing her and throwing her over his shoulder. She just giggled and hit his back. As soon as they left I frowned.

"You're mad." I commented and crossed my arms.

"I'm not mad." He said but frowned.

"Yes you are." I commented under my breath but started cleaning up the table. He sat back down at his laptop and took his glasses off.

"We already cleared this up. I don't want to be dealing with it again." He rubbed his face and looked at his computer. "I've been waiting two days to have some alone time with you and now it's all shot to hell." He commented but didn't look up from his computer.

"Why's it shot to hell? I didn't bring it up."

"Well clearly you're still thinking about it." He mumbled and I glared at him.

"Why are you picking a fight right now?" I glared at him. "I've been looking forward to tonight all day and now you're just making me mad."

"Yeah, my bad." He said sarcastically.

"Alright, well I'll be upstairs if you ever decide to get over yourself." I mumbled and got up. I was walking into the bed room when I heard him bouncing up the stairs. I turned around just in time for him to grab my face and kiss me. He just pushed me backwards until the back of my knees hit the bed and I fell back.

About an hour and two rounds later I laid on my stomach clutching a pillow. The only sound that filled the room was our breathing. I watched him get out of bed and throw on a pair of boxers before leaving the room. I just sighed and closed my eyes. A few minutes later he returned and got back into bed only this time he had his laptop with him. I heard him clicking around again so I just closed my eyes and throught about falling asleep. That is until I heard a familiar beat coming out of his laptop. His remix of Cinema.

I opened my eyes and looked up at him. He was just staring back at me. I couldn't fight the smile on my face even if I tried. I propped myself up on elbow. "You know no matter what you songs you make, this will always be my favorite."

"Technically, it's not even my song." He corrected. I rolled my eyes.

"It's still my favorite." I told him.

"Well that's good because I can't hear it now without thinking about you." He said and lowered the volume a little.

"Good." I smirked at him and he glanced back at me. I put my head back down and got comfortable.

"I love you." He said and I smirked into the pillow.

"I know." I said with my eyes still closed. He gently shoved me and stopped the music. He closed his laptop and got up to put it down. When he got back in bed he practically climbed on top of me and plopped his head on a pillow. "You're squishing me." I mumbled into the pillow.

"Get over it." He said and I tried pushing him off me but it wasn't working since I was practically pinned. "How do you think I feel every night?" He asked and I snorted.

"I do not pin you down and squish you." I scoffed.

"Oh really?" He teased and I just rolled my eyes. He got off me and I turned so I could cuddle into his side. He closed his eyes and so did I. I tried to fall asleep but I couldn't get over Cara telling me that she slept with Joel.

"I can't get over Cara." I mumbled and I heard him sigh. Obviously he was actually trying to sleep.

"Well I see Joel in Vegas in like two weeks." He mumbled. I raised my head.

"I'm coming!" I screamed at him.

"Again? I mean I know I'm good, you don't have to keep inflating my ego." He teased and I slapped his chest a few times. "Ow!"

"I'm serious! I'm coming with!"

"Okay okay. Jeez." He mumbled. "Can we deal with this tomorrow? I'm fucking exhausted." He mumbled.

"Wus." I muttered and curled back up into his side.
