in life i had always told myself i could be in a situation that was 10 times worse, it was the only thing that made me happy or kept me sane in the lab all those years. it was the one thought that i relied on, not the people around me, not my siblings, not papa but a couple of words that most people would laugh at and call stupid. 

until

peter showed up with his perfect white uniform that never had a crease or stain and his signature smell that would overwhelm your senses in a good way. a scent that you would crave for the rest of the week, and you would search for it from the moment you woke up to moment you fall asleep.

but here i was with the same man but not in the same form, fighting off some weird invention that papa had made which was killing peter slowly and using him for his powers. i wanted to save him but i could feel my pulse slowing and my powers growing weaker. i looked back to the evil monster and screamed as i forced the last of my energy out of the tips of my fingers that were growing cold from the lack of blood circulation. a high-pitched noise joined the screaming, and my vision was soon taken over by darkness.

to some this image would look awful. a girl falling through the sky as the wind brushed through her hair as she plummeted towards the ground. but to them it was like watching an angel falling from heaven. It would be crazy to say that they were scared because that would be an understatement. They were more than scared, they were petrified.

The dust was swirling around in the air slightly blocking their vision. A sudden wind had picked up during the battle between vecna and y/n.

Suddenly it clicked to them that she was about to hit the ground and experience a gruesome death.  "el quick we need you!" Mike shouted to el who was laying in his arms. They had totally forgotten about vecna at this point. They all turned to y/n who suddenly stopped in mid air only about a metre away from the ground.

The dust in the air started to settle and they saw a majestic man walking towards them one hand in the air which they all presumed was the one stopping y/n from splatting on the ground. "oh god y/n" Eddie ran toward her and wrapped her up in his jacket.

She was normally a girl who was warm like a toasted marshmallow which was why she always reminded Eddie of fall and Halloween. But now she was as cold as ice. She didn't make you feel welcome or comfortable she made you feel scared and nervous.

Her body was met by another pair of hands. Peter. His body was also cold but not as cold as hers. Eddie and Peter looked up toward each other. Their eyes met and the only thought that ran through both of their minds was 'who is he'.

"GUYS QUICK WE NEED TO LEAVE" Robin shouted at them. The ground started to shake and the sky lit up as multiple strikes of lightning hit the ground around them. The thunder being so loud that they could barely hear Robin.

Eddie clasped onto y/ns body holding her bridal style as he ran towards the gate. Peter limping behind him.

"we need to be quick I think the gate is closing" hopper seemed to be right the gate looked smaller than it had when they got here. The vines where moving toward each other and the red glow was dying down.

"what are we supposed to do about y/n?" Peter asked. Them all being shocked as this was the first time they had heard him speak apart from el. "shes still breathing but she won't know that we are under water"eddie added his voice slightly trembling along with his body as the ground started to shake again.

"hold her nose. I'll jump in with you so we can both hold her to swim up faster" they both exchanged a nod.

"right go go go"

They started to jump through one by one occasionally getting trapped in the vines. It was now Robins turn. "I hate water" she whispered before jumping in. Before she knew it she was in the over world. She tried to kick her leg to swim up but a vine had clasped around it.

"what's taking her so long?" Steve looked down it the water from his boat. He was shivering as the cold air hit his body. "I don't know, she probably got nervous" Joyce reassured him along with a warming smile. She didn't want to show it but she was worried too. "you know how she is with water. She hates it" Dustin shouted over from his boat twisting his jacket over the water so the water would come out.

Robin could barely see her hand infront of her face from the cloudy water. She was scraping at the vine but it only made it tighter. She was running out of time her heart was starting to slow. She tried to scream but all it did was send a bubble of air rising to the top of the water.

At the top of the water the air suddenly popped up making the others jump. "you saw that too right" Steve was now stood up making his boat rock unsteadily. "um OK maybe now is the time to panic" before lucas could properly finish his sentence Steve had jumped in the water splashing them.

Steve swam towards the small glow which was a lot weaker than what it was earlier. Robis body was floating in the water. Her eyes closed no movement at all. He tried pulling her away but the vine around her ankle prevented him. He pulled out the pocket knife Dustin had luckily gifted him for his birthday which his ego stopped him from admitting it was a useful present, he popped out the knife and cut the vine which squirmed beneath the blade.

The other sat watching on edge not knowing whether Steve and Robin where dead. Suddenly their question was answered by Steve taking in a deap breath and placing her in the boat. He soon climbed in too giving her cpr. "come on Robin. DON'T LEAVE ME" the others watched eagerly.

Relief washed through them as they heard Robin cough up all the water. She hugged Steve as her vision cleared crying into his shoulder. "it that a tear Steve" Dustin teased him. "NO IT WATER" he shot back making the others slightly giggle.

"right flicker the light" Joyce said to will who held up the torch doing exactly what Joyce told him too.

