Stun or Be Stunned

This suggestion was given to me by my sister BlackCat2907. Thanks so much! This is a Slice of Life/random skit, BTW. Sorry if it's not that good. Now, on with the story!

"Nice block, kid. You've gotten stronger the last time we met." Nerezza said, crashing her lightsaber into Ezra's.

"Thanks. You're not bad yourself, Nerezza." Ezra said.

It was an early morning on Atollon, and Kayla and Nerezza were staying with the Rebels and I for a while. Right now, Ezra and Nerezza were having a friendly sparring session with one another, while Kanan, Kayla, and I watched from afar.

This is the first time Ezra had trained with someone other than me or Kanan, and this is good practice when Nerezza's ready to faceΒ one of us.

"So, did you guys run into Nerezza's parents when you were on Umbara?" I asked, glancing at Kayla.

"Believe it or not, NEREZZA wanted to seek them out," Kayla said.

"Really?" Kanan asked.

"Truly. She realized that with each passing day, her family was suffering from the loss of her. She wanted the suffering to stop, and it did."

I turned my attention back to Nerezza as she collided her lightsaber with Ezra's. A smile soon found its way on my face.

I'm glad Nerezza's turning her life around. As a Master with my own Padawan, I'm proud of her...

After a few minutes, Nerezza pointed her lightsaber at Ezra, who was on the ground, to claim her victory.

"Checkmate, kid." she said, deactivating her weapon.

"Good win." Ezra complimented.

Nerezza extended a hand to her fallen friend and Ezra gladly took it to bring himself up.

"That was an amazing battle, you two. Nerezza, you've really got the basic forms down pat." I said walking up to her.

"Thanks, Zelara. I've got my great Master to thank for that." Nerezza said, eyeing Kayla.

Kayla breathed out a chuckle and smiled.

"I would love to battle either one of you three, but I know I've still got a lot of training to do before I'm able to hold my own up against you guys." Nerezza said.

Nerezza's words brought a smile to all our faces.

Unlike Ezra, Nerezza knows and openly admits that she's not ready and that she needs more training.

"You know, I'm always here to lend you a hand so you can take Kanan and Zelara a peg or three." Kayla said.

"Hey!" Kanan and I exclaimed.

Kayla laughed and shook her head in amusement. I looked up the Atollon sky and sighed.

I love having days off, but I also hate them, because I never know what to do...

"Hey, guys!" cried a voice behind us.

We turned around and saw Sabine running towards us.

"Hey, Sabine. Everything alright?" Kayla asked.

"Yes, and it's going to get even better after you hear my amazing idea." Sabine said.

What the Mandalorian said caught everyone's attention.

"What's this amazing idea of yours?" Ezra asked.

"I was thinking we have a little friendly competition, just between us," Sabine began.

"Go on..." Nerezza said, sounding intrigued.

"It'll be something like our paintball royale we had last time, but everyone's against each other; no teams whatsoever."

"Wait, you guys had a paintball royale?" Kayla asked.

"It's a long story." Kanan said.

"Why wasn't I invited?"

"Sorry Kay." I said.

"It was really fun." Ezra said.

Kayla scoffed and crossed her arms, a small smile starting to form on her face.

Knew she couldn't stay mad forever.

"So, what are the rules?" Nerezza asked.

"Instead of paintball guns, we'll be using these," Sabine said, taking out two blasters.

"Blasters? No offense but shooting one another doesn't sound all that fun to me." I said.

"They're not ordinary blasters, Zel."

Sabine aimed one of the blasters at a nearby boulder and fired at it. Out came a ball of electricity.

"A stun blaster? Now, that sounds like fun." Nerezza said.

"So, this competition is going to be us just shooting each other with stun bullets?" Ezra asked.

"Might as well make this day less boring. What do you say?" Sabine asked.

The others and I looked at one another and nodded. We looked back at the Mandalorian and smiled.

"We'd be more than happy to play, Sabine." I said.

Sabine nodded with a competitive smile.

"Are there any rules to make this game fair?" Kanan asked.

"Not really. This is a free-for-all competition. Anything goes," Sabine said.

"Wait. Does that mean we can use the Force?" I asked.

"To your enjoyment and my dismay, yes."

I couldn't stop the excited grin on my face from growing.

"I'm surprised you actually want to participate in this competition, Kanan." I said, turning to the blind Jedi.

"What? Just because I can't see, doesn't mean I don't have perfect aim. Besides, I can use the Force this time. Makes things a lot more interesting." Kanan said, crossing his arms.

I huffed out a chuckle and shook my head.

Still competitive as ever...

"So, when do we begin?" Kayla asked.

