Eddie felt someone watching him so he looked around. He saw y/n watching him and he sent a smile to her but she didn't respond. Her body was still like a statue. Eddie raised his hand waving to her as if he was trying to stop her from day dreaming. His stomach sank as he saw she was stiff and not her usual self. "guys!" everyone turned toward him stopping their inspections of the upside down. He slowly walked over to y/n slightly stumbling.

"shit" max mumbled. She grasped lucas' arm who squinted his eyes at the sudden pain.

"what's happening to her?" Joyce placed a hand on her shoulder looking at y/ns half closed eyes. "they aren't foggy so she can't be under the curse" eddie said the panic in his voice obvious. "I-I think she might be in the void" el suddenly spoke up.

"the what?" they all asked. She explained what it was but obviously not good enough as the looks on their faces showed that they didn't fully understand it.

"how do you get her out?" hopper was playing with his moustache nervously. "we can't she has to get herself out. But I don't know why she went there she had no need to"

"her heart rate is fast but not abnormally fast" Joyce then let go of y/ns wrist causing it to flop back down. "is there anyway of communicating with her?" max raised her eyebrows hoping that they could.

"y-" suddenly el was interrupted by y/n falling to the ground. Luckily Joyce was there in front of her to catch her so she didn't get hurt. She laid her down on the cold, dusty ground. "why are her eyes doing that" Steve blurted out.

Her eyelids where fluttering and her eyeballs where moving around rapidly. Suddenly a gasp left her mouth causing them all to jump and go stiff. "i think she's fighting him" el said nervously. Fear rushed over eddies face making his usual rosy cheeks go pale.

El held onto y/ns shoulder and closed her own eyes. "I can't go in" her voice filled with confusion. "this isn't y/ns doing I think this is vecnas". They where all scared now, they could only imagine what y/n was going through in there.

"guys" their attention all went back to y/n as she spoke. She was jerking like she was almost in pain. Her brows where furrowed and her breathing was fast. El leaned over y/ns face to hear what she was saying. "he's coming" her voice was full of stress and fear.

"he's coming" el and will suddenly said at the same time. They all rushed over to the boats, hopper carrying y/ns body. They made a Fort out of the boats so it shielded them. Y/ns body was still jerking. "its OK stay calm" hopper whispers running his hand over her hair.

I warned el and the others about vecna. But I still needed to get out of here so I could help protect them. I collapsed to the ground all my energy drained. I slapped the ground causing water to slash back up. Some droplets hitting my face that was already wet from tears. The only thing I could do was sit there with my thoughts.

A million questions ran through my mind.

How long had papa been planning this for?
If he never had Peter would have he sacrificed me?
Was Peter always in pain?
Peter is alive?

The last question sent a rush full of hope through me. It was the thing I needed to help me escape. Vecna was nothing but a ball off flesh that covered Peters body there had to be some way I could tear its flesh off of him.

I focused then suddenly I jerked my body up. I found myself in hoppers arms in a dark place. "oh thank god" I heard the relief in Robins voice.

"what's happening" I barely whispered. "vecnas coming so we are hiding" Steve shrugged his shoulders as if it was a good idea. "what. No...vecna showed me a vision. Well Peter did" I saw the look of confusion on some of their faces but I just carried on. "papa made vecna. Vecna is nothing but a ball of flesh he has taken over Peters body and is using his powers" I saw the shock on els face as I turned to her. "so we could just use our powers to save him?" I could see she was now understanding and putting it all together. "yes but it won't be easy" she nodded determinedly.

"whoa whoa. what are you doing?" hopper asked as I climbed out of his arms. it was a real struggle i still felt weak from what just happened but i knew me and el were our last hope to survive and escape this place and hopefully get peter back. 

"saving us" I simply stated as I crawled out of the small gap. the gravel under me dug into my hands reminding me of the pain that peter could possibly be going through. "what no. No way" i heard his coat ruffle as he tried to pull me back in but i dodged his hand. El soon climbed out too and we walked out onto the plain ground. "are you scared four?" she faced forward tears now welling in my eyes. Our hair whipping into our faces from the sudden strong wind. the thunder sending shivers down my spine which was soon joined by a sudden strike of crimson lightening. "I know you are by my side so not the slightest" I took in a deep breath. "Are you eleven?" she now turned her head to me and I felt her warm hand grasp my cold hand. "as long as I've got you not the slightest" she smiled a tear now falling from her eye.

this didnt feel like asking a normal question it was almost like a goodbye and i dont want that, i would do anything to avoid that. i looked above at the sky and shut my eyes, feeling the icy air fill my lungs waking me up properly from my trance.

I looked around to see if there was any sign of vecna. "what if this is a set up. What if he is trying to distract us from something bigger?" her head was now darting around to find any sighs.
"I'm sure Peter would have warned me" to be honest I wasn't sure if that was the truth. I didn't doubt Peter one bit but if vecna was as strong as he was making it out then he may have not had the strength to.

Suddenly there was a noise coming from above. It was a huge group of bats. My stomach sunk knowing vecna had sent them as a distraction. "JESUS H CHRIST" we both whipped our bodies around to see Eddie and the others helping us fight against the bat's so we could have our full attention on vecna.

Oh shit vecna.

I turned to see him walking out of the forest toward us. My blood boiled just by looking at him. Both myself and El got ready to fight taking in a deep breath. As he got closer I was confused on why he hadn't tried to attack us yet. I wasn't complaining but it was suspicious.

Suddenly me and El were pulled towards him the others soon running to us. My body felt as if huge weights were laid on it not only restricting my movement but my ability to breathe too. We both landed on the ground but got to our feet soon enough. Once I had got to my feet, I was face to face with vecna. So close I could feel his breath hit my face. it wasnt warm like a normal person it was cold almost like a soft wind. My body stiffened knowing he could kill me at any moment. El shot her hands into the air to try and throw him to the floor but he was faster causing El to go flying and land at Mike's feet.

"el  are you ok? answer me" there was no answer. how did this thing know our every move?

i looked back up to vecna. i just stared at him with no emotion, that was one way he overtook you was through your emotions. once he had a grasp of it, he could break down that wall that you spend so much time on building. he tilted his head letting out his husky breaths.

"you thought you could defeat me?" he let out a wheezy chuckle. "you can join me be part of my body in here with Peter" he raised one of his claws and tapped his head. "you will be there forever in your own world for a small price of your powers" he looked into my eyes. "no"

"no" he tilted his head to the side. "What do you mean no?"

"Do you not know the meaning of no you dumb son of a bitch" he pursed his lips at me suddenly raising his hand causing me to slowly lift into the air. There was a pressure around my throat causing me to struggle to breath.

I heard the others shouting but I couldn't do anything but stay there. My vision started to go blurry, my heart slowly thumping in my ears. "Peter please" i whispered. Lifting my hand towards vecna and tightening the grip around his throat. he was only a couple of feet away from e but i was able to see the similar ocean eyes stand out from the red flesh. for a moment i felt as if the grip loosened but it instantly tightened the air getting trapped in my throat again. i saw him lifting other arm towards me a great pain surging through my body causing me to let out a dreadful scream. 

i felt weaker than i had ever before. even after having to go through all those tests in the lab, fighting off those bats and even losing peter. i looked back down to the others and noticed we were higher than i thought. mike was gripping onto El whose facial expression I couldn't see from this far away. Joyce was holding onto hopper and the others were jumping and shouting my name. 

i was losing, i was about to let them all down and possibly die, even the thought made me sick to my stomach. i couldnt let it happen but i had no energy left in me and now that i couldnt breath at all it was making it worse. i was panicking and i needed to pull myself together and get a grip.
