"Soobin, are you almost done?!" Kara yelled in the living room.

"Almost!" Soobin yelled back.

Kara let out a frustrated sigh as she, Yeonjun, and Huening Kai stood in the living room, impatiently waiting for Soobin to hurry his ass downstairs.

Meanwhile, Soobin was adding some final touch to his look by applying some lipgloss. This was a special occasion for him, as it was his first official double date with his sister and Yeonjun. It had only been a short while since he and Huening Kai had finally made their relationship official.

Finally, Soobin went downstairs, his steps echoing through the hallway as he made his way to where Huening Kai was standing. As soon as he reached him, he couldn't contain his excitement and called out his name, "Hyuka!" Before wrapping his arms around him in a warm and tight embrace.

Huening Kai blushed, "Hey Bin, you look really pretty." He said as he hugged him back.

When Huening Kai spoke those words, Yeonjun's head snapped in their direction. He couldn't stand the sight of the two of them embracing each other or the way Soobin flashed him a smug smile.

"Thank you." Soobin smiled.

"Aww, aren't they cute, Yeonjun?" Kara asked, smiling at her little brother.

Yeonjun hesitated for a brief moment before responding, "Yeah, of course." Kara noticed the slight pause and furrowed her brow in confusion, but decided not to think much of it and continued the conversation.

"Anyways, let's go now!" She said.

As they made their way outside and approached the cars, Soobin was about to hop into Huening Kai's car when Yeonjun suddenly stopped him. "Hold on a second! Aren't you going to be riding with me?" Yeonjun questioned Soobin.

Soobin, Huening, and Kara all exchanged confused glances before Soobin responded softly, "No... im going with Hyuka." Yeonjun was taken aback by his words.

"Jun?" Kara asked, confused. Yeonjun looked at her. He cleared his throat. “Right, I’m sorry. I just thought you and Huening would go with us, that's all." Yeonjun said somewhat coldly before getting into his car.

Weird. Huening Kai thought.

Soobin watched as Yeonjun spoked and quickly entered his car afterward. There was a cold tone in his voice. It was a little surprising for Soobin to hear Yeonjun sound distant once again, but he brushed it off.

He was probably just a bit angry that he had to go on this double date because Kara forced him. Yeah, that's all...

As they arrived at the location, Soobin was taken aback as he exclaimed, "Hold on, wait a minute! Why didn't you guys mention that we were going to an ice skating rink?" He began to panic.

"I wanted to suprise you. It was my idea after all to go here." Huening Kai said shyly.

"Huening Kai, that's really sweet of you, but I don't know how to ice skate!" Soobin admitted. He had ice skated multiple times when he was little, but gosh, he never wanted to do it again after the incident that happened.

"Oh, what happened, bin?"

Flashback:

"Bin! Be careful! You can get hurt!" Young Soobin heard his mother yell.

Despite his mother's warnings, Soobin chose to ignore her and proceeded to skate without a care in the world. He loved ice skating so much! It was so fun!

While skating, he realized that Kara was not by his side. When he turned around, he saw her in the distance. He tried to reach her, but he struggled to stop himself. Panic started to set in as he desperately tried to slow down.

Bang!

Suddenly, he found himself unable to stop himself in time and ended up crashing onto the icy surface, causing his entire body to collide with the edge of the rink with a loud bang.

Tears welled up in his eyes as the intensity of the pain increased. It was horrible. Suddenly, a small voice spoke, "Oh no! Are you okay?" Followed by a comforting embrace from a young boy. Those were the last words Soobin heard before he lost consciousness.

End of flashback:

To this day, Soobin still wants to know who that kid was. Despite him being young, he still remembers how much warmth the kid gave him when his body was hurting in pain.

"Oh, I'm sorry, Soobin. Look, we don't have to be here if you don't want to. We can go somewhere else." Huening Kai said with a bright smile as he intertwined his hand with Soobins.

Soobin looked at him, "No! It's fine. Let's go."

After hearing Soobin's words, the four of them made their way into the ice skating rink, but one of them was left feeling puzzled by what Soobin had said. YEONJUN

The memory Soobin was sharing made Yeonjun's have a memory of his own from when he visited an ice skating rink. Wait a second.  Could Soobin really have been the kid whom he shared that warm embrace with long ago?

Flashback:

Young Yeonjun and his friends were ice skating, enjoying themselves to the fullest. Amidst the laughter and joy, Yeonjun's eyes landed on a boy with brunette hair and an adorable dimple on his cheek. "I wanna be his friend." Yeonjun expressed.

"Hm? Who?" One of his friends asked.

Yeonjun pointed towards a figure in the distance, but his friend struggled to make out who it was and where he was. The boy was on the other side of the ice rink. Before his friend could even process what was happening, Yeonjun had already made his way over to the boy, leaving his friend confused.

