We were heading back to mine and dustins to hide eddie in our house. But we were stopped by the police swarming the area once again. We got out of the car leaving Eddie in the trunk clueless.

"nance?" Steve ran up to a girl and embraced her in a hug. Dustin and max going over to ask what had happened. Me and robin stayed by the car to guard it. "so do those two have history, something or are they together" she laughed.

"to be honest I'm not really sure" we both nodded agreeing that there must be something still there.

We all made it back to mine and dustins, Nancy following us in her car. Once we got to my room she explained to us what happened, and we explained to her the exact same thing happened to chrissy.

"there's something shady going on here. They both were seeing miss Kelly. Maybe there's a hint in her office or something?" she paced at the end of my bed. "well it's not like we can go up to her and be like can we see the files of the two kids who were brutally murdered" Nancy said letting out a sigh.

"we don't need to ask her" I lifted up her office keys. "when I was in the lab I got into the habit of collecting keys in case I ever needed to get into those rooms" I smiled proudly.

"what lab?" Nancy asked and the others explained.

We arrived at the school and by now it was dark. Eddie was wearing one of mom's coats which hid his face and distinctive hair. I opened one of the locked doors with my powers and we snuck in heading to miss Kelly's office. I opened the door and let them in but Nancy and Eddie stayed outside on the lookout, shutting the door behind me. "there files must be in here somewhere?" Steve said looking through the drawer with max.

"got chrissy's" max lifted the file into the air. "got Fred's" Steve soon added. Max searched through them at the desk while we were on look out.

"how you getting on max?" there was no answer. "max?" he walked over to her. "guys whats happening?" I turned back to see max in a trance like state. "MAX!?" I hurried over to her. Steve was shaking her. "is she having a seizure or something?" Robin asked. "I- I don't think so" at this point Steve's voice was shaking.

she walked down the creepy hallways. Shining her torch around. every step she took echoed around the empty halls, the eery feeling sending shivers down her spine. she turned around a corner met by a corridor with a grandfather clock embedded into the wall. a frown plastering across her face. she walked closer watching as the pendulum swung side to side. suddenly it let out a loud chime causing her to let out a gasp. her breathing started to speed up as the fear filled her body. "MAX" a deep voice echoed the halls.

Suddenly max snapped back to reality. "Max. Y-you OK" Steve said trying to act cool as if he wasn't just shitting himself. "pass me my file" we all looked at her confused. "NOW" Steve rushed to get it and passed it to her.

"well why we are here I might as well take my file" I went over to the cabinet and took mine.

"i have vecnas curse" max said out of nowhere. My heart sinking to my stomach. "what"

"that thing that just happened. Fred and chrissy were experiencing things like it too" she explained what happened to her and what she saw but the thing she was mostly terrified of was what she heard. "that's why chrissy came to me for the drugs" eddie said scaring me as I didn't know him and Nancy had come into the room. "they had heard the clock chime a certain amount of times before...it happened to them and if my calculations are right, I have like less than 24 hours left" a tear left my eye and streamed down my cheek.

Just then we heard something in the hallway which made eddie flinch. "shh" Steve placed a finger on his lips then grabbed the lamp from the corner. He walked out into the hallway; we all followed him carefully. Suddenly lucas came out from around the corner. Steve went to swing at him but I stopped the lamp just inches from Lucas' face.

"WHoa dude" he instantly lowered his voice. "jesus sinclaire"
"sorry sorry" his breathing was quick.

"I'm here to warn you. Jason is after eddie. He's planning on killing him. He thinks that Eddie took part in some stupid satanic ritual, but I think it has something to so with the upside down"

"yeah no shit" I replied

just then there was the sound of a door shutting. "its not safe here, i have a basement we can hide out in and discuss things there" we all nodded sharing scared looks to each other. 

We woke up from a pretty rough night's sleep. We had been up until 1am trying to think of ways to protect max but we couldn't think of any good ones.

"right I figured out a plan" Nancy's voice boomed. I was going to say it's too early for this but I felt like it would be a bit selfish. So I got up ready to hear her plan. After she explained it to us I finally had hope that we could save max. But the clock was ticking, quite literally. We decided the plan was good only because it was our last hope. Once Nancy and robin had left, me, lucas, Dustin and Steve sat on the couch watching max sat writing in the corner.

"do you know what she's doing?" Steve asked. "not a clue" Dustin and lucas replied. "she's writing letters to her loved ones" I said turning to face away from them so i could hide the waterfall of tears that where now flowing down my cheeks leaving a salty taste in my mouth.

It just wasn't fair max didn't deserve this. why was vecna doing this? Just then eddie came out of the bathroom interrupting my thoughts. "finally why did you take so long to pee" lucas got up from the couch. "sorry I had almost 2 days worth of pee in my bladder" he said sarcastically.

"what!!?" me, dustin and Steve said in a mix between shock and disgust. "I couldn't flush the toilet the neighbours would hear" he said which was the shittiest excuse ever. But we shifted our focus back to max.

Max suddenly got up and we all pretended to be occupied so she didn't know we were staring. She handed us each a letter. "NO. Dont open them yet. I don't want the embarrassment" she said which caused us to all place our letters on the table. She started heading to the door with another letter in her hand. "Where do you think your going?" Steve asked her.

"to the car so you can take me somewhere" she said like it was obvious.

"uh no way" his babysitter mode kicking in. "uh yes way. I have a pretty good lawyer you know" me and Eddie looked at each other trying not to laugh because we knew Steve was going to lose this argument. "Ugh fine".

I passed Eddie the coat which I felt bad that he had to wear because it was scorching outside, and he also had to go in the trunk of the car.  We didn't have to travel far to get to the destination but when we did, we were surrounded my graves.

She insisted that we stay in the car so she could have a moment and agreed that if we took too long then we could go and see if she was ok. she walked out of sight over the hill, leaving us all on edge. "Any updates from Nancy and robin?" I asked Dustin and he shook his head. "i hope that thing has batteries" steve points at dustins walkie. which in return dusting gives him a death stare. "how long has it been?" lucas asks as he knee bounced. "Almost 2 minutes" i answer. it felt like the longest two minutes of my life. i was constantly checking my watch and peering out of my window trying to get a glimpse of max. 

it had now been 5 minutes and i was starting to get worried. "guys im going to go and check on max" steve gets out of the car and within seconds we hear him shouting. we all jump out of the car including eddie. "shit, SHIT IT'S HAPPENING" dusting shouts as he goes back to the car for his walkie. "nancy, robin please we need your help hurry up" we could hear dustin shouting back at the car. "its no use guys i tried everything with chrissy" eddies eyes were starting to well as he was getting flashbacks from what happened at the trailer. "max please, we need you" i never gave up. my throat burning from how much i was shouting. suddenly dustin came running over with max's Walkman and some different songs. 

"Music we need music, what's her favourite song?" dustin asked as steve frantically searched the pile of songs.

"kate bush, uumm" lucas was thinking about which song it was exactly. 

"Running up that hill" i quickly grabbed it and put it on. steve slid the headphones over her ears just as she started floating into the air. "shit shit" eddie was panicking which was causing him to become angry. "MAX?!!???" we were all shouting. i had never seen any of them this scared. suddenly max came plummeting to the ground. lucas was quick to hold her in his arms. i wasnt thinking straight and hugged the person i was closest to. eddie. to my surprise he didnt pull away we just sobbed into each other's shoulders.
