Those Blue Eyes (Chappy 2)

Pic on the side is Christie!!! This is exactly how I imagined her xD Comment!!! Vote!!!--------->>>>

"Thank God for Facebook." I muttered as I closed my laptop. I was terrified that I was going to be alone when I finally went to school, but I remembered that my friend Christie moved out here a few years back. With a few inbox messages, I was meeting with her at Starbucks.

I threw on a pink shirt that had a cute white bunny face on it. I ended up giving in to the California heat and paired that with some short shorts, a pair of gray Converse, my pink tinted sunglasses, and a pale pink handbag.

I trotted down the stairs and found my mom in the kitchen attempting to cook. "Mom." I stated blandly. "Please stop trying to poison Tom with your intoxications. I swear your cooking should be illegal in all 50 states and Canada."

"Ha, ha! Thanks for the compliment." My mom scoffed.

I wrapped my arms around her waist and rested my head on her shoulder. "Can I borrow your car?" I asked pouting my bottom lip.

My mom stopped stirring what I'm assuming to be her miserable attempt at mashed potatoes and turned to me with her hands on her hips. "And just where are you going?"

"To meet with Christie. I might as well make the most out of the time I'm here." I shrugged.

My mom sighed and handed me the keys out of her pocket. I jumped up and down in joy and kissed her on the cheek. I grabbed the keys before she had a chance to go back on her word.

I hopped in her all black Sequoia and pushed the keys in the ignition. When the engine revved to life I put the car in drive and pulled out of the driveway.

It felt nice to be on the road again. The only thing I didn't like was the fact that being in a truck meant I was towering over everyone's cars. Despite that, I let myself enjoy driving considering I wouldn't get to that often. All because my dumb dad decided I need to understand what 'true punishment' is. So he decided to keep my car until I learned some discipline.

I was too busy being angry about my car to notice that I was already at my destination. I found a parking spot and entered the Starbucks building. It was filled with college students on their laptop who looked not only extremely overwhelmed, but also extremely bored. I scanned all the tables and noticed a quirky blond sipping a mocha and endlessly flirting with a college student that didn't seem the least bit interested. Yup! That's Christie for you.

I quietly walked close to her and brought my mouth down to her ear. I made sure to whisper delicately and enunciate clearly. "You are pathetic."

Christie nearly jumped out of her seat in shock. She turned around and clutched her chest when she realized it was only me. "Rose!" She yelled, still in shock. A few people inside the store shushed her but she just flipped them off and continued about her business.

She seemed to get over her previous anger very quickly seeing as before I could blink she had me crushed against her in a tight hug.

         Air." I gasped desperately.

Christie let go and smiled at me. "I'm sorry, I just can't believe you're really here."

"Neither can I," I mumbled, taking a seat at the table right in front of her.

"So how do you like California?"

"I've been here four days and this is the first time I've left the house. I feel like such a social alien."

"That's no good. How about you cone to a beach party with me tonight! I can introduce you to all my friends and you can see Cali's best attribute."

I thought about it for a second before deciding that it seemed like a cool idea. Christie and I made the arrangements and I was on my way home to dig through my closet to find my hottest bikini.

*~~*

Lights flashing, music roaring, people dancing, drinks pouring; Talk about my kind of party.

"I'm surprised you actually agreed to this." Christie stated, creeping up behind me. "Last time I saw you, you were a goodie-two-shoes who thought parties were a waste of time."

"Yeah well people change." I replied stalking into the crowd of dancing teenager. I easily meshed together with them and made my way to the drink booth.

As I walked through the crowd, I noticed that the party was Hawaiian style. It was a full on California adaptation of a luau with coconut drinks, Leis, and I even spotted a few girls with grass skirts.

I leant against the bar and smiled sexily the guy assigned to man the bar. I figured if I flirted with the bartender I might be able to get a few free drinks. And the fact that he was insanely gorgeous helped.

"Can I get a sex on the beach?" I asked seductively.

