Being Trapped Isn't That Bad (1+9=19)

No POV

Vincent and Rose wandered the island and managed to find a small cave. Thanks to Vincent's knowledge from being a boy scout when he was ten, the two were able to start a fire. And the fact that Rose had a match in her back pocket, helped too.

"What if no one finds us?" Rose wondered aloud. She was starting into the fire, but thoughts of never being rescued ran through her mind.

"Don't say that. I bet they are looking for us as we speak." Vincent reassured her.

        "You're right. I'm just paranoid."

"Being trapped on an island isn't all that bad. At least we have a cave and a fire. Plus we found these bananas." Vincent mused, holding up the bushel of bananas he'd tripped over while they were searching for some shelter.

"Yeah, this cave actually brings back memories."

Vincent raised his eyebrow. "How so?"

Rose was reluctant to share this story with Vincent. She wasn't sure how he'd react, but a part of her was aching to tell him. She felt like she could trust him.

She leaned her back against the cave wall and looked Vincent in the eyes. "I lost my virginity in a cave."

A lump formed in Vincent's thought as he imagined Rose lying on her back in a cave, writhing in pleasure. And somehow, he managed to imagine himself on top of her. He shook the image out of his mind. Right now was definitely not the time to be thinking of something like that.

"I was a freshman, and my boyfriend and I were on a date in the mountains. It was the middle of winter and I can still remember the chill of the air that day. My boyfriend set up this nice warm picnic for us at the mouth of a cave. We were originally just supposed to cuddle, drink hot chocolate, and watch the snow fall. But as I looked into his eyes. I saw something. It possessed me."

Rose brought her knees to her chest and smiled. "I saw love. He was in love with me and at that moment I felt like I was in love with him too. I wanted to give myself to him and show him how I felt about him. I wanted to join together as one. I gave myself to him thinking that he loved me. I was wrong. So very wrong."

After a long silence Vincent willed himself to speak. "What was his name?"

Rose contemplated lying to him. Even if she did, he'd eventually find out. There was no use in lying. She still couldn't shake the feeling that they were going to die on this island. Why not tell him the truth? She looked him dead in the eyes and spoke the name that she hated so dearly, as a single tear fell down her cheek. "Jace."

Vincent was in shock. He didn't know how his friend could do something like that. He always knew Jace was an ass, but when it came to women, Jace always took a different route. Unlike Vincent, Jace didn't have a reputation of destroying the hearts of more than half of the female population of their high school. All the girls who were with Jace always bragged about how nice he treated them. If Vincent was so good looking and such a smooth talker, Jace would definitely have him beat.

Suddenly Vincent felt angry. As he watched tears calm down Rose's face, he wanted to beat the bastard that had caused her such pain, but he couldn't. Right now he needed to soothe Rose. To stop her from crying and to make the pain go away. He moved across the cave until he was sitting beside her. He pulled her into his lap with ease and wiped the tears from her face.

"Shhh." He cooed. He placed a gentle kiss on Rose's lips to calm her.

As the sparks that usually appeared when Vincent and Rose kiss began, and idea swam through Vincent's mind. His eyes darkened, and a familiar heat coursed through his body. He stared deeply in her eyes before speaking.

"I want to make you forget."

Those six words sent Rose's body on fire. She bit her lip and resisted the urge to moan at the lust in Vincent's voice. She had no idea what had gotten into her, but something made her want to suddenly fill Vincent's request.

She slammed her lips onto his and immediately the battle for dominance began. Rose quickly lost as Vincent nibbled on her bottom lip for entry and she happily granted it. She moaned as she felt his hands begin to travel from her hips up her side.

For once she was grateful that she was in nothing but a mere bathing suit and some shorts. She felt herself being placed on her back and Vincent broke the kiss to trail kisses down her neck. Wanting to rid themselves of their few barriers of clothing, Rose started untying the strings on Vincent's swim trunks. At the same time. Vincent had busied himself with untying the knot on Rose's bikini top.

Before Rose could shove her hand down Vincent's shorts like she had planned, they were interrupted by the sound of someone's throat clearing. Vincent and Rose froze as they heard Jessica's icy voice. "I found them. The two were having sex in a cage."

Rose tied her bikini strap back in place and walked towards Jessica and Jace. "We were not, and what are you doing here?"

"Looking for you." Jace spoke up. "We've been searching the entire beach. You're lucky we found this cave on the far side of the beach."

"So you mean we're still on the beach?" Vincent sighed, fixing his trunks. He was trying to adjust himself so his "situation" wasn't noticeable.

"Duh. Did you think you guys washed up on an island somewhere?" Jessica asked.

Vincent and Rose shared awkward glances before rolling their eyes. "Of course not." They responded simultaneously.

"Well come on. Christie made dinner and refused to let anyone eat unless we found you two." Jace said.

Rose nodded and headed out the cave sparing one last glance at Vincent.

As Vincent exited the cave, he made sure to bump Jace's shoulder hard. "Dude! What's your problem?" Jace asked angrily.

Vincent didn't reply in fear of lashing out at Jace. He wasn't sure why he was so angry. He knew it was partly because Jace had caused Rose pain in the past, and partly because Jace had never told him of their encounters, but something told him that his anger was deeper than that. Like he was spawning anger from the fact that Jace had the opportunity to love Rose, and he neglected it.

He knew Rose was a sweet girl. Despite their bet, he could honestly tell there was more to their relationship than just some game. Even if Rose didn't want to believe it, something was forming between the pair. Something that was unknown to both of them.

Rose was just as confused as Vincent. She had no idea why she suddenly had the urge to jump Vincent's bones. Thank God Jessica and Jace had found them, or else Rose could have possibly went all the way with Vincent.

The thought was sparking a million questions in her mind. What was she really feeling? What was this need to be in Vincent's arms? Why did every time she look in his eyes, she felt herself losing the game bit by bit?

Those were all questions Rose wanted and answer to, but quite frankly, she was scared. She'd never felt like this before. Not even with Jace. This feeling was so new to her. She had no idea how she was going to share a bed with Vincent and not screw his brains out. Self-control is definitely something she was going to have to practice from now on.
