This is my answer from a Sunday Discussion of Elite Consortium. It was about how intellectually incompetent the youth nowadays are. I believe youth is becoming intellectually incompetent nowadays because of the things around them. They are influenced by society. Society has a great deal of role to them. If society is unpleasant it can wreak havoc on the youth's mentality. Instead of concentrating on their studies, they have it mixed up with doing things that can cloud up their minds. Make their peer groups and/or their close relatives as examples. As young as they may be, they are easily distracted and can change their perception easily.

In the case of schools, some teachers aren't even qualified to teach in the first place. They rely on books, obsolete ones and when students ask for clarification they can't even supply answers correctly. Another one is the students' unwillingness to study and learn at school instead they enjoy wasting their time playing with computer games. They don't know how to control their addiction. So in the end they can graduate from school lack of knowledge and end up wasting their life. Gone are those days when students are too terrified to disobey their parents.