A knowing smirk appeared on the bartender's face as he easily made my drink. He mixed the necessary ingredients to make my drink together and watched me as he poured it in a tall glass. He balanced an orange on the rim of the cup, and he placed a yellow hibiscus on the side before sliding it towards me. "On the house." He stated with a wink.

I suppressed a laugh and smiled at him. I love knowing that guys are easily manipulated by a girl's charm. I took a long sip of my drink and sat it down on the bar. Before the bartender could create conversation or convince me to stay, I merged with the crowd of people dancing and took it upon myself to sway my hips to the rhythm of the music.

As I danced carelessly, a pair of painfully blue eyes caught my attention. I rolled my hips in a circular motion and eyed him carefully. He continued to stare at me even as some beach blond Barbie begged for his attention. As the bass continued to blast we stared at each other, neither of us wanting to break eye contact.

My vision became altered when Christie suddenly appeared in front of me. I looked around her head hoping to catch a glance at the mysterious blue eyed boy. I blew a raspberry when I realized he was no longer in the spot he was in before.

"And just who are you looking for?"

"Huh?" I asked unable to make a coherent sentence. Christie's question caught me off guard.

"You heard me. You keep looking for someone."

I waited a moment before answering. "Well there's this guy-"

         "I knew it!" she interrupted.

I sent her a stern look and she apologized. "Anyway, I keep seeing this guy. He has these crazy blue eyes. Like Pensacola beach water in the middle of the summer blue. He has shaggy brown hair that falls just above his eyes and the way his trunks hugged his hip bones was freaking hot!" I was surprised that I let myself get so in depth about his appearance. I don't usually get worked up over guys like this. "For some strange reason I keep seeing him, and when we make eye contact, neither of us wants to break it first.

"OMG! You're talking about Vincent LeClaire. He is like the hottest guy to ever hit the face of the earth. I can't believe you guys have chemistry." She squealed.

"First of all," I started. "The last thing we have is chemistry. I don't get that with guys. And second of all, if we did have chemistry why would that be so amazing."

"My dear Rosalie. I can see you're going to need my Vincent LeClaire tutoring session." she gave me false sympathy and patted my shoulder slightly. "Vincent LeClaire is not only extremely rich and beautiful, but he is a major player. Every girl at my school is madly in love with him and he's proud of it. He flaunts a new girlfriend every week and then by Sunday, he's thrown them out like last week's garbage."

"That's why I don't have chemistry with guys. I could never get dumped. I need to be the one doing the dumping. Besides love is stupid."

"So you don't believe in love?"

I squinted my eyes and looked into the distance. "Love is something the mind makes up to make you believe that you're happy. In reality the person who claims to love you will leave you at one point, you'll be all alone. You will have to face all that pain by yourself because you were abandoned when you needed someone most."

After that Christie didn't bring up the topic of love again, and for that I was grateful. I didn't need a constant reminder of the past. Even without every one bringing it up, I always relive that memory. I've tried to forget, I really did, but some things are impossible to let go of. Sadly, this was one of those things.

So I finally posted! Yay me!

Well if you read the note that was in place of the second chapter you'd know why it took so long for me to post.

Anywhoo, Bad news. I'm back in school and in order for me to go to the boarding school of my choice next year, I have to give 110% so I'll only post on weekends. If I have some extra time and the comments and votes are up to par I might post a short chapter every 3 days.

No one is probably reading this so I'll stop rambling. Feel free to leave your opinion. Constructive criticism is great. If you see any mistakes, point them out -__-

P.S. I bet none of you can guess what is haunting her. If someone can guess it correctly then I'll dedicate the chapter where I reveal the shocking secret to them.

RANDOM MOMENT OF RANDOMNESS:

If you do not vote or comment, cheese lizards will sneak into your house and not only eat the aglets on your right shoelace, but also hack your face book and tell everyone that you have sex with chickens and they can watch for a small fee...