After a while of preparing, the six of us were scattered around the base, waiting for the signal to start. When I saw a red flare ascended into the sky, I ran from behind some crates and started looking for the stun blasters Sabine scattered around the base.

This is going to be so much fun, especially now that I can use the Force.

My eyes soon spotted a blaster on top of a tall crate. When I took a step forward, it felt like my body was frozen in place.

"What in the-?" I questioned.

Sensing a presence behind me, I let out a sigh and let a smile form on my face.

"Should've known you'd be the first to use the Force, my dear Padawan." I said.

"You know me well." he said.

I looked to my side and saw Ezra with his hand stretched out. I scoffed and let my smile grow.

"You often forget that you're not the only Force wielder here on Chopper Base," I said.

"How can I forget when I have you and Kanan training me each day?" Ezra asked.

"Still, my connection with the Force surpasses yours in so many ways than one, so holding me in place won't do anything."

I mustered up all my willpower and was able to break free from Ezra's hold. Ezra stepped back in shock. Reaching my hand out to the blaster, it floated down from the crate and landed in my hand.

"I'll be nice and give you a ten-second head-start." I said, cocking the blaster.

Ezra smiled and sprinted the opposite way. Counting down in my head, I aimed my blaster at my Padawan and fired a stun bullet. I watched as the bullet gave Ezra a good shock.

"You'll pay for that, Zelara June!" Ezra called out.

"We'll see about that, Ezra Bridger!" I called back.

Shaking my head with a grin on my face, I walked out of the supply depot and made my way to the command center.Β

That kid is nothing but trouble sometimes, I swear. One of the more reasons why I love him as my little brother...

Upon my arrival, I felt a familiar presence and quickly ducked behind some equipment.

Kayla... Knowing her, she's probably using the Force illusion technique to scout out certain areas. I think I'll join her...

Connecting with the Force, I made five copies of myself.

"Survey the rest of the base. The supply depot, cargo hold, ship docks, everywhere. Stun any player you see." I said.

The illusions nodded and dispersed around the rest of the base, undetected, luckily. Standing up, I readied my weapon and started making my way out of the command center. When I saw Kayla, I fired a stun bullet at her. My eyes widened when the bullet made Kayla disappear.

Karabast...!

I then felt a jolt of electricity from behind me. Turning around, I saw my Umbaran friend.

"You sure are sneaky." I said.

"I was trained to be an assassin. What'd you expect?" Nerezza asked, cocking her weapon.

Not wanting to give her the satisfaction of stunning me again, I sprinted away from Nerezza with a wide grin on my face.

"Get back here, June!" Nerezza cried.

"Not a chance!" I called back.

You could practically hear Nerezza's smile.

To my surprise, I didn't even notice that I ran all the way to the Ghost.

Perfect place to ambush the others...

To my enjoyment, I spotted a stun blaster on top of the Ghost. When I was about to use the Force to get it down, I felt a presence nearby instead.

Guess Kanan had the same idea...

Since we could sense one another, getting away from him won't be easy. I let a sly smile form on my face when the perfect idea popped into my head. Not wasting a second more, I created another Force illusion. Gesturing my head upwards, my illusion nodded and disappeared behind the Ghost.

I think I can slip away now...

Trusting my instincts, I quickly sprinted away from the Ghost. To my relief, Kanan didn't fire at me; probably too occupied with my Force illusion. I slowed down my pace when I arrived at the ship docks.

"It's quiet... Too quiet..." I mumbled.

As I was walking around the base, I saw Hera and walked up to her.

Not too surprised I'd see Captain Hera Syndulla at the ship docks. She's the Rebellion's best pilot. She's Phoenix Leader for crying out loud!

"Hey, Hera." I said.

The Twe'lik turned around to the sound of her name. She greeted me with her kind smile.

"Hey, Zelara. Everything alright?" she asked.

"Yeah... You haven't seen Kayla, Sabine, or Ezra around, have you?" I asked.

"You just missed Sabine. She said she was heading towards the supply depot, but Kayla and Ezra, I'm not sure."

"Great! Thanks, Hera!"

Waving goodbye, I made my way back to the supply depot. I soon stopped in my tracks when a thought dawned on me. I walked back over to the Twe'lik with a stern look.

"Just a thought. Did Sabine tell you what the others and I were doing?" I asked.

"No, why?" Hera asked.

"Did she tell you to tell either me, Ezra, Nerezza, Kanan, or Kayla that if we ask you where she is, she told you to tell us that she was heading towards the supply depot?"

Hera looked at me with the most puzzled look I have ever seen.

"Okay, what are you talking about? Sabine just told me that she was heading to the supply depot when I asked. Nothing more, nothing less." she said.

Feeling her emotions, her words were sincere and true.

"Alright..." I said.