Hopper, el, Eddie and Peter watched the torch in els hand waiting for it to flicker. They all let out a sigh of relief once it did. They turned towards the gate only to take that relief back in. "no no" hopper tried ripping the vines away but they joined back together blocking off the gate.

"wait" hopper moved out of the way and el tried using her powers to seperate them but it was no good. "let me try" Peter walked forward the ground crunching beneath his feet. He lifted his hand and once again the hole in the gate started to re appear. They saw that he was struggling buy his unsteady breathing and his face which was drained of colour.

He let out a grunt as he lowered his hand. The gate closing up again. "what are we supposed to do?" Eddie now looked back down to y/n who's normally red cheeks were pale. "the gate where chrissy died" el said. The memory making Eddie wince. But his face soon turned into a scared expression as the ground started to shake again.

"we need to be quick" hopper looked around for an opening in the woods. "well thanks for stating the obvious" Eddie whispered but somehow hopper had heard. "right listen here you cheeky prick. I'm currently saving you from a lot of jail time" he jabbed his finger into Eddie's chest causing him to move back slightly. Peter couldn't help but smile at what was happening in front of him.

They all stayed quiet as hopper leaded the way to Eddie's trailer. "hey hop-" he quickly lifted his hand to Eddie's face. "save...it" he spat out his words and just carried on walking.

They were all praying that the gate at Eddie's trailer was not closed. They did not know what happened to vecna nor did they care. The only thing they cared about right now was getting out of this place. But they knew now that vecna never had Peters powers he wouldn't be able to open a gate by himself.

"just through here" hopper opened the door and they where met by a sight that left them happy.

The gate was open but it didn't look like it was going to be open for long. The vines had started to pull together making the gate smaller.

"how are we going to jump through? We will just hurt ourselves" Eddie stated.

"I'll go first and put something there" hopper grabbed a chair and jumped through the gat landing on the other side with a thud.

"you OK" Eddie shouted. He was nervous. He needed this plan to work, y/n had not woken up yet so he needed to get her to a hospital. "we can't take her to the hospital. The lab are still after us" Peter said, Eddie giving him a confused look wondering how he knew what he was thinking. "how did yo-"

"I can tell by the way you are looking at her. You are worried and the hospital it the first thing you think of when someone is hurt" Eddie never knew Peter but he knew this wasn't the guy y/n had talked about.

"right" hopper grunted pulling the mattress just under/above the gate. "uuhh I don't know what those stains are" Peter gave Eddie a disgusted look and el was just confused. "yeah right. Save us from hearing the story" hopper place his hands on his hips with sass looking up to them.

The others were sat in complete silence. Will had signaled the light multiple times but there was no answer. "maybe the lights broken" lucas suggested instantly receiving a look from max that said are you stupid. "they would have come through. Well hopper would have" Joyce replied.

"HEY WHAT ARE YOU DOING" they were all caught off guard by someone shouting over at the edge of the lake. "I ORDER YOU TO COME OVER HERE OTHER WISE YOU WILL BE UNDER ARREST" they all started to row their boats back to shore sending nervous looks to each other.

"what are you doing out here at almost 3 in the morning ma'am" the officer spoke to Joyce as the kids kept a look out for the others. Nancy and Mike where on the look out on land and the others were on the look out in the water. Before they could find any trace of the others they were escorted by the officer and talked to the wheelers House.

"Let's go to maxs she will probably have a spare walkie there" they walked into maxs living room, Eddie placing y/ns limp body onto the couch. "is anyone there over" hopper was clasping onto the walkie like his life depended on it. Eddie and Peter were trying to wake y/n up and el was wrapping a bandana around her head.

"GOD DAMN IT ANSWER ME" hopper slammed the walkie down on the table making everyone jump. "what do you want?" the voice that only Peter and el didn't recognise blared from the walkie. Erica sinclair.

"Erica!?" hopper was more confused than ever. Why did Erica have a walkie? "Well who else would it be moustache?" she answered back with a load of sass as always. "where is lucas?" hopper was now getting impatient, his foot tapping on the floor. "I don't know. The last time I checked I didn't have a tracker on him"

"Erica please" hopper pinched the bridge of his nose, inhaling deeply. "Erica? Er- great she turned it off" once again he slammed the walkie on the table, the others confused on how it hadn't broken yet. Silence filled the room. "they are at Mike's" they where all caught off guard by els sudden words.

They were all soaking wet, it was way to cold to walk and y/n still hadn't woken up. Eddie stood up and parted from y/n and walked towards the window to look out.

"I have an idea"

OK guys this chapter is a lot longer than others we are approaching the end of the story which I why I'm making the chapters longer so this book doesn't end up with 100 chapters. But I hope you enjoyed. This one is around 2000 and the next one will be longer.