As Yeonjun glided across the ice towards the boy, the sound of someone's worried voice pierced through the air, shouting, "Soobin! Be careful. You could get hurt!" Curious, Yeonjun paused his movements to turn and see who had spoken.

Just a worried mother.

He made his attention towards the boy, and he resumed skating towards him. Suddenly, he witnessed the boy lose his balance, stumble, and crash into the edge of the ice rink, causing a loud thud as his body made an impact.

The atmosphere suddenly grew quiet, with everyone around them falling silent, including him. Despite the hush, he didn't hesitate for a moment, instead going to skate as quickly as possible towards the injured boy.

Upon reaching the boy, he immediately noticed the pain etched on his face. "Oh no! Are you okay?" Yeonjun asked, his natural instinct making him wrap his arms around the boy in a comforting embrace.

He continued to hug him, looking at his face. He's really beautiful, Yeonjun thought. But his thoughts vanish when the boy's mother approaches them and says, "Oh my god! Soobin!" She started to panic.

End of flashback:

Fuck that really was him, Yeonjun thought.

Yeonjun was lost in thought, completely zoned out. Kara's voice brought him back to reality as she asked him if he was okay. However, his gaze was fixed on Soobin and Huening Kai, who were holding hands. "Yeah, I'm fine," he replied.

After a few minutes, they had all made their way onto the ice rink. Soobin, feeling terrified, clung nervously to the edge of the rink the entire time. Huening Kai and Yeonjun quickly noticed Soobin's fear, and before Huening could even react, Yeonjun was already by Soobin's side.

"Binnie~" Yeonjun sang. "Don't be scared, okay?"

Soobin looked at him, "I know, but I don't want the same thing to happen again." He frowned while looking down.

Yeonjun flashed a warm smile at him, "Binnie." This made Soobin lift his gaze and meet Yeonjun's eyes. "Do you trust me?" He asked, Soobin nodded.

Yeonjun's smile widened as he gently held Soobin's hand, guiding him as they glided across the ice. Soobin's nervousness was clear, but Yeonjun reassured him, "Don't worry, I won't let you fall. I'm right here with you." Soobin's cheeks flushed as he nodded and tried his best to not be so scared.

Eventually, Soobin began to feel more comfortable and confident on the ice rink, no longer feeling as scared as he did before. "Yeonjun hyung, I think I've got the hang of it now," he exclaimed joyfully.

Yeonjun released Soobin's hands with a gentle smile, "Are you ready to try skating on your own?" he asked. Soobin nodded, a hint of nervousness creeping back into his demeanor. Yeonjun reassured him, "I'll be right beside you the whole time. You're not alone." Soobin's nerves eased with his words.

They began gliding across the ice, laughter ringing out as they twirled and spun, completely caught up in the joy of the moment. In that instant, they both forgot who they should really be with right now as it felt as if they were the only two people in existence.

However, the sense of intimacy that Soobin and Yeonjun shared was soon interrupted by the arrival of Huening Kai and Kara. "Soobin, why don't we all go ice skating together? It'll be more fun if we all join in," Huening suggested.

Yeonjun's smile quickly faded as he knew what Soobin's response was gonna be. He was right, Soobin left him to go and hold hands with Huening, leaving Yeonjun feeling disappointed.

Not long after, Yeonjun felt the gentle touch of another person's hand reaching out to intertwine with his own. It was Kara, and she urged him to pick up the pace and catch up with the rest of the group. "Come on, Yeonjun, let's hurry and join them," she encouraged.

As Soobin and Huening glided across the ice, Soobin caught a glimpse of Yeonjun holding hands with Kara, sending a jolt of surprise through him. He really wanted to be with Yeonjun, but he couldn't bring himself to reject Huening Kai. With a frown, he turned his attention back to the skating rink.

"You okay, Soobin?" Huening asked.

Soobin looked up, "Hm? Oh yeah. I'm okay."

As they continued to skate, Huening Kai couldn't help but be curious about why Soobin kept glancing back. Intrigued, Huening Kai turned around to see what had caught Soobin's attention, only to find that it was Yeonjun. Why was he staring at him so much?

Not only was Soobin gazing at Yeonjun, but Yeonjun was also returning the same look. Shouldn't he be focusing on his girlfriend who was right beside him instead of Soobin?

Kara was thoroughly enjoying herself, as she was having fun. However, her carefree demeanor was interrupted when she caught sight of Yeonjun's furrowed brow. Concerned, she stopped skating and went in front of him, causing him to also stop.  "What's the matter?" she asked, her voice filled with genuine worry.

Yeonjun let out a deep sigh and insisted, "I'm okay, Kara." He repeated himself yet again. "You clearly are not okay. Otherwise, you wouldn't be behaving in this way!" Kara exclaimed, frustration clear in her voice.

"Tell me, Yeonjun,” Kara said. Yeonjun turned back to look at Soobin and Huening Kai before saying, “I’m just a little tired, that’s all.” He lied, but Kara seemed to believe him.