"I'm contemplating whether or not to ask you what you're doing," Hera said with a smile.

"Well, to save you from any crossfire, the others and I are having a friendly, free-for-all competition using stun blasters."

"Not the weirdest thing I've heard today, but at least you guys are doing something to pass the time. Is Zeb participating?"

"Sadly, no. Knowing him, he would've loved to be a part of this."

"Well, good luck."

Nodding to my friend, I sprinted off to the supply depot.

Kind of surprised Hera never caught a whiff of what we were doing...

Once I arrived at the supply depot, all I heard was stun bullets. Force jumping on top of a crate, I saw the others shooting each other; all hiding behind crates.

I'm a huge target if I keep standing up here. Maybe my illusions and I should join the fray...

With that in mind, I created two copies of myself. Jumping down from the crate, I aimed at one of my friends and fired the stun bullet. The lone bullet caught the attention of the others.

"Nice of you to finally join us." Ezra said, firing at me.

I smiled and stopped the bullet with the Force. I looked at the small ball of electricity and started spinning it on my finger.

"Kind of rude to not tell me we were having an all-out war," I said, flicking the bullet away.

"Didn't know you were the type to get hands dirty, Zel." Sabine said.

"There are a lot of things you don't know about me..."

I aimed my blaster at my Mandalorian friend and fired a stun bullet. If anything, that just signaled the others to continue. I quickly hid behind a crate before I could get stunned.

I'm glad the supply depot is so big. You can really lose someone, or yourself, in here.

Hearing stun bullets drawing near my position, I quickly ran from my hiding spot and jumped on top of a crate to get the high ground.

"Guess I'm not the only one wanting to get the high ground." said a voice next to me.

I turned to my side and saw Nerezza with a confident grin on her face. Mimicking her grin, I wasted no time firing at my Umbaran friend. I watched in shock as the bullet dispersed into nothing but sparks of electricity when it collided with Nerezza's chest.

"Have you already forgotten about my cortosis armor?" Nerezza scoffed.

"I honestly did." I admitted sheepishly.

In the blink of an eye, Nerezza cocked her blaster and fired multiple stun bullets at me. Holding out my hand, I was able to hold the bullets in place before they could touch me.

"Thought you would do that." Nerezza said.

Once I gave her a puzzled looked, I felt electricity begin to course through my veins. Turning around, I saw my Padawan wearing a cocky grin.

"Told you you'd pay for that." Ezra said.

I smiled at the kid and huffed out a chuckle.

"I thought catching the opponent by surprise was Sabine's thing." I said.

"It is." said a familiar voice.

Ezra let out a surprised cry when he felt a jolt of electricity. Ezra looked upward to see Sabine standing on top of a crate over her friend.

Now's my chance...!

Aiming at Sabine, I flicked one of the stun bullets I had floating in place at her. Sabine must've seen it coming because she gracefully dodged the bullet effortlessly.

"Don't forget about us." said a voice behind me.

I turned around to see Kayla and Kanan aiming their blasters directly at Sabine and me. With a cocky grin, I extended my hand towards my two Jedi friends and watched as the floating bullets rushed over to them. Then, without warning, the two of them ignited their lightsabers and allowed the blades to absorb the bullets.

"Hey, that's not fair!" Sabine said.

"If I recall, YOU'RE the one who said anything goes," Kanan said.

"And using lightsabers DEFINITELY classifies as anything goes, wouldn't you agree Kanan?" Kayla asked.

"I would."

Rolling my eyes, I aimed my blaster at Kanan and fired a stun bullet at him.

"That's not going to work, Z." Kanan said, letting his blade absorb the bullet.

"So what? You're right where I want you." I said.

I then watched as Kanan was hit with a jolt of electricity from behind. He turned around to see one of my Force illusions.

"Using Force illusions classify as anything goes as well." I said.

With that, the supply depot was filled with stun bullets and happy laughter. The game went on until evening. We all walked back to the Ghost with wide grins on our faces.

"Had a good time?" Hera asked as we drew near.

"Definitely." Ezra said.

"Absolutely." Nerezza said.

The rest of us just nodded.

"Well, next time tell me what you guys are doing," Hera said.

"Thinking about playing with us?" Kanan asked.

"Maybe..."

We all laughed as we walked aboard the Ghost.

Well, at least none of us can say that this day wasn't fun...

I AM SO SO SO SO SO SORRY FOR NOT POSTING! My father is in rehab and I'm extremely worried about him...
That's why I was away for so long...
Just, please pray for him. I already lost my mother, I don't want to lose my father as well...

Other than that, shoutout to my sister BlackCat2907, for giving me this suggestion. Sorry if isn't that good. But I still had fun making this.Β Suggestions are forever open. May the Force be with You!
