Third Person's POV-

When Robin Van de Kamp woke up on the morning of a fine Friday beside his wife of twenty-eight years, he predicted that it would be a good day. And why shouldn't he? The sun was bright in the sky, the air was cooler than the previous few days of intense summer heat and his morning coffee was just right.

So, Robin had bid his wife goodbye before whistling down the road on his way to work. As he took his regular place in front of the large building of NY Memorial, watching panicked and relieved faces alike coming and going out of the hospital, Robin swore nothing could go wrong.

The security was however ripped from his daydreams when three huge SUVs stopped right in front of the hospital doors. Did these people not read the signboard?

"Sir you cannot park here", Robin spoke gruffly as he glared at the tinted windows, "Please take your car elsewhere or I will be forced to call backup."

However, the cars didn't budge and Robin glared harder. What sort of foolish people were they? Parking in front of a busy hospital gate! Honestly. Maybe he should call backup though. What if this was like one of those hostage movies Mary made him watch every weekend? As if...

"Sir, ma'am- please-"

However, all his fight left his body when the door to the SUV opened and out stepped a man he knew very well, who everyone knew very well. Robin took a slow cautious step backward, putting up his arms in the motion of a little surrender. No no no no, today was supposed to be a good day. Today was not supposed to go like this.

"Mr Costa, sir I-"

"I don't have time for this", another voice growled out before bumping into his body and walking into the hospital without a second glance around. Now that he looked up, he could see six men in front of him, all with a bone-chilling aura surrounding them like a cocoon. No one could mistake them for anyone else. They demanded authority.

"I'm sorry Sir, shall I call someone to escort you and your family inside?", his tone hadn't even been this polite when he met Mary's parents for the first time.

"For now, just get out of my face, thank you", grumbled a nineteen- twenty? year old before all men just walked in without a second glance around.

Maybe Robin should have taken his wife's brief obsession with tarrot cards more seriously. Then maybe he could have seen this day coming and just stayed in bed.

***

Standing in front of the room which could give the brothers answers to all the questions they ever had, Declan Costa felt the traitorous lick of nervousness dawning on his spine for the very first time. Even though he could feel Gabrielé keeping an eye on him at the peripheral, Declan could not shake off the intense nervousness at the pit of his stomach. He could see the uneasy stare in the twins glare too. And he could feel Niccoló's desire to memorize the chart he was not allowed to touch. He could even feel Marcello's quietly quickened breaths. Most of all, he could see Federico's hand shake - even if it was just for a second.

Not waiting any further he barged into the white sterile walls without any prompt and ignored the world around him as his eyes focused on the halo of golden hair spread across a white pillow. And oh-oh...

She was there and she was so so beautiful. She looked exactly like the princess that she was meant to be and she was perfect. Everything about her was just so so perfect. Declan could never imagine what love at first site felt like before he had met his baby sister when their mother had given birth to her. She had been quite different back then. And even though her constant whining at night would sometimes annoy him, his love for her was so much more. He could remember smiling for no reason at all whenever his baby sister was within his vicinity. He could remember hugging her tight just because he could. He remembered.

Before all the violence, all the bloodshed, gore and murders, there was her and just her.

She was so perfect.

He would destroy the world for her, he would worship her at her small feet, he would protect her from every monster like him out there and he would love her and hand over his heart to her.

That was what Declan Costa vowed to his baby sister that Friday, in a sterile hospital room.

[Won't deny, I actually cried a little bit writing the last bit...]

His reverie was broken when a loud crash sounded behind him and Declan's fists clenched, deciding to punch the shit out of whoever decided to ruin his reunitement with his sister who he hadn't seen in over thirteen years. He knew his younger brothers were a bunch of dumbasses but he had hoped they wouldn't destroy this moment. Oh well.

But when Declan turned around, his world cracked at the axis. Because right there in front of him was his eldest brother standing, rather balancing himself on the misplaced medicine cart, visibly resisting tears. TEARS. Declan had never, ever seen his eldest brother cry. Others yes, but never Federico. Federico was stronger than his stupid old Nokia phone. He really was. His eyes reflected ghosts and misery, of so much misery. But as soon as it came, Declan saw the tears vanish instead replaced by a rage so raw that it couldn't be covered up by anything in the mortal world. It looked like the world was caving in and Federico was the one responsible for it.

What the hell?

The twins and Marcello had visibly paled though. What was that about? Why was Marcello nervous? He was the calmest of them all for God's sake!

Declan had an image in his mind. The day they would reunite with their sister would be the happiest day of their lives. They would smile and hug and - hell fine. He thought they would atleast worship her at her feet together with all his brothers. Looking around the only sane one was obviously Gabrielé. Atleast he had provided him with the right reaction.

Niccoló, he couldn't even look at her without breaking down without any reason at all. Declan may be a hard-headed motherfucker but he cared about his brothers. He cared about them so so much. So seeing his younger brother with a destroyed look on his face, Declan really wanted to know what the fuck was going on in his family.

"What the fuck is wrong with you shitheads?", Gabrielé stole words right out of Declan's mouth, "we just met our baby sister for the first time in years and what- out with it Ercole."

It was Marcello who answered however, "She goes to our school."
